Le Carré de l'Ange - restaurant

We had a wonderful lunch here for my father-in-law’s birthday. The setting was really lovely, in the shade under some trees on the green in front of the restaurant. The food is offered as a fixed menu which changes daily. Every course was delicious. The service was attentive, the drinks menu extensive and very high quality. The owner is Italian and was trained under high-end well known chefs in London. This shows! We very much enjoyed our experience and I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

2 years ago we had dinner hier and all agreed that if ever we are in the neighbourhood again we must have dinner there. The food was subliem ! Prepared with care and well balanced. Subtle on the tastebuds with all organic and locale products. And then the service… excellent and with pride. Exactly timed correctly with out being pushy or snobbish. The wines were again excellent and great advice was given when making our choice. Of purse the ambience of the location is unmistakable a great plus with views over the hills and the cathedral of Saint Lizier. This must by now be a Michelin restaurant recommendation ! Especially as the price is dirt cheap for the great quality of the food. If you are in the neighbourhood.. you must eat here!

Outstanding views over the Pyrenees and delicious food/wine. The 39 euros menu was excellent value for money (all the appertisers were stunning surprises, the oeuf parfait was actually really perfect, both trout and duck were cooked to perfection and the black chocolate mousse with a chartreuse heart was to die for and the bottles we opted for (recommended by our lovely, every so kind and helpful waiter) were brilliantly matched to our dishes. Highly recommended

Amazing surroundings! This area is so beautiful that you almost wanna pay just to have this view through your lunch. The food itself was nothing spectacular. We hade the lunch menu 3 courses. First course was a salat with thin slice of duck meat. Had a great taste to it. But third time to have "sand"crackling in your mouth, that is not really ok. Salad wasn't washed probably. The main was fish today. Somehow they totally must have forgotten the salt. It was so tasteless, I could get it down, not even with extra salt. Such a shame. And the skin of the fish tasted burned. Dessert was amazing. Peach pavlova. So big and so tasty and so delicious. Yummy! In total the service was a bit to busy and might be due to poor English skills, but no dish was presented. The menu was only in English. No translation was offered. A bit strange. This might be one of the reasons they are neither BiB Gourmand or having stars.

We came in late on a road trip and even though they had closed for lunch the owner quickly offered to make us plates of various meats, cheeses, and tomatoes which were delicious. The pastries were unbelievable in quality and the best we had during our entire trip. Highly recommend.

Had a beautiful lunch here at a table under the chestnut trees opposite the restaurant. Everything was beautifully considered and served with passion. Wonderful. Lovely shop too.

Great menu with sublime taste, good staff and a very nice view from the terrace by the castle. Would certainly recommend.

The foods was excellent with great service. I was enjoy my dinner with the cozy ambiance. Thanks guys
