Michelin 2-star dining, spa, ski-in/out, alpine rooms

"Legendary status rests on two Michelin-starred restaurants and a family-run spirit that favors character over Courchevel’s default leathers-and-crystal gloss, with gently lit lounges of retro shearling chairs, low-slung sofas, reindeer rugs, and big fireplaces. The eponymous restaurant elevates its roots with both sleek design and wizardly cooking—afternoon tea waffles are transcendental—and Chef Stéphane Buron conjures plates like scallops with corn flower-like ice cream polenta and Arctic char adorned with fine quinelles, snails, and capucine flower sauce. A mountain-lit, revamped spa welcomes steam-and-facial seekers, but the main event here is the madly delicious, comfortingly theatrical food." - Rosalyn Wikeley

"Stéphane Buron, a well-established chef and Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 2004, faithfully perpetuates the heritage of this institution: premium ingredients prepared in time-honoured tradition, a repertoire full of finesse and welcome variations on the classics... fine work! Nowadays they serve a single set menu of five to nine courses that highlights the ingredients of the region, down to the trolley decked with fine mountain cheeses. As for the decor, the interior exudes a hushed elegance: carpeting, coffered ceiling, comfortable immaculate-white designer chairs, modern tables with smoked glass tops. On top of that, charming service and a great wine list." - Michelin Inspector

"Serving a single set menu of five to nine courses that highlights the region’s ingredients—right down to a trolley decked with fine mountain cheeses—this address pairs hushed elegance (carpeting, coffered ceiling, immaculate-white designer chairs, smoked-glass tables) with culinary precision." - Mark Fedeli
"Featuring a Michelin 2-star restaurant, Le Chabichou is in the heart of Courchevel. It features accommodations with private bathrooms, and there is also a restaurant and spa. Free Wi-Fi is provided. The rooms at Le Chabichou feature mountain and contemporary styles and come with a telephone, private bathroom and satellite TV. Le Chabichou’s gourmet restaurant serves traditional French and regional cuisine. Guests can dine in the wood-paneled dining room or on the terrace. There are a variety of beauty and massage treatments available. Guests have access to the swimming pool, steam room and sauna. Additional facilities include a hot tub, fitness room and sensory rain trail." - My Boutique Hotel (en)
"Located right beside the slopes in Courchevel 1850 and with easy access to the resort’s main lifts, the rustic-chic Chabichou is a luxurious family-run hotel with an attractive white exterior and traditional alpine interior. Large, well-appointed rooms have a cosy alpine feel; there’s a two Michelin-starred restaurant to dine in, and a spa – though access to this and the fitness centre isn’t included in your pretty hefty room price. Nevertheless, there’s a wonderfully friendly atmosphere created by the owners and staff, and families are given a very warm welcome. The Chabichou is well located for accessing all the main pistes in Courchevel 1850, and it’s also within easy walking distance of the village centre. There’s the buzz of happy skiers schussing past the hotel during the day, but it’s peaceful at night, and the glorious restaurant means you’ll be tempted to dine in. " - Nicola Iseard
