"Craving beignets and coffee for brunch? This Deep Ellum spot has it covered. Its a storefront and not a sit-down, so you’ll have to do like they do in New Orleans and take it to go, eating while you walk around the neighborhood." - Courtney E. Smith

Google
Le Bon Temps is a charming little spot tucked away in Deep Ellum, not far from downtown Dallas. They offer a variety of beignet styles, but I went with the classic—and it did not disappoint. I bought a half dozen to share, and everyone raved about how fresh and delicious they were. They also serve a selection of coffee drinks, making it a perfect stop for a sweet treat and a caffeine fix. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Google
Having had beignets from Cafe Du Monde, I liked these much better. Their beignets are so light! Crisp on the outside & just the right hint of sweetness in the dough. Very fresh & are served piping hot. Will be back to try their other beignets variations.

Wonder Wendy

Google
The beignets were absolutely delicious. They are really big, but they have the option to get the mini beignets. They have a variety of dipping sauces. The caramel sauce is really good addition. They made them fresh to order.

Google
Gets crowded in the afternoons so I would recommend going early. Got an iced latte and 3 beignets which came out piping hot! Very delicious with good quality coffee

Google
My first time here had the lavender latte. i personally like the bold coffee flavor without having to add a shot and my drink was good i just couldn’t taste the coffee flavor. check it out and see if it’s for you.

Google
Every time I walk deep ellum I have to stop by le bon temps and get some drinks and beignets This time I tried the cookie butter latte 10 out of 10 and, my friend ordered french toast beignets and I got heart shape beignets, they're so tasty and pretty !! I would recommend get some flavor beignets on your next stop, getting in line is 100% worth it staff is super nice and they’re always having a good time, would be amazing if they get more seats because place was popping when i get there on Saturday afternoon.

Google
The beignets are really fresh, light and fluffy. The outside is nice and crispy. The caramel sauce is delicious. the espresso was also very good. Over yes you have to come here after eating!

Google
This was mine and my daughter’s first time trying beingets and they did not disappoint. They were delicious. If you’re thinking about going, go now. My daughter had the beignets with ice cream and I got the churro ones. We also got a hot mocha and it was perfect temp and sweetness. We are making plans to come back for the cinna bon bon.

Yelp
We need more of these shops in DFW! I love their concept. It's a very small shop that serves coffee, beignets and ice cream. There isn't much of a seating area except for 2 small tables outside. The cashier's were super nice and definitely uphold us the beignet ice cream sandwich and we chose vanilla ice cream. It was amazing! The beignet was hot and they dusted powdered sugar on top..yum! We also got a latte which added a nice touch to our dessert. Since it's located in Deep Ellum, they do not have an assigned parking spot and it's nice to walk around the area with your treat. 10/10!!!

Yelp
After trying out local BBQ place we spotted a little Beignets shop and ordered 6, one for everyone in our party. Served right out the cooker and covered with powder sugar they are a real treat. Of course those with dark clothing have to be careful not to take home the powdery sweetness all over their attire. The shop also offers more than Beignets, drinks and ice cream. There were a few little tables outside to enjoy the warm fall day. After ordering our Beignets with the staff member they were ready quickly and perfectly prepared.

Yelp
Ok, ok this is not NOLA by any means!! However it's a cute little spot to at least have a dessert and some coffee and their neighbors are the cutest plant shop ever!! Go through the door and order inside. Come outside and pick up your order at the window. There's a small cute patio with about 3 tables for seating if you can take your time and enjoy the walks of life that pass by in Deep Ellum. Ok now the reason you're here reading... yes to coffee and the patio. But unfortunately not such a fan of the beignets. They are super heavy and doughy. Not at all what I expected. Luckily they are super affordable and I didn't feel too terrible not eating them. My kiddo added Nutella to hers and she ate a whole one, she seemed pleased with her decision. I hope this is slightly helpful. Happy Yelping!

Crissy H.

Yelp
We were in the area for dinner and noticed this little shop, across the street. My partner is from Louisiana and he was excited to try this place, as was I. When we first walked up to the shop, it looked like you ordered at the window, but that's for pickup. You have to walk into the shop to place your order. It was cramped, but such a cute little shop at the same time. The menu was simple and easy to understand, most items were self-explanatory. I was impressed that she made the beignets, as they were being ordered. The wait was long but worth it. We ordered the cinnamon sugar beignets and they came with a drizzle of caramel, they were divine and tasted like New Orleans. As someone said, these are very messy. If you're eating there, make sure you get a knife and fork, if not, you'll have a mess on your hands. They were perfect!!

Erica K.

Yelp
This would be considered a powder sugar overload, and it gets everywhere, your hands, mouth, clothes, ground, everywhere. The size is ample and the flavor is fresh, but I usually prefer them stuffed with Nutella, dark chocolate, or caramel which was not the option at the moment. Overall, very good!

Idaysy B.

Yelp
What a cute hole in the wall dessert shop! My girlfriend and I were driving by and we saw a line out of here and saw that it was beignets which we had never had! We were so glad we stopped and parking in the free parking infront and got 2 to try! The staff was cute and offered to take out picture to remember the moment!

Tiffany T.

Yelp
We came in just to try the beignets. We ordered 3 the traditional way. They were delicious! Plenty of powdered sugar to cover them. Service was friendly. Don't pass this place by!

Chante N.

Yelp
i visited le bon temps twice. the first time the coffee was so good, i wanted to visit again. second time, the coffee is kinda missing something the service is as to be expected in a cafe; nice but calm. ambiance is chill. there are tables & chairs on the sidewalk. now onto the drinks & bites : i got a pistachio milk latte with caramel and the mini beignets. last time i got the churro beignets and they were stellar!

Celeste M.

Yelp
The Churro Beignet is my favorite and I hope they will put it as a permanent item The mini beignets reminded me a funnel cake.

Justin M.

Yelp
The beignets were very dense and almost roll-like a lot more hearty than typical ones. I liked them. My friends thought they were too bready but I'd honestly eat them with breakfast or make a breakfast sandwich with them.

D. Scott C.

Yelp
Great little joint to get a pre-dinner snack. We got a half bag of the minis. They definitely don't skimp on the powdery stuff. Service was good, and staff is friendly. Will be back.

Abhishek L.

Yelp
We came here after dinner looking for a quick dessert, but unfortunately ended up having g to wait almost an hour before our order was made. Most likely the order got mixed up since we saw several people order after us and still get theirs before us. The man running the counter was kind enough to give us some extra samples for our wait, which we did appreciate. Overall the food quality wasn't bad, but ofc not worth the wait that we had - hopefully this was an atypical experience.

Jon T.

Yelp
Legit! Service was great. Too bad that Dallas has let deep Ellum get to the point where it is now. Still glad some good authentic shops remain.

Janice G.

Yelp
Decent substitute to the real deal. Attendants should be nicer the lack there of was a bit off. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my beignets.

Michelle B.

Yelp
Delicious beignets! I got 2 of the nutella stuffed beignets (which weren't so much stuffed as topped with) and a full bag of the beignet holes. Both were absolutely delectable. The holes are much easier to eat and especially good if you're sharing with a group.

David S.

Yelp
The Beignets were just ok, nothing special, but not bad either, just ok. They are messy as heck too.

Kelley H.

Yelp
Being a Louisianan myself- I absolutely loved ! The beignets and iced coffee were super yummy ! It's more of a grab and go type of place because there is no seating inside (it's very small inside) and there is some seating outside. It felt very much like Louisiana vibes. Easily the best I have found in the area and it was pretty quick in terms of turn around time to receive my coffee and beignets!

Taylor Z.

Yelp
I love this place for the beignets and coffee. It's a small shop on Main Street but you are usually in and out. On a night day you can sit outside at the cute tables they have available. The hours on the website need to be updated but I follow them on Instagram and got their correct hours from there. I believe they are closed Monday/Tuesday and open at 10 the rest of the week.

Gill S.

Yelp
Its a small little venue. It's not meant for inside consumption, since there are no tables and only two chairs to wait for your order. I wanted something a little different so I went with one of the stuffed beignets. You have to get two per order and you can't mix and match the flavors. It makes sense production wise but I would have liked to have some variety. These stuffed beignets are not like cafe du monde. If anything, they remind me of a crumpet or a sopapilla. They are much more dense and wetter than I was expecting. I prefer my desserts to lean more towards the wetter side than dry side, but certain someone else may not be pleased. The first thing that stood out to me was how these things aren't over the top sugary in taste. They douse the top in powdered sugar, yet it felt fine. Your body is still gonna get wrecked blood sugar wise, but it was enjoyable eating these things the whole way through. The caramel that came in mind was the right amount to feel like it was purposeful but over oozing out of the seams. Overall this is a nice addition to the dessert options in deep ellum. It's not the most convenient, but that may be a good thing depending on the crowds in that area. Ill be curious how their classic beignets and other options taste.

Keilon L.

Yelp
Who doesn't like beignets?! Perhaps, people who are unfamiliar with beignets but it would have to be only due to the unfamiliarity. I've come here on a many a night and whenever I'm in the neighborhood I find myself meandering over to this spot to get one after a dinner or lunch or just neighborhood walkthrough. There's never a bad reason to stop in.

Tashana L.

Yelp
MEH!! I'm a huge fan of beignets but I'm not a beignet snob. Meaning, I don't compare non New Orleans establishments to New Orleans because why would i set myself up for disappointment like that? With that being said, these beignets were a no for me. They have the look and texture down, but where is the taste?? There is none! They were hot and fresh and I was so excited to take the first bite, I even did a little happy dance. They tasted like yeast and confectioners sugar. I dipped them in the vanilla glaze, the taste turned to sweet yeast. The reason I'm giving them 3 stars is mainly because of the customer service. The ladies that served me were pleasant, friendly, and recommended lots of options. I also had a vanilla cinnamon latte that was delicious. I'll go back for the coffee, but they'll have to hold me hostage and force beignets down my throat if they ever want me to try those again.

Darren E.

Yelp
Do yourself and your wallet a favor and move along as there's nothing to see here! This place may have been good before their ownership change but not anymore. Paid $11 for a bag of fried on the outside but raw dough in the middle "beignets" that we had to throw in the garbage. Consider yourself warned!

Dolores D.

Yelp
The best beignets in Dallas Texas! The place is small and you have to wait outside. It was humid! But the beignets were hot and fresh!

Diana L.

Yelp
Cute little beignet shop! Has table and seats outside. Employee was super nice. This shop offers beignets and drinks. Very busy! Always customers coming in. Beignets are delicious! Nice snack or dessert any time!

Christy C.

Yelp
The guys working tonight were fun and polite. We ordered the 3 pack of Beniets. They were delicious! I had a cappuccino with coconut milk and salted caramel syrup. Great balance of flavors. Not too sweet.

Corrine C.

Yelp
Unfortunately I was less than impressed. Whenever I visit a new city I look for their best donut shop in the area. On yelp the #1 was the salty donut which I have at home so I went with the #2 which was here. Not to mention I love beignets! I mean I didn't expect NOLA status beignets but I expected at least close, especially with the great reviews. When I got there it smelled like something was burning and the woman working there was dressed like she was cooking in her house, like in pajamas, but she was nice. Not sure what was going on. It also is a hole in the wall which is totally fine, if anything I expected them to be even better because of that. Well I got an order of 3, that's the smallest you can get and I took them back to my hotel room. They tasted completely fake to me. The powdered sugar tasted awful. I took several bites hoping it would get better with each bite but it just got worse. Finally I gave up on the first beignet I was eating and threw rest away. I was disappointed. Hopefully no one else has same experience.

Matthew W.

Yelp
Eat it piping hot! We got the Nutella and it was ... okay? It's actually quite dry, and the outside was crunchy, not crispy. The inside wasn't as airy as I'd been accustomed to compared to New Orleans, and it's actually somewhat flavorless - the only sweetness and taste came from the powders sugar topping. I've had much better, honestly. I felt pretty bad for the lone employee who was making the beignets all by herself while also manning the cash register and taking orders from an overflow of customers. It was tempting to order one to try but I don't think I'd come back again.

Josh O.

Yelp
The Beignets here are really good! Located in Deep Ellum , parking is a bit scarce but that's almost everywhere in this part of town. Great customer service by the young lady that worked that particular day. The ice cream sandwiches are so delicious ! Use the Groupon to save some money!

CR J.

Yelp
UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT (as told by an employee). The menu is a bit different than what you may have experienced before, and honestly the beignets taste different too. I will not be visiting again. I bought the No. 3 Beignet for $6. Under new management, they no longer offer any of their sauces on the side (honey, chocolate sauce, caramel...). I know real beignets are not supposed to be served with sauce on the side but it was a nice addition the previous owner offered. Well my Beignets were dry, thick, and not good. It tasted like a piece of stale bread- and yes they were served piping hot so that was how it was meant to taste. I felt it was overcooked and a bit too doughy lending to that unpleasant thick taste with every bite. It's just not worth the price. Also my beignets had big holes in them and didn't look appealing. I always thought of beignets as bread like cloud pillows in powdery sugar, but these are bricks. They now serve a red-velvet cream cheese Beignet called the bon-bon Rouge. It was horrible. They are 2 for $8 and tasted so gross. The cream cheese is way more sour than sweet. I had high hopes for this, but the beignet again was thick, almost like a bagel consistency and just tasted bad, not like red velvet or anything close to it. They were sold out of pies when I was there so maybe those are good? Staff was very attentive and I really appreciated their service but man, this place is just not cutting it anymore in the taste category. Also, the containers they come in at the bottom have holes, so...enjoy getting powdered sugar on everything you own.

Dave G.

Yelp
We love this little shop for a quick treat. I'm not going to pretend to be a beignet expert but these were great! We got the ones filled with buttercream. Didn't try the coffee here, but from what I saw it looked fairly standard. Deep Ellum is a great coffee neighborhood so I would recommend picking one up from a specialized coffee shop and then heading here for a delicious treat.

Jasmine S.

Yelp
Sadly, the service I received fell short of my expectations. I faced many challenges which resulted in a very unsatisfactory experience. After waiting 20 minutes, I was told that my order had been mistakenly given to a customer who placed an order after me. After waiting another 20 minutes in 100+ degree weather, I was informed that a refund would be processed. I didn't ask and didn't want a refund. 40 minutes of my time wasted for nothing and no one seemed apologetic. My previous visit had set a high standard, it was disappointing to see the quality of service so diminished.

Megan M.

Yelp
I've only been here once, as mentioned in my previous review I was just passing through the area and stopped in to try them. If you've read my initial review you'll know that I didn't get my whole order, and I wasn't able to go back to get a refund or get the missing piece. However, I also failed to call or contact the business to try and rectify this. That was my error and I can own up to it. Yet! The merchant was proactive and kind enough to find my order and refund me the difference of what I never received; all without me calling in or contacting them. I will say this level of customer service is one in a million (and I can say this because I've worked in the credit card industry and some places give you the "too bad, so sad" excuse of why they can't help) and if you're in the area, stop in and try them! I don't think you'll be disappointed, and man do I wish they sold that baileys ice cream all the way here in Florida! I'd buy it in bulk! Stop by this tiny tiny shop and enjoy their wonderful beignets and ice cream! I think they do coffee too, but I didn't pay attention to that as much...

Tony D.

Yelp
Its great if you are already in the area. They make it fresh, and with a small sunday line, it still took 10 mins to come out. 3 classic beignets and a hersheys chocolate dipping sauce for $4.87 is a great steal. They are airy and light. The powdered sugar is plentiful if its your thing! The very bery beignets 2 for $8 sounded so good but I was already full to get two orders :( Its a one time treat type of place!

Carla-Cristina M.

Yelp
The food and coffee was amazing!!! The beignets isn't hollow so me and my boyfriend ordered way too many. We ordered six including eat half of them. I recommend getting only three beignets as they are really filling. The coffee is amazing- I got the shakerato iced coffee with oat milk and hazelnut syrup, which tasted AMAZING! One should know that it's a standing restaurant, so there's no areas indoors to sit- it's all outside and if you are out in Texas heat. Service was fast and got the drinks and beignet quick!

Tabeen I.

Yelp
15/10. Best beignet I've ever had and I lived in Nola for 4 years. Get the cinnamon powdered sugar on your beignets and the cinnamon ice cream!

Gelin Cara T.

Yelp
Overall, I'd say this place is just okay. The lady working the register was really really friendly, super helpful, and so nice to throw in an extra beignet because my family and I were sharing. But when it comes to the beignets themselves, they're eh, in my opinion. They were more dense than anything. They weren't light and fluffy as I know beignets to be. The flavor for the Mardis Gras special was great, but the dough just gave me a slight jaw workout.

Lindsey C.

Yelp
I've come to Le Bon Temps a few times and I've always had a positive experience. I usually get the beignet ice cream sandwich (I think that's what it's called - if it's not, sorry), and I always get the Pecan Praline ice cream inside the beignets. They were out of it the last time I went, so I got the French Vanilla ice cream instead and that's what's you see in the picture. Even though it was yummy, I still prefer the other flavor more. The beignet itself was so tasty, loved the crispness on the outside and how warm and fluffy it was. As long as you wear a mask, you can go inside to order and watch how the beignets are made. The one downside to this place is that it's super small and there's only a few tables outside where you can sit and eat.

Sarah M.

Yelp
I've tried so many coffees at this place, and they've been consistently fresh and delicious. Service is quick and polite. Seating is outside on the sidewalk usually, and extremely limited, so this is more of a order-and-go establishment.

Gayla B.

Yelp
The beignets are huge and very tasty! We had a ton left over. I wish we would have tried the beignet holes (always a fan of donut holes). The lattes were good as well.

Brandi M.

Yelp
It's been almost 24 hours and I'm still dreaming about the Beignets I had at Le Bon Temps! We happened on the place by accident. We were going to near by Dallas Pin Up, that we learned was closed (), when the smell of baked goods and chicory hit us in the face! We had to stop immediately! We got classique beignets, some with powdered sugar and some with caramel and a few scoops of the Praline ice cream (butter pecan just won't do it for me anymore! I'm forever changed! Life is short! Treat yourself today!

Allie Y.

Yelp
The best beignets I've had in my life! I think it's even better than Cafe du Monde. They seem to fry their beignets as ordered rather than having it ready. Their beignets taste best when eaten right away and be careful not to burn your mouth as you bite in to them- they are very hot and crispy on the outside and airy on the inside, just how beignets should be! I can't wait to try more of their variety when they expand their menu again. MUST TRY when you are in Dallas area. I believe this is the only stand alone store in DFW area that specialize in beignets. During these times of COVID, they are only offering classique beignets and have limited hours. I think they close at 8 pm on most evenings right now.

Bushra H.

Yelp
Honestly very disappointed with what I got today. My biggest problem is that much of the menu wasn't available. We came pretty early on a Sunday morning and couldn't fry most of the menu. It's a travesty that they have something on their menu that is the love child of a donut and croissant but had none available for us to try. All they had were beignets, which weren't great. The dipping sauces weren't bad but the beignets were way too bready and not the light, airy concoctions they are supposed to be. Their coffee wasn't bad but it did take a while. Overall, I probably wouldn't return unless I happened to walk by on a whim.

Carrie R.

Yelp
A friend and I had found this gem while walking to another restaurant and we were so glad we did! It's a super cute little place that has a big variety of options and even drinks and ice cream! I got Nutella beignets and my friend and her son got minis; both were amazing! Both of us agreed that what made our experience AMAZING was that the worker, Demetrius, went above and beyond to answer any of our questions and give suggestions as to faves and best sellers. **Owner of Le Bon Temps better do their best to retain this guy because he was one of the BEST staff either of us have experienced at any place we've visited throughout the years!** We can't wait to be back to try more flavors

Phi H.

Yelp
Absolutely legit beignets! $4 for three big classic beignets. I'm from Louisiana, and the benchmark for beignets is Cafe Du Monde. These were not same but still great respectively. If you just had a overly, salty season meal and Niwa...run across Main St and get some beignets!

Chandrell S.

Yelp
I was extremely underwhelmed with the beignets. They were simply hot white bread with powdered sugar. The bread had no flavor and the powdered sugar didnt really add much to the experience. I am not sure if these pastries are made with butter but I couldnt taste it if so. It left so much to be desired. I honestly think I am just not a beignet person. I was looking for more flavor. They reminded me of the powered donuts you can get from the store except left cakey and more bread like .. similar to a dinner roll with 10x less flavor. Giving fours stars because I'm sure it's nothing wrong with the product it's just not my thing. My daughter (toddler) loved them Food was hot and fresh. And customer service was great.

Rose J.

Yelp
Update your hours. It's 8am and you are closed! Wanted to try the beignets.. not today.

Wilson L.

Yelp
Great visit to Le Bon Temps Beignet. The beignets are really good and definitely worth checking out. We will be returning if I'm ever in Dallas again!

Regina X.

Yelp
Love this spot for a craving of beignets right in Deep Ellum! Though not as airy as the ones in NOLA (du Monde, Cafe Beignet), the Classique is a steal with three beignets for $4 and is best eaten while still warm. Their iced coffees are on the sweeter side but a cup of the brewed chicory complements the beignets well. Check their IG @lebontempsbeignets for some seasonal beignets!

Semina B.

Yelp
Out of towner always on the hunt for something sweet. After some searches and scrolling on Instagram, success. Sweet, powdery, dough pillows is what I call them. I devoured these in a heartbeat and then had the nerve to ask my sister for one of hers. The way it's set up is you walk inside and place your order (no indoor seating) and then you wait outside by the window for your order. If you're lucky, you may grab the window stool seating or one of the few tables in front. Warning: Powder fest all over your mouth and clothes, but worth every bite.
