Nestled near Highbury Fields, Le Péché Mignon is a charming French cafe where you can savor fresh pastries, artisan coffee, and hearty classics in a cozy, welcoming setting.
"There are lots of things the French do better—art house movies, stripes, wispy fringes—and arguably the countryside is one of them. If your ideal countryside escape includes wafting about a sun-blasted scene with a fresh croissant in one hand and a slab of comté under your arm for later, go to Le Péché Mignon. This adorable Highbury Fields cafe is one blue-shuttered farmhouse away from transporting you to Brittany. Cycling home with a pain au chocolat (straight from the oven) and a hardback-sized croque monsieur in your front basket is strongly encouraged for the full Francophile experience. " - sinead cranna
"If you’re taking a stroll around Highbury Fields and feel in need of either a) caffeine or b) a croque monsieur the size of your face, then Le Péché Mignon is your place. Even if you don’t, it’s worth making a pit stop in this adorable French cafe and shop off Holloway Road. It’s a hush-hush favourite among Islington residents and once inside it’s easy to see why. Fresh croissants and pain au chocolats come straight from the oven—laminated, buttery, and all things you want. While the croque monsieur is a hardback-sized unit that’s gooey with béchamel. The fridge houses slabs of comté and wheels of Baron Bigod, and walking out of here with a coffee and a pastry on Saturday morning is our ideal Francophile experience." - Jake Missing
