"Chef Jean-Philippe Gauthier is upholding the traditions of this former coaching inn, which has been in the family since 1951. House specialties include: rabbit terrine with foie gras, chicken with vin jaune and morels, and a knockout trolley of matured cheeses. Meals are served in an interior that blends character and authenticity. Charming welcome and service. Rooms for overnight stays." - Michelin Inspector

Had such a blast on the Valentine's jazz night. It's pretty sad to have to rate four stars instead of five for some of small things during it. First of all, the food, the staff, the band, the singer, the wine, atmosphere, location, everything I mentioned above is beyond AMAZING! No complaints on those at all. Sadly I didn't quite enjoy the cocktails so much, we ordered two different cocktails and neither of them can step up with our high expectations, with the price and all the good things I mentioned above. For sure this place is perfect for special occasions, as it's a fancy place to dine, behind and inside of an old church. That part I think it's brilliant! The toilets are quite limited as it's inside the old church but it was not packed at all so I don't find this a negative thing. In summary, best fancy place for live music, food, wine selections not so much for cocktails (in my opinion) OR maybe if you try different cocktails it would have been better. Still recommended!

I had the absolute pleasure of attending Brunch Gospel with Michelle Sweeney and the Gospel Tribe at the Balcon on the 28th, and it was an unforgettable experience! The food was really good but the highlight for me was the music. Michelle Sweeney and the Gospel Tribe delivered performances that were nothing short of electrifying. It was a good way to enjoy great food while being uplifted by incredible live gospel music.

Beautiful experience ! We had an amazing time; The show including singing and dancing was the most amazing. Food and drinks were delicious and the service was very attentive and fast ! Shout out to our server Aisha ! We are looking forward to attend more events at this beautiful chic venue.

Maria was an absolute delight! Very courteous, respectful and professional. The band, NEON was insane! We can’t wait to come back again. It was way better than I imagined! Thank you!

Le Balcon is a staple in Montreal experiences! Located in an old cathedral, this theater always makes for an incredible time! There’s room to dance if you’d like- most people do! The main floor is tables/chairs set up cabaret style. The balcony is church pews with a thin piece of fabric as your seat cushion. You’ll be up dancing anyways, so don’t get too comfy! Balcony is also “sit wherever” so feel free to move around… but make sure you close out with your server! If you can find them! Once the show starts, I really didn’t see anyone to grab me another drink:( It’s a very intimate venue- there are no bad seats! Very picturesque too! The entrance is on the side street! There’s a coat check for $3CAD and yes they take cards! Beware- there’s a long line aftee to get your coat! The bathrooms are pitiful! Located up a bunch of stairs and then there’s only 2 teeny stalls! For a venue, we need more please!

Yelp
I arrived early because I was looking for a late breakfast. They provided me with a table while still officially closed and some water which was more than I expected. Upon official opening I was able to place my order and knowing I am in a hurry the order came promptly. I got a basic poutine which came with a side salad. I was seated outdoors right at Saint-Catherine which is ok, just the music was a bit overwhelming once they switched it on.

Yelp
St James Church side door is where you will find Le Balcon. Dinner and a Show, it was Motown night so I was ready to groove! Small intimate place with little lighting which gives off a nice vibe. It's first come first serve on the dinner tables so we arrived about 7 perfect!! We started off with a vegetable purée soup which was wonderful. I decided to pick the ravioli's in a cream sauce topped with butternut squash pieces and fungi. I enjoyed that so much! The presentation of the whole night and service was top notch. I ended my dinner with a cappuccino and a chocolate square mousse topped with a Marshmallow.Yummy, yummy and yummy!! The entertainer Snooki and his band brought many memories back, which just brought me on that dance floor to dance the night away. I love the concept of a Dinner and Show, if there were only more!! A great night out with friends....

Yelp
We went for the gospel brunch during the montrealenlumiere festival . We reserved for the first show at 10:00 . Great value for money as we really enjoyed the Imani gospel singers and the food was fine .

Yelp
Certainly a five star, quite cozy, both for entertainment and food for dinner. Like this place a lot !
