Valley Club: Sleek New Hotel Bar Just Opened From a Cocktail Pro | Eater SF

"The 18th Street bakery reported a Friday, June 13 burglary in which the perpetrators reportedly placed “an explosive on the window,” a development the owners, Patrick and Joanna Ascaso, shared on Facebook to alert their loyal customer base; the incident follows another setback for the family after managers at the Ferry Building informed their sister business that its lease will not be renewed." - Paolo Bicchieri

Best Breakfasts in San Francisco | Eater SF

"Le Marais’s Castro neighborhood location serves a full menu of French breakfast fare plus, of course, a spread of freshly baked pastries. Choose from options such as a cheesy croque-madame, several types of omelets, French toast, quiche, or avocado croissant toast. Plus, there’s a selection of coffee and espresso drinks to enjoy alongside your leisurely morning meal. For a quicker experience, try the Ferry Building’s sister location, Grande Creperie." - Matt Tillquist

Although imperfect, Le Marais is a solid spot to grab a bite for brunch with some friends. I had mixed feelings about some of the food. The freshly prepared food was quite nice, but the pastries, I’d consider only to be okay. Your mileage may vary on seating, depending on when you show up. For the group I was with, it was quite a challenge to find enough space for our group to sit and eat. That said, when we decided we did want to stay, the staff handled a couple of us switching our orders to dine-in very gracefully. If you’re here when it’s a little less busy, you might not have the same issues. All things considered, it’s definitely a solid spot to check out.

Amazing! Bakery items were super fresh. The place is a French-style breakfast spot. I had heard a lot about it, so I wanted to give it a try. I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I said the freshness and taste were close to the bakery goods I had in Paris. Definitely give it a try!!!

🥐 The Great Croissant Debacle: My primary reason for visiting Le Marais Bakery was their much-hyped gigantic croissant, supposedly the largest in San Francisco. However, upon ordering, I was informed that it requires a minimum 48-hour advance order! This crucial information was nowhere to be found on their website or in the article that touted its size. This was incredibly disappointing, especially after a considerable drive. 🥐 Regular Croissant Quality: To get a sense of their baking, I ordered a regular croissant. It was dry and lacked any of the buttery, flaky goodness you expect from a decent croissant. A complete letdown. ☕ Service Issues: The service was far from satisfactory. The staff member I interacted with was not particularly helpful. Additionally, despite bringing our own reusable coffee cups, our coffee took an inexplicably long time to be served, arriving after other customers who had ordered after us. This felt disorganized and inconsiderate. 🌐 Misleading Information: The fact that the 48-hour pre-order requirement for their signature item isn't clearly stated online is a significant issue and a major inconvenience for customers. 👎 Overall: My experience at Le Marais Bakery was thoroughly disappointing. From the misleading information about their advertised specialty to the subpar quality of the regular croissant and the poor service, I cannot recommend this bakery. Save your time and look elsewhere for your pastry cravings.

If you’re looking for that perfect summer brunch spot that feels like a sunny getaway, Le Marais Bakery in San Francisco checks all the boxes. The café itself feels like a slice of summer in Europe — bright white walls, pops of blue, sun-drenched corners, and leafy plants that give off total Santorini brunch vibes. It’s the kind of place where you can sip on a hot cappuccino lose track of time, and pretend you’re on vacation. Loved The Pain Suisse.Think about layers of flaky, buttery pastry hugging rich belgium chocolate and silky cream (not sure about it’s ingredients though) — each bite perfectly balanced between indulgent and light. It’s not just a pastry; it’s a moment. Crisp on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth on the inside. Next time would love to try their proper brunch menu, so many options to choose from.

What a gem! Service was warm and friendly. Lots of good breakfast options. Adorable design and decor — it really did feel Parisienne. Great place for working too, with good wifi, outlets, and nice soft music.

We had family breakfast, it was delicious. Enjoyed it so much. Highly recommend to have a good food and some amazing pictures 🤳📸

Google
This is my new fave! Amazing pastries. I got the Jambon with Gruyere with a cappuccino. Soo delicious. Soo flakey. Sat down and did some work on a week day. It was busy, but not crowded. Not loud either. The vibe is perfect.

Google
overhyped and overpriced for the mediocre crèpes. Nutella crèpe only has the crèpe and nutella, nothing else for $12 I at least thought it would have some fruits or something but it was simple, and the smoked salmon crèpe my friend ordered was also really simple for its price. The place looks really nice but the food wasn’t, maybe their pastries taste better

Yelp
Finally here! We went to MISSION/CASTRO cafe. 498 Sanchez on 18th street Bay Area. There is a lot of street parking around the store. We went there around 9am. They have some tables inside and outside. We ordered at counter. We ordered Bacon Gruyère Croissant Egg Toast and cappuccinos and croissant. Everything so delicious and fresh! Definitely I go back there when I visit SF.

Yelp
This is quite a popular spot in the Castro for even a weekday lunch. My guess is that people in this city are so addicted to croissants that they're willing to queue up at any place willing to make them fresh. I don't think the croissants here compare favorably to the ones prepared at Ariscault, but I also don't think anything stands between a hungry customer and a fresh croissant. Me? I came for a salad. A noble decision I know, but I diminished my health conscious intentions by ordering the $18 Sesame Chicken Salade (photo: https://yelp.to/xzrXx4dgv4). It was a rather abundant and excessively dressed bowl of organic chicken, Napa cabbage, romaine, daikon, radish, crispy rice noodles, cashews, and hoisin plum vinaigrette. Although the ingredients were good, there was a problem of muchness in putting them all together. The other frustrating aspect was the long wait for my salad. I can appreciate a busy staff, but I truly believe my order slipped through the cracks because other tables were getting their food on a more timely basis. Mine was just a salad for Pete's sake. FOOD - 3 stars...a problem of muchness in the execution AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...they definitely have the Parisian vibe down SERVICE - 2 stars...I can't say I was impressed TOTAL - 3 stars...maybe I should just get a croissant RELATED - Exploring the Castro? Yelp
Unfortunately had a slightly disappointing experience when I came with my friends for a Sunday lunch. This review is based on a dine-in lunch rush hour; i would recommend getting food to-go and/or coming at times when it's less busy. You place your order at the counter first before getting seated. The place is seat-yourself first-come first-serve which created a very stressful environment . People behind us who hadn't placed an order were rushing to grab seats over those ahead of them...and we ended up standing around with our number sign for around 20 mins, hovering over people eating, to grab a seat. we then waited an additional ~45 mins for our food: two crepes and a burger. surprisingly the french onion burger came out first - the fries were good but the burger meat was a little dry. the portion was big though and i took half the burger home to go. we also got the croissant and pain chocolate - both were great! would just recommend getting pastries to go I think there are a lot of cafes and restaurants that have a seat-yourself type model but this place was not as organized or clean. Our tables were not wiped between customers and we had to bus the previous customers leftovers.

Yelp
Amazing service and baked goods served daily with delicious coffee drinks. Nice clean restroom available inside. Beautiful front porch patio for outdoor seats. Good morning atmosphere and ambience with great music to brighten your day.

Yelp
DEEElicious pastries and foods! Eggs Benedict on a buttery croissant - one of the best i've had. Good coffee and friendly smiling service. You feel like you're in a European cafe. The clientele are also friendly as it feels like a neighborhood spot. It's dog friendly and they make friends too ;-)

Yelp
I came here this Wednesday and ordered a latte and a 5-item bistro board. While some of the food items are decent here, the unsanitary conditions, poor service, and bad coffee contributed to a disappointing overall experience. I would honestly rate this place a 2.5/5, although I had to round to 3/5 here. The latte was poorly made and did not taste good at all. I do not recommend the coffee here. For the bistro board, I got a croissant, tomato salad, smoked salmon, yogurt, and fruit. When I asked the staff at the counter what's in the tomato salad, she just said tomato and vinaigrette, but that was not true at all because there were also cheese slices in it. If she didn't know the answer, she should've been truthful and not lied. After trying my bistro board, I'd say the highlights were the croissant and smoked salmon. The croissant was pretty good and flaky, although it's definitely not as good as an Arsicault croissant. The smoked salmon was also good, but I had to remove all the capers from it. Had the menu mentioned there were capers, I would've asked for no capers. I recommend the restaurant to update its bistro board menu to be more descriptive because it's currently inaccurate. The worst things here were the unsanitary conditions and poor service. No one cleaned the table we got seated at. When a staff member came over to give me my latte, she saw how dirty the table was with random food crumbs and dirty used tableware from the prior patrons. Instead of cleaning the table, she carelessly placed my latte on top of some dirty food crumbs. If this was how dirty the tables are, I can't imagine how unsanitary the kitchen may be. My friend and I were so put off by how dirty this place felt that we don't think we'll come back again.

Yelp
While I've only enjoyed Le Marias's food from the comfort of my own living room, I'm a huge fan of their offerings. My go to breakfast item is their Egg White Omelette with their delicious cafe mocha as my beverage. I tend to also order a few of their croissants and other pastry offering to snack on over the next few days. I can't recommend them enough if you wake up hungry and want to enjoy a fresh and healthy French breakfast.

Yelp
This bakery is huge with indoor and outdoor seating. The vibe is very old school so you enjoy the big lights and laid back atmosphere. The coffees are delicious and my order took no time at all to come out. The pastry selection is excellent! There are so many beautiful creations that it is hard to choose. The simple chocolate chip cookie was amazing! Perfect coffee-cookie combo!

Yelp
Always wanted to stop by this place as It is very visible on the corner in between the mission and castro. Tried the pain aux raisin (raisin croissant) and was pleasantly surprised that it was not too sweet and very soft with a great not too hard crust. And since you have to order a latte with a croissant I did just that to dip in little pieces of my bread. I miss Europe and this feels very European. I like that you pay in the beginning though and then find open seating. It started getting busy around 9 am. I stopped in around 8:30 with 1 person in front of me in line. Would absolutely be back and recommend this spot. The latte was also medium strength but smooth and had lots of foam!

Yelp
Great food, service, and vibes. I came by for mid-afternoon snack while apartment touring and this place singlehandedly made me want to live nearby! I asked the cashier for a recommendation and they pointed me towards the Croques Madame. While I'm usually not a fan of runny egg yolks, this sandwich was the exception. The egg was perfectly balanced with the gruyere and ham, 10/10. After this, I went inside again to also get a sparkling water and plain croissant. Also on point. I didn't know I could enjoy a plain croissant so much. Wow. Regarding the service, also great. They made sure to bring me a glass of ice since they noticed I elected a sparkling water flavor that was only available at room temperature. While their was no seating available inside at first, I was able to slip into a table for the second half of my meal. There is a nice ambiance and quality seating (when you find space!). Would recommend and will be back!

Yelp
I waited over 25 minutes for my food order and witnessed about 4 other tables received their food before me, who places orders after mine. I never received a side which I was charged over five dollars for, which reflects poorly on the quality of service. Additionally, our side salads were brought over when we were nearly finished with our meal. Lastly, the burgers were delicious but the croque was dry and boring.
google avatar

Sherry D.

Yelp
Seeing how this cafe was filled with lots of people occupying the tables made me think that this brunch place will be very good, but it did not live up to my expectations. I did take into consideration that food will take longer to come out due to having lots of people seated, but I think that it's unreasonable for having to wait almost an hour for the dish, French Onion Burger, to come out. For the taste, the fries were average, the burger patty was on the dry side, and there was no taste of French Onion flavor anywhere. It just tasted like your standard hamburger. The dish, Forestière, was better than the French Onion Burger, but it just tastes okay. Overall, the food was mediocre. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't outstandingly delicious either. I have had better brunch foods at other restaurants before than this restaurant, but maybe I will try their other dishes next time to see if they're better.

Yelp
By far one of the best croissants I've had in San Francisco... if not the actual best. It's a close tie between theirs and Arsicault!! The chocolate croissant was very buttery and flakey, but had a nice chew to it. And the dark chocolate they use-- YUM. I can honestly say, their pastries are comparable to the delicious ones you can get in France! Ambiance was great-- not loud or overcrowded. Service was also very kind. I had my croissant heated up/toasted, and saw them take it out of the oven but it was more burnt. So they immediately heated up another one for me without even trying to push the burnt one onto me. Goes to show, they only serve the best for their customers!

Yelp
How is it possible that I haven't reviewed Le Marais recently? What a phenomenal place! Their croissants and pain au chocolat are amazing but a revelation for me was the financier. The food is epic, especially the croque. We have ordered a variety of croque sandwiches multiple times for parties, for potlucks, for picnics in the chilly San Francisco wind. They are always appreciated. We cut them into 6 pieces to make them into finger food. Wonderful place, we are so lucky to have them in our neighborhood.

Yelp
Gorgeous, local French Boulangerie , Patiserie and Creperie, bundled all in one, serving up exquisite baguettes, pastries, desserts and crepes! Love the authentic and diverse menu, serving up an array of gorgeous French delights. The ambience is incredibly French with outdoor cafe seats, reminiscent of Parisian cafes! Love the friendly service and the central location.

Yelp
Came here before work with the family last week. Le Marais has been on my radar for awhile and I'm a bit upset I didn't visit sooner. We initially wanted breakfast only but ended up taking some pastries to go. We ordered one La Complete, one Croque Madame, and we got two pain au raisins and one pain au chocolat. The food was quite good. The pain au raisin was a favorite at home- my mom, who's been avoiding sweets, ate the whole thing in one sitting. Definitely gave us some Parisian vibes. If you're missing Paris (or just want a little coffee & croissant), drop by Le Marais! Merci beaucoup Team M! A bientot!
google avatar

Cece Y.

Yelp
Very friendly and inviting service, a bustling atmosphere on a Saturday at 2:30, and satisfying brunch. 3.5 stars for the La Complete crepe, which was good but I recommend the Jambon crepe instead because it's the exact same dish minus the egg -- and the egg doesn't add anything flavor-wise to the crepe. I've also tried their bakery goods at their other locations, as well, which are superb (especially their Bouchon and Chocolate Chip Cookie). One single-stall restroom available. Their best baked goods often sell out by noon, so come early for those.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
Came here right before closing and they were so nice and welcoming! They politely informed us that we couldn't sit in since it was almost closing but were eager to get our pastries to go! They were super kind and happy to recommend pastries. They had some cute tables outside for patio seating and tables inside too!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great place for weekend breakfast brunch lunch! We got some coffee and pastries. I wish we came for a full meal. It all smelled delicious. The servers were excellent at recommending something for us and the owner was so friendly making sure we got a good/clean table at a busy hour. Lots of locals grabbing their brunch or a quick coffee to go, I can't wait to come back here and try more
google avatar

Jean L.

Yelp
One of the best croissants in SF. IMHO, only second to Arsicault's. I do love Tartine, Craftsman, Bernal Bakery, etc but the butter density and execution here is superior. The dough is more like flat sheets of butter interspersed with flour instead of bread-ish dough. This is how it should be! You'll get butter residue on your fingers. This is how it should be. The almost croissant and choc chip cookies are also delicious.
google avatar

Laure H.

Yelp
Amazing!! This place put me in an amazing mood after a delicious cappuccino, ham/cheese/egg omelet, and a pain au chocolat. The pain of chocolat was AMAAAAZING. The best I've had in a long time, even better warmed up. Highly recommend this cute lil bakery.

Yelp
Just checked this French spot for brunch recently and really like it. It's light and not loud. It was pretty packed on a weekday noon and I noticed that it's popular among those who like to work at the cafe. I ordered eggs Benedict on a croissant with salmon and it was really good. My friend ordered a board with 5 different components and also liked it. Service was fast, the only thing the tables could not be ready right away when the place gets busy. Overall I liked this cute place next to Dolores park and I'll definitely come here to try their baked goods as they looked so delicious!
google avatar

Naomi W.

Yelp
Lots of patio seating outside and quaint cafe inside, although the floors looked a little dirty and the girl wiping down our table just seemed to wipe everything onto the floor. Walking in, wasn't too sure if it was table service or not, but looks like you just order first at the counter, get a number and find your own seat. Also grab your own water and cups. Food was good, large portions, but nothing out of the ordinary. Two friends had the smoked salmon and mushroom/cheese crepes, another had the avocado croissant toast, and I had the eggs benedict with prosciutto. Felt like I should've had the smoked salmon option for the eggs benedict instead of prosciutto, it just didn't taste as flavorful. But the croissant underneath was very flaky and buttery.

Yelp
This is an amazing place for a nice chill brunch/lunch! The restaurant is so bright and cute, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. I ordered the club and it did not disappoint. The bread was phenomenal, the meat was out of this world, and the fries were so crispy and flavorful as well. My one slight gripe is that I asked for no mayo and they forgot to take it off, so I ate my sandwich with only the top part of the bread. Not the end of the world, but kinda annoying. I also had an almond croissant and it was super tasty! Overall though this place is amazing and I'd highly recommend it!
google avatar

Yelp
worth the hype - my food and coffee were both 10/10! love the light, parisian decor and although it is packed on weekends it wasn't that hard to get a table
google avatar

Madeline P.

Yelp
A beautiful spot for a quick breakfast or brunch date. You order at the counter and seat yourself. I ordered the Bacon Croissant Toast and a pain au chocolat - both were delicious! The staff takes their close time very seriously and will kick you out!
google avatar

Sarah L.

Yelp
10/10 get the French onion soup! I just came back from Paris and I love onion soup. This place has a very unique onion soup with herbs. I also tried their galette sarrasin and benedict and they were both really good. The wait was a bit long and it was understaffed when I went.
google avatar

Dakota T.

Yelp
Visited Le Marais for the first and LAST time this past weekend. I read the reviews and still decided to give this place a shot. It's no surprise that the staff was extremely rude and slow. In the 15 minutes I waited in line I saw multiple customers go up to the register and ask for a refund because of how long the service was taking. When I finally got to the front of the line, the cashier told me my purchase hadn't gone through the first time so he had me do it again. I then looked and saw that I got billed twice, when I asked the cashier about it he said he was unable to refund on their register so he just gave me more pastries... never coming back. Don't waste your time here folks!
google avatar

Camilla M.

Yelp
Last Sunday my husband and I came here for brunch! We seated outside in the only table on Sanchez street but it was ok for us because we didn't want to stay in the sun! We ordered the avocado croissant toast and the florentine omelette! The first dish was good, but nothing amazing; the second one was just ok! The portion are also small for what you pay and the service was very slow! They also forgot to bring us the Nutella crepes because my husband asked for it after a while. At least the crepes was very good. It would nice if they stay open later in the day to eat again the crepes as a snack in the afternoon.

Yelp
UPDATED REVIEW THE CROISSANT IS DEF 5 STARS!! chocolate frangipane croissant beats arsicault. big statement, i know, but i feel like it's less buttery/oily and the chocolate to dough ratio is better (TOO chocolately at arsicault, which I feel drowns the croissant. this is coming from a hardcore chocolate lover!)
google avatar

Griffin C.

Yelp
Im liking it. The windows are big and wonderful and aside from the cashier going on her phone for 20 seconds before looking up to tend to me it was good. Im sure it was important. Raspberry tart and kouign amann baton were good sweets to start the day. Wish reviews werent only in whole stars
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
The interior is well done that reminds me of restaurants in Paris. The service is friendly but very slow. It took us 45 min to get the brunch combo. Also the lettuce that came with our combo was rotten and not edible. The pastries were delicious though.
google avatar

Kitty M.

Yelp
As a person who is obsessed with Almond Croissants and authentic French food, I give Le Marais an A+. I was visiting SF from LA hoping to find someplace with real French people serving real French pastries. They present their food with quality and care ... no cheap ingredients and super buttery taste . I ordered the avocado toast on a croissant that came with perfectly cooked eggs and a salad with a super light and flavorful dressing . I seriously doubt that this experience could be replaced with AI. Lol.
google avatar

Pam Z.

Yelp
Disappointing decline in service. I used to enjoy Le Marais Bakery pre-pandemic, but my recent experience was a big let-down. Service was incredibly slow, with my avocado toast arriving cold and my partner's salad coming so late I was nearly finished eating. When we enquired, the waiter explained there was a 30-minute wait for food - something he failed to mention when we ordered. Ideally, dishes for a table should be brought out together. While we appreciated the refund for the salad, this experience fell far short of expectations. I hope this feedback helps Le Marais improve their service in the future.
google avatar

Catherine L.

Yelp
I'm so sad that the Marina location closed as it was my favorite go to working coffee/cafe. You must get their almond croissants that are baked fresh each day. It has the perfect combo of buttery-flakiness and chewy goodness from the almond roux. If you're coming for breakfast I would also recommend the set platters which come with a choice of pastry, granola, fruits/veggies and is just the perfect breakfast. The staff was also so generous and kind. I got an apricot scone which fell apart when the staff member picked it up so she offered another one on the house. Price: $ Overall: 9.7/10 Must Get: croissants, cappuccino,

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick slice of French love on our way to the airport. Love the freshness and options at Le Marais Bakery. I only wish I could have tried more! We ordered the chai tea, which was so yummy. A few ham & cheese croissants which next time I will order 10!! A couple Pain Suisse for our chocolate cravings and a chocolate bouchon. Each pastry is $6.50 or less. They were the best pastries I've had in a very long time, arguably since my last visit to Paris.

Yelp
Love that this place is close to our condo! These pastries are so good! I love the almond, plain croissant and the chocolate chip cookies. The croissants tastes exactly like the ones Ive had every time I've gone to Paris. My favorite items on the list are the French onion soups and brunch board. The brunch board is a good deal. I think you pick 5-8 items off a sheet and there are plenty of choices and good for anyone whether you are vegetarian or not.
google avatar

Yelp
Good food and baked goods with fun vibe. Brunch for two pictured. I just wish they wouldn't play Mexican music in a French themed cafe.
google avatar

Yelp
First time dining at the castro location, great atmosphere for working remotely! although the wifi is very spotty so either use your hotspot or go when you have no meetings. Random but the water tasted immaculate?? Lady at the counter was sweet and explained some of the pastries to me, felt validated when she said my picks were good ;) coffee is also delicious, although make sure to stir the mocha since the chocolate gets stuck to the bottom once it is cold.

Yelp
I am a huge fan of brunch boards as it gives you a chance to have a bite sized assortment of their offerings. I absolutely love the one at Kantine so when I saw someone's board from Le Marais, I knew I wanted to try theirs too. Choosing 5 or 7 items from their list of offerings is like a customized brunch and even the Croque Monsieur and Croque Madames offers a choice of meats or no meat. Wanting to try both, we decided on a 7-item board and a Croque Madame. Unfortunately, the Croque Madame was way too salty that I finished the salad to offset it way before I can even finish the Madame. Ultimately, we really couldn't finish it and should've taken how much was leftover from the previous occupants of our table as a sign, since we were sitting with it the entire time until our food came out. The croissant was good but nothing really wow'd me from the other items on my brunch board. The building, vibes, and proximity to stroll through Castro with its Victorian homes and ending at Mission Dolores Park on a clear day is a treat indeed but the croissant would be the only reason I would stop by again.

Yelp
Got the bistro board and a steak croissant forgot the name but it was pretty good. There was wasabi in the steak croissant which was odd though but overall filled stomachs. Also a matcha iced latte that was very runned down with water and I've tried much better matchas before I think this place is good for the aesthetic, silverware was dirty and my bistro board food quality didnt look good like it was very simple. Nonetheless okay restaurant.

Yelp
Love the French ambiance! Super authentic and had a great selection of pastries and brunch food. Very authentic breakfast options and has my favorite Swiss chocolate croissant in sf.

Yelp
This place has great pastries! Sucks that they are a couple blocks away from Tartine, but they have amazing stuff also. Try anything with chocolate!

Yelp
Cute lil place near Dolores park! Being that this is in the corner, it was a little confusing trying to navigate where to enter. The side I was coming from had a mini welcome table for a waitlist, menus, and some postcards. After signing my name for a party of 1, I saw some people lining up on the other side. Turns out there's no need to sign up after all. I simply waited in line, ordered, took my number, and sat my happy booty down. I may have sat too soon since the only free table I saw at the time hasn't been serviced yet. There were no dirty dishes there, but the water pitcher needed to be filled and I didn't know where to retrieve utensils, napkins, or a water cup. I didn't really mind though because I didn't need those things for my order. However, I must say that the staff wasn't as attentive to me. They would check on my neighboring tables often, but only interacted with me to give my order. Moving on to food & beverage, I kept things pretty simple with a dirty chai latte and a chocolate croissant. Can't exactly go wrong with a chocolate croissant - this one was pretty flaky but kinda hoped there was more chocolate inside for its size. I love chai lattes but this was my first time trying it with espresso, and can't say I'd do it again any time soon. I felt it was slightly strong for my taste. Overall, I'd give this another shot -- my former professor recommended this place to me, plus there are so many other pastries and crêpes to try! Process: 4/5 Service: 3/5 Food: 3.5/5

Yelp
Understaffed and unable to communicate. Too many other cafes in the area and city to waste my time here.

Yelp
This place is amazing. If I lived here I'd live here. Amazing croissant. Amazing sandwich. I hadn't grabbed a menu cause I'd only intended to come here for a croissant and latte. But had enough time to peruse the items in the glass case before I got up to the register. But there seems to be tons of other stuff on the menu. I'm going to have to try. The sandwich was focaccia with prosciutto, arugula, mozzarella, tomato, etc. Was amazing. Will definitely be back. Probably tomorrow, Sunday. And maybe every day this week if I can walk here quickly from the job site at the Castro

Yelp
This is a nice place to come by for a sit with a book and a cappuccino. I enjoy the French style design, it's very clean, bright, and cheery. I used to go to the one in the Marina often but it closed so now I'll drive to the Castro specifically for their strawberry scone which is fresh and flavorful, I'd highly recommend but sometimes they run out so come early. There is ample seating but the weekends can get super busy with nowhere to sit so I stick to the weekdays. I like coming here before going on a hike up to Twin Peaks.
