Best Austin Restaurants Open on Mondays | Eater Austin

"Ready to unwind? Embrace the French philosophy of y’a pas le feu au lac — essentially, “there’s no rush” — at this Hyde Park bistro. Settle in for classic French dishes, such as escargot, steak frites, or duck leg cassoulet. Find it tucked inside the Tiny Grocer boutique market, occupying the unique space of a former Post Office. On Mondays, it closes at 9 p.m. Choose between the large patio, bar seating, or reserve one of their tables." - Darcie Duttweiler

Best French Restaurants in Austin | Eater Austin

"Austin Top Chef contender Jo Chan turned to French cuisine for her first solo restaurant in Hyde Park, in collaboration with Tiny Grocer for dinner and brunch. The neighborhood bistro offers up a classic cozy menu, with heart duck leg cassoulet served with a venison sausage or the rich pomme dauphine topped with roe. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury

Best Austin Restaurant Dishes of 2023, According to Eater Austin Editors | Eater Austin

"Fall means French food for me personally, so I was very excited to check out the new restaurant from Jo Chan. My friend and I ordered a lot, and everything was great. My personal highlights included the pommes dauphine, which I adored. The somehow light and fluffy potato croquettes were topped with dollops of creme fraiche and trout roe. And then the duck leg cassoulet is just one of the warmest richest dishes I’ve had in a long time. The tarbais beans were hearty, the duck meat was tender, the venison sausage spicy, and the resulting broth was so luscious, I wanted more bread to sop it up. I do love that little complex, especially being able to buy a book at First Light beforehand, and browsing and buying random cheeses and canned coffees at Tiny Grocer after our dinner. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in services. —Nadia Chaudhury" - Nadia Chaudhury
