a perfect evening in this restaurant. The food is aesthetically beautiful and very tasty. The selection of wine for each dish is ideal. the interior is not very modern.

Although we came expecting a nice dinner, our expectations were surpassed by far. This not a bistro but a culinary restaurant. Everything we tasted were well conceived, technically perfect and yummy. The wine tasting menu, was really excellent. The ambiance is modern with Hopperish touch. Value for money restaurant, that you surely have to try when you are in the city.

What a friendly place. Whithout reservations we were treated with three courses, of which we had no complaints whatsoever. On the contrary: they were delicious. Wines perfect. Like a wish that became true. Thank you Matelot!

After reading most reviews, I have high expectation. The service and wine are fine. However, the langostine entree was off-putting. The langostine texture was soggy and the body meat was broken into pieces, couldn't be even in the shape of one langostine. It was with a supplement cost of $8. Far from freshness, they were actually off with a weird taste. I should have talked to the chef but the wait staff seemed have difficulty in communicating in English and of course I'm no good in speaking French too. So far we didn't have much success in beef in southern France and Normandy area, so we decided to give one more try before we stopped ordering beef inn France. The beef was amazingly prepared! Well done!

The ambience, hospitality, and food are all tremendous. Each dish was so thoughtful; an ideal balance of classic French technique, comforting flavors, and innovative ideas, all put together using fantastic, fresh ingredients. Book ahead, Le Margote is small and busy (as it should be). And for the price, it is an absolutely outrageous steal, we gladly would have paid twice as much for this meal and still left very, very happy. Cheers to the Le Margote team!
