Le Coin - Review - New York - The Infatuation

"The second of three recent openings called “The Corner” (except this one is in French), Le Coin in Meatpacking comes from a French chef. We’re expecting classic bistro fare, like moules frites, entrecôte with potato gratin, and seared scallops. Curiously, the restaurant is a collaboration with Leica, the camera company. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

We had the salmon and the burger. Both were amazing. One of the best burgers my husband ever had. The service was superb. His name is Zohir, he was very friendly and good. Shout out to him!

We have dined here since it was The Chester. Loved going to The Chester, but then it changed. We stop going, but decided to give it another chance this weekend. It started off poorly with a waiter, who then turned us over to Harper. Harper was amazing and saved the day. Great service, personable, and very attentive to our needs and our dog. She deserves a raise or promotion or something. 😁. Then David, I believe director of services came to check on us and our English Bulldog, Bella. He was super nice and wanted to make sure our experience was great. He shook our hands and made sure he got our names right. He is a class act. We will go back and hope that both Harper and David will be there to greet us.

Waited for a friend as he was spinning for an event upstairs and tried a few cocktails. Unfortunately, the kitchen was closed so I’m rating based on cocktails/service. This is definitely an upscale cocktail bar, and the service matched. I got their take on the espresso martini and it was incredible; I prefer them without cream or dairy so you may want to have it without if you’re the same. The whiskey sour was a bit watered down, but okay overall. There was baseball game on, which was fine but I would like to visit when there’s more music playing (I.e., on a weekend). Wouldn’t mind coming back to try out more items from their menu. The interior and outdoor dining area are gorgeous/uniquely decorated 💕

Google
alright pricing. food was alright. everything just alright, apart from the service, that was below alright. asked a question regarding a gluten allergy & got a guess from the waiter instead of going to the kitchen because downstairs was too far a walk. drink was made with the wrong liquor and instead of fixing it we had to go back and forth because he swore the barman said it was correct. it wasn’t. lots of fighting back with the waiter which although frustrating for the server, is not what you’re supposed to do with customers in this industry, rule number 1 in hospitality is: the customer is always right… especially when you’re wrong!!! upon payment we split the bill 50/50, my friend was charged 50% of the total, and then i was mistakenly charged 100% of the total after half had already been paid… which by the way i questioned when it said the wrong amount on the card machine, and again, he insisted. shock horror, fail again.

Yelp
WARNING: Dishonest Bar Practices - Stay Away I came to this bar and ordered an Aperol Spritz. Then I had one more. That's it -- two drinks total. When I asked for the check, they charged me for three. I told them I was a little drunk, sure -- but not drunk enough to forget how to count to two. The manager shows up and starts putting on some kind of theatrical performance -- sighing, gasping, acting shocked like I'm the problem. Honestly, it felt rehearsed, like this is something they do all the time. This is a scam. They assume you're tipsy and hope you won't notice. Then they guilt-trip you or confuse you when you catch it. It's shady, manipulative, and completely unacceptable. You expect a classy experience in a place like this -- instead, you get a hustle. Zero accountability, zero professionalism. Check your receipts carefully -- or better yet, just go somewhere else. There are plenty of bars that won't try to take advantage of you. This place? ZERO trust. Never coming back.

Yelp
This is a classic hotel restaurant in meat packing so you can't really ask for too much. The service is slow and the drinks are expensive but the people watching is great.

Yelp
The deconstructed French onion soup is iconic! & the restaurant's sumptuous interior is inviting and chic.. here's how it went. Ate: French onion soup Bread service Tuna tartare Le burger Veggies du mache Crème brûlée Total: $138 before tip Starting with soup and warm bread was fab. The large pieces onion & melted Gruyère were perfect. The tartare was merely ok and though I loved the idea of the veggies with olive sauce it didn't have enough of a flavor punch. The water disappeared towards the end and the dessert took ten minutes to come out The final insult was the packing of the soup sans the chunky onions. Wine list by the glass looks great btw. I would return for a lunch service when it's started. I was generous because the French onion soup was top tier and I'm a sucker for a great bread service.

Yelp
Came in while waiting for a table at a different restaurant and we sat outside at a table and had drinks and appetizers and everything was great! We had the tuna tartar and the tuna was so fresh! It was a beautiful night so sitting outside was wonderful! Only thing was our server did not tell us the gratuity was included when we paid which was weird since we were a party of 5, thankfully we noticed but if we hadn't that would of been really upsetting.

Yelp
I was looking for a place to perch for a bit after work before checking out The Great Elephant Migration art installation with my sister. It was a bit of a slow afternoon around sunset, so the entire patio was readily available for seating. It was a little chilly, but the space heaters made all the difference. While their food menu wasn't calling my name, I did order a delicious Cab Sav that was absolutely perfect. I found service to be wonderful and accommodating. Everyone that I interacted with so kind and our waiter had a nice balance of checking in with me, without hovering too much. Overall, I thought it was a super cute spot and would definitely return!

Yelp
I don't usually leave bad reviews, but this place earned it. The service was incredibly slow, and our waiter was absent for most of the meal. When the food finally arrived, the waffles were cold, and the coffee had to be sent back because it was barely warm. I asked for bananas on the side--they first told me they didn't have any, then brought some out and tacked on a $3 charge without mentioning it beforehand. Between the poor service and cold food, this was a truly disappointing experience.

Yelp
Terrible service. A half hour after ordering our food we asked its status since the restaurant wasn't busy and we ordered a burger and an omelet, nothing that should take 30 minutes to make. The server said she and the manager were looking in to the delay. Fifteen minutes later after not being updated we decided to leave. The manager said we wouldn't be charged for the two cups of coffee and flat soda. And they really didn't seem phased or bothered since they said, "sometimes this happens". DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Yelp
Brunch was a resounding disappointment. Food (including, French toast, breakfast baguette, and pasta) were bland and rather depressing. Wish this space could find its identity.

Yelp
Really nice bar. Had a drink it was interesting. Need to come back when its warmer to sit outside.

Yelp
This tourist trap turned out to be an epic mistake. The evening began with seating issues that forced us to move. We would soon discover that the new table was even worse. "Deconstructed French Onion Soup". You get a bowl containing a little bit of bland broth and a hollowed-out whole, almost raw onion with the top chopped off, filled with shredded cheese. There are two pieces of darkly toasted French bread half submerged in the broth. The idea is to chop these ingredients into your broth to construct your French onion soup. No one must have told the "chef" that French onion soup is supposed to contain soft, sweet caramelized onions that simmer for hours to create a delicious, savory broth. That's literally the whole point. Whoever came up with this concept must be completely unfamiliar with French cuisine. Now we were sitting under a heater blasting us with so much heat I had sweat dripping down my brow. The bowl of butter on the table for our bread had melted into a liquid and the thermometer built into my cell phone indicated the temperature at our table was 102 degrees. "Duck Shepherd's Pie". It's duck and mashed potatoes. Supposedly there are also truffles but I couldn't taste them under the avalanche of salt that made this dish practically inedible. I refilled our own wine glasses as one would expect at a nice French restaurant...right? After a long wait, someone finally switched off the heater that I asked to have turned down and the ambient temperature at out table dipped into the 90s. "Smoked Duck Breast Salad". A fairly unremarkable salad with more salty duck. The heater kicked back on. I declined dessert and we quickly departed, never to return. The only thing this place has going for it is its location in the meatpacking district where you would expect a French restaurant to be a safe bet. Don't be fooled. If you just want to sit on the patio and have drinks on a nice day, you'll probably be OK as long as you stay away from the heater.

Yelp
Service was terrible. Long wait to order and 40 months mutes to get served. Bathroom was scary dark Portions were minuscule Food was below par and expensive.

Yelp
The service was great and paid much attention to details. The french food was also fabulous, nothing like you can find here in New York! The real artwork this restaurant was curated with is so unique and touching. Would recommend 100%
