Le Bouchon Bourguignon

"Generous, meticulous cuisine inspired by the culinary traditions of Burgundy is served in the contemporary setting of this annexe to Yohann Chapuis's fine dining restaurant. The regional classics are present and correct: "pâté croûte Maison Greuze", eggs meurette (in a red wine sauce), fresh frog's legs in a parsley sauce, Bresse chicken with morels and vin jaune, as well as more refined creations such as carpaccio of Charolais beef with verbena oil, cherry tomatoes and shavings of Comté. It makes a delightful change to see a list of wines served from magnums available by the glass." - Michelin Inspector

Michelin guide restaurant. Was pretty disappointed, though. The service was ridiculously slow. No menu was given to anyone; we didn’t even know the number of courses. We were pretty much begging for water refills. The chicken/duck main was so dry. Was not able to finish. The fish + puree was actually quite good. The appetizer, I am not sure what it was, feta and eggplant? Was far too saucy and the flavours were overdone. The cheese course was creative in a really bad way. The dessert chocolate was nice. Not sure why they went with such a stale bread to start.

First, it has to be said that we are ambiance people more than we are foodies. The atmosphere in this restaurant and the price of the food are very mismatched. The decor is lackluster; the green paint is cold, the black tables and chairs are drab. The lighting is too bright. It's the kind of interior you'd expect from a restaurant that offers steak frites for 18 Euros, not 40 Euros dishes. The food was very good, there's no doubt about it, and the service was friendly. 3 simple things would really help improve the ambiance, if the restaurant is reading: 1. White table cloths 2. Dim the hanging lights way down and put small yellow lights or candles on the tables 3. Turn off the music, or improve your sound system and play soft jazz or piano music

As for me this restaurant is very good. Comparing quality versus price is great

Probably one of the best restaurants in Tournus. We had a wonderful fois gras as starter, which seems to have contained small stripes of Nori, very tasty. The bavette from charolais as a main was excellent, however the “medium” was a little in the red side. Bear this in mind when you order. The wines list is long and with reasonable prices. Very interesting small geese plate and one of the best Crepe Suzette we ate in France. The restaurant does not provide coolers with ice but shock-cools the bottles on request - something we were neither accustomed to nor really enjoyed. Overall a very recommendable restaurant.

Speisekarte voller burgundischer Klassiker macht großen Appetit. Preise a la carte extrem sportlich ( Froschschenkel €45!), Menüs scheinen ok.
