Where to Eat in Paris in 2025

"Set within the newly reopened Grand Palais, this grand restaurant pairs a spectacular terrace perched on original mosaic floors and soaring columns with an opulent dining room of marble, mirrors, and velvet; live jazz elevates evenings. The menu ranges from salads to seafood platters, and the drinks program benefits from the presence of famed bartender Colin Field behind the bar." - Mary Winston Nicklin

🍽️ Food: The food was excellent — we loved everything we ordered and the quality was spot on. Unfortunately, the kitchen forgot our salad and one of the mains, and we weren’t able to flag it as our waitstaff was quite busy. By the time we could, the lunch seating time was nearly up. 🧑‍🍳 Service: Our waitstaff was very sweet and welcoming. Although she was clearly stretched, she stayed kind and had a genuine smile throughout and even let us order dessert close to the end of our seating time, which we really appreciated. 🌿 Atmosphere: Charming and pleasant vibe, though the 1.5-hour seating limit for lunch felt a bit rushed. 📌 Note on dress code & reservations: We had seen some reviews mentioning strict or selective entry, but we saw several guests in casual wear with backpacks being let in without issue — it seems as long as you have a reservation, you’re good. Overall, a great spot with amazing food — we’d happily come back, hopefully with more time to enjoy it fully.

Amazing experience. The food was very good. This place is one of the most beautiful terrasse in Paris. Service was exemplary and very warm.

Had lunch the month it opened. Pros: Food was delicious, Service was impressive and the views were stunning (seated outside and overlooking Petit Palais). Cons: If your seated outside, it can get windy. So not ideal for pictures (especially if you have long hair). 😕 And can get chilly depending on weather. Wear layers.

Amazing dining experience. Very pleasant staff with good recommendations! Desserts were to die for, best Pavlova I ever had!

Beautiful setting and good food, but the service was terrible. Staff were pushy, constantly urging us to order more, and cleared our plates while we were still eating. After just 1h20, they brought the bill and a card machine without us asking — saying we hadn’t ordered anything in 30 minutes. They even started setting up for the next guests while we were still at the table putting the plates almost on my head. Shame!

Le Grand Café, nestled in the former archives of the renovated Grand Palais, is Paris’s new hotspot for elevated traditional bistro cuisine. Run by the acclaimed Loulou group, the restaurant dazzles with its elegant, light-filled interior designed and its show-stopping terrace offering stunning views of the Petit Palais—easily one of the city’s most beautiful spots for dining al fresco. Chef Benoît Dargère reimagines classic French dishes with finesse, featuring fresh ingredients and generous portions, from mimosa eggs and beef tartare to indulgent desserts In short, Le Grand Café blends heritage, modernity, and culinary excellence, setting a new standard for chic Parisian dining that rivals even the top establishments of the 16th arrondissement like the Flandrin

Le Grand Café at the Grand Palais might just be the most beautiful restaurant in Paris today. The interiors are stunning, but the terrace — with its breathtaking view of the Petit Palais — is truly unforgettable. And yes, the food lives up to the setting. Classic French brasserie cuisine executed to the highest standards. A must-do for anyone looking to experience timeless Paris with style and substance.

A slice of Parisian elegance in every detail. Grand Café Paris is a beautifully curated experience. The atmosphere feels effortlessly elegant with soft lighting, classic French décor, and refined touches that evoke the charm of a timeless Parisian brasserie. The service is impeccable, attentive, gracious, and professional. I had a salad and the tarte fine au tomates: both were beyond delicious, perfectly balanced in flavor and presentation. Ideal for a romantic evening, an elegant lunch, or a special celebration. A true gem that captures the soul of Paris, I’ll definitely be back.
