Le Bistrot de Cancale

Wonderful lunch with the sun and sea as the backdrop. Delicious wines by the glass, beautiful Breton lobster and even managed to squeeze in a profiterole for dessert. This restaurant will not disappoint, but good luck trying to walk home after!

The bread and butter to start your meal put you in the perfect condition to start your dinner. They have some wine and pet Nat by the Glass witch really enjoyable to have with your appetizer and amazing "huitres plates". The main are all coming with iron cast super hot and shinny and the garnish of your choice on the side. I had the ris de veau with gnocchi. All of it was perfectly cooked and seasoning. We skip the dessert for this time. The only minus point was our table was so close to the kitchen, where you could just hear noise . Appart of that we had amazing time .

We unfortunately didn’t get a chance to come here, we were stranded where we were staying as taxis were generally unavailable / very expensive. The team kindly understood the situation. We hope to come there in the future!

Turbo fish… if you go, just go and get the turbo. I’ve eaten fish at a lot of places and this had to have been up there with Le Bernardin “the fish not the overall experience, specifically the turbo”. Crab soap was good, lobster was good, soufflés was meh flavor wise. Technically looked great with a perfect consistency. But flavor was lacking. Go for the turbo and the lobster. Or skip the lobster and get double turbo. You’ll thank me later.

A lovely spot on the seafront but very quiet on the terasse due to strong on shore winds. Fish is top quality and the people are friendly.

Amazing food! Excellent service. We visited for dinner and had extraordinary food and drinks. Local butter, bread, cheeses. Well-prepared squid, golden sole, and jondori. Profiterol for dessert was amazing. Well-trained waiting staff. Thank you for the experience.
