Le Cotte Rôti

"A restaurant made very much in the image of the friendly, exuberant chef , who brings a touch of finesse to bistro tradition: depending on the market and the mood of the day, he composes delicious, indulgent dishes that hit the mark! Memories of the slow-cooked egg with leek, Morteau sausage and hollandaise sauce. And there's nothing like a few Rhône Valley wines to accompany the food." - Michelin Inspector

We were a party of 3 with very different tastes. The waiter was very friendly & helpful, explaining the different options available. The food was elegantly presented and very tasty.

The best restaurant I've been to in Paris. They just know how it needs to be done. From food, plating to service and everything. the waiter was very helpful and told us what to expect from each dish and what to order. He also recommended wine and came to check on us a few times if everything was okay. And now the food For starter, I ordered the beef tartar, which was balanced perfectly with the creamy light holadise sauce and the saltiness of the capers and acidity. This was followed by beautifully seared scallops on the outside and tender on the inside, with spinach leaves lemon gel and a delicate coconut sauce. My girlfriend ordered the beef cheeks and they too were cooked to perfection. You didn't need a knife because the meat was falling apart and melting in my mouth. The prices are not higher if you compare it to other similar restaurants, but it was not cheap for us. We paid €120 for 4 courses, 1 starter, 2 mains and 1 dessert, a glass of wine and water.

One of my new favorites in Paris. Amazing wine list, excellent food and welcoming service! We were a group of four and everyone tried to order something different and we were all very happy. I had the Oeuf Mollet Chorizo which was excellent and a tender Onglet with a tasty sauce. The wine list is among the best in Paris and certainly outside of a pretentious Michelin starred restaurant.

Beautifully presented and served food that's good but not exceptional. Lovely location and great staff. Wine is pricey

The chef have his speciality in cooking fish. Plate presentation was artistic and unique. Fois gras was a bit oily but the sauce covering it was a perfect match. They have good house wine too

Very quality good with layers of flavors. Portions on the smaller side and pricey. Bit of an air of arrogance which was a turn-off as came off as dismissive when inquiries were made. Nice wines.

Yelp
Wow!! Just incredible. Great waiter who explained everything in English for us. Great service and the food to Match. Two time Michelin stars winner and easy to see why. I missed the steak in the photos. All were excellent and we all enjoyed everything. Just a fun and incredible meal!!!!

Yelp
Absolutely mesmerizing the presentation and tastes experienced during this dinner experience. Magnificent food option selections, from appetizers to entrees, cognac, wine, and desserts. From the very start, I was able to detect Michelin-level. Sure enough, upon exiting post-dinner, decals were displayed on window of having obtained such recognition in the previous years. Well, they definitely continue to need to be given this honor because everything consumed was extremely delicious. Definitely recommend!!

Yelp
My friend brought a whole large group of us Americans here and we all loved the dishes and the space! I got the sea bream dish, but i cleaned up the mushrooms in the chicken pot from my friends! Would absolutely return!

Yelp
Small cozy restaurant and absolutely fantastic food! I went on my own after a day of meetings and thoroughly enjoyed my dinner. The staff was charming, the atmosphere lovely, the menu original, and the dishes delicious. I had the rillettes de tourteau et crevettes grises (crab salad with little grey shrimp), lotte en croute d'olive (monkfish crusted with black olives) and artichokes and then a high end cheese plate for desert. Pricing wise, they have a set up menu but a lot of the dishes have supplement pricing so with 2 glasses of wine, my dinner came to €68.

Yelp
Very good place for lunch. I was really impressed by the 'oeuf parfait' which was a masterpiece. The chef explains briefly and efficiently the dishes and it was overall a great experience. 26 eur for a 3 course lunch. not bad : )

Yelp
First dinner on my first trip to Paris and I will never forget the Cotte Roti. This is not a typical French bistro. The staff was very friendly even when we arrived at 7 for what we thought were 7:00 reservations. Turns out they don't start serving until 7:30. No problem, we just walked around the neighborhood then stopped for a quick drink in another place. The menu is on a chalkboard, so they describe everything to you. They will speak English if you ask nicely. It was a long trip, so I wish I could remember everything I had, but I know my main course was a veal shoulder. So tender and moist and flavorful. The fig dessert was awesome as well. Its not cheap, but its worth it for a special occasion, like being in Paris! Make a reservation, its not huge, and you don't want to miss out. If/when I ever get back to Paris, I will return to the Le Cotte Roti

Yelp
Absolutely phenomenal dinner. Cotte Roti is on par with some of the best gastropubs in the states and easily one of the most inventive and fun kitchens I've had the pleasure to experience. Foi gras five different ways? Yup, they got that. And they all rock. The wine cellar is deep without being intimidating. Per a suggestion by our consierge, we selected a red from Cote du Rhone, per the namesake, which opened up beautifully during dinner. They even provided a fun decanter to assist. Mains were spectacular and dessert was on par. Try the souffle, it was right out of the oven and perfect. Best thing about Cotte Roti was the staff. Amazingly accomodating despite our poor French, and very well versed in their menu. I will absolutely be back. Cheers!

Yelp
I've been to Paris about a dozen times. This is my favorite restaurant. It's non-pretentious, but Michelin-rated. The waiters takes you on a poetic journey as they describe the restaurant's daily offering. If you're up for a gastronomic experience without breaking the bank, trust me and dine here!

Yelp
First night in Paris, Was a bit apprehensive to eat here, at first because we don't speak French or eat any seafood, but the staff was friendly and took the time to translate the menu into English, and helped us with our French. Most importantly the food was amazing! We ordered ended up ordering duck and lamb and I couldn't have been more pleased! Highly recommend!
