The 12 Best Restaurants in Casablanca, Morocco - Eater

"Le Cabestan offers ocean-front dining on the corniche with excellent seafood to boot. Established in 1927, it’s one of the older restaurants in the city still in operation. The diverse menu spans international cuisines, but the kitchen also appeals to local tastes with popular ingredients and flavors. Try the parrillada, a mixture of fish and seafood cooked a la plancha, served with several sauces. It’s ideal for sharing. Outdoor seating. [$$$]" - Amanda Ponzio-Mouttaki

Great place to chill out in a group or alone. Food is amazing, and the servers are always watching to get rid of used plates/cups or help to order anything new. Easy access to the beach and a good clean pool. The only issue I found is that there are many bees for a city that was telling their bee's are being extinct. Food we had were salmon starter, meat mix plater, kebab plate and seafood mix plate.

The atmosphere and service was amazing! My steak was not cooked how I asked or even close to it, and the steak was not tender at all. However the tapas dessert and my girlfriend’s meal were great! I would highly recommend the truffle potatoes. The sauce was divine on those, and the chicken gyoza had a fun twist on it that made it delicious! The prices were so good too.

The guacamole was really good! Everything else was … okay. Nothing to rave about. Restaurant is beautiful - 2 floors. Worth it if you can get a table against the window for ocean views!

We went there for lunch and also drinks one night. Hip place at night, lots of young people partying… but during the day this beautiful spot offers great views onto the ocean. The food is delicious, and people are very kind. Smoking is allowed as in most places in Morocco but at this place and for our lunch it was bothering us as the air was pretty thick with smoke. That’s the only reason I am taking away two stars for atmosphere.

This place is truly in a league of its own honestly, it might be the only restaurant in the world where you’d go just to check out the bathroom, it’s that impressive! Since it opened, it has completely raised the bar for fine dining in Casablanca. The view is stunning, the service is always spot-on, and the menu keeps evolving while staying solid. It’s one of my favorite by sea destinations. The food is consistently good yes, it’s a bit pricey, but totally worth it. I had the white fish carpaccio which was delicate and flavorful, and the Caesar salad was surprisingly one of the best I’ve had. If you’re in Casablanca, Cabestan is a must-go spot.

The waitress was wildly chewing gum, I ordered steak tartar she pointed at the fillet on the menu and said it’s cooked. I told her I know what steak tartar is . I called her back and told her to get rid of her chewing gum. From that moment I wasn’t popular. The French fries arrived, tiny shriveled ones, not what I expected from such an establishment. The unimaginable salad came with lots of sauce on the top. Then the preparation of the steak tartar started. No gherkins, no capers, no beetroot, no egg yolk, no Worcester sauce .. it was supposed to be with truffle .. however no taste of truffle . The meat was too chunky. Having said that the meager French fries were now cold. My friends arrived. One ordered a drink in a tall glass, pointed at my glass to show what she meant . The drink arrived in a small glass . The order was said in prefect French by the way . The waitress needs to attend charming school or seek a new job. Quite disappointing for recommendations given that this was THE place to visit.

Traveling to Casablanca, Morocco for the first time. Majda, from Courtyard by Marriott, recommended Cabestan. She didn’t fail. Food was amazing from beginning to the end. Great music and location on the ocean. Highly recommend this place for lively food and entertainment

Thank you, Nouhaila, for your warm and thoughtful service—we loved your beautiful smile and truly appreciated the sea-view table you arranged for us. We spent a romantic and unforgettable evening at Le Cabestan, watching the most stunning sunset over the ocean in Casablanca. The view was breathtaking, the atmosphere was perfect, and the music added just the right touch. The restaurant’s design is elegant and sophisticated, the service is excellent, and even the restrooms are impressive, featuring relaxing lounge chairs and sea views. An absolute gem by the sea!
