How I Travel: Anika Noni Rose Dreams of Amsterdam in Tulip Season

"Paris, where once again I stayed in a beautiful hotel and had one of the most amazing meals I've ever had. I stayed at the Hotel George V, and I ate at the restaurant there, not knowing it was a world-renowned restaurant. The place we had first reserved was not friendly and not great; people reserved it for us, and they were being nice, like, “It's the hot new thing.” You don't want the hot new thing in Paris, you want the old thing! I want the one you have to walk down cobblestones and twist your ankle to find. So we ended up having dinner at the hotel, at Le Cinq, and it was delicious, with the most amazing service. Truly phenomenal."

We are blessed and travel extensively and exclusively. We have been to Michelin Star restaurants previously, but none compare to the Le Cinq experience. Every single aspect of this 5 hour experience was perfect. From the by-name greeting (we were also hotel guests), to every associate that touched us…perfect. The ambiance, service, Somms, cuisine, and special touches were world-class. Nothing I can write here will do the experience justice. It was amazing. I will post a number of pictures with this. Take a look at the attention to detail. The next time that you are in Paris, spoil yourself and have dinner here. Thanks to everyone at Le Cinq that made our evening (my wife’s birthday) so memorable. We have been to Paris many times. Staying at The Four Seasons Paris, and eating at Le Cinq is enough reason to visit Paris again. We will!

A symphony of perfection! Every single detail was a testament to precision, passion, and innovation. The interplay of textures, creativity, temperatures, and flavors took my senses to another place!! The lobster bisque with pistachio ice cream, the reinterpreted French onion soup, … every single bite was a true culinary journey. The service? Absolute perfection. Anticipatory yet unobtrusive - every need was met with effortless grace. This was not just a meal, it was an experience that I’ll remember forever. I can’t wait to enjoy this extraordinary restaurant again!

An unforgettable dining experience at the three-Michelin-star Le Cinq, located inside the Four Seasons George V. The room is elegant and spacious, with soft lighting, gold-toned accents, and generously spaced tables — ideal for a special occasion or a relaxed but refined meal. Service is flawless: welcoming, discreet, and never rushed. They kindly allowed photography, as long as it didn’t disturb other guests — a thoughtful balance we appreciated. We chose à la carte but were still treated to a full culinary experience — bread selection, amuse-bouches, and surprises between courses. Highlights included foie gras presented ‘like a pebble’, delicate crab and asparagus starters, and mains like pigeon and blue lobster, all beautifully presented. Our dinner for two came to just over €1,000, including wine and extras. It’s a high-end price, but the overall experience — from food to service — felt well worth it. Tips: Book well in advance. Dress smartly — this is a formal setting, but not stiff. Take your time — the meal unfolds with grace and generosity. If you're looking for a truly special dinner in Paris, Le Cinq delivers on every level.

Google
Truly a once in a lifetime service. 28 years with a Michelin star. 3 stars for the last 11 years. The service was like something out of a movie. Staff was engaging and so polished. Food was on a level I have not experienced in my life. Wine pairing was perfect. This is by far one of the most expensive meals I have had, and worth every penny. Don't go to Paris and miss Le Cinq. It's perfect.

Google
Overall a great experience from start to finish. The staff were extremely friendly without it seeming forced. They did well to bring out the dishes in a timely manner. The food itself was delicious, although there were only a few that stood out as exceptional. This was one of the few 3-star Michelin restaurants that would accommodate a gluten allergy.

Google
Wow!! We loved this as our 1st hatted restaurant. Absolutely amazing for me as a visitor from Australia! Thank you, we enjoyed the opulence, flamboyance and the theatre. Naomi ( our waitress) was so engaging, and we were enchanted. The food was extraordinary and had so many elements. Our Sommeliere was so helpful. She allowed us to have amazing wine at a price that worked for us. I don't think I will ever come back ( price and distance), but, a FANTASTIC one-off experience for those who haven't won Tattslotto.

Google
Man was I excited to dine here... My partner and I spent Christmas in Paris with the kids. I booked Le Cinq because it makes the list of the top 17 Micheline Star restaurants in the world. The food was phenomenal. From the Parmesan waffle (how do you get cheese so fluffy!), butter made at a small farm in Burgundy, to the deserts, and temptation trolly, every dish was a tantalizing experience. That's where the delight ends. You enter the restaurant and are transported to a world where women do not pay, and yesterday's fresh roses are crusty looking yellowing white petals on your tablecloth. The only women in the restaurant were the greeter/coat check, one sommelier, and all the girls in their dresses that carried trays of food to the male servers. We were never allowed to look at the massive wine selection, so we never ordered wine. They set the book on it's own table beside us, then removed the book before we were able to take a look. While I do understand pacing of the chef's menu, it seems reasonable that we order wine 2-3 corses in. The main course was elk, my partner likes his meat cooked through, I ordered the chef's temperature. Our plates were presented reversed. Now here comes the check... My reservation, my dinner, my treat, right? Not here. I was presented with a single white rose while my date was given the check. Embarrassing for him and for me as well. Pretty presumptuous. Overall, I would recommend skipping this one and trying a more modern option in Paris.

Best bread I’ve ever had. Excellent presentation and outstanding flavours. The staff had been incredibly attentive all throughout. They even gave me an instant picture printed out and a little book as a souvenir. Truly a one-of-a-kind 3 Michelin star experience.

Yelp
Le Cing is French and it's literal meaning is Five, which is the 'V' in George V, and five represents the royal succession for the former king George. Le Cinq is the three star Michelin restaurant inside the George V Hotel in Paris. Their website describes as: 'A Paris destination in its own right, Le Cinq by Christian Le Squer is synonymous with the apex of French modern and elegant cuisine, paired with the rarest wines selected by award-winning Head Sommelier Eric Beaumard. Its three Michelin stars are a reflection of the gastronomic experience of a lifetime - in one of the city's most majestic dining rooms.' In agreement with the Four Seasons description of Le Cinq, and as a hotel guest, reservations to dine was imperative. The ten course tasting menu was exquisite; plating presentation was beautiful and superlative. Among the highlights are the amuse bouche, pain et beurre, caviar cones, the seabass with ossetra caviar in buttermilk, Dublin bay prawns, foie gras, decadent chocolat blanc and of course the regional fromagé!! Not including the recommended wine pairings menu was probably a regrettable choice but keeping my mind sharply focus for work the following morning was my reasoning to graciously decline. Service was cordial and exemplary... it's staff of hommes were très beau. Dining at a three Michelin star restaurant Le Cinq was an extraordinary indulgence at a very elegant hotel which earns the iconic 'V' = Five star sensory experience. Henri V aime George V Le Cinq Très Extraordinaire et Exquis. Recommend

Yelp
The dinner at this 3-Michelin-starred restaurant, French gastronomic cuisine located at Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris, France is worth the trip and €€€€! This place looks very chic, well decorated with excellent service! Dress elegantly (no shorts, sportswear), jacket remains obligatory for gentlemen (restaurant will provide you with one for the dinner if you come without). The food is very delicious and creatively plated! We tried THE EPICUREAN ESCAPE MENU (2023) by Christian Le Squer. Everything was delicious. By the end of the dinner there is a little surprise for the couple/ladies :)

Yelp
Tres bien. Ici, tout est toujours très frais. Une vraie cuisine parisienne pour les âges. J'essaie toujours de prendre le temps d'y dîner quand je suis en ville

Yelp
Fantastic experience. The level of service is astonishing. They provided a cushioned ottoman for my wife's bag to sit on! The dining room is beautiful. We had the tasting menu. The food is amazing as expected. But what I love is the entire experience. The servers are wonderful, there are dozens of lovely things that occur throughout the meal that just makes your night. I won't list it all because then it ruins it. If you are into Michelin star restaurants this one should be on your list. SOME photos to follow Thanks!

Yelp
The best Michelin star restaurant I have been to. We booked well in advance and were surprised to learn that three of the restaurants at the Four Seasons hold Michelin stars -- le Cinq has 3 and they are well deserved. Our table was comfortable and we selected a few dishes from the menu. The service was of course extremely attentive and the sommelier was very knowledgeable about the wine list. My only complaint was that the gluten free bread was disgusting -- hard and stale and not acceptable to serve with the prices we paid. This will be on our list every time we come back to Paris!

Yelp
This is the best restaurant in the world, don't come here unless you're really about that life. Come here for the multiple Michelin stars and all the treats they surprise you with along the way that you didn't order and couldn't if you wanted to because some of it is unclear what it's even made of but will change your life. Come here for the steak that looks like a garden and definitely for the chocolate tray with nougat. Always and i do mean always get the signature spaghetti box! Don't order from the cheese tray unless they you really know what's up for real and don't ask any questions about the butter. This is always a 4 figure dinner so expect that. Americans.. Don't come here in your gallery department tee shirt you're embarrassing all of us and they will put a coat on you.

Yelp
Forgot to make a review, but what I could remember.. everything was amazing! Paris has soo many Michelin restaurants, but I wanted something romantic to celebrate a birthday. Upon arrival, you get the star treatment. They even have a seat for your bag. There were so many dishes. The pigeon was amazing! If you love desserts, be prepared for many dessert dishes. I'd recommend for anyone visiting.

Yelp
Of all the Michelin restaurants we dined around the world, I will be honest and say the service at Le Cinq was by far, the best. The hospitality we were given was above and beyond. The ambiance was perfect, it was incredibly romantic. What the staff did for us and treated us was just a magical experience. As for the food, everything was incredibly delicious. The spaghetti was one of the most creative and tasty things we had. Just when you thought the meal stopped, there were more little bites to have. Just an amazing experience all around.

Yelp
First, be prepared to eat. Second, be prepared for 2-4 hours of fine dining. We tried most things on the menu. Everything was 5 out of 5 stars with every attention to detail. While I didn't love everything, most everything I didn't like my wife loved. Something for everyone. The deserts were delicious. We tried every one of them. After deserts came more deserts (save a little room) as I did not and had to take it home. Made for a good late night snack. Highly recommended. We are light and spent $700 overall so it's def a $$$$ on the scale. Worth it.

Yelp
One of our favorite places for dinner @lecinqparis where the food is amazing and the wine list is insane. One of the best #amusebouche is this cheese waffle and pairs perfectly with #champagne . The lobster dish came in a big cabbage and was definitely redefined what a #lobster course is. Of course, we had the Raveneau. It's so hard to find in the US and it's such a deal to drink it here. The food is innovative and the staff is amazing. Thank you for making our trip and night so special. #raveneau #grandcru @lecinqparis #parisfood #pariseats #parisrestaurant #michelinstar #3michelinstars #foodie #foodstagram #foodiesofinstagram #willtravelforfood #livingmybestlife #carpediem

Yelp
The favorite part of our Europe trip was our dining experience here. Best meal, hands down. We walk into the stunning Four Seasons George V into this tastefully decorated place. We were greeted warmly and seated with a view of the breathtakingly-beautiful floral gardens area. The servers pulled out our chairs and gave us a small table for my handbag. Every detail was well thought out. Different shaped plates and utensils to make everything looks more esthetically appealing and appetizing. We chose to dine off the tasting menu. I'm vegetarian, and was told the chef would whip up a menu for me on the day of. I was a bit skeptical as to what could possibly be done to wow me with vegetables? To my delight, he worked some magic that made every bite so memorable I'm still thinking about it many months later. The presentation of each dish was beautiful. The servers opened each dish on the count of three with an arm behind their back. It was formal and pleasant. The courses kept coming, multiple desserts to try. We were here for a bit over 3 hours, feeling full to the brim and very happy that we chose to came here. As an added touch the waiter gave my date a rose to present me with. He took a photo for us and printed it as a gift to take home along with a goody bag of chocolates and baked treats for the next day! You leave this place wanting to hug everyone that made your experience so great, shed a happy tear over your chef's culinary art, and planning to come back as soon as you possibly can!

Yelp
Top to bottom a great experience. We ate our faves off getting caviar before dinner so we opted out of the tasting menu. Definitely sad about it but we'll be back. Instead we just picked their famous dishes and walked home through the streets of Paris. What a dream of a night.

Yelp
We sat down at our table and within seconds were offered champagne. Since this dinner was for our honeymoon, we thought why not? We both taste a rose while different amuse-bouche arrive to delight our palettes. The bread was incredible. We choose a bottle of wine along with the chef's tasting menu. What followed was amazing: several courses inspired from traditional French dishes, but completely reinvented. We especially enjoyed the prawns, sea bass, eel, and deconstructed onion soup. Dessert followed with the most amazing grapefruit dish and then of course chocolate. Service was impeccable. The waiters patiently and enthusiastically answered our questions as we dined on the tasting menu. As we departed, they delivered a flower I had ordered for my wife and the bill. For around 1000 euro we both enjoyed champagne, the tasting menu and a bottle of exquisite wine. Le Cinq is highly recommended for anyone visiting Paris looking for a romantic evening. If you've made it this far into the review I'll share something special with you. What sets La Cinq apart from other restaurants is that not only are you taking a journey through the life and childhood of the chef, but there are moments where the elevated cuisine touches you in unexpected ways. Both my wife and myself found ourselves remembering tastes from our childhood when sampling various courses and we didn't even grow up in France. We were instantly teleported to memories that were comforting through the cuisine and that is how they say, priceless.

Yelp
Crazy good. Amazing service. Went beyond our expectations. Beautiful surroundings...fresh flowers, dim lighting,...even a rose petal heart in the middle of the table for our anniversary. Very elegant. Dress code was upheld. I had the spaghetti entree and onion appetizer. Both were so complex and delicious. My husband had the scallops app and the beef entree. Everything was well done. The courses just kept on coming...so many extras. Everything was delicious.

Yelp
There's not much to say. Everything was superlative and Le Cinq is well deserving of the the 3 Michelin stars in which they've earned and held onto for the past 20 years. We had the pleasure of enjoying the 11 course tasting menu with wine pairing. This meal will take you 2.5 hours and the cost ends up being $850 per person. Fortunately Le Cinq has already thought of everything and the seats are ultra comfy and support the extra long sitting time without discomfort. Also the cadence of the courses comes out in perfect timing so that you are not sitting around too long or feeling too rushed. Truly everything was exceptional from taste and the progression of the dishes, temperature, dining room, ambience and of course service. The only thing that was somewhat off putting was when I called the restaurant to inquire about the dress code and the lady on the phone was somewhat curt. Anyways about the dress code dinner jacket is required, but dress jeans are fine as well as designer sneakers. I hope that if you get the chance you can enjoy this exceptional experience as well.

Andrew T.

Yelp
Spectacular. Service was the best I have ever seen. Waiters made sure to keep the water and wine glasses full, push your chairs whenever to weere coming back, and making sure you were having a pleasant time. Food was out of this world and the wine bottles I thought were very "fairly" priced. All in a great experience though certainly a luxury/ pricey one.

Yelp
There is nothing like a meal here. It was the best dining experience I've ever had. We love Per Se in New York. This was even better than that. We have eaten at other Michelin 3 stars including Epicure on this same recent trip. I didn't expect to be wowed. But I was. Literally blown away by the high level of service that leaves no detail neglected combined with the insanely good food, and an atmosphere that puts you at ease the moment you walk in. Is it pricy? Sure. But it's Paris and it's worth it. I will make it a point to return next time I'm there even with so many places I need to try. It's truly a memorable experience for anyone. Go.

Yelp
Unbelievable meal, such great service and wine as well but the most balanced and light dishes with deep imagination and great flavors. Started off real quick and then eased into a slower progression. Perfect pairings, had some Madeira with the gratin that was a delight and so many little spectacular moments. First thing with champagne was parmesan waffle. So light and airy with good smoky nuttiness. Delicious but less impressive than most of the rest. Began with lobster Amuse with breading (maybe best thing all night), scallop mouselline tart (exceptional but little too bay scallop a flavor, not salty enough for me) and cheese and artichoke bite (too much truffle but still great). Baguette was kinda meh but amazing mustache curls. Buckwheat was amazing, almost homey in warm interior texture but amazing crust formed great shell that went amazing with the Salted beurre. Highlight was the flaxseed cracker/ Biscuit/croissant hybrid. So well laminated. Great textural contrast, good salt level, everything on point. So nutty it tasted like the best movie theater popcorn you've ever had when buttered. So juicy and firm, was one of the best breads I've ever had. Lemon yogurt and radish Amuse was good, nothing super memorable but creme fraiche esque sauce worked well in it. Good herbal notes too. First full course was the meaty prawn (not as sweet as Santa barbaras) with the warm mayo and buckwheat pancake. Pancake was almost Parmesan nutty and very good bend. Sauce was good but a smidge heavy (only sauce all night that was). Not too creamy but maybe too much egg yolk by 4%. Asparagus with buttermilk and seabass had it all. Great tang from the sauce, great acid, herbal bitter notes from the fresh asparagus and meaty raw ish chunks of sea bass marinating below. Possibly my favorite dish, was a really fun and textured plate too. Gratinated onions were ok but my least favorite of the dishes. Very impressive how many preparations of onion they had but not the most exciting flavor pops/ could have used 9% more salt. Very impressive wrapping job and delicious French onion overtones throufht the plate. Truffle, ham and mushroom gratin was the other contender for best dish of the night. Wow, so light and creamy but also firm bite to the ham and pasta. No idea how long it takes to layer each gratin but was worth it! Intense white truffle flavor from the broth and combined with the morels into a beautiful umami essence. Can see what it's what put the chef partially on the map, crazy inventive and so technically proficient to incorporate all that harmoniously. No fighting between any flavors at all. Smoked eel with Rogbrod and potato (with subdued horseradish sauce) looked like the most cute little meat and potatoes dish. Eel was smoked in a herring/whitefish manner, felt like I was eating an open faced fish sandwich at a danish-Jewish deli in heaven. I'm not a fan of horseradish but this sauce almost converted me too. Dairy ice was quite impressive with yeast ice cream and meringue combining into a cooling and deliciously milky granita. Came at the same time as 3 little bites. Strawberry was great, vanilla creme was tasty too but the hazelnut was the best of the trois. Grapefruit dish was next. Rind on the candied part on the bottom was delicious but too chewy for me. Not ma femme though. Top sliver had dill and campari for herbal and Citrus notes that balanced the tart grapefruit. Middle section was fresh and perfect, excellent sauce bled out onto the plate from that and the sorbet layer. Chocolate and peanut butter was great. Nice and cooling chocolate and pb with wispy wafers of pb surrounding. Nice crumble and whipped cream gave the other necessary elements to tie it together. Final dish was the kougin Amann. Amazing but the only dish we couldn't finish as we were bursting. And then the dessert cart came by. Everything was great but the toffee nougat and Absinthe marshmallow were the standouts. Need some more anise sugar in my life now. 10/10, deserves all 3 Michelin stars. Some amazing service that needs to be noted as well.

Tamara K.

Yelp
Amazing! 100 stars! The decor was elegant and tasteful. Full of color and vibrancy yet understated. The staff was so much fun- great personalities with warm and welcoming stories! Loved how beautiful they were dressed. Service was thoughtful, quick, attentive Champagne selection was very good. We had two glasses of rose that was smooth and flavoured. The drink selection included very nice cocktails and sodas. Oh and the tea - very flavourful! The food....OH MY! DELICIOUS! The flavours just pop.

Yelp
Service, atmosphere and food are really impressive. It is once in a life time thing due to the price.

Yelp
Now we are back in this amazing hotel and having dinner on our first night. We have great memories 6 years ago-see previous reviews- so we were very excited to try dinner. During pandemic, they stop serving lunch. We decided to do a la cart since my BF has some food restrictions may needs a lot of replacement. I had prawn for appetizer and sea bass for main which were just amazing. Prawns were soft but a right amount of texture, I put hollandaise sauce a side since I don't like the sauce in general but this one was mild and not too creamy so it worked well with prawn. Sea bass was porched with this cream sauce which was perfect with good amount of caviar. My BF ordered smoked salmon as an appetizer and he ordered lamb for the main both which he enjoyed. I was full but we both ordered dessert and my honeycomb ice cream made from buttermilk sauce was ok. BF got chocolate dish and later brought amazing chocolate cart and I think you can do nice dinner without desserts. Our waiter was very sweet and give guest Polaroid pic at the end with a rose! Highly recommend for the special occasion.

Yelp
Gerard took me out for a gorgeous romantic evening. I got off the bus after work and he swept me away to Paris for dinner, and it was magical. We ate escargot and iceberg lettuce. He is such a gentleman, he put the shells up his nose and was acting like an absolute lunatic! He's so charming, he almost snot rocketed them across the room! Alas though, all his energy reminded me of my past love: Marlon Brando. I become quite distraught over his memory, but I did my best to hide it from Gerard. He knows that Marlon holds a deep place in my aura, but I feel guilty when I think of him around Gerard, especially since Gerard has so much money. He's such a sweet man I don't want to hurt him, but Marlon was and always will be my one true soul collector. I will miss him forever. I certainly wish that I was kissing him under the Eiffel Tower that night, but sadly you can't turn back time. I will feel better in the morning knowing Gerard is still by my side, and he will take me home in his white Mercedes and give me expensive champagne. I have known many loves in my life, but Gerard certainly is #2. The risotto was a little overcooked, but the taste was good.

Yelp
Three star Michelin restaurant. We took the tasting menu with wine pairing. The restaurant looks beautiful, the service is impeccable, and food was spectacular. The only issue we had was that the food-wine pairing was fine, but not great. Incredible experience.

Yelp
Had an amazing dinner here last week during a work trip to Paris. The food was great, however our experience with the waiters and Som were great. They made the experience great and we're really fun. I also liked the attention to detail, particularly when we asked to stagger a course while we took a break and when we asked if we could start the meal after we finished our bottle of champagne. Overall great dinner and we will be back again.

Yelp
Holy crap. This place is a must do on your European fine dining bucket list. Located at the far left end of the (finally reopened post-pandemic in late September) Hotel George V lobby In Paris, Be prepared for a lingering, indulgent and unforgettable evening. Warning - this place can easily set you back as much as €400 pp or more - depending on your wine choices of course. And for perspective, they have a 1983 chateau d'yquem for €3,500 for a half bottle on offer. Perfect for a Russian Oligarch out on a date with an Instagram model. Having said that - it's other worldly. Bite the proverbial bullet and order the Prix Fixe menu. We dined in early November '21 and it was lovely. You'll need proper EU COVID vaccination proof (QR codes only in France - easiest through the AntiCovid app) to even enter the hotel. We were seated right away and immediately offered water and within minutes our fist amuse bouche was delivered. It would take me many paragraphs to describe the courses, but suffice to say that each one was better than the previous. I mean they brought out THREE dessert courses The sommelier was friendly and made several value recommendations that were reasonably priced even though I did not specify a price range. I ended up ordering a Paulliac Grad Cru for under €130 that was truly magnificent. The room is beautiful, the staff is attentive but sensitive to privacy and the ambience is very international as you would expect. Allot 3 hours for dinner. You'll enjoy every minute of it. As an extremely gracious touch, the Executive Chef - CHRISTIAN LE SQUER - who is amazballs came out at the end of the evening and individually greeted each table and thanked us for coming. Sooooo special.

Yelp
Best service of the entire trip. They were very excited to share what they had been doing and were helpful with recommendations. Mostly a younger staff. They steered us away from doing a tasting with wine pairing saying it would be too much food and drink. Apparently it is seven full pours and I couldn't really handle the three glasses we ended up doing. The ambiance was also stunning and comfortable without being too over the top. However, we did call for a reservation and were told they had none and that we needed to call a month in advance. The next day multiple two person reservations came open online. My husband had watched this happen each day so he was pretty sure he would be able to snag a table. Even though we ate early at 7:45, the restaurant was only ever half full. Others might not be so persistent so it is worth checking. Unfortunately, while beautiful and innovative, the food was not as delicious as we had hoped. The bread service, amuse, dessert and cheese were all fabulous. I did not care for the venison with the grilled avocado and the truffle with cheese was sliced so thick it was tough to chew. Do get the spaghetti which sounds like an odd thing and we were going to pass it up but it is one of their specialties and quite surprising. While I wouldn't return (more of a once and done experience for me), I wouldn't deter you. My husband had really high expectations though and for us the food is always the first concern. We will eat in terrible places with poor service for really excellent food and this food was stunning to look at but only half of it tasted as good as it looked.

Yelp
The best service we have ever experienced. The staff was extremely personable and friendly but gave you your space. They made jokes while being completely professional. We were even provided a little seat for my purse! The food was second to none, as should be expected of a 3 Michelin star. A week later I'm still thinking of the first bite. They were able to infuse so many different complimentary flavors into one small course and did it for every course. Don't pass on the cheese, many of them are made specially for Le Cinq and they are phenomenal! When you eventually reach desert, it is another experience with several plates and a desert cart of treats. We are still savoring the amazing caramels they sent us home with. While it is a wildly expensive meal, it is worth it to celebrate something special.

Yelp
Honestly, wow. Just wow. Being a foodie, I've been at a fair share of my high end and Michelin starred restaurants, but this absolutely tops the top of the tops. Granted, this is my first 3 Michelin star, but I have honestly never experienced such top notch service. And honestly, one of the best parts of the service was that everyone was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the dishes, the wines, and extremely attentive to detail, but they were also extremely friendly, accommodating, and non-pretentious. You never felt you were being judged, it never felt stuffy, and you were never too worried about using the wrong utensil or eating your food too quickly, etc. Now as for the food, the menu changes seasonally, so I won't exactly go into detail on every dish, but every dish was refined, clean, and fresh. The food was great, but what truly stood out the most was the dessert and the breads. These were some of the best breads I had in Paris, even after visiting numerous boulangeries, and this is truly what a 3 star is all about. It's about getting the finest quality bread, wine, service, fudge, ambiance, when you originally went for some savory dishes. It's about getting you to enjoy the tomato tartare more than anything you had in France when you don't even enjoy raw tomatoes. It's about never having to worry about asking for more water or not knowing where the bathroom is. We did the lunch prix fixe and I would highly recommend it, but I truly do wish we did the dinner experience. We had one dish in particular that wasn't as enjoyable--a little too earthy, and this would've softened the blow had we had more dishes. It was still a beautifully crafted dish, but I think the flavors on this dish were a little to powerful and potent for some of the customers (I saw a few others make a face when taking a bite of this dish). But overall, this is some of the most creative places in all of Paris.

Yelp
Lunch at Le Cinq. Palace ambiance, yet approachable food and fantastic staff. From the maitre d'hotel to the sommelier, waiter, assistant waiter and everyone else, everyone was engaging and kind, enhancing our experience and make our lunch absolutely memorable. Food didn't disappoint. The four course lunch was exciting and well paced, with additional dishes in-between. Wine list was surprisingly approachable. 2015 St Emilion for €75 was an excellent choice amid a list of 6,000 bottles. Favorite dish was the lamb. Offals were fantastic, so nice to see these parts put at the center of the dish. Sommelier offered us a glass of porto with dessert. Placed at perfect temperature (14 degrees celsius), it was exquisite and a perfect end to a fantastic culinary dream. Chef Christian Le Squer who heads this Four Seasons restaurant came twice to check on us. Very kind.

Yelp
Fantastic Michelin restaurant perfect for more upscale business lunches. Flawless service. Pleasantly perplexing menu offerings that are a blend of traditional French cuisine with contemporary applications.

Yelp
This restaurant and our whole experience was nothing short of spectacular. My husband and I were in Paris for our honeymoon and treated ourselves to a lunch at Le Cinq for our six month anniversary. This was our first time dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant, and such a fancy one at that. The staff was very attentive and they never made you feel stupid, even after I tried to cut into a jelly-like serving dish that I thought was edible. We opted for the 4-course prix fixe, but as you'll see in the photos it was so much more! It was so filling and it made for a very relaxing lunch. Everything was delicious but my favorite would have to be the white asparagus - it was so savory and like nothing I've tasted before. Dessert was oh so good and at the very end of the meal they wheel the dessert tower where you get your own box of sweets to take home. What an absolutely memorable experience!

Yelp
It is only fitting that my 700th review be for one of the most memorable dining experiences I have ever had to date - Le Cinq. We were staying next door at the Prince de Galles so when I saw there was a 3 star Michelin restaurant walking distance away it was really too good to pass up for our first night in Paris. The Four Seasons is a gorgeous property and it only adds to the experience at Le Cinq. Jacket is required for gentlemen but honestly this place is so nice that it makes you want to dress up. I read that you can find equally exquisite cuisine at either a 2 star or 3 star Michelin establishment. The difference is in the level of service. We were absolutely blown away by the level of service once we were seated at the restaurant. No less than 5 different staff came up to us between the waiter, assistant waiter, manager, sommelier, assistant sommelier, runners, it was amazing. They even brought a stool for my wife to set her purse on next to the table. We were not hungry enough to go with the 6 course tasting menu so we decided to go a la carte and I am glad we did as we left absolutely full and we did not even order desert. Before our entrees arrived there were 3 different amuse bouche dishes and some of the most amazing fresh bread. Even the butter was freaking awesome. I thought it was a joke when they brought the wine list over as it is as thick as a Harry Potter novel. After scanning the pages with the help of the assistant sommelier we went with an awesome Burgundy. At 200€ it was nowhere near most expensive wines from this region but it was an amazing selection. Our entrees were both spectacular. I went with the truffle spaghetti "box" which comes stuffed with artichoke and ham with some gold leaf on top over a truffle sauce. Such a decadent and unique dish. The wife went with the seabass with caviar and "buttermilk from my childhood". Needless to say this was one of the most rich, creamy presentations of fish we have ever had. Next we went with a cheese selection which was incredibly impressive. The assistant waiter brought over an immense box which when opened contained an incredible selection of various cheese from around the world. We really enjoyed tasting several different styles from sharp to sweet and could not eat more than one plate between the two of us although you can have as much as you want. We were absolutely too full to even order dessert but our amazing staff sent us some complimentary dessert bites anyway. Of course each bite was so amazing my palate was blown away. After this just in case they wheeled the dessert cart over anyway for us to check it out but we couldn't even eat one bite more. However, our staff wasn't done. They brought us a bag of pastries from the kitchen for us to eat the next day for breakfast and a box of caramels for us to enjoy later. This staff were absolutely incredible and really made our experience special. I have no idea how anyone can possibly go with the 6 course tasting menu with everything else they give you here. Next time I visit we may do the 4 course lunch as this seems like a more reasonable amount of food and seems like a great deal for the price. Overall we were just so blown away by this experience. We've been to amazing restaurants around the globe and Le Cinq is definitely at the top. It is definitely not cheap but it is worth every penny in my opinion. It was a date night that I definitely won't ever forget.

Yelp
Perfection in every way. The menu, decor, service and attention to detail made this meal perhaps the best I've had. Family of 4 for dinner, including 2 younger kids (that are able to patiently sit through a formal dinner). Very classic formal French restaurant (jackets required, even for boys), but the service was attentive without ever feeling stuffy. The price of admission is high, but if you are a foodie and want to experience one of the best dining options in Paris (IMO), I'd highly recommend Le Cinq.

Yelp
I had lunch today at Alleno Ledoyen. They have three Michelin stars just like Le Cinc - I was here yesterday. The comparison stops there. By comparison Le Cinq should only have one Michelin star. Ledoyen clearly deserves their 3 stars. The food is far superior at Ledoyen. I looked forward to each amazing course that was presented to me. The creativity was magical. I would strongly encourage anybody who is looking for a superior meal to choose Ledoyen over Le Cinc Le Cinc seems to be trying to introduce some Scandinavian influence into their presentation and preparatiom. In my opinion it is not working. They should either go all the way and hire someone from Noma to get it right or just stick with contemporary French cuisine. I actually sent one of the courses back at Le Cinq. The flavours and textures seemed out of balance. Even the bread was mediocre at best. The arrogant sommelier tried to tell me that I should like the rose wine that he brought to me. He highlighted why he liked it but didn't understand why I didn't agree with him. I sent it back and he brought me a very nice white wine. They do not here have a by the glass wine list. It seems that you are at the mercy of the sommelier if you are ordering wine by the glass. On the plus side this restaurant is probably one of the most beautiful restaurants in all of Paris. You will be hard pressed to find a restaurant with more beautiful flowers. I don't recall ever seen a hotel with flowers this beautiful. The service was impeccable. It could not have been better! Here's the bottom line. If you want to impress someone with an absolutely gorgeous setting and you aren't that concerned about the food then by all means you should give Le Cinc a try. If you are real foodie and amazing food is what you are after then Ledoyen is for you. It is impressive looking as well but not as impressive as Le Cinc. I give them 3 Yelp stars on a relative basis. The food should be better.

Yelp
My first and most amazing Michelin star restaurant experience. We booked the chef's tasting menu on our trip to Paris. It was romantic, beautiful and nothing short of stellar. We were treated like a king and queen, and I can still imagine the food and start salivating! Have some very fond memories attached to this place.

Yelp
When in Paris on your honeymoon, you need a memorable experience. Le Cinq delivered. It's located inside the Four Seasons George the 5, which is the perfect setting. Elegant and beautiful. Service is top notch. My wife and I opted for the tasting menu. Expensive, but we are celebrating The food delivers. Every course was phenomenal. I was not disappointed. Presentation and flavor was flawless, some of the dishes were innovative in ways I have not personally experienced. Hands down, the desserts stole the show. I usually lean towards savory dishes, and they were great here, but the desserts were on a completely different level. The food is French - so it's heavy. I probably ate 14 sticks of butter. You will be full. Your blood sugar and cholesterol will be off the charts - so go take a nap after. Amazing.

Yelp
Worth the memory. The evening was a gift to my mother, and we absolutely made the most of it. Spent about 4.5 hours having the time of our lives. Yum!!!

Yelp
Hands down one of the best gastronomical experiences in Paris (no easy feat), and one the most well-rounded, comforting degustation menus I've personally experienced. From the delightful amuse-bouche courses to the decadent desserts, every dish was surprising, nuanced and delectable. I would easily rate it among my top five Michelin-rated restaurants in the city. Absolutely worth visiting.

Yelp
Seriously beautiful... housed inside the glamorous George V hotel (even their lobby ladies' room would embarrass a reno HGTV bathroom!), upon entering the hotel... The lobby welcomes you with amazingly tall vases filled with fresh cut flowers (well it's tall to me bc I'm merely 5'1"!! LOL) and don't be afraid to ask for direction to the restaurant... Bc I don't remember where it was, all I remember was this very chic girl guiding us to Le Cinq and gave us a brief tour. We made reservation a few months in advance (Which requires an email on their general website, they will confirm it via email. Then once you are in Paris, they will call you or you can have your hotel call to confirm). It's very important that you re-confirm upon your arrival to the city of light bc they do cancel your ressie... The decor is spectacular! High high high ceiling, large windows, beautiful drapery, and the table settings are just beyond your normal "fine dining" experience (ahem.. EMP!). They even provide a little stool for your bags!! How cute is that?!? I wanted to take it home! Ok - now the food... They were mostly hits... But possibly a few miss... Or maybe because I wasn't a huge fan of the big chunk of fish... Although flaky.. It was too thick. I had the "sea bass" - loved it! and gf had that other white fish.. Can't remember the name. Didn't love it... Most memorable... The ah-mazingly sweet, perfectly cooked (bc if you over cook these babies, you can't quite chew it!), sinfully decadent Langoustines!!! I never knew mating lobsters & shrimps gives you perfect babies! Just kidding! But that's exactly what went through my head. (Had a tough time finding a NYC eats that could perfect Langoustines...). The desserts were epic! It really was like eating some "chemistry" projects but perfected! Ice sculpture looking, yet tastes like clouds... Mmm. Total bill for 2 tasting menu, no wine, about €700... Which at that time, was about $750 USD... ). We love this dining experience and hope they get their 3rd Michelin star! Happy travels Yelpers!

Yelp
We only had time to come for lunch, but it's actually nice to be in the dining room during the day. The setting is gorgeous with a very elegant French feel, and I loved the gorgeous white hydrangeas everywhere. We did a 4 course lunch for €150, which is a pretty hot deal compared to their regular dinner tasting. First amuse: - Parmesan cheese waffle: the highlight for me - Pear truffle - Artichoke and ricotta cheese tart - Wild mushroom bread - it tasted kind of like great pizza crust with mushrooms Bread service: - Baguette - Puff pastry with flax seeds - Salted butter from Brittany Second amuse: Mushroom purée with hazelnuts First course: Tomato tartare with sorrel sorbet and traditional accompaniments, squid ink cracker. The flavor was spot on for the tartare, and the cool sorbet was a nice contrast. Second course: One of their signature dishes - spaghetti gratin with artichoke and parmesan milk. It's individual spaghetti lined up perfectly in a circle around more spaghetti and a creamy mushroom filling. The parmesan milk is super rich and flavorful. Entree: They had a warm smoked salmon or a pork belly, but neither was really my thing, and they were nice enough to prepare a beef dish for me. It was a medium rare beef with truffle sauce and mushrooms, wrapped in fresh mozzarella. Pre- dessert: Poached yellow leach, gnocchi peach (never had this before!), and lavender ice cream. Chocolates: - Lime mousse with chocolate - Cherry flavored: the intense cherry filling inside bursts in your mouth - Hazelnut: my friend described it as an "elevated Ferrero Rocher," which was a great description Dessert: Strawberries with chantilly cream, sparkling granita, popping sugar, and a strawberry tuillex To go: they pack you a cute little bag with goodies for later - kouign amann and a box of candies. It was a great dining experience with very special food preparations. Service was impeccable, and yet the servers had a great sense of humor and were very approachable.

Yelp
By far one of the best restaurants (if not the best restaurant) I have ate in. If I'm allowed to rate it as a 6 stars to differentiate it from my other 5 stars restaurant I would do so. This is a high class restaurant so you are expected to wear a jacket (no tie required) I didn't know that so they lended me a jacket. Before starting with the food the service was absolutely AMAZING. Everyone was joyful and very helpful. We went here for lunch given you need to make a reservation for dinner one or two month in advance. For lunch I recommend making a reservation one week in advance. We went with the 6 courses set menu for lunch. The food portions are generous for these kind of restaurants. Also they provide with additional three small dishes that are not included in the menu. Words won't do justice for the food so I'll leave with pictures.

Yelp
Service was warm and approachable. Food was delectable, as expected for this caliber. The cheese tray was the most impressive! I would say that's a MUST ADD, to the tasting menu. Also, the wine pairing is well done and complimented thee food well. They even give you sweets to take home! Just like other fine restaurants I've been to. As though I could eat another bite!

Yelp
I was here for the tasting menu. Most of the items were very creative. My favorite dishes were the prawns, and venison. I love how tender and juicy the venison was. They did a good job making the meat moist and tender. It melted to my mouth instantly. The scallops and sea urchin combination was very refreshing. The freshness of sea urchin complemented the scallops pretty well. Moreover, the prawns were meticulously steamed. The prawns did not lose any of its favor at all. I was very impressed with their cooking techniques. Furthermore, I like the popping onion soup. I don't know how they filled the onion with soups. But, it was fun popping the onion and had the soup release in your mouth. Let's talk the desserts. My most favorite was the coffee mousse. It was dense with coffee. Delicious! Some of the dishes were a bit strange like they added salt to the jelly. Creative but didn't work. It seemed like putting food into a gelatin form was the theme.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate an anniversary. I always get nervous getting tasting menus as I am somewhat of a picky eater but they were extremely accommodating here. Each meal was meticulously prepared and delicious. The servers were gracious and kind. The flavors in each of the dishes worked so well together. The desert blew my mind. All the vegetables were extremely fresh and the meats were incredibly tender and flavorful. The ambience was nice but not what I expected in a Four Seasons Hotel. It was a bit simplistic tucked away at the back end of the hotel. All in all it was a memorable experience and well worth the money spent.

Yelp
Really good food with a really high price tag. Located inside Four Seasons hotel, this restaurant serves up some really delicately made and delicious food. They have a set menu with 4 or 6 courses. We ordered a la carte: white asparagus, spider crab, and onion soup for appetizer. All were very well played and flavored. Our favorite was the onion! For mains we ordered the veal, pigeon, and turbot. The veal was extremely soft and mushy... it's a texture like no other. My personal favorite was the pigeon. Perfectly marinated. The meat was also very tender! The turbot was also well flavored and extremely tender. I recommend just skipping dessert, as it's not that special. I'm sure you can find a patisserie close by that does it better at a lower price. We ordered the iced chocolate, strawberries and cream, and basal cheesecake. The basal cheesecake was pretty weird... the flavors didn't match very well. The ice chocolate was very rich... like eating a high quality snickers bar. The strawberries and cream with white chocolate ganache was probably the best one. Good balance of flavors and textures. It's definitely not worth the money to order desserts here though. What I appreciate about the restaurant is that they have many complimentary dishes. There's one between every course! At the end they even had complimentary kouign-amann for us to take home. Interior is beautiful and service is spectacular. Very friendly and professional staff. They even count to 3 before they lift the shield off of the food so everyone at the table can enjoy at the same time. It's a pretty exciting and high end eating experience.

Yelp
5 stars easily. It was Easter Sunday and lunch Le Cinq was the perfect way enjoy our last full day in Paris. I had secured lunch reservations online easily (they open them up a couple weeks at a time), and then contacted them immediately when asked to confirm. The space is just beautiful, very classic décor and accented by the 4 Seasons courtyard outside viewed through the floor-to-ceiling windows. My 5 year od son proclaimed the space to be "super fancy". We were treated like very special guests the minute we stepped up the guest desk. The hostess offered to take my shopping bag (chocolate shopping!) and led us to a table overlooking the courtyard. As many reviewers had sad, they bring out a footstool for the ladies purses which I found to be a nice touch. Now I had said in my reservation that my son is 5 years old and they were ready for him. They had mini chocolate eggs "hidden" on the table and brought out the cutest coloring book and colored pencils for him. They doted on him and checked back to ask him how he was doing. For those of you who know us, you bet W charmed the whole staff. I opted for the 4 course lunch, which if you include the amuse bouche and palate cleanser and chocolates, was more like 7 courses. Each course presented well, picture perfect and delicious. The molecular gastronomy of the amuse bouche was beautiful to look at but fun to eat. A large watery molecule, a large red berry burst, a "pizza" branch and a pickle tart. How fun is that? I started with a glass of champagne and decided on a glass of wine during lunch. The wine list by bottle is your standard phone book sized tome, but there is a nice offering of wines by the glass. The sommelier can assist you as well. Then on to the menu--First course Truffled Asparagus. Very subtle truffled sauce over a perfectly cooked (huge) stalk of asparagus. Second course was a Deconstructed Onion soup. Delicious and magical--how did the chef get soup in each small onion? Third course Cod with spinach. Delicate fish, cooked perfectly. Subtle flavor of the fish married perfectly with the spinach and other herbs. Intermezzo. Deconstructed Lemon Meringue. Little bits of meringue and lemon curd beautifully presented, fun to eat. Dessert truffles. In Paris, the chocolate must be the best and these truffles were some of the best I've had. Fourth course. Bruleed banana. Divine Chocolate cart. Yes, brought out more selections of chocolate and each one I tried were amazing. We each got a small box of caramels as well. My son (there is a children's menu) opted for the chicken breast and mashed potatoes. He loved everything and proclaimed the mashed potatoes better than his grandma's but not as good as mine (god I love this kid). I did taste the chicken and mash--I would have eaten his dish too, it was delicious! I need to get a sous vide! And the mashed potatoes were super rich and creamy and definitely much better than what I make at home. Service was impeccable. So many people worked together to give us an outstanding experience. We truly felt welcome and comfortable during the whole dining experience.

Yelp
I'm quite surprised that Le Cinq is only a 2-Michelin Star restaurant because we had a full 3-Star evening & consider it among the best meals we've ever had From the moment we walked in the doors of the Four Seasons, we were immediately greeted & offered assistance. When informing them we were dining at Le Cinq, the doorman escorted us to the restaurant & gave us an overview of the rooms we were walking through - so nice! The hostess then escorted us to our posh table and we were off to a spectacular dining experience. The waiter approached us & confirmed we were vegetarian ( props for recognizing our special request when we booked our rezzies & not making us remind them ) and he then handed us an entire menu with vegetarian options - no hunting around for what would be suitable Amuse Bouche: fried zucchini blossom, crispy radish w diced veggies, egg shell filled w cantaloupe gazpacho & almond mousse Cucumber & tomato gazpacho - this was phenomenal & the pairing of the cucumber w/ the tomato was excellent. We almost thought there was a hint of curry or spice that gave it a slight kick but whatever it was, it was delish Soft boiled egg w/ chanterelles & parmesan brioche w green beans & chanterelles - loved the creamy yolk mixing with the woodsy mushrooms Mushroom risotto w baby veggies - we saw carrots, turnips, tomatoes & peapods. The risotto was pudding-like and smooth like all the best risottos should be. Very cheesy and buttery - we loved this! Cheese Course - huge cart w/ lots of different cheeses. We told the server we preferred stronger cheeses & received: Comte, Roquefort, Camembert & 1 more I cannot remember its name - the portions here were huge & we could have easily shared 1 plate Lemon sorbet & almond foam - refreshing palate cleanser Poached peach w/ salted caramel ice cream, in cotton candy w red berry sauce & little meringues Truffle plate - hazelnut cream on a brownie, tiny macaron & a cream-filled kumquat THEN out comes yet another dessert plate which was an entire cart of assorted candies that they would plate up for us!! Ended the evening with a small gift box filled w/ more of the candies we had chosen - such a wonderful touch & we certainly were thankful we could take advantage of the 20 min walk back to our hotel......we needed to work off this wonderful meal! TOTAL: 2 people 10 courses 2 champagne; 1 bottle wine 3 hours € 900 (including tip)

Yelp
Yup, delicious. Even though the gastropub (bistronomique) movement is going strong in France, one must give credit the the Haute Cuisine. We had to check one of these places out during our week in Paris, and decided to go with Le Cinq. Why not? Located in the George V Four Seasons Hotel on the Champs Elysees, would you expect any less in terms of opulence? There's palm trees in the dining room. Why? Because they can. The hotel is stunning, and the dining room is so over the top (like when you see pretentious fine dining in movies). Sure, the location may look pretentious, and you may run into such people. However, the captain and his team are anything but. Polite, pleasant, and utterly precise - without pretension. We went with the standard tasting since most of the menu was very interesting. However, I had read about Chef Le Squer's trademark dishes - mainly his "spaghetti" which is essentially bucatini built into a little house which contains ham, truffles, and an insane sauce. This was't on the tasting menu but was on the a la carte, but the server gladly substituted the heaviest dish on the tasting menu for this one. Excellent pace on the course deliveries, and when my girlfriend went to use the restroom the captain came by and placed a rose on her plate (evidently they do it for most women, but that night they only did it for her ;) ). She certainly got a kick out of it when she returned. All in all, the food was amazing and the wine pairings are on point. I would definitely recommend this place if you wanted to try a very classic french setting - but with an adventurous and skilled chef.

Yelp
Finally posting a review about a meal from a month ago. Had wonderful time with my husband in this beautiful place. The restaurant is located inside the Four Seasons Hotel, to the right side when you walk in. We were he first ones to arrive for dinner and had the opportunity to embrace the beautiful ambiance of the restaurant. We chose the nine course menu, and I forgot the names of a lot of it, but I'm attaching the photo of the menu! My favorite one had to be the langoustine and the Mayo that goes over it was just heavenly. My husband really enjoyed the venison. For one of the amuse Bouche, we had a truffle filled with scrambled egg. It was such an interesting combination that I did not even think about putting it together. I must say that anything with truffle in it makes it taste 100 times better. The scrambled egg tasted more like a savory cream filling. The dessert was simply amazing. We had about three courses of just the dessert dishes followed by a cart full of dessert where I can pick and choose anything I would want to try from the cart. I was pretty full by that point that I could not take in any more food. The quality of each and every dish was excellent and the service was also top notch. It reminded of the restaurant Daniel and Le Bernardin that my husband and I went in New York City. It came out to be 800€ (about $900) for two of us (without ordering drinks), but it was a magical experience.
