"La Maison des Bois - Marc Veyrat operates out of a chalet in Manigod. Run by Marc Veyrat, the kitchen embraces and elevates local wild produce. As a passionate botanist, Marc Veyrat enhances the Savoyard herbs and flowers he gathers from the wild, and combines creativity, authenticity and refinement to offer customers an unforgettable experience." - Aaron Hutcherson

"Following a standing ovation for the late Chef Paul Bocuse – The ‘Pope’ of French Cuisine – Chef Marc Veyrat's La Maison des Bois in Manigod in the Alps won its third star, after being awarded a second in last year's guide. This is now the third time Varyat has received Michelin's highest honour and comes three years after the restaurant was gutted by fire." - Colin Ho

We had an amazing stay with the Veyrat family. The location is remote and gorgeous, the chalet super comfortable and spacious for a family of 4. The dinner experience is one of a kind. 3 stars level, une ode à la gastronomie française, loads of creativity and incredible Alps herbs discovery. The best comes with the morning breakfast, yes, you'll be hungry enough to discover this magnificent last journey. All welcomed by Marc Veyrat himself, making the moment unforgettable as you feel you're welcomed in their home. Kids more than welcome, our had a blast and special treats.

We stayed 1 night at La Maison des Bois in their suite Gentiane Jaune which was a part of their package offer "Logis bien-etre" upgraded with a suite. The 2 floored suite was situated just outside the reception entrance and the restaurant terrace. At the back it had a furnished terrace with an magnificent view towards the Les Aravis, Mont Blanc, Aguille and more. Charming stylish furnished and decorated rooms, very nice bathroom, 2 WC, comfortable matress, perfectly cleaned everywhere, equiped with coffee machine, bose sound, tv, fireplace etc. etc. The only thing I missed was a shower-curtain or glass door in the shower as the floor became flooded. Anyway, what an fairytale these 24 hours became from arrival to departure! Best food experience ever! Best breakfast ever! Best massage ever! Best everything! Merci beaucoup, Monsieur Marc Veyrat, et à votre team!

The hotel and restaurant has a wonderful location at the high of a small pass road with breathtaking views over the mountains. Surrounded by the gardens where a lot of the used vegetables are being grown, it is the perfect location to enjoy the mastery of Marc Veyrat´s cuisine. However, the prices are over the top - not only for the meal (which I would even consider reasonable compared to the exquisite quality of the dinner) but more for the rooms, which are totally, totally overpriced. Still, if you want to enjoy Marc Veyrat´s cuisine, you might not have another choice.

I've been in Marc Veyrat's former restaurant in Megeve, something like 9 years ago. It was astonishing, magnificent, beautiful, perfect. "The" best possibile meal (and I've been, to name one, to El Bulli).||I felt sad when I knew about what happened to him and, as soon as I knew he re-opened in Manigod, I called and reserved.||I arrived around 7.30 p.m. on Jan. 3rd.||The "butler" came to pick us up in the "main square", because he felt it was dangerous for us to drive up to the Maison Des Bois.||The experience is... shocking!!!||The atmosphere is the opposite than the one in Megeve. Over there, it was the perfection of the formal meal. Perfect.||Now everything is "human" and it was the only thing that was missing in the Marc Veyrat's package.||Dishes, room, menus... everything is still the best, but now Marc Veyrat comes to you, explain everything, helps you... in other words is just great.||He explains you the dishes, lets you try the single herbs... the dinner was more than fantastic! Please don't miss the foie gras yogurt amongst the appetizers, the virtual egg (wow!!!), the sea bass, the caviar with artichoke cream, the veal cooked 48 hours, the pastry at the end... I cannot keep up with all the "must taste" you will find in the menu (that is over 20 courses...).||The room is as warm as you can get and the night sleep was fabulous.||Now... breakfast. They say, on the site, that it has been named "the best breakfast in the world". Well.. they are wrong. I am pretty sure that this is the best breakfast in the whole universe!||You cannot find a quality like that in any breakfast you've ever tried...||I am so happy Marc Veyrat is back. Now I just wait for the three Michelin stars and the 50 best number one, to have him back where he deserves, right on top of any list in the world!

Been a fan of Marc Veyrat with annual pilgrimages since 1986. Every dish is a work of art to look at and unexpected explosions of tastes to savor. Each meal a wonderful journey. Worth every penny & centime, and kilometer of travel.

Perfection in quality in taste and presentatin. Hard to beat and the Michelin guide is so wrong to upset Marc Veyrat with only two stars when worth 4 stars for decades being exceptionally superior to all the others Carry on do not give a f.CK to stupidity and thank you for sharing your culinary art as super Chef Pro who knows...

Dining at the grand magician of all chefs at the new restaurant maison des bois in Manigod. Some of the 20 dishes we had and enjoyed. There is a full review detailing our visit by me. It was really a symphony of senses.
