"Cases of flaky croissants, pain au chocolat, and fruit tarts are an ode to French patisserie in this intimate nook tucked into the corner of a strip mall. Hailing from Lyon, France, chef Didier Tholognat makes all the viennoiseries and pastries in-house with a skill that can only come from decades of practice. The cafe sources its coffee from Oregon Coffee and Tea, a local roaster in downtown Corvallis, to offer a straightforward menu of smooth espresso and coffee beverages. Le Patissiér is currently open for to-go orders only." - Mariah Botkin, Sukhjot Sal

The pastries are, of course, superb. But although this wonderful bakery has great reviews on atmosphere from years ago, it unfortunately suffers in this area today. Last time I was here was a year or so ago, and you couldn’t sit anywhere as all the tables and chairs were stacked up. Currently, there are tables for two’s around the perimeter of the room and the rest of the tables and chairs are stacked up in the middle. You would think they could find a better place for storage as it detracts from the atmosphere, and there is no accommodation for a party of four.

Google
A must stop for quenching your sweet tooth! Cannot recommend this small shop enough. So unbelievably tasty and such a variety to choose from! Some things do sell out quickly and there can be a line but it is absolutely worth the wait! The owners are the kindest people! They have sweet and savory items along with various coffees and drinks as well. Have not had a single bad thing here so be sure to splurge and try a variety of items!

Google
One of the best ham and cheese croissants I’ve ever had. Sadly couldn’t warm it there but we march on.

Google
LOOK. 5 stars all around. great employees and cute interior (very french). delicious pastries

Google
Caoes and coffee are tasty, but packing for take away is horroble!

Google
This is the best French bakery I have been to in a while. It’s legit! The fruit tarts are incredible and I don’t know how they do it but you don’t loose a single crumb. It all stays together to the last bite. The croissants are amazing. Everything is delicious!!!!

Google
Great place to eat some deliciousness!! Amazing stuff you have to go there and experience the smells and food. FYI. For you: Le Patissier: Your website says is not secure. Talk to your IT folks.

Google
The best bakery in Corvallis! The bad thing about it is they only work 15 hrs a week:( other than that everything is great, their fruit tart is really good, puff and other bread too! They could be really filling so don’t order too much!

Yelp
This Bakery has the freshest Croissants I've ever eaten. I'm hooked on the Almond ones. They are occasionally sold out, so others love their Pastries as much as me. Lots of delicious options, all freshly made. I wish they were open more days, but then I'd be eating too often.

Yelp
I moved to Corvallis in January and this is my go-to pastry bakery. I'm here about once-twice a month, and an excellent place to impress your out-of-town visitors or to bring an assortment of desserts to a dinner party (yes, I did that, and yes, the 10yr old children appreciated it with wide eyes and glory). You can get the easy classics like apricot danishes and croissants (ham and cheese is my go-to, and they even do a ham cheese and jalapeño!), eclairs, quiche of the day, or go real fancy for their crepes, fruit tarts, and swan crème puffs. The only thing that's 2 stars in my book is the coffee. It just doesn't taste great. 5 stars for how much they care bc they put iced coffee CUBES but sadly, the taste is just ... not there. The loose leaf tea though is excellent!

Dylan V.

Yelp
Grabbed breakfast here. Was surprised to see indoor dining was still Covid-ed out but it was what it was. Service was super friendly and quick, owner(?) incredibly kind. The place was pretty packed too, surprising given how out-of-place it seemed in the middle of a retail park. Food was solid, unfortunately didn't blow me out of the park but hard to go wrong with quiches, croissants and the like.

Beth S.

Yelp
Wonderful pastries, sandwiches, quiches, cakes, and croissants. Call ahead one day to order lunch to go.

Zack F.

Yelp
Even when they are not open, the smell outside the shop is lovely! This is an update... they appear not to be open on Sundays, and no seating at this time (04/10/22)... I am envious if you live near here!

Wes W.

Yelp
Amazing pastries, excellent coffee, superb service, and a pleasant atmosphere. Definitely worth the visit whether you're a local or passing through.

Charles G.

Yelp
Everything authentic as I recall in France...delicious pastry and horribly rude service.

Steven O.

Yelp
This establishment is only open 3 days a week and they struggle to be open even then. Another huge issue is they open at 8AM and can be out of most items within an hour.

Tara H.

Yelp
The best croissants in America! Apparently I have to say more about them. Light and fluffy and buttery. Like no other !

Mel J.

Yelp
I love this place. The quiches are amazing, the pastries delicious. Fruit danish-style pastries change with the season and are all great. The fruit tarts are my favorite thing - I always get one. Eclairs and bread are so good also! The cheese in the ham and cheese croissants is perfect... I just love it.

Liv K.

Yelp
Tldr; Yum! Not overpriced. Food was good. Pastry cream was rich and creamy. Didn't take long to order items. Didn't take long for hot sandwich to come out. Coffee was fine. Lots of seating, including two tables outside on sidewalk. Plenty of parking. Clean, stocked restroom. Low credit card minimum. Would recommend. Will return. - Came by for breakfast on Saturday morning around 9:30 AM. Steady stream of customers while we were there. There were several employees working the front, so it was not long before you are being helped! Hot sandwich, baguette sandwich, mille feuille, almond croissant and a regular croissant, plus two large coffees. Hot sandwich was delicious. I enjoyed the crunch of the toasted exterior and the chewy interior of the flavorful baguette. The hot sandwich had slices of brie melted on top of roasted slices of bell peppers adorned with a light drizzle of balsamic. Really good. I was thrilled to have this for breakfast. I think my husband enjoyed his baguette sandwich. He finished it pretty quickly. :-) The size and quality of the sandwiches and pastries were appropriate for the price. $5 credit card minimum, clearly posted in front of the cash register / iPad point of sale station. Coffee kiosk features stevia, raw sugar, white sugar, honey, salt, stir sticks, napkins. Clean, single, gender-neutral restroom stocked with fresh rolls of plush TP on the dispensers! Hand soap, hand lotion and paper towels available, as well! Very much appreciated. (We've been traveling, so the number of restrooms I've visited that were out of tp or gross were numerous.) Omelet cannot be ordered as a to go item - too soggy for the compostable paper container, even when lined with foil. They also make crepes!

Yelp
One early Friday morning, I decided to go to this corner bakery and cafe. They open at 6:30a which made it convenient for my working schedule. The counter displayed a beautiful arrangement of their pastries and croissants. I opted for something more substantial and enjoyed the buttery crust and the delicate custard of their quiche lorraine, although it was incredibly hot. They serve coffee from Oregon Coffee and Tea and I had it in the 12oz cup. It was a great start of the day to spend the morning in their cute French ambiance and have a wonderful breakfast. Since then, I've enjoyed their rich almond croissant, and their light buttery and flaky croissant. Their tarts are incredibly beautiful and delicious!

Michael W.

Yelp
Delicious food at a slightly higher than average cost, worth it if you manage to make it in the few hours a week they're open!

Corine W.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years! Amazing quality for the price. I highly recommend everything, but the Napoleons are a family favorite. Get there early on Saturdays!

Valerie G.

Yelp
Omg yummm! We had to try multiple things cause it all looked so good! We got the spinach quiche which was delicious fluffy and flaky crust, almond cream croissant, pecan cinnamon roll, berry tart and a Pear tart and the coffee was perfect I ordered a Carmel latte and for me to like something not super sweet the coffee has to be perfectly brewed and it definitely was perfect! Now If only I can order a latte like that anywhere that would be great it would be my favorite drink. Everything had so much flavor and perfectly baked. We are definitely stopping here again before we leave town to get some for our sitter

Ellie L.

Yelp
I love this Bakery. Absolutely phenomenal french food, I love the noisette crepe, the almond creme croissant is to die for! However, the creme sells out quickly, so arrive early if you want one! I chose the almond paste croissant, it tasted lovely, however it much more resembled a plain croissant. The lack of paste was very disappointing. I will always support this business but I hope they either put more paste in the middle, or quality control that they all have the same delicious amount of paste in them.

Jacques T.

Yelp
Good but they aren't open often and run out. Maybe more of a hobby than a business? Either way if you want their food show up early, and on a day when they're open

Chad B.

Yelp
Line out the door is worth it. Never knew it existed til recently and seems like another local gem

Leumas S.

Yelp
the pastries here are perfect. literally no flaws. i got the cream puffs, cream cheese danishes, almond croissants, and chocolate croissants. all were perfect. croissants were flaky, cream cheese danishes tasted incredibly fresh, and almond croissants were very good. everything here is authentic and made fresh daily. i recommend it.

Kim J.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful pastries. So wish we had this in my hometown. We were passing through and look forward to visiting again.

Mandy C.

Yelp
Didn't expect takeout only due to COVID but food did not disappoint. Weekend so they had crepes - the nicosse or something with Nutella was so good!

Todd S.

Yelp
This is my go-to restaurant for breakfast in Corvallis. I make a point of going here every time I'm in town. The quiche and crepes are to die for. And I try to never walk away without an eclair or three!

Jeromy T.

Yelp
We were visiting in Corvallis and was craving some pastries. We found this place and was very impressed. We bought quite a few things; almond croissants, tarts and the quiche (picture). All of it was pretty good but the tarts and croissants were amazing. The quiche isn't burnt that is the way it is suppose be and had a beautiful crust. Definitely worth a try.

Trisha F.

Yelp
Ordered two ham, (unidentified) cheese and jalapeno croissants, a meringue, coffee, kids' vanilla steamer, pear turnover, water. Everything arrived staggered, which didn't seem irregular in this bakery where you order at the counter, receive a numbered playing card, and still go pick up all food at the counter. The meringue was still chewy inside, which I know is a thing that some enjoy, but I won't be ordering another of those from here. The real standout was the pear turnover, which only has a little of the pureed pear inside, but still manages to pack a flavor punch. Every bite was flaky and delicious-- there is no way you can just have one bite! The ham, cheese, and jalapeno was pretty good, too. Not overloaded with cheese, deli ham inside. No worries about heat with this one-- there is just a little of the pepper's taste. We meant to go back for a box of a dozen, but sadly never got around to it. I'll def be back!

Jeff C.

Yelp
Food is ok. Go there if you want good & authentic French pastries. Items are pricey though

Lauren W.

Yelp
This review is for the pear tart...probably the best I've ever had! The crust was buttery and delicious, not dry like most. We went an hour before closing so the case was pretty empty. Wish there would had been more to try!

Unique V.

Yelp
A must when I'm in town visiting. Love they're buttery croissants in every way they make them, plain, chocolate, almond, ham and cheese! Tarts are amazing as well. Try it all! I haven't had anything I didn't love yet

Keith L.

Yelp
Looks promising--as of Feb. 3, 2021, the business hours are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 8 am - 1pm. Hope to enjoy it soon. Lots of parking in the strip mall location, with a couple bike parking pipes here and there.

Edward L.

Yelp
The best place in Corvallis OR for layered pastry, French pastry. Consistent quality.

Kilani G.

Yelp
This place is so cute. I've visited twice for the baked goods. Each time they had a wide variety of pastries, a bit varied each visit. For Valentine's Day, they offered cream puff swans and assorted heart shaped items. It's always such a nice experience, and the staff are very kind. I'd definitely go again. I saw they offered lunch as well, so maybe I'll try it my next visit!

Brian C.

Yelp
The espresso got me pumped enough to really speak highly of myself at a job interview. This is the closest I've come to having the true french experience. This isn't some dive restaurant at all. I suggest it for a date with someone you really want to impress. I had a baguette and am never looking back.

Yelp
I wanted SO badly to like this more than I did. Especially after hearing good things....if I had to rate it on the one cheese Danish I enjoyed it would be a 5 star. But we all know there is much more that goes into it. I arrived at 820am on a Friday and there was a bit of a line. (Suppose to be a good sign right?) there were two counter people assisting and perhaps because nobody knew or could see the options till they were at the counter ... It took quite a while to keep the line moving. No big deal though. The decor is Parisian bistro as expected. Certainly fitting as many tables as possible in tight spaces. Nice music and overall ambiance. When my turn arrived I was surprised to see empty trays and not nearly the variety I was hoping for since I got there pretty early. I could see trays in the bag that hadn't been brought out yet though... Special order? I was limited to croissants or a Danish. I ordered my Danish and others to go and decided to try a chai latte. It took 12 minutes for me to get my chai latte. They had to wait for another lady to make it and when I finally got it.....I kid you not it was only 2/3 full. I ordered the medium option and it was so annoyingly disappointed that it wasn't even served to a full portion. And my final dismay was that it was just bland sweet tasting milk....no chai kick whatsoever.....that's alas is what led to my 2 star review is the overall final experience I will applaud the chef though. The Danish was fresh and tasty. Just not worth the hassle of coming back.

Mark S.

Yelp
So a buddy and I roll up on this place and it looks unassuming at the corner of a stripmall. We walk in to what looks like a bakery/cafe and up to the counter and he proceeds to order. I took his lead and got the croissant with almond paste. Having lived in Germany, I love marzipan so I gave it a whirl. I also ordered a danish that looked like it had fresh blueberries. When I sat down and bit into the croissant, I experienced a flavor explosion. the buttery flaky croissant and the sweet yummy earthy almond paste. When I finished it(3 seconds later) I totally wanted eight more. The blueberry danish was equally delicious. Yummy pastry, sweet cheese filling and fresh blueberries adding sweet and slightly tart. Wow. I am so happy they are a thousand miles away from me or I'd be 600 pounds.

Yelp
Cornered in a not so high-end strip mall, this French Patissier offers outstanding pastries, confection, crepes and coffee concoctions. What a little slice of heaven here on the north end of Corvallis! Super cute decor and refreshingly clean bathroom to boot. Outstanding attention to detail all the way through, nice work Le Patissier!

Marie G.

Yelp
3.5 stars because of lack of variety in the display case and the difficulty I had eating the Napolean... My eating buddy Keiko had told me about this place and after eating lunch at Young's kitchen she wanted to go and I said "oh hell yea, desserts!!" Seriously, who can't pass up dessert? She told me where to go and I was getting excited about the things she was telling me about this place and right when I parked we saw the owner carrying a 4 tier square cake out the back door into a van. That cake looked very elegant and yummmyy! When we got inside I didn't really know what to expect honestly but I was very impressed with the amount of seating they have. It felt cozy, relaxing, and well kept. Thumbs up! The girls that were at the counter were in cute little chef outfits, they were amiable and helpful. However I think we had a little bit of off timing since there weren't a lot of desserts available at that time but the ones that were on display looked sooooooo good!!! We had to wipe off the condensation in order to see what exactly we were looking at. The prices are pretty good. Never have I tried a Napolean so I bought one to bring home to see for myself. (I took the last one so that meant it was a hot seller??) The creme was very sweet, a tad heavy yet light at the same time, and went well with the pastry. The only problem I had was biting into the the very top layer of sugar/frosting? I struggled, period. Usually it's not that hard to eat dessert but I struggled! Argh! The agony! Oh well... lesson learned, don't get the Napolean but get something else. I'm definitely coming back here to check out more desserts and possibly a new meeting place to catch up with friends :)

Bella H.

Yelp
Amazing pastries all around! Classic french pastry meticulously executed. Croissants are delicious and everything is fresh baked. Be sure to come in on the early side so you don't miss out!

Elsa M.

Yelp
A little taste of France in Corvallis! The most amazing croissants made fresh daily. The chef is French and he makes everything from scratch daily. Fluffiest quiche I've ever tasted. The tartlettes are to die for. Great service and cute place. What a gem!

Kristi T.

Yelp
AMAZING pastries! I really love their blueberry danish or ham and cheese croissant. All of their food is high quality and worth the price. They've also worked really hard through this pandemic, continuing to do weekly pickup orders and following safety procedures.

Sarah L.

Yelp
Tres bien. My father is from Paris and always enjoys Le Patissier when visiting. Cute interior, prompt service without annoying phony niceties, and excellent food.

Judith W.

Yelp
Drove here on a Sunday traveling through Oregon, taking a detour just for the pastries. And then they were sold out Speaks for their pastries but was really disappointed. I am on a SW-FL to NE-WA roadtrip and this was supposed to be my monthly treat

Moe B.

Yelp
Got to love the place, fascinating food, and a lovely owner. Try the eggplant dish, it's worth to die.

Kendra H.

Yelp
If I was OK, nothing special. The owner seems amazing and very friendly. The restaurant seems a little outdated but it was still clean. We probably won't return it wasn't anything impressive. We go to French restaurants in most areas we go, we were a little disappointed with this one.

Andria W.

Yelp
My favorite bakery in town! I love getting the almond paste croissant, jalepino/ham/cheese croissant, and plain croissants to being to my parents in Portland. The bakery is quiet and decorated to give a french-bakery vibe. Service is always friendly. When I dine-in, I always grab an iced coffee. They use frozen cubes of coffee as ice cubes to prevent the coffee from watering down - I love it!

lizette n.

Yelp
First time in Corvallis and we found this cute French bakery on Yelp. We were a party of four and we ordered some pastries including their perfect croissants and two of us ordered the crepes with banana and nutella chocolate. Everything was sooooo delicious! The coffee was amazing as well.

Charles L.

Yelp
This French bakery produces scrumptious croissants, pain-au-chocolate, eclairs, Napoleons, and other delicacies that are every bit as authentic as what you would find in Paris. They also offer custom cakes for birthdays, weddings, and other occasions. I have not tried one, but if they are even a fraction as good as the rest of their offerings, they would be delicious. Business hours as of this writing are: Wednesday - Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm Saturday 7:00am to 3:00pm Sunday 8:00am to 2:00pm (closed Monday and Tuesday)

David B.

Yelp
I walked 2.5 miles here from the OSU campus at 6 am, and 2.5 miles back (it was a very pretty walk), and it was 100% worth it. I had the best quiche and croissant of my life; I only regret that they had no baguettes at the time for me to sample! Absolutely returning next time I am in Corvallis.

Juliette C.

Yelp
Our weekend go to for the best pastry options. Quiche, chocolate and almond croissants are all delicious.

Hanna V.

Yelp
Authentic and divine. If you haven't stopped in, put this lovely spot on your list. Almond cream croissant will melt in your mouth. Made fresh every morning. You cannot go wrong here!

Nancy B.

Yelp
I had high expectations when I walked in the door and discovered how authentic the decor is. Sadly, I was very disappointed with the food. I had quiche Lorraine that was soggy, served with their green salad that had wilted pieces of lettuce with black edges that had seen better days. I had a cheese danish that had tough pastry. I'm giving it two stars because the service and coffee were pretty good, but I won't be back.

Crystal S.

Yelp
Beautiful tasty desserts. This place is owned and operated by actual French people. Their desserts were absolutely beautiful very decadent and very satisfying.
