Le Figuier de Saint-Esprit

"Straddling the ramparts of the old town, between the Picasso Museum and the Marché Provençal, this place is redolent of Provence! The fig tree gracing the patio is just the start. At the helm of this family-run country house is Christian Morisset, whose curly moustache has almost become part of the local heritage. With his wife holding the fort front of house, and assisted in the kitchen by his son, the chef loves to cook with fine, tasty ingredients, which he selects every week at the Old Antibes market and the Forville Market in Cannes. His squid-ink cuttlefish cannelloni with a shellfish jus made with fresh basil leaves and his saddle of lamb cooked in Vallauris clay have become real signature dishes." - Michelin Inspector

"Le Figuier de Saint-Esprit Down a cobblestone street and through a stone arch, a narrow terrace and lovely fig tree mark the entrance to Le Figuier de Saint-Esprit. Famous both for hismagnificentmustache and exceptional cooking, chef Christian Morisset guides your appetite on a culinary adventure with creative dishes that zing, like a salty-sweet sautéed foie gras with figs or teppanyaki branzino. The chef’s sweets do not disappoint, either, particularly the wild strawberry parfait and the molten chocolate cake decorated with a white chocolate jasmine tea heart."

A truly charming and elegant spot. The food was exceptional — every ingredient was fresh, refined, and perfectly balanced. You could really taste the quality in every bite. Atile, our waiter, provided outstanding service with professionalism and warmth. This experience absolutely lived up to its Michelin star — well-earned and well-deserved.

One word: outstanding! Excellent service. Beautiful decor. The cuisine is another level of an absolute gastronomic fantasy! Incredible and a foodies paradise. 100% without a doubt - recommended. To boot, the staff, manager Alexandre and Michelin*head chef/owner Christian Morisset are all delightful.

Google
the vintage style of michellin that I love. we had lunch and dinner in two days and it is simply excellent with short menu. turbot and st. pierre fish are excellent with truffle jus. they still follow old style pouring olive oil in your table which not many doing this today. the milk fed lamb is to die for. don’t forget they have a vast interesting wines list especially from provence region. white wines are well selected. we will come back for sure anytime in Antibes.

Google
Very good restaurant. The food was very good. We did the smaller tasting menu and the lamb was out of this work and so were the desserts.

If you are looking for an unforgettable travel experience in a starred restaurant in Antibes, I highly recommend you try one of the other restaurants. The main course was very generic and not particularly twisty, as you would expect from a brasserie, and the dessert was like a block of ice cream that was too big. The price was over 70 euros for something that you can enjoy for 25 euros in Nice. And the restaurant left a bad impression, with pebbles on the floor, unstable tables and overflowing cocktails. Don't be fooled by the Michelin star.

Disappointing! A very limited choice for starters (only 2) made us go straight to the main courses First of all the turbo, a nice memory of the terrace of the Juana hotel, unfortunately tasteless truffles (normal for the season) which would certainly deserve to adapt this dish to take it into account, on the other hand the cannelloni with cuttlefish served too cold to fully appreciate them. After a very simple sweet appetizer, the dessert with 5 chocolates is a disaster for chocolate lovers like me. An unacceptable dessert in a Michelin star. The same goes for the very old-fashioned restaurant room with a view of the entrance to the kitchen and a wall of wine cellars After the long discussion with the chef they offered us the dessert with chocolate and mango and two digestif. This dessert was ok and not more.

Yelp
This place was delicious, plenty of food for a Michelin restaurant and staff was wonderful. Everything was excellent.

Yelp
The Michelin star is richly deserved. We had the eight course tasting menu. Each time we thought they couldn't outdo themselves, they did. Plus, the place is beautiful, the people friendly, and the service like clockwork. A real hidden gem.

Yelp
We had a wonderful dinner here last night! This one Michelin star restaurant is located in old Antibes, a few blocks off the port. Make reservations in advance as they always fill up. The chef used to work at a two Michelin starred restaurant in Paris and has brought his craft to Antibes. The menu is small but each dish has an exquisite amount of detail. They bring out a few little bites to whet your appetite: a tomato bread, onion toast and foie gras. The star of the meal was the turbot with a potato and black truffle crust. The fish was topped with a veal jus, which may sound bizarre, but is something the best chefs in the world do. A meat sauce on a fish is an incredible thing! Desserts weren't as good as I had hopped but the chocolate molten cake and creme brûlée were the stand outs. Service was a bit slow. We finished our wine before the appetizers arrived, so know this will be a long meal. That's how they do things in France.

Yelp
Wonderful evening. Attentive staff, great martinis, wine list and food. Recommend the blue lobster. Decadent. My only complaint had nothing to do with the restaurant specifically - just wish patrons looking for fine dining would dress up a bit. Jeans, shorts, tank tops should be forbidden. Not asking for ties - a jacket and a dress would be appropriate. Enjoy!

Yelp
Beautiful 1-star restaurant in Old Antibes by the sea. Went here on Easter Monday evening to celebrate my partner's 40th birthday. I'm vegan, he is not. We reserved a couple of days ahead of time and let them know about my requirements. We received a warm welcome from several staff members. The dining tables are situated under a big, lovely fig tree. You can see what's going on in the kitchen via a tv screen. Our various servers were very attentive and the chef came out to say hello. They made me a special vegan menu -- they were very attentive as to the ingredients used (they even checked for the chocolates served with dessert) -- and checked in with us often. My meal was yummy, essentially a lot of simply prepared vegetables - steamed and/or roasted, I think? I won't lie, I was expecting something more tasty, with more umami - fancy sauces and stuff - but actually this allowed me to appreciate the flavour of the individual seasonal vegetables. It was a good experience. We left totally stuffed so come here with an appetite. Overall a lovely experience, the kind of thing you need to do at least once in your life, if you can.
