The pastries are all freshly backed and delicious. Also tried breakfast croissant with smoked salmon, very good! The interior is a bit outdated, but it is right in front of Bryant Park, you can get a take out and enjoy it outside. They also offer table service inside and high top tables for self-service inside and a few seats outside.

Google
Across from Bryant Park, Le Pain served a smooth Iced Vanilla Latte! I had a DELICIOUS Banana chip & Chocolate croissant like creation.. YUMMY!! Also the Cheese Danish was a sweet pastry made from a rich, flaky, buttery dough layered with a sweet, tangy, and creamy cream cheese filling. 🥰😋 Would like to try breakfast next time!

Google
It is definitely a hip and overpriced place, but nevertheless they serve really good chocolate mousse, and absolutely great lemonade - neither is too sweet, which is very unusual for the US, as most Americans routinely oversweeten everything.

Good place to enjoy your meal. Delicious sandwich. I got smoked salmon croissant with boiled egg and greens. For dessert, I got a cup of coffee, apricot tarte and canel. So tasty! Good service and nice place to enjoy your food. Seating outdoor or inside. Near Bryant Park.

Le Pain Quotidien has always been my little love in New York — the kind of place you return to again and again, no matter how many years go by. Maybe it’s nostalgia, maybe it’s the French charm, but every time I walk in, I instantly feel at ease. It’s not trying to be overly fancy — and that’s exactly why it’s perfect. Rustic wooden tables, the scent of fresh bread, sunlight spilling in through the windows… everything feels warm and inviting, like a café tucked away on a quiet Paris street. The food is simple but beautifully done, with that effortless elegance the French do so well. Every visit reminds me why I keep coming back: cozy atmosphere, delicious food, and that intangible feeling that you’ve stepped out of New York and into a slower, gentler world. If they all started speaking French here, I might never leave. And even the fact that the cashier lady could barely speak English and completely mixed up my salad order didn’t — and will never — spoil my feelings about this place. That’s how much I love it❤️

Google
We went here for lunch on a day trip to NY. Our server Jeff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions for food and helped us plan our trip by telling us what bus to catch. The customer service was what really made our visit perfect. The food was delicious and very fresh. The salad had their homemade dressing. It was one of the best salads we had. The sandwich we had was sharable and the cheese was so good on it. We had coffee which also was delicious and strong. The desserts were cute and very flavourful. Everything was priced well and the restaurant had a comfy vibe to it. Loved the wood and tea light aesthetic. They made you feel welcome. Well definitely be back when we're in the area.

Google
A great place for breakfast or lunch. Delicious breads . Friendly service . Reasonable prices. We stayed 1 week in NYC and had breakfast/ lunch every day. We were never disappointed.

Google
Tried my first ever crookie (croissant with cookie) there! It was super delicious. My brother had a sandwich that was also very nice and the tea was ok. I think it's nice for a snack or a coffee with a pastry while you read or something, because the place is not super comfortable for conversation with a friend. Service was alright. Bathroom was clean.

Yelp
This is an excellent high-quality ingredient eatery. I've never had a bad meal there. Everything is fresh, healthy and reasonably priced, especially considering the high quality of the food and the convenient location to mass transportation and iconic tourist destinations.

Yelp
The French cream donut was okay, nothing special. It didn't have a lot of flavor, especially the cake. The espresso was good.

Yelp
This is a place I have overlooked for such a long time. I'm glad I finally gave them a chance. It's a clean nice little place to have lunch or coffee and a snack. It's not loud so you can hear those you're with. I had the Black Lentil bowl and my friend had the Mediterranean Caesar with chicken. It comes with bread although neither one of us ate that we both ate our entire meal which was fresh and very tasty. I'll definitely go there again.

Yelp
Wow! What a bad service, I prefer some eggs, got there super cold, the bread was as hard as it could be! The chocolate croissant was ok. The photo looks so good the taste so poor! Place is beautiful, that is the only plus
google avatar

Yelp
We were drawn in by the sign of the "crookie" as we passed. We walked in to check it out. It was a huge disappointment. Not enticing like the photo ( see actual photo -presentation not appealing either )lol Still bought it to try it out. Nah. Not appealing and even the cookie wasn't as good. There's so much competition out there.. like Magnolia Bakery or Levain Cookies. Sorry but save your $$ for a nice treat.

Yelp
Beautiful place but mediocre to-go chai latte. We visited this spot on a cold Saturday evening, looking for warm drinks to help us continue our chilly journey in the city. This place was warm, bright, and cozy, which raised my expectations for a comforting chai latte. Unfortunately, the chai latte was giving more milk than chai, and my high hopes weren't quite met. Also, our interaction felt a bit awkward, which added to the mixed experience. Perhaps it was just an off day or maybe I should've ordered something other than a chai latte. Either way, it's a pretty place if you value the warm bakery aesthetics.

Yelp
Solid option close to Bryant Park! The breads are out of this world -- highly recommend the croissants and baguettes! The salad that came with my sandwich was also delicious, with a great dressing. It is a little crowded inside, I ended up taking my food to go and eating in the park. It can also be a little crammed, most of the restaurant is primarily counter space for the baristas to craft their drinks and for to-go orders to be taken, but it seems nice to sit down at too!

Yelp
I got a French cream donut here, it was reasonably priced for NYC. When I saw the pic online I knew I had to try this donut, it looks gorgeous. I thought at worst the cream could be too sweet or custardy. However it wasn't crazy sweet or liquidy (worst case scenario). The cream was fluffy enough. However, still very very sweet and definitely could be fluffier and more whipped. I prefer not too sweet though. I chose this cream donut over Bear Donut (Bear Donut has a milk tea flavor! I didn't try it though, shop didn't smell appetizing). Am pleased with my choice to get the donut here. I'd come here again.

Yelp
A little quiet gem across the street from Bryant Park. Area is full of high end pastry shops and yet this is my fave. Full table service in the back and our server was friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Came here for dinner the other night. Pros: + Fast service + Vegetarian friendly + Great location + Large assortment of pastries + Delicious pastries Cons: - Pricey IG: QueenOfAdventureNYC

Yelp
I ordered the Prosciutto Manchego sandwich to go, and was so disappointed by the portion size. This $10 sandwich was maximum 5 bites, and tasted like a premade grocery store meal. This location is spacious though, conveniently located across Bryant Park with ample seating and WiFi. Staff was also friendly.

Yelp
VEGAN REVIEW Came here for breakfast. Le Pain used the have a ton more vegan choices, but they are still a solid option, especially for a filling morning meal. Had the breakfast grain bowl (no egg, sub hummus), a side of fruit & an oat milk latte. The bowl was SO TASTY! The side of fruit was NOT good- mostly hard cantaloupe, the strawberries were tasteless. There was a few other pieces of random fruit like blueberries & pineapple, but not much. Latte was good, though not very hot. Gracious service. Love the space, as I imagine a cafe in Paris tho I have never been

Yelp
The service was amazing! Our barista Gabriel was so kind and helpful and truly went the actual mile to make our visit enjoyable!! Definitely would recommend if you are looking for a cute place with yummy pastries and good service. Food was very fresh!

Yelp
After walking by Le Pain Quotidien multiple times and see the French Creme donut I finally pulled the trigger and went in to buy one. My expectations were high just from the appearance of it. The donut looks so fluffy and creamy and delicious. So I went in to purchase one along with a cup of coffee. Total came out to around $11-$12 which is expected for a NY coffee shop and especially a French coffee shop. However, the only thing enjoyable that day was the cup of coffee and the friendly customer service. For a $6 donut it was disappointing. The donut tasted a bit stale and the cream ratio was a bit excessive. The donut tasted like a stale brioche bun. The cream was actually not bad. It was a bit on the lighter side and wasn't too sweet but there was just too much of it. Perhaps I got a bad batch. I might have to skip the French donut next time I try out Le Pain. Coffee was good though. It tasted fresh and bold. Get the coffee here. The pastries might a gamble though.

Yelp
Given the mediocre reviews I didn't have very high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised with my brunch here. Our server was quite friendly and the ambiance was nice and comfortable for a sit-down meal, which I'm weighing pretty heavily here. I only ordered a yogurt parfait and coffee, which was all good but I feel I can't comment too much on the food. However, others in my group ordered entrees that seemed pretty small, especially considering the price. Generally would recommend this LPQ for a coffee date or sitting to read and enjoy a pastry, but for a full meal better value can probably be found elsewhere.

Yelp
Very friendly servers and great service! Food was delicious and big portions so we shared with my sister. My son loved the powdered mini pancakes. Everybody is happy. Ambiance is cute and clean

Yelp
The positive- it's located across from Bryant Park. It's great to work from and have a hot chocolate. Staff is always friendly. I usually order the tartines baked goods or soft boiled eggs. This time I decided to go with the egg skillet with bacon and sourdough bread. I didn't love it I feel like they are made by the batch and then heated as ordered. My yolk was very firm. If you like firm yolks in your baked eggs then this is for you. I prefer/expect my yolks to be runny when baked.

Yelp
I've been here many many times- it catches a mix of tourists, midtown work people, other locals etc.. but I spent a solo lunch here on a spring day and I feel I didnt have the best experience. First off, just an FYI, they do have a wide selection on their menu but all of it is very "light" (lots of salad things- which is great if you're looking to have grass and cheese for $20) but if you look at the calorie count it's not really all that lean. Anyway, I digress. I like their to-go pastries- the hazelnut flute- if you're never had it, it's not something you'd find at other bakeries, so I highly recommend it. It's kind of like a half dried up bagel in the shape of a flute with hazelnut in it. it tastes better than it sounds, I promise! Okay, so, if you dine here alone, even though there are lots of tables and even if there are lots of EMPTY 2-seat tables, they will put you in the center communal table even if you request to be seated at one of their many empty tables. There was a lady who did just seat herself at a solo table for herself and maybe I should have been bold enough to do the same. I just felt like that soured my whole experience. I get that it's a high traffic zone but its not like I was planning on sitting there for hours and hours nor was the place packed. So there you go. If you go alone, they are putting you in the middle table- end of story. End of review An avocado tart one and a coffee will be $20. Not going back.

Yelp
The soup was served cold, I ordered chicken as a protein in the salad but it had an artificial taste.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in here after staying overnight in Manhattan. We were greeted and seated very quickly. The seating area was very clean and neat. Service was quick and attentive. We both ordered coffee, which was good. You received your own little pot so it contained a few 'bowlfuls'. (See photo). I ordered the ham and cheese omelette which was really tasty. Cooked just as ordered. My wife ordered oatmeal with honey walnuts. Delicious. All in all we were glad we stopped in here. We recommend it also because it was reasonably priced.

Yelp
Im going to ecrivez this in the best Francais je connais. Mon ami et moi visitez le restaurant pour la petit dejeuner avant le journee out into NYC. There were a lot of French people there for breakfast as well and by the looks of the menu, it served them well. Pour la petit dejeuner I had the egg, cheddar et avocado breakfast sandwich avec la tomate confiture. It came with a salad, which I had never had for breakfast before. I enjoyed the dish very much and also the french discussions all around.

Yelp
Convenient location for grabbing a quick bite, coffee, or chat with friends. Pretty spacious inside with a lot of tables. Food was decent. The tea was OK. Got the chia seed pudding with berries and oatmeal(?) added. Very coconuty

Joel L.

Yelp
Very small bland ham and Gruyère sandwich. Tiny salad. Seated at sticky table that had not been cleaned.

Naomi B.

Yelp
I would have given 5 stars but the hostess did something weird. There was no one in the back service area except us. When someone requested a table they were seated next to us as opposed to the 20 other tables. Across the room. There was no real space between the tables. Everyone seated next to us changed tables because of the close proximity. The flies didn't help. The passion fruit tart was awesome but my companions oatmeal was cold.

Yelp
We ate at Le Pain Quotidien last night, and have eaten there at least two other times. It's a great place to get in as they almost always have room for you. Tonight I ordered the chicken soup and the chicken Cobb salad. The soup was pretty flavorless, but the salad was very good and had a number of tasty toppings. My wife got the chicken and mozzarella sandwich on the gluten free nut bread. She really enjoyed it, and I ate what she couldn't. You would never know this bread is gluten free. It was delicious.

Yelp
This place needs help , hire some more people , our waitress was super kind but she was overwhelmed , we had to wait 12 minutes before we got seated ( they asked us to seat ourselves after we stood in front) and after we got our table we ordered water 3 times , never got it food and drink got there but never our water! Food is less than average, bread wasn't fresh as they described it ambiance not that great also, never going back there again .

Yelp
Lovely New York experience. A delicious, healthy bowl of filling grains and protein. Artisan bread and butter on the side. Coffee in a ceramic pitcher pours into a delicate bowl. And a delicious tart to top it off. Quiet but well lit, spacious yet cozy with one verry long table right in the middle of the dining area. You can grab something at the counter or sit and have a leisurely meal with friendly and attentive table service. And if you need a re-charge on your cell phone, there are outlets at select tables--ask a waiter like I did. A surefire bet for a reasonably priced, delicious bite here in the Big Apple.
google avatar

Olivia G.

Yelp
The service was really great! Fast and easy. The food was pretty good. The little pancakes were my favorite, and the mozz chicken sandwich was very good too. The egg skillet would have been much better if the yolk wasn't cooked all the way through, but it was still good. Cute spot.
google avatar

Kathryn C.

Yelp
I loved the inside atmosphere! I had a great time enjoying my drink and dessert, warm inside after a cold day. Both drinks were not too sweet and had a rich aftertaste. I expected the brownie to be super sweet, but to my surprise, it was rich and slightly bitter. I especially liked how chewy and smooth the inside was.

Yelp
Le Pain Quotidien is a wonderful spot in Manhattan that serves breakfast, pastries and sandwiches for on the go on sit down. The restaurant is very well spaced with lots of room for relaxing, dining in or just taking in the sights right outside of the storefront window. The restaurant is clean, well lit and so relaxing that you forget that you're in one of the biggest cities in the world. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with coffee and it was met my expectations and then some. The sandwich was light but filling and the coffee was perfect. The staff here is wonderful and customer service oriented. When I was ready to leave, I took a look at the pasties case and ordered the chocolate croissant which they warmed up for me and it was on par with other french pastries shops that I've been to. I would definitely recommend Le Pain Quotidien for breakfast, lunch or just to sit down and relax. When I go back to NYC, I will be sure to visit again!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here with my sisters for brunch. The food was amazing. Everything we ordered was a 10/10. The place is nice and clean and there was no wait to be seated. Our waiter was very polite and helpful the whole time and made our experience even better. I did notice a little bickering and arguing amongst the employees there which is non of my business but just makes things awkward for the people eating there lol.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Decent coffee shop. Cappuccino small and was not hot. Regular coffee was $3.50 for average deli coffee. Better options in city .

Yelp
Met here with a group of local friends! Atmosphere and ambiance was pretty busy, but it was ok! I had the Quiche Lorraine with a small salad and that was not bad! Only thing I didn't like was the restrooms! With how busy this place is(it was pretty packed), they only had TWO restroom stalls and ONE sink, therefor there was a line for the restroom and had to wait for someone else to finish washing their hands so I could wash mine, meanwhile having another impatient New Yorker man waiting behind me! I realize while searching this to review, this is a local chain of restaurants, so I don't know if it's also like that at their other locations, but this one, across from Bryant Park was the one we were at and I totally think they need to expand their restrooms.

Yelp
I've dined-in at this particular LPQ location, a number of times, over the years. More recently, what has struck me is how well-managed this location is, and how terrific ALL of the staff here, are. I usually dine here alone, and so it gives me the chance to just sit back and 'observe'. I watch the various wait staff...the people who work the counter... people who seem to be 'managers' of a sort, of the cafe...the workers who keep the place clean, etc. I also observe the various staff as they interact with each other. And the overall sense I get is that... everyone here seems to really enjoy working here...there's a really nice, general vibe, among the staff, and I suspect that it may be due to the person who actually runs this particular location. They are clearly doing something right...hiring the right individuals...training them well...and most importantly, treating them well. At least...that's the sense I get, from observing the staff here. On my most recent visit, my waitperson was named 'Camila R'. She was phenomenal! I watched her over the hour or so that I was there, and like a true pro, she was keeping an eye over new customers who were waiting to be seated (and she'd then seat them...).... she was taking orders...delivering orders...and periodically checking in on all her customers. She was managing many things at once, and all with an air of calm, friendliness and a take-charge attitude. Because I was seated near the entrance to the kitchen, I got to overhear the various staff engaging with each other...having collegial conversation...it just seems like a really great, nice bunch of people who work there! As for the food itself, it's always been great, whenever I've eaten here. I happen to love their cauliflower and cheese frittata, in particular.

Yelp
Great spot for a mid day treat- fresh baked pastries and sandwiches available. Great selection of sweet desserts as well as hot and cold coffees, and homemade lemonades Delightful AC , classical music and clean bathrooms make this a perfect pit stop

Yelp
Le Pain is always spacious and is a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of NYC. Bryant park is across the street so take your food to go and eat it in the park. The lentil soup was nicely done with good flavor. The croque madam (croque monsieur with egg) was a good lunch item that is served open faced. I tried the cauliflower frittata and it was good but not memorable. Le Pain has a nice dining room too where you can enjoy your meal. The pastries are usually my go to but I skipped them this time. Busy place!
google avatar

Grant L.

Yelp
Atmosphere is very nice. Lots of good things on their menu. Portions are generous. Have traveled to NYC several times and eaten at this place each time. Definitely recommended for breakfast
google avatar

Heather D.

Yelp
We chose to come to LPQ because I'm familiar with it and wanted a place to sit down near Bryant Park. The service was very slow and it seemed like our server had way too many tables on her plate. The food was mid. Prices have gone up a ton since I've been there (about 4 years), though we know everything's gone up in price lately. The bathroom area was also very overlooked and gross. After eating, I thought to order a chai latte to go. It took about 20 mins to get the drink and it was not made correctly as I ordered it. Overall, I think LPQ is great at certain slower-paced locations. I love that they have the communal tables and serve the drinks in big bowl mugs. They also used to have a tuna tartine if I remember correctly that was top. It seems like things have just changed with the times and it is what it is.

Kapow K.

Yelp
Phenomenal. I've been coming here for years whenever I'm in Midtown. The atmosphere is super quaint and very French. The pastries (especially the French Cream Doughnut) are devine. And I've never had a less than outstanding meal from the menu. The experience is always deliberate, slow and refined. Do not be in a hurry and think you're here for a quick in and out. I give it my highest recommendation.
google avatar

Traci H.

Yelp
LPQ is always reliable, but we were there on a parade day and it was packed. Despite this fact we got excellent service and food. I wish I knew the waiters name, he was hustling. My ham/egg/gruyere croissant was medicinal (after a very late night) and my husband's skillet was delicious. Neither one of us could finish our meals, portions were adequate. Hot coffee and a lively atmosphere made for a nice start to the day. We will return and recommend.
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
Wow! I came here for the first time last Thursday at around 10am, my partner and I walked right in from Bryant park and were able to get a table right away with no reservation. The restaurant has a counter for quick take away orders and a host stand for sit down diners. I ordered the smoked salmon Tartine and an iced latte! The latte was great and the Tartine was amazing! The salmon was definitely fresh and omg the dipping sauce it came was was absolutely delicious, and really made the dish stand out! The only small thing is that the bread did not seem to be toasted and I think it was supposed to be? My partner got the Belgian hot chocolate and it was so cute and so tasty!! It came in a cute little pour spout, that we could pour into the steamed milk and it was delicious!! Her croque monsieur Tartine was perfect! It came with an amazing three mustard combination! The ambiance is the restaurant is stunning! There is plenty of open space and the dining area is very large! I would definitely come again if back in the area!

Yelp
Excellent bakery and breakfast. Wish we had found it days earlier. Recommend it for quick takeout or sit down breakfast.
google avatar

Abram R.

Yelp
The place doesn't meet health codes. Staff don't use gloves, hair caps, and nails on the individual are dirty. Flies in areas and pastries are not covered and are open for contamination. Garbage container inside overflow. No Grade posting. The health department inspector went there and their findings also showed what I saw as well and still, it continues. If I can give a zero I would. Some of my friends have even been food poisoned. Stay away!
google avatar

Joshua R.

Yelp
While the location cannot be beat as it is right across the street from Bryant Park the food breakfast is a bit lackluster. I chose to eat indoors and was hoping for a great breakfast. The coffee was very good and was an interesting cup to drink out of. I ordered the breakfast bowl and when I tried to order without sweet potatoes I was told the it was pre made, so it couldn't be customized. It was supposed to come with a sunny side up egg and what came out was a completely cooked egg with hard yoke which made the bowl a bit less appetizing because of the missing yoke. The one saving grace is the bread and danishes which look amazing. I purchased a cheese danish for my partner and she said the lamination was very good. Not bad for a quick bit but expect premade and not made to order food.

Stonya B.

Yelp
Horrible experience. I bought a 9 dollar mediocre coffee here and my friend purchased a 9 dollar yogurt. We went to sit down after picking up our food. Shortly after we started eating, they kicked us out because we did not request dining service. We politely asked where we could sit and they guided us inside the restaurant. When we sat down inside, they kicked us out again. There was PLENTY of open seating. We were told that we could not sit anywhere because "this was a restaurant." We are paying customers and should not be denied seating. Horrendous customer service.

Stella F.

Yelp
Purchased expensive yogurt at the counter. Despite there being LOTS of open seating we were denied access to said seating due to the fact that we were not getting table service. I politely asked if there was anywhere I could sit and was told, "This is a restaurant." It was under my impression that le pain is a cafe-restaurant meaning that seats would be available for any paying customer, as this has always been my experience at their other locations.
google avatar

Sitara S.

Yelp
When I first walked past this location I thought it was going to a small cafe front, but when you walk in there's a large seating area in the back. Much bigger than previous locations I've been to. I ordered a cappuccino which came in a huge bowl rather than the typical mug so I had to drink it soup style. I also ordered the ham with guyere cheese. It was a quite filling size and also came with a side salad. There were also a good variety of pastries if you prefer a more sweeter breakfast. If you're near Bryant park, I would definitely recommend here as a more affordable and enjoyable breakfast spot to start your day.
google avatar

Anisha P.

Yelp
I just visted le Pain with my family yesterday. We sat down for coffee and some pastries. The coffees took about 20min to get (it was 2 black coffees and 1 chai latte) it shouldn't take that long! And then we ordered 2 pastries ( a blueberry muffin and a croissant). After waiting 20 min for our coffees we remembered the pastries and the people up front looked just as confused and we didn't get that for another 10 minutes. It was chaotic to say the least. Would I come back here? Probably not unless the service becomes better.

Eugene N.

Yelp
I was at the Le Pain Quotidien on 76th st & Broadway. The person I was with had the avocado toast, which was very good. I had the quiche Lorraine. It was really bad. The top of it was burnt and it tasted almost liquidy inside. As if it had been defrosted. It's unfortunate because the staff here is wonderful and I hope they can improve some of these items or less than great.
