How This Stunning Island Became the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean

The 18 Best Saint-Martin Restaurants - Eater

"Grand Case was once known for its abundant natural salt pond, which produced salt crystals to be ground into powder with metal presses. One of those historic salt presses is on view (along with other artifacts) in the circa-1872 Creole building that houses Le Pressoir. After working as a manager for the previous owners, Milaure Soucy took over the restaurant with partner Gill Sacconi, and the duo have reimagined it as an intimate dining experience filled with little surprises. Choose your three-course adventure from chef Jerome Droingt, who reinvigorates classic French dishes with local ingredients. Standouts include the foie gras terrine spiked with Rhum Clement, and roasted pineapple and coconut chutney, while main courses bring a rustic bouillabaisse with local fish, island-raised hen breast stuffed with porcini mushrooms, or tender Iberian pluma steak stuffed with candied duck and dressed in thyme gravy. This place is the absolute best restaurant I’ve been too. We have been coming to the island for years and this is by far the best. The food is incredible, the attention to the details is impeccable, and the service is like no other! We enjoyed it so much we went twice in one week. This will be on the top of our list for years to come! Gil & Milaure, the Owners, are amazing and Annalise’s & Alex were the best! We truly could not have asked for anything more.

What a treat! If you’re looking for delicious French cuisine outside of France, this is the place to be. We opted for the three-course tasting menu and chose two different items to sample some of the great options the restaurant has to offer. While the dish descriptions may sound ordinary, they completely surprised us! For starters, the famous egg parfait was truly exceptional. It was perfectly prepared and packed with flavor. My partner’s foie gras featured a unique Caribbean twist that was delightful. For our entrees, we were equally impressed. The bouillabaisse was incredibly flavorful, and the Iberian pluma was surprisingly delicious. The decor was charming and romantic, and the service was friendly! I highly recommend stopping by the rum bar next door after your meal to help digest what will undoubtedly be one of the best meals you'll have on the island.

So good we are going back again two days later. This is the best restaurant we have been to so far. Nobody else on the island seems to be able to make a traditional martini!

We had such a wonderful time at Le Pressoir! The attentive service, incredible French wines and the food were all impeccable! The lobster and tenderloin Rossini were both devine and we can't wait to return. Thank you for such a warm welcome!

this is an amazing culinary experience in St martin. First of all the owner is on site and on premises overseeing all operations, which is a big bonus as everything runs perfect and smoothly. The food presentation and the meal was fabulous and it’s going amazing. Great place forhaving great food on the island.

It's definitely one of the best restaurants you can find in Saint Martin! Everything was so delicious. The presentation of the dish was stunning! I truly recommend trying the chicken breast, so tender and it was melting in my mouth 🤤

Excellent restaurant, perhaps the best one in Grand Case. I tried the most popular ones (Rainbow Cafe, Ocean 82) and Le Pressoir simply has the friendlier, most attentive staff. If you spent a few days on the island you know that most places basically have subpar service, but not at Le Pressoir. The food is excellent, fine dining at its best, and the location is very nice although it does lack a sea view (which is why it gets 4 stars out of 5). Even better, there is a cigar bar next door - that is separate from the restaurant but part of the same ownership - for continuing your evening in complete relax. In my opinion, this is simply the best restaurant in the neighborhood, I have attached a picture of my veal chop covered in Brie cheese and truffle. Don’t miss the egg parfait with truffle, a highlight for sure.
