The 5 Best Restaurants In Cold Spring, New York 2024

"For some semblance of a romantic night out, Brasserie Le Bouchon is your best option in Cold Spring for dishes like steak au poivre and onion soup. It sort of feels like the love child of a Little Italy spot and a French bistro, and the very nice outdoor patio has a large covered portion, in case rain threatens to derail date night." - team infatuation

My wife and I visited Le Bouchon during our first visit to Cold Spring last weekend. It is a cozy, retro-type place with a choice of indoor / outdoor seating. We were indoors. All of the food we ordered was delicious: French onion soup, Fua Gra, the steak and lamb burger. French fries are just right there: not greasy, but irresisible. Jesse was our waiter: a down-to-earth guy with impressive sense of humor. This spot will definitely be on our radar next time we are in the vicinity. Cheers!

We had dinner here after hiking Breakneck Ridge, and it was the perfect way to end the day. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming — so polite and attentive. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, and the food… absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend this place☺️

Mother’s Day. Owner Mike and his crew made sure everyone got a table. Nice! House French Red Wine and house made sangria are both excellent. Definitely get the three piece fromage.

I recently had lunch at Le Bouchon with my girlfriend. It was a very pleasant experience. The dishes were simple yet perfectly executed, remind me my mother land and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend it! Thank you again for this beautiful lunch

The Salmon and Bouillabaisse Du Chef was good. The Spatzle Mac & Cheese was ok if you added some salt. The Pommes Rissolees was ok for diced potatoes baked with garlic. Not really worth $9. The onion soup was decent.

Another pleasant experience at Le Bouchon! We had the Crab Cakes and the Baked French Brie to start — both appetizers were so delicious! We tried the lamb burger and they were so kind to bring it split in half on separate plates for us. It was juicy and flavorful. L Additionally, they bring you artisanal bread for the table to start & happily refilled our basket free of charge for my partner to indulge further. It was so nice to sit outside in their back patio this time and it was a lovely laidback vibe. Our server was great and all the food came out in a timely manner. Last time we were here, we tried one of their Moules Frite which was great. We remember having attentive service as well!

EDIT: 11/13/24 WE came in for an early dinner on a Friday at 3:30pm. This was our 2nd time here. I took a star off because the the consistency isn't there. I got the same exact filet mignon medium rare for me and my dad. Mine came out rare and my dad's was medium. Also it wasn't as flavorful. Even when I look at the previous one I got the sauce is clearly lighter and not the same consistency. We weren't offered any bread until we asked after our meal came out. It's still the cold bread with ice cold butter. My mom's mussels had a nice sauce but lots of grit in them. They didn't give a spoon with all that broth either. We were also sat next to a huge family that were super loud and disruptive. Parents had no control over their teens. Not the restaurant's fault but it does suck when it's so cramped inside. Original review----------------------- Came in for dinner on Sunday around 5pm and there was a little line outside of the restaurant. Waited maybe 10mins before we got a table. Could have sat immediately outside but it was freezing. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Restaurant interior is clean but cramped. We sat at a booth where the bench is shared and you're within inches from another customer on the sides. Really glad we're small people lol. We were offered bread after making our order. It looks like house made sourdough but it comes ice cold with ice cold butter that isn't salted. Overall would skip next time. Pretty tasteless. We didn't have to wait long for our appetizer and entree to arrive. We ordered the octopus to start. Never seen it presented this way. It was almost compressed together and sliced like deli meat. It was tender enough to be able to cut with a fork and seasoned well. There was a slight tinge of fishy smell. The fingerling potatoes were roasted and seasoned well. I enjoyed the aioli that came with it as it complemented the octopus and fingerling potatoes. For entrees we got the filet medium rare with mash potatoes and the wild mushroom ravioli. The filet was excellent. Cooked perfectly and tender. Loved the port wine demi which elevated the dish. The mashed potatoes were creamy and comforting. The mushroom ravioli was rich and delicious. Loved the pesto sauce. For dessert we got the french vanilla creme brulee. The custard was delicious and the caramelized sugar on top was super crispy. Would love to come back and try their other dishes. PS: This didn't apply to us tonight but just noting for new patrons--there is a plate sharing fee listed on the menu (which I find any restaurant charging this kinda ridiculous).

First time dining there and we will be returning! Every course was delicious. The octopus, steak and filet mignon were so good. Our servers were very nice. They had multiple seating options which we liked. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Nice little French spot in downtown Cold Springs - perfect to recharge after going on a hike! We ordered the Escargot ($16), the Lamb Burger ($24), the Steak Tartare ($26) and two bottles of white wine ($38 and $39). There are some tables out front and a backyard for outdoor seating (as well as inside). I think for the price of the food, the quality does not match. The Lamb Burger, which was good but comes with frozen fries, could have been priced at $5 cheaper for it to be fair. The Steak Tartare was supposed to be a main but felt more like an appetizer; same opinion as the burger - the dish was priced higher than it should have been for the quality and amount of food. Also not sure why they gave ketchup on the side of the steak tartare (we are in America after all haha). The escargot were snails from a can and disguised in a ton of butter/garlic/oil. The bottles of wine were also marked up - a $12.99 bottle on the menu for $38. We asked for more bread and the server forgot until I heard him remember 20 minutes later. Overall this spot was okay, but surprised our meal was $205 with tip for what we ate/drank.

Yelp
I will say the only thing keeping this place away from A 1 star is the service . Very nice people but the food is atrocious. The scenery is very old school and dirty , i literally had a fly die in my cup of water . This is definitely a place where you could only love it if you're old or grew up coming to because I will never come back to this establishment. They even tried serving my girl friend RAW chicken before her birthday... unbelievable would not recommend If your tryna get a good feel of this lovely town

Yelp
We were hungry, and love French food. There was a short wait for tables, and then we were seated inside this charming restaurant. I was tempted by the lamb burger, but had the Croque Monsieur instead. It was a rather a different take--a piece of ham and a piece of cheese were on top of a large, eggy slice of bread. Interesting. Not the usual Croque Monsieur. My mother had goat cheese tartelettes, which she loved. My French fries, alas, did not make the cut. They were crispy, but oddly dry and tasteless. I saved lots of calories and carbs by not eating them. Service was pleasant and cheerful. It did take quite a long while to get our coffee, but when it arrived, it was from a fresh pot and delicious. We had to ask for more cream, but it arrived promptly. The vibe is bustling and European. The crowd seemed well-dressed and mostly young.

Yelp
Came here because one of the reviews said they had the best French onion soup. Unfortunately I felt the opposite. This was one of the worst soups I've ever had. My local diner French onion soup is better and that's not saying much. I also got the arugula and goat cheese salad which was only ok. Nothing special. Service was also just meh. I think I'd skip this place if I go back

Yelp
There was a long time waiting outside so we decided to check this place out. There was a lot of people here so there was a nice white noise in the background. Service however, was really slow. I had to asked 3 times before the waiter finally got me my hot sauce. The Baked Brie basically tasted like a sandwich with ham, egg and cheese. French Onion Soup was my friends go to order but personally I couldn't understand the hype of it. There is a 3.75% non cash price. Their system does not take debit cards so you can either pay in cash or credit cards, heads up!

Yelp
Lovely little place in Cold Springs with a cute outdoor eating area We tried a few different muscle flavors which were pretty flavorless and the onion soup was good, don't get me wrong but it was pretty run of the mill Steak sandwiches also got a 3 out of 5 Service was pleasant, not rushed and not a bad place to lunch

Yelp
It's basically all street parking. Your best bet is to park in one of the outlet streets above the river. The place itself is a cute representation of what you would expect from a New Orleans style building. The red interior and checkered table clothes stand out tremendously. First, they give you homemade sourdough and butter, interesting they did not include a butter knife. The french onion soup was one of the best I've had, it was not too salty and packed with herbal flavor. The steak au poiver was tender, juicy, and very peppery. I asked for the steak to be cooked medium, and it was a bit overdone. Definitely don't order this dish if you don't like too much pepper. The homemade fries were crispy and delicious; I like how they left the skins on. The bouillabaisse was good but it didn't blow me away. The portions were quite skimpy for the price. If I knew this place would be this expensive, I would have went to an upscale restaurant. 3 glasses of house wine, 1 soup, and 2 entrees came out to be $114! The food here is very good, the wine list is great, and the ambiance is nice. The only reason I am not leaving a 5 star review is the price/value ratio. This is not a high end restaurant and these are high end prices. Brasserie was a nice experience but I don't feel compelled to go back.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place more, but it missed the mark in a few key ways. The interior is charming with red walls. There is also a little bit of outdoor seating on the porch area in the front, as well as a garden in the back. My friends and I sat indoors, as there was no available outdoor seating. For my dinner, I decided to order the Le Bouchon Steak Frite, and I asked for it to be cooked well done. The black iron flank steak came quite burnt, along with garlic butter on top. While I love my meat to be crisp, the steak was completely overdone, making it really dry and difficult to eat. The garlic butter also tasted off to me, somehow. I did enjoy the homemade fries, which were perfectly crunchy, full of potato goodness, and very addicting. Despite how my steak was made, I know that this restaurant can do better, because I was able to taste my friends' Steak Au Poivre, which was delicious! This particular steak was cooked medium, pepper crusted, pan seared, and coated with well seasoned, savory pepper cognac sauce. It was tender, juicy, succulent, with strong pepper taste. I was considering ordering this as well, which I would have been much happier with. The dessert special was Molten Chocolate Cake with vanilla ice cream. Of course I asked for chocolate ice cream instead. This came with fresh raspberries, as well as raspberry sauce underneath the cake, along with a dusting of powdered sugar on top. First of all, the scoop of chocolate ice cream was tiny. The cake was medium in size, and while it was moist with rich, chocolate flavor, there wasn't much molten filling. I found this to be truly disappointing. It made me upset that I spent $12 or more on dessert, when I should have just saved my money for ice cream at one of the shops nearby. Service was wonderful, until the end of the meal. Our waiter was so friendly, on top of it, and seemed to know the menu well. However, it took awhile to get the check and pay. As I was not satisfied with the food, I definitely would not return.

Yelp
Great spot. Delicious and cozy. Authentic brasserie fare. Excellent bread, escargot, steak au poivre and frites, and onion soup. Really tasty and satisfying meal. Awesome.

Yelp
My friend and I came here while exploring Cold Spring and it didn't disappoint. We each ordered the French onion soup, and I got the green goodness salad and my friend got the halibut. Everything was very good, and the ambiance was lovely. Service was also excellent and I would definitely come back here the next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
Back after 5 years! Was driving down from a meeting and decided to take a detour, and I'm glad I did. I forgot how special this place is!! Met a delightful group of young women and talked about Poland and party balloons! What a wide ranging conversation. Jesse my waiter comes right over and I order a glass of Bordeaux. Wow really nice and smooth He recommends the pork pate. Which I just do good. Delicious in fact! With baby Gurkha pickles. Ummmmm For the entree I get the chicken cordon blue It's crispy moist and stuffed, of course, with delicious ham! Side ordered Brussels sprouts. Sautéed and amazing! What an amazing meal folks! I'm glad I remembered this place. Will be back soon!

Carole F.

Yelp
very expensive My onion soup was made with 3/4 bread and 1/4 soup. Halibut was dry, and was covered with cream sauce to camouflage the mediocre taste Will never return to this restaurant

Karina P.

Yelp
The service was terrible- the waiter was impatient, rude, curt. As we were beginning to sit down, he asked us to move to another table since the table we would be taking up was for "five people" and we were only four. He said it in a curt and annoyed tone. It was also strange since the restaurant was nearly empty. Later on, when the waiter was clearing the table, there was cutlery on top of one of the recently used dishes, so he remarked "thanks for the help". It felt like we were going to get scolded from him at any point. It was a bad experience and I can't imagine how he would treat others with limited english speaking capabilities. When we received the check, I noticed that an 18% gratuity was included even though there were only 4 people in our party. Since I wanted to avoid an unpleasant experience with my family, I didn't ask to remove it, but I really don't think the service was deserving of an 18% tip. With respect to the food, it was good-ish even though some dishes, like the casoulette were too salty for my taste. I was surprised to see that the casoulette consisted mainly of sausages instead of actual meat pieces.

Yelp
Great dinner tonight. Exactly what we wanted. Escargot were perfectly cooked. French onion soup was only average. (make note to self for next time) Wifey had the confit duck which was great as usual. I tried the Steak au Poivre medium rare. Wonderful! Just the right pepperiness and a wonderful sauce. Great fries. The house Cote du Rhone by the glass was very good. Really like this place. Excellent attentive service. Great vibe. YMMV

Yelp
Ambiance: 7 Food: 6, nothing special, strong hints of "tourist trap" Service: 3, Surly and mediocre at best. Kinda the service you would expect from a Chipotle or similar. I suspect locals must steer clear of this place as repeat business must not be a priority with the owners.

Mark B.

Yelp
Let me start by saying we wanted to eat here but never actually got to....I'll explain. We emailed to make a reservation and didn't hear back. So we called only only to be told they don't accept reservations - no problem at all. But why couldn't they have replied to say so? Not to be deterred, we thanked them, and said we would stop by without a reservation but wanted to check the could accommodate one of our party who has celiac disease (gluten free). We were met with an abrupt "no". Almost every restaurant with a chef cooking things from scratch can make accommodations, so they just obviously didn't want to. Looking back at past reviews it seems manners and customer service is often lacking in this establishment.

Yelp
Wow! Lovely " Bistro " in the heart of Cold Spring. Started by sharing the Baked Brie which could have been a little warmer and may be a nice warm baguette would have been a better choice than the cold bread. Now for the best part. Our waiter Michael was great, professional, accommodating, funny and attentive. All our food was served pipping hot and on a timely fashion. Pipping hot onion soup that delighted my friend. The Escargot were finger licking good, plenty of garlicky parsley oil to dunk our bread. Foie Gras Terrine smooth and copious. The Steak au Poivre served medium rare , tender and juicy, with plenty of sauce, don't order if you don't like pepper, I LOVED IT. Bangers and Mash, great flavored sausages. Black Angus flat iron steak with fries served medium rare as asked, very tasty. We left some space for desserts, mini Profiteroles with hot chocolate sauce yummy. Prices are what to be expected but will not break the bank. Place is quaint, we will definitely go back. Try them.

Yelp
After finishing the hike up Breakneck and then following the trail down to Cold Springs, we were famished and ready to eat. I was excited to actually sit down and try some places since every time I had come previously, every establishment was crowded with parties waiting for a table. Luckily, Le Bouchon had seating ready on this brisk Sunday afternoon, and a holiday weekend, nonetheless. The place is cozy and intimate with its red and white picnic style table cloths and wooden interior. They make it work to have enough seating inside, but if you're looking for privacy, this isn't really the place as the tables are so close together your conversation ends up overlapping with the next party. Despite it advertising French fare, the interior design reminded me of a popular restaurant in Budapest I'd been to years back. All in all, the place felt European without the heir of pretension. After hearing the specials, we decided on the four meat option (knackwurst, bratwurst, pork belly, and one last addition I couldn't remember) that came over a bed of saurkraut boiled with juniper berries, along with the duck canard confit. I'm annoying when it comes to alcohol, so I asked if I could have their martini with gin instead of vodka -- the waiter was incredibly patient and kind about it; when he returned with it, he made it a point to say he'd remake it if it didn't taste right, which showed a lot of care. We also ended the meal with a creme brulee, as it's my partner's go-to dessert. All in all, everything was just...fine, with nothing standing out. It got the job done, but I guess we shouldn't have expected fine cuisine in such a sleepy tourist town. To start, the table bread was incredibly hard and jagged -- like a Banh Mi baguette but the sharp crust was the entire thing. When I unraveled my napkin to reveal the utensils, the knife tip was crusted with some unknown green schmutz that I was scared to remove. Later, I had to tell the waiter bringing over a salad that we hadn't ordered one, which caused some confusion. On a positive note, the duck canard confit had really good flavour and was done well -- the fat was the perfect level of decadence, and the skin was crispy. The meat plate was...just a meat plate. You couldn't really taste the juniper berry, but it was there. Maybe it's just my aversion to German food, but it didn't strike me as something I would seek out. The creme brulee came with a cute blue merengue atop which we didn't eat, but we eagerly devoured the caramelised top layer. The actual custard on the bottom was undercooked and runny, unfortunately. I'm glad we got to try Le Bouchon out, but we probably won't return for a second try.

Claudia R.

Yelp
Been there once with a friend and it was ok Today as a solo hiker it was strange Once I said it was one person the expression of the waiter was like ... oh I don't think so He accommodated everyone ahead of me so I asked do you serve one person or should I go ? "Well ... you could wait about 30 minutes " (nobody ahead of me and the access to the restaurant was blocked by a rope . Left , not disappointed at being a solo person but at being rejected for being one . Doubt I'll come back .

Herve S.

Yelp
Vastly overrated and overpriced. Better places within walking distance. I am sorry to differ with Matt M. It's clearly not "incredible".

Yelp
: Brasserie Le Bouchon Restaurant in Cold Spring, NY. (Verdict: No Potatoes) Can't find them on IG. Le Bouchon, a charming bistro serving French classics like cassoulet in a cozy, red-hued room or outdoor garden setting. This gorgeous Friday afternoon we decided to take the convertible out for a top down drive probably one of the last times this year. Cold Spring was our destination. Cute little town located about an hour north of the George Washington Bridge. Not much more than a few mom and pop shoos and a handful of restaurants. There is also a spot next to the Hudson with gorgeous views. We wanted some seafood and to eat it outdoors. Brasserie Le Bouchon was perfect. We enjoyed our meal in their back patio seething area. For a small town eatery... the food and service was great, way above average. Also had a great conversation with Michael, one of their servers. We ordered: 1x Grilled OCTOPUS with chorizo special. 1 x MARINIÈRE (for her) Mussels with white wine, parsley, shallots and garlic. 1 x ESPAGNOLE (for me) Pictured. Mussels with chorizo, white wine and red peppers. Drinks were... Unsweetened Iced Tea, a glass of Sangria (don't recommend) and a couple glasses of their house Cabernet. Not too bad. @vinopotato

Yelp
We sat outside on the front porch on a summer Sunday for lunch. The server that sat us also took care of us - he was very personable and fun. We started with the escargot. I previously thought I did not like escargot, but my dining partner successfully convinced me otherwise! I had a salmon special appetizer for my meal and my dining partner had the croque madame. We were both very happy with our experience. The food was good, the service is friendly, and the place is adorable.

Yelp
Even though there's ample outdoor seating, they absolutely do not allow dogs at the establishment. Seems like an old, stuffy place.

It was a surprise we could find a bouchon in local. It was a pleasant experience to try this place

Yelp

Yelp
A terrific find in Cold Spring. Had passed by so many times, but finally made it a destination on a beautiful weekend's day trip up from the Boroughs. Nice place, personable and friendly staff. Food was just right. Hopefully the bar may reopen one day, as it looked very cozy and inviting. Covid put a dent in their business, so make sure to check it out.

Yelp
PROS: This place is the #1 hot spot of all restaurant cottages in the area. This was originally a 19th century house and converted into a restaurant. The staff is very nice, the food is good, and the prices are decent. They hustle to turn over tables too CONS: Parking is limited on the street and they do not take reservations despite being very popular. The kitchen was also very slow OVERALL: Despite a few cons I think their pros outweigh them. I highly suggest you coming here, but you are at risk of needing to wait for a table

Yelp
I thought I was being punk'd with this service! I cancelled a high end restaurant reservation after reading the reviews for Brasserie Le Bouchon and having it across the street from our Bed & Breakfast. What a mistake. We walk in past a thick curtain and was told we can sit anywhere. We scan the menu and my wife would like a glass of Rose and I would like a French beer. 5 minutes go by and our waiter comes back and asked us what we'd like to drink? I said do you remember a glass of Rose and a French beer? 5 minutes go by and another waiter comes to our table, what would you like to drink?? I said what the hell and our drinks come to us two minutes later. I asked for a French Onion Soup, two lamb burgers and a pot of mussels. My wife asked if we can substitute the fries? Perhaps green beans? Not a problem ma'am. Now I'm hearing kitchen chatter, 20 year olds dropping F bombs as well as the loudest damn cordless phone?! The French Onion Soup? Pretty good, no complaints here as well as the mussels. My beer is glass is now empty but I'm not going to chase down the waiter. The burgers come out and they're loaded with French Fries. I laugh at this point. Now the green beans come out. My wife says to the waiter we didn't want all these fries! Not to worry ma'am, you won't be charged extra. Sure am thirsty for another beer! Our burgers? Raw in the middle. I'm done with this stupid ass place. My wife was a trooper, she grabbed one of the waiters and asked to have her burger reheated. They came back with a brand new, properly cooked lamb burger. One of the waiters looked at my plate, never asked about my burger or how about another drink? What am I, on the pay no mind list? Brasserie Le Douches? Never again.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for lunch last weekend and had a very pleasant outdoor dining experience. It was a beautiful Saturday and the wait for a table was about 30-35 minutes. There is a garden in the back with some flowers and a fountain with tables spaced nicely apart. They are definitely trying to make the outdoor experience enjoyable. They have a few tables on their front porch, but I would hold out for the backyard dining, so people aren't constantly walking past you. We ordered the Steak au Poivre and the Wild Mushroom Ravioli. Both entrees were delicious French Fare. The meal was preceded with some complimentary bread and oil. Our servers were friendly and efficient. They were all wearing masks and tables were sanitized between guests.

Yelp
Was just ok. Was expecting a bit more from the food. Got the charcuterie board and it seemed a bit over priced for what you got. Wait staff was nice but didn't seem particularly enthused by waiting on customers. We decided on an appetizer and kept walking for other options.

Yelp
This is the go to spot for my friend group after a long hike. They have great service, the wine and drinks are excellent. The food is phenomenal. Always new chef specials, you need to go here! The ambience is just perfect as well, very beautiful decorations.

Kellie D.

Yelp
Delicious, yummy, and fresh! I have been here twice now and I've had the specials both times. Yesterday, we had the duck pate - wow, what a great flavor. We also shared the mussels, steak au poivre, and fromage. It was a welcome treat after a difficult hike! The ambiance is cozy. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Was there with friends and had a good time and food was reasonably good and tasty. I did order the blood sausage and was unwell for the rest of the day struggling with digestion. My friends were fine from Croque Madame and Steak Frites. .

A bit pricey but overall service and the food was great. The ambiance chill and enjoyable.

Yelp
I was visiting cold Spring as a tourist and I'm so glad I chose this restaurant for my lunch. The staff were absolutely amazing and completely attentive and kind despite rush hour. Yes there is a wait and no there is no list. Just be patient and wait. I got my table after only 10 minute wait because some people just gave up and walked away. If you're also a tourist from NYC, keep in mind that this is a small town and be courteous. Food was great! 1) We were given some basic baguette with butter and the servers refilled this over and over.. yay! 2) I got the French onion soup which was extremely delicious and cheesy with Gruyere. 3) Also got the niscoise salad which had sushi grade tuna. Honestly the tuna had a darker color than pictured. I was hoping for more quality. 4) My black Seabass entrée with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach was delicious. I have no idea how they got the Seabass to be so creamy and juicy. 5) The black Angus steak was organic grass fed beef and tasted pretty great. The fries were very standard frites that you would get it any French restaurant. 6) They were two desserts of the day: Crème brûlée and triple chocolate mousse. I definitely love the triple chocolate mousse more than anything. Overall an excellent experience. We'll be back if we get the chance!

Had the escargot and seafood salad, which were both delicious! The escargot came in pesto sauce, which also served as a great dip for the bread. The seafood salad came with octopus, scallops, mussels, and shrimp. It tasted fresh, although could have been improved with a stronger seasoning. Would def come back to try the other dishes! The restaurant is very popular and does not take reservations, so I would recommend coming at an off-peak hour if possible.

Yelp
Simply the best! My wife and I had lunch here today. We shared an onion soup, a croque monsieur, and a croque madame. All was excellent, and we can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Came here on a weekend trip for NYE. We thought it would be amazing because it looked like the nice NYC restaurants we are used to. Well, the service was bad and and the food was straight up horrendous. I ordered a seafood dish and my BF ordered bangers and mash. My food tasted like seafood sitting in dirty fish water and not fresh at all! My BF said his food tasted like it was microwaved. The prices are insane for food that may be the worse I've ever had. STEER CLEAR!!! We went to Dougs Pretty good pub after because I needed to eat. Highly recommend as their food is freshly made and delish.

Yelp
A couple of weeks ago, my boyfriend and I ate at Brasserie Le Bouchon after a hike. It was our first sit-down restaurant meal since before the pandemic. The back garden and parking lot area make for great outdoor dining, with PLENTY of space between the tables. (In retrospect, I appreciate this more now that NYC outdoor dining has begun and I see how most places are cramming the tables together.) The scenery is also nice, and you feel like you are a guest in someone's yard. The waitstaff were going above and beyond in terms of safety and hygiene, wearing masks and sanitizing tables, menus, etc., between parties. I am a bit conservative when it comes to these health risk situations, but I felt extremely comfortable having a meal here. You can tell that the staff really care about what they are doing. I had the lamb burger, which was delicious. I love lamb more than most things, and this burger did not disappoint. I'm not a big French fry person, but the fries here are great, too- fresh and more potato-y than oily. My bf had a special featuring soft-shell crabs in -I think- a buerre blanc sauce. Being seasonal, they were of course very fresh, and seemed to be perfectly cooked. The wine/beer selection was also good and reasonably priced. Would definitely go back when in the area, and hopefully under more "normal" circumstances.

Yelp
Awful service! My family waited for a hour to order foods sitting stressfully on our butts with 4 glasses of plain tap water. I ordered a burger with fries and nobody bothered to ask me if I wanted ketchup. Ironically, this place enforces automatic gratitude, as if everyone would appreciate their meager services. Fortunately, the food was okay but not worth the price. Definitely not recommended!

Yelp
I decided to come here for lunch based on the great reviews, and left underwhelmed. I've eaten at good French restaurants before, and was excited to try another. We were greeted promptly and seated outside. First annoyance-they have no straws. It was a minor issue, but because there's so much ice in the drinks, not having a straw made it difficult to drink. I understand not using plastic but they had none at all (I asked). Sangria was good. My husband said his pinot grigio wasn't great. My son had a hard time drinking his soda. I decided to try the goat cheese tart appetizer. For $13, we got TWO puff pastry squares with a slice of goat cheese and an arugula salad. I could buy an entire box of puff pastry plus a log of goat cheese and make an entire platter for less than that. It tasted good but was very simple and probably overpriced by about five dollars. I ordered my son the croque monsiuer, which was more bread than topping although it was flavorful. I had the seared salmon entrée which was fine. The salmon was nicely cooked but needed salt despite the sauce, along with the asparagus. Menu said "seared," salmon was clearly grilled. The potatoes were probably the best thing on the plate. I tasted a bite of steak from my husband's steak sandwich; the meat needed salt. Service was fine and mostly attentive but the waiter was not friendly in the slightest. So overall while nothing was necessarily bad, it also wasn't great. I wouldn't return.

Yelp
Nice location on the beautiful Main Street. It was a very hot day but I like to seat outside as always if possible. Nice chef and nice waiters. Cold beer went great with appetizers and main dishes.

Yelp
Went to Brasserie Le Bouchon for first time today. The food is great and the service is even better. The staff welcomed guests warmly and were very friendly. If you are ever in the neighborhood, stop by for a good meal.

Yelp
One of the best French bistros on the East Coast. Wonderful food, quirky charming service. Can't be beat. Please notice any lower-grade reviews are by people with little understanding of French cuisine, nor do they know how to spell!
