Le Soleil - Review - Parkmerced - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Le Soleil, the Vietnamese restaurant with an original location in the Richmond, just opened a second outpost inside Stonestown Galleria. You can still get their flambéed quail, plus other staples like shaken beef, roast crab, and a whole grilled branzino. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists. Flambéed Quail and Pho Risotto Touch Down at Stonestown Galleria | Eater SF

"An Inner Richmond Vietnamese restaurant has opened a second location in Park Merced at Stonestown Galleria after over thirty years in business. Daughters Bianca and Kandyce Wong are running things, taking the restaurant's beloved menu and adding a few items of their own, and giving the new Stonestown Galleria digs an updated look." - Dianne de Guzman

Everything was absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations! The emperor rolls were crispy and light, perfect with the fresh lettuce and fish sauce. The fried chicken was golden and crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside — so satisfying. The beef short ribs were flavorful, paired beautifully with the creamy risotto. The whole fried fish was a showstopper — crispy skin, moist meat, and topped with fresh herbs and just the right amount of seasoning. Every dish was full of flavor and well-balanced. Great service and cozy atmosphere too. We left very happy and will definitely be coming back.

We saw that the restaurant was having its grand opening, so we decided to check it out! We went on a weekend around 6:30 PM and had to wait about 50 minutes, but the staff was very nice and even made some accommodations to shorten our wait. Super appreciated! The interior is bright, elegant, and modern — definitely not your typical Vietnamese restaurant atmosphere. ✨ As for the menu, I did feel it was a bit limited in variety. That said, the dishes they do offer seem to be well thought out, and we noticed several popular plates being ordered at many tables. Our favorites: The risotto – A must-try! We saw this on almost every table. It was creamy and flavorful, though the portion size was a bit on the smaller side. The fish – Perfectly cooked with a tender texture and balanced seasoning. It came with some salad, which was a good addition! The mussel: they thoughtfully included an extra plate for mussel shells — such a small but considerate touch! The taste was good too. Overall, prices are a little on the higher side, but the ambiance and quality make it a good spot when you want to treat someone to a nice meal. Great for date night or a special dinner with friends.

Good food and service! Service was fast and attentive. They were mindful of us and noticed when we had a slight spill. I also like how they gave us new plates. The food was very good. Our favorites were the chicken lollipops and braised beef curry with garlic bread.

Delicious and fresh Vietnamese/Chinese fusion tapas style dishes. Fresh and creative with wonder blend of southeast Asian spices on fresh California ingredients. Love everything we had and just as good as the original restaurant in San Francisco Clement street but easier parking. I really enjoyed the cocktail “Mango a Go Go”. We will be back soon with friends.

Adding an upscale vibe to the mall, Stonestown gets a beautiful addition with Le Soleil. A place you can go to avoid the mall rats, noisy teens, college kids and have a quieter experience and good food. We loved going to the Clement St location and thrilled when we heard Le Soleil was coming to the mall. We came here after they first opened so expected they would have some kinks as many places experience when they first open. I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful space and beautiful decor. It felt like an oasis in the midst of the bustling mall. I met my mom and sister who were already seated. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, which had some interesting interpretations on traditional dishes like pho risotto-great depth of flavor and portioned more like a starter, very rich and unique. I had the vegetarian fresh spring rolls which were delicious. The squab was flambés tabled side but not my thing so I passed on it, it looked underwhelming because it wasn’t accompanied by anything, so I guess I thought it looked lonely on the plate. My sister liked it. The fried branzino was wonderful though I would ask for the sauce on the side as it felt a bit too much on the fish. There’s also another sauce that comes with it ( a ginger sauce which I prefer) This was my favorite dish. Very well presented and delicious. There were vegetarian dishes I wanted to try but we ordered a lot of food so I’ll have to come back which I plan to do soon. The carpaccio-style beef dish was very flavorful and a great starter. Overall I think this is a wonderful place to have a more relaxed experience during a day at the mall. I think the service could flow a bit better and I believe it will improve as they refine their system. The proprietors have been around for a long time and have honored the flavors of Vietnamese cuisine while infusing some interesting flavors without being too much. Price point is more than you’d find in the food court but worth it in my opinion.

Fun and new beautiful space. Came here the day before 4th July and it was busy so we waited for a table for 6 for about 20 minutes. Highlights: Pho Risotto creamy and delicious Garlic noodles were not very flavorful or chewy. Lacking some garlic flavor Bo Luc Lac was notable favorite seasoned very well Hai San Spinach was ok they mixed it table side Braised short rib was so good! We ordered more bread as we needed more to soak up the curry. Just note they charge extra $5 for this Chicken lollipops were seasoned to perfection and not so greasy taking off one star since we waited for our garlic bread for extra 10-12 minutes.

Good and fast service. I like the ambience of the place too. All of our orders are good! We ordered the ff: garlic noodles Bò Lúc Lac (beef is tender and juicy! Perfect for the sauce) Braised short ribs ( beef tender and juicy, the Curry sauce is flavorful) Chicken lollipops ( crispy, tender and juicy)

Traveling to SF, I stopped by Stone Town Mall to grab something to eat before heading to the airport. It’s a busy mall with a lot going on, especially on the weekend. I found a Vietnamese restaurant there that’s not your typical spot—it’s Vietnamese food with a twist. The vibe was comfortable, the service was super friendly, and the staff was knowledgeable and attentive. They recommended some unique dishes, and I’m glad we tried them. • Pho Risotto – A Vietnamese-European fusion that really works. I’ve had a lot of risotto, and this one was excellent. The rice was cooked perfectly, and the rib meat just melted in your mouth. • Squid Fried Rice – I was skeptical at first because of the dark color, but it was delicious. Definitely a “don’t judge a book by its cover” moment. • Drunken Clams – Loved the aroma from the herbs and the flavor was spot on. • Seaweed Salad & Miso Butter Mushrooms – Great vegetarian options. • Whole Branzino – Crispy on the outside, soft and tender inside. A standout dish. • Lollipop Chicken – Soooo good I could’ve eaten two orders. Super tender and full of flavor. I hope they can improve the noodles , I love garlic but not as impress as I thought. Overall, the food wasn’t too salty, and you could really taste the traditional Vietnamese herbs that brought out the aroma and flavor. The menu is on the smaller side, but every dish we tried was executed perfectly. The staff mentioned they’ll be adding more dishes soon—can’t wait to come back and try them! BTW We didn’t took all the pictures so good we ate it all .

Yelp
Le Soleil at Stonestown is always a good choice for French influenced Vietnamese cuisine with a modern twist. The grilled squid and blue prawn are great starter as they open up your appetite. Chicken lollipops is crispy and juicy, squid ink fried rice is so tasty , and curry dunguness crab cannot be missed. The ambience is clean and modern , staffs know their food and excellent service.

Yelp
I recently dined at Le Soleil, a restaurant that specializes in Asian fusion cuisine, especially Vietnamese flavors. The overall atmosphere is warm and comfortable, and the decoration has an elegant Southeast Asian feel. It is not too formal, but retains a refined dining experience. It is suitable for gatherings with friends or occasions where you want to enjoy a good meal in a relaxed manner This time I tried four dishes, and each one was impressive. Braised Short Rib was the highlight of the whole meal. The beef ribs were stewed very soft and tasty, and the sauce was rich and slightly sweet, which was especially suitable for rice. Although Tiger Prawns is a classic method, the heat is just right, the shrimp meat is chewy and the sauce is slightly spicy to enhance the freshness. Tom Yum Mussels is a very distinctive dish. The soup base is sour and spicy, very appetizing, and the mussels themselves are also very fresh. Lotus Root is a side dish that surprised me a little. It is very refreshing, with a light sweetness and crispy taste, which is both special and refreshing The service is also very good. The waiter is very familiar with the menu and will make recommendations based on taste preferences. The rhythm of the entire dining process is also well controlled, without rushing or dragging In general, Le Soleil is an Asian restaurant with creative dishes, solid taste, and a warm environment. It is especially suitable for diners who want to try Vietnamese/Southeast Asian cuisine that combines tradition and modernity

Yelp
Wanted to try LeSoleil based on a recent article in the S.F. Chronicle. A beautiful restaurant and easily got a reservation for lunch on Open Table for a Saturday a few weeks in advance. There were three of us so we tried 5 dishes. The chicken lollipops were crisply and flavorful in their little fry basket with an aioli side. Seaweed salad was a surprise in its unique coloring! Very flavorful and refreshing. Imperial rolls were our favorite. The flavors in it were just a step above others imperial rolls we have had elsewhere Whole squid was nice but we would've prefer it served as rings rather than slivers. Good but probably least flavorful from all of the other dishes. Bo luc lac was definitely a hit. A regular item on Vietnamese menus and this did not disappoint. A generous portion of tasty rib eye. We had a noon reservation and the place was pretty quiet. But it was busy when we left. There are two other locations of Le Soleil in S.F. and they each have core dishes and then some unique ones for the location.

Yelp
I guess I'm not so much a shopping center restaurant kinda gal. I don't like hearing the muzac, hearing the shoppers, or watching them traipse by doing their shopping. Perhaps I'll grow accustomed to it, because it seems to be all the rage at Stonestown, Serramonte, Hillsdale, etc. Despite that, we were anxious to try the food. We started off with the Imperial Rolls: $14 -4* They contained pork, crab and wood ear mushrooms. Quite tasty, and only minimally greasy, but they were very tiny, only about an inch and half long. Followed in close succession by Garlic Noodles: $15 - 2.5* Good texture, but almost no garlic flavor, very bland and kind of a small portion at that price Miso Butter Mushrooms $14 -2.5*. I liked the variety and they seemed very fresh. The portion size was good, but again, underwhelming in the flavor department. Chicken Lollipops $14 - 4.5*. By far our favorite. well seasoned and delightfully crunchy. came to the table hot! Green Beans with preserved Radish $13 -3.0*. We couldn't detect the radish at all. The beans were al dente as they should be. Unreasonable price for this dish. Overall: Food: 26/40 Service: 17/20 value: 13/20 Atm/Intangibles: 13/20 Overall: 69/100 barely a 3 star

Yelp
Food was good but service needs work. Tea: cool to see the ball of tea leaves unravel in the hot water to reveal flowers inside. Tea has a lightly sweet, floral note. Imperial rolls: 9/10. Crispy with balanced flavors. Served with butter lettuce, pickled carrots/radish, vermicelli noodles, mint. Pho risotto: 8.5/10. Deep, smoky, beefy flavors from the short rib that are followed by a classic pho broth aftertaste. The only gripe I have is the inconsistency between the amount of meat in the dish. Looking at other reviewers pictures, some people have huge ribs or even two of them. Meanwhile ours was small, and there wasn't enough meat for the dish. It's really rich and heavy, which makes it better as a shared dish Curry braised short rib: 7/10. Curry flavor didn't penetrate the meat, and the meat was NOT tenderized properly. The curry had good flavor, but the meat was so tough that I didn't want to eat it. Came w a little bit of potatoes, hard carrots, and a few pieces of toast to dip. Beef pho: 7/10. Average, good. Spicy fish balls: 6/10. It's whatever. It looks really nice from the outside right? But they didn't even bother to wipe the booths clean in between parties. There's literally crumbs of leftover food to the left and right of where I'm sitting. For a restaurant that's so focused on ambience, cleanliness should be the bare minimum. We placed the empty water pitcher on the edge of the table and servers came our table multiple times without refilling our water. Even after we asked for a refill, he didn't do it. We had to ask for water again after ten minutes had passed before someone got it for us. Waiters dropped food off onto the table without asking who it belonged to. Overall the foods good, but there's def a myriad of issues that need work. If you're pricing higher than majority of your competitors, then I'm going to have higher expectations. There's potential here and hopefully, things get better with time. I'd probably give it some months at least before trying again

Yelp
Le Soleil completely blew me away. From the moment we walked up, I could already tell this was going to be a great experience -- it gives modern, upscale café vibes. My boyfriend and I came on a Saturday around 3 PM with no wait, and we were greeted by the kindest waitress. Inside, it's spotless and beautifully styled. The menu was so tempting we ended up ordering three rounds of appetizers! Everything tasted incredibly fresh -- you can really tell they use high-quality ingredients. I especially loved the tiger prawns and the wagyu tartare with the shrimp cracker -- so flavorful and beautifully presented. The quail was another standout, and they even torch it tableside! My boyfriend got the coconut drink (served in a real coconut!) and I had the Blush Crush cocktail -- super refreshing. I also had my eye on the alcoholic strawberry matcha for next time. Our server was so sweet and genuine. We chatted a bit, and she mentioned they'd just started offering drinks during the day. Later, she replied to my Instagram story and said she hoped I'd get to try the strawberry matcha next time -- such a thoughtful and personal touch that really stuck with me. Already planning my return. This place is a gem.

Yelp
Service: 2/5 -Our waiter never came by to pick up empty plates; it was a different waitress who happened to be serving the next table to pick them up. -They also don't rearrange the plates on the table to place more dishes; they expect YOU to do it for them. -Kitchen or server lost one of our orders so we ended up canceling it. Food: 2.5/5 Chicken lollipops - I was expecting better presentation given the vibes of the restaurant but the pieces looked very sloppy. All pieces were mostly breading. Disappointing. Pho risotto - Unique twist. Fiancé loved the rib bone- mentioned it was very tender. However, the risotto itself was pretty salty and instead of being creamy, it was reeeeaaalllyyyy heavy. Squid ink fried rice - Micro pieces of squid in this dish and shrimp was non-existent. Tom yum mussels - Salty. One of my mussels had a barnacle on it. Gross. Bf said the winning dish was imperial rolls and it's an appetizer soo....

Yelp
The five of us met here for lunch today at 11:30am. I made a reservation on OpenTable. We were seated alongside the wall near the hostess station. Menus are on paper. There's also a special lunch menu. Starters - * imperial rolls. Five little rolls. One butter leaf, small mound of rice noodles, shredded carrots. Dipping sauce. Hard to roll given one whole leaf only and two little heart leaves. * chicken lollipops. Six drummettes. Piping temperature hot. Dipping sauce. Very good. Lunch special- comes with three fish balls & choice of beverage. We all selected blooming hot tea. * friend & I each ordered the laksa soup. Two good size prawns with some strips of squid. 1/2 soft boiled egg. Vermicelli noodles in a curry broth. * hubby got the pho bo. Wagyu beef, brisket, meatballs, thin rice noodles. He enjoyed it as this is his go to at any Vietnamese restaurant. * friend got the congee with beef. He said good. Lastly- our fifth diner got the miso butter mushrooms. This vegetable dish had great umami. Three variety of mushrooms. We all agreed this dish would be perfect with rice. Service was friendly and efficient. Dirty dishes removed frequently. This being Saturday there were many diners. We stayed 2 1/2 hours catching up. The wait staff said would let us know if they needed our table or not. We left after 2pm. Pro tip - there are two all gender restrooms located inside the restaurant. No need to go into the food court to use the restroom. Located at Stonestown Galleria 2d level by Kura Revolving Sushi & across from Supreme Dumpling. Overall 3.5 stars.

Yelp
Haven't been to Stonestown for awhile so decided to check it out and was glad we did. Upstairs across from the food court were multiple new(ish) food spots to try. We chose to try this restaurant style spot. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and worked as a team especially since we needed GF options. We decided to try the fried fish, pricey but beautifully presented and tasted really good. Next was the sautéed mushrooms, very tasty. And finally the squid fried rice which was easily eaten off a plate (no bowl required). Seasoning on dishes were light and distinctive. Seating had regular (some with booth style bench seating on one side) and high top tables. 2 all gender restrooms which were spacious. More menu options to try next time.

Yelp
My family and I came here last week as we were originally going to try out Supreme Dumping but it was too long of a wait and Le Soleil was across from it. They are also another new restaurant that was added to Stonestown mall. We put our names down and was seated within 30 minutes which wasn't bad but this place is not cheap. They have a small menu which makes it easy for us to decide as someone like me who is always indecisive when there's lot of dishes on the menu! Service was good, the waitress always came around asking us how we're doing, filling water cups etc. What we tried: - Beef Tartar: Delicious appetizer to start off with. It comes with a giant shrimp crackers. - Imperial Rolls: I thought this was okay and it didn't have anything special to be honest. It came with crab but the crab tastes like canned crab not fresh ones. - Shaking Beef: Stir fried beef with some onions and lettuce at the bottom. It was a bit too saucy for me. - Lap Mei Rice: the meat tender and good flavors! Overall I think it was okay considering the price is on the higher end and the amount they give you is on the smaller end.

Yelp
A very interesting and refreshing take on French-Vietnamese fusion. The space is modern and thoughtfully designed, and the service was exceptional. The staff was attentive to allergies and made great recommendations which made me feel genuinely catered to. Huge shoutout to our server Alex, who went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Favorites from the meal: Chicken lollipops - Juicy, well-marinated, and super crispy. They even scraped the meat up the bone for easy eating (wish they offered gloves though!). Pho risotto - A creative twist on pho, served with a tender beef rib that's both sweet and savory. Comforting and rich without being too heavy. Pickled starters - Surprisingly the highlight! The tomato had a subtle plum flavor, and the bitter melon was refreshing and balanced. Shaken beef - Melt-in-your-mouth tender and packed with flavor. Just wish it came with rice to soak up the goodness. So many other dishes on the menu looked interesting, will definitely plan to come back to try more. A great spot for flavorful fusion and warm hospitality!

Yelp
I'm going to give this place 3.5 stars, I mean don't get me wrong, everything we ordered tasted pretty good but the prices and the portions just don't add up. The place is nicely decorated and very clean but I just don't think it's worth it. Our server was very nice and attentive, she constantly checked up on us and ensured we were doing okay. My favorites that we ordered were the lollipop chicken, string beans, and bu luc lac. Everything else tasted fine! I'd try something else if I came back, I don't think I'll be back though.

Yelp
We ate dinner at this new Le Soleil at Stonestown Mall. It was a Wednesday evening and easy to get a table without a reservation. We ordered the Tom Yum Mussels (in coconut milk & kaffir), garlic noodles, green beans sautéed with bits of preserved vegetables, and the braised short rib which was tender and lean beef cooked in curry with potatoes & carrots and served with soft slices of garlic bread to sop up the delicious sauce. We enjoyed our dishes so much that we ate up almost all the food. Nice and brightly lit space, with good service, decent portions and reasonable prices. Definitely not typical mall food but rather excellent cuisine in a good place to gather and relax. I will return to try more dishes!

Yelp
Who says, malls are dead? Stonestown is THRIVING (along with Valley Fair)...where weekends feel like black friday...except no one is really shopping. They're getting their grub on! Le Soleil is the latest addition to Stonestown along with Supreme Dumplings. Kizuki Ramen, Ninja Sushi, HeyTea, and Raising Cane's are in the works! No more Potato Corner tho. Le Soleil is a family-owned resto that has been a staple in Inner Richmond since the 90s (they also have a location in Hong Kong). I haven't visited in years so I'm glad they opened their new location in the mall which is more accessible. They're located on Stonetown's second floor across from Supreme Dumplings and Tang Bar. Currently in soft opening phase. Walk-in and rezzies via phone. They're open every day from 11 am - 7:30 pm (Sundays close at 7 pm). M E N U Vietnamese-French and Asian Fusion Cuisine. Not sure if they have alkie. While they serve the best hits from their Clement street location, this location has new modern fusion dishes like raw blue prawn aguachile and phở risotto. Le Soleil is best known for their chả giò (imperial rolls), cơm gà hải nam (hainan chicken rice), and bò lúc lắc (shaking beef). F O O D * Chả Giò: Imperial Rolls ($14): https://tinyurl.com/2entfzme Perfectly executed, the imperial rolls were hot and crunchy with a savory pork, crab, taro, and wood ear mushroom filling (rice paper wrapper). They didn't skimp on the crab and the accompanying nước chấm was punchy, not watered down. Served w/ bibb lettuce, herbs, đồ chua (pickled carrots), and vermicelli for DIY wraps. * Bò Lúc Lắc: Shaking Beef ($28 + $3 rice): https://tinyurl.com/mtfafvs6 - Requested rare Nice sear, the ribeye was super soft, well-marbled, and flavorful (cooked rare as requested). Needs a tad more sugar as it ran a bit too salty since their twist is with shoyu butter. Def need a bowl of rice as neutral base. Served with the traditional lime and pepper dipping sauce. To go for others, I ordered the Phở Risotto w/ beef rib ($28 x2) and Garlic Noodles ($15) which they said, were really good. S E R V I C E Warm and friendly service from Evonji. The BOH is hella efficient with food quickly arriving. I was in/out in 25 minutes during lunch. A M B I A N C E Huge upgrade from their OG location, this space is modern and sophisticated with ample seating, front "patio" (not outdoors), and a semi-private dining room. Overall, Le Soleil is a great addition to Stonestown serving elevated Viet Fusion with legit flavors. While the parking situation can be a hot mess, I'm so happy to see the mall get upgraded food options from when I used to work there (RIP California Crisp, Sorabol, and Hot Dog on a Stick). Looking forward to returning to Le Soleil for their Hainan Chicken when it's available!

Yelp
Last Friday after watching the Jurassic World Rebirth movie, we met up with our other friends for dinner. First we thought of going to the new dumpling restaurant. There was a wait of 15-20 minutes. We saw across was the Le Soleil that was a newly opened Vietnamese Fusion restaurant. We checked in and we got our table. The ambiance was beautiful. We did not get any drinks but just hot water with sliced lemon. We ordered the Imperial Rolls, Tofu Eggplant & Bo Luc Lac (ribeye) with bowls of rice. The flavors of the food were delicious. Actually we doubled our orders as the servings were in small portions. However, we enjoyed the food. The service was great. The server kept on checking on us. I recommend this restaurant especially after the movie or shopping.

Yelp
Le Soleile at Stonestown Galleria is a delightful little gem. While the portions might be on the smaller side, every bite is a testament to the quality and care put into their dishes. It's a place where flavor reigns supreme over quantity. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The staff is friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. I highly recommend tartare, tom yum mussel, ribeye cubes, and definitely the grill squid (with excellent sauce) it was an explosion of flavor that I won't soon forget.

Yelp
Came here with a party of 3 people in a Friday night and was seated fairly quickly. My favorite dish we ordered was their Pho Risotto. The rib bone in this dish was so tender and you can really taste the pho flavor in the risotto, this is such a unique dish! We also ordered their miso butter mushrooms and veggie spring rolls, which was good, but didn't stand out for the price. I'd love to try their crab dishes if I ever come back again.

Yelp
We had high hopes, but the experience was a bit mixed. The Lotus Salad should really be renamed Lemongrass Salad--the lotus was minimal and more of a garnish than a main component. The drunken clams were served cold with a vinaigrette dressing, which was refreshing, and the tom yum mussels were served hot with a delicious broth--definitely recommend getting the butter bread to soak it up. The tartare with shrimp chips and the mushroom dish was solid, and the tofu eggplant dish was flavorful. However, we had to wait a long time for rice, and frustratingly, tables seated after us received their food before we did. The squid ink fried rice was disappointing--the only thing "squid ink" about it was the black color. By the time our rice came, most of the dishes had gone cold. The person we assumed was the manager seemed to avoid eye contact and was not attentive, even as she delivered dishes to tables that arrived later than us. One cocktail spilled accidentally before it was even sipped; I thought I heard the server say it would be replaced, but that never happened. I could be wrong--but from a customer service perspective, a replacement would have been a nice gesture. The branzino was well-cooked, but the lettuce wraps served with it were barely enough for 2-3 bites. For a whole fish, more lettuce would've made it a fuller, more shareable dish. Overall, the food was okay, but the service experience really brought down the evening. I might consider coming back, knowing it's a newer spot that could still be ironing out its operations--but it would be with tempered expectations.

Yelp
Food 5/5, Service 5/5 and Atmosphere 5/5!1 La Soliel has a location on Clement Street, SF and Hong Kong. This is their newest location in Stonestown. We had to check it out! Planned dinner on a Saturday evening with a couple of my girlfriends. Excited to try their new location at our local mall. Knowing their food was always amazing, they did not disappoint! Dishes colorful, impeccable, delicious and gorgeously presented. The curried short ribs, non like you've had before! What!? Pho risotto, just yum! We enjoyed their curated cocktails also! Staff's professionalism and attention to detail, from the welcoming hostess to the attentive waitstaff, reflect the perfect coordination within this family owned team. The elegant and simple decor is inviting. The umbrella trees, the live plantation beautifully laid out around the restaurant. The choice in tables and chairs, the attention to detail with the customer in mind. (Baskets for our purses) Setting an atmosphere of warmth and calmness. Quietly welcoming guests to "Come eat with us and enjoy the dishes that our family has created" We would definitely return!

Yelp
What a welcome and exciting addition to Stonestown! My husband and I were excited Le Soleil opened their 2nd location closer to our house and with new, delicious dishes. I love that Stonestown is becoming a foodie destination, showcasing the flavors and different cultures of SF. We've eaten here a few times since they opened and here are our fave dishes that we've tried so far. Raw/Cold Dishes: Prawn Aguachile Small Plates: Chicken Lollipops, Bread & Beurre Center Table: Bo Luc Lac Veggies: Miso Butter Mushrooms Rice & Noodles: Pho Risotto & Squid Ink Fried Rice We especially love the chicken lollipops, pho risotto and the miso butter mushrooms. The chicken lollipops come out fresh out of the fryer and have a perfect crunch. The pho risotto has a creamy pho rice with a tasty and tender beef rib. The chimmichurri sauce is the perfect touch of freshness to the dish. The miso butter mushrooms have the right amount umami and we get this dish every single time. The mushrooms might be our favorite dish. We can't wait to try the rest of the menu and their newly added cocktails on our next visit. The service has been attentive and always made sure our water was filled. I also always appreciate when they ask about food allergies and make accommodations when possible. I am allergic to tobiko and was able to try the squid ink fried rice without it. The space was beautifully put together and we sometimes forget we're eating at Stonestown. If you're looking to have a relaxing and delicious dinner after shopping in Stonestown, make sure you make your reservation at Le Soleil!

Fancy Vietnamese food can almost be an oxymoron, but in this case the dishes were all pretty good! Tucked away a little in the mall, stumbled upon this place. Turns out they have another location in SF as well. I'd skip the vegi spring rolls, but everything else was great. The Pho risotto was a unique dish that I've never had before. Came with a beef a rib (they gave us an extra bone because they were small). Green beans were very standard. The bo luc lac (shaking beef) was tender and flavorful. Chicken lollipops looked dry, but were surprisingly yummy and moist. Short ribs with curry was also a surprise dish we liked. Lastly, who doesn't like garlic noodles? Overall, yummy! Portions felt a little small, which probably made this feel like fancy/expensive Vietnamese food, but we fed 6 people with this.

Yelp
Stonestown is now a food mecca. Now that retail stores have gone away, Stonestown is really utilizing the space for what people in SF (and people who visit!) want to do: eat and expect good food! I had no idea that Le Soleil opened. It's upstairs right behind Kura Revolving Sushi Bar and right across from the also new Supreme Dumplings. I will start off by saying that the staff we interacted with were friendly and welcoming. We (3 of us) waited about 30 minutes on a Thursday around 7 pm. I wish I got the name of our main server because she was a delight! I say "main" because while she took our order and checked in on us regularly, several different people brought out the food. Here's what we ordered: -Bread + Beurre $6- The flavor was very good, but the consistency was a little over-toasted. My daughter described it as "dry like sandpaper." (Yikes) -Vegetarian Spring Rolls $14- The king oyster mushroom was a hit mixed in with the sauce they drizzle in (which was poured onto the dish as it was being presented to our table -Bo Luc Lac (ribeye, shoyu butter, lemon pepper) $28 - this was savory, tender, full of flavor -Miso Butter Mushrooms (maitake, king oyster, shiitake) $14 - Yummy. I could eat this by itself or over rice. The seasoning was perfect. Green Beans $13 - perfect balance of flavor and slight crispiness Garlic Noodles $15 - What's there to describe? These were perfectly garlicky, perfectly cooked. While everything tasted very good, the food came out sporadically. We were well into eating most of the food until we realized we hadn't received the Bo Luc Lac (ribeye) and the Bread + Beurre. We eventually got the Bo Luc Lac, but had to ask again for the Bread + Beurre. Realistically, the bread should have come out first, but it was last - when we were getting toward the middle/end of our meal. Overall, it's a nice atmosphere. You wouldn't realize you're inside of a mall. Good food. Friendly service. Since it is newly opened, perhaps they could use a teeny bit of checking in on the orders. Truly, it was a good experience.

Yelp
I came here for lunch and had a lovely experience. I had the Bo luc lac, pho risotto, green beans, and Thai iced tea. The bo luc lac (beef) was very tender and flavorful. The pho risotto was good, but a tad too rich for my taste. And the green beans had a nice pickled veggie to it, but it was a little soggy. I'm used to the quick fired string beans that still retain some crunch. The service was good, but I did think the meal was a little overpriced.

Yelp
On a second attempt, we were able to try the newest location of Le Soleil at Stonestown. Having never been to the original location on Clement, I had no expectations. We ordered the chicken lollipops, braised beef, the Lap Mei rice and the spinach with egg drop sauce/gravy. Everything we had was delicious and very flavorful. My favorite was the spinach which came with bits of calamari and shrimp and garnished with fish roe. It was a simple dish but was delicate and complex in flavors. The braised beef had a curry sauce and came with toasted bread. The Lap Mei rice, which is not exactly like the Cantonese style, came with pork jowl instead of preserved Chinese bacon. The pork was so tender. Chicken lollipops were fried to perfection (I mean how can you not like fried chicken?). Service was attentive. It wasn't super crowded. It was a weekday afternoon so our food came not long after we ordered. The decor is tasteful and comfortable with lots of space. I'm so glad that Stonestown is becoming a food destination! The menu is a bit limited and the prices are more than what you would normally pay for similar dishes at other Vietnamese restaurants. That said, I will definitely be back.

Yelp
First off the restaurant is gorgeous. You can see how much thought and attention went into the design choices of the restaurant. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food was a ride! Some standout dishes, the wagyu tartare (fresh, punchy), the chicken lollipops, the tom yum mussels. The owner even gift us a little dessert (coconut jelly).

Yelp
My Highlights: Lollipop chicken was fried chicken that was juicy and crispy. Lap Mei Rice was tasty! It was steamed white rice with Chinese sausage, pork jowl (tender and sweet, similar to Chinese bbq pork), broccoli, and an onsen egg (think poached egg, but while in the shell). Garlic noodles was good, but I would have liked more garlic flavor, still good though because it wasn't very oily. Miso butter mushrooms were very good! It had great umami flavor! Next part is not bad, but not as great in my opinion. The Imperial rolls contain crab, but the crab flavor tasted like it was canned crab and not fresh. The whole branzino was $44. It was cooked well, the flesh was flakey and the outside crispy. But the sauce lacked flavor. Together it did not feel like a good expenditure. Do I regret it... no. Would I order it again? Also no. Overall, great new sit down restaurant to try at Stonestown. I will return for the lollipops and the rice, but I also plan to try the phò risotto, the squid ink fried rice, bò lúc lǎc (ribeye), and braised short rib at minimum so stay tuned.

Yelp
Accessibility (Parking / Wait Time) 1/1 Star: Mall parking is easy. 5 -10 minute wait time for a late lunch on a Sunday. _____ Service (Waiter / Cleanness / Ambiance) 1/1 Star: They look short staffed right now. Service was good but sparce. Clean with a fresh ambiance. _____ Taste (0=Not Edible / 1=Edible / 2=Good (average) / 3=Must Try!) 3/3 Stars: The Pho Risotto is a must try! It first taste like pho when it hits your tongue, but then melts into more of a risotto. _____ Overall Experience 5/5 Stars _____ Last Words Staffing levels need to improve. When they increase staffing levels I hope they keep the quality of service high as the staff they do have a high quality. Order at least twice as much as you would normally eat or you will leave hungry. Portions are tiny.

Yelp
It's in the Stonestown Mall on the 2nd floor. We ordered squid fried rice, braised beef short ribs in coconut curry, grilled Quail with lemon dipping sauce, lollipop fried chicken, and the imperial spring roll.. The service was incredible. They checked on us at all times as needed. They changed out our plates just to give us fresh plates for the next dish. It didn't feel like it was in the mall. There are bar tables and bar chairs and regular tables. They also have a sink/handwash station outside the restrooms. That's a plus for me. Price is fair and food was delish.

Yelp
EVEN THE BROCCOLI WAS GREAT! There was no line when we went Saturday night. The service was decent for a soft opened spot. They did run out of a few dishes by the time we went (8pm) but everything we ordered was perfect! Would've ordered two orders of the quail if we were super hungry since its quite small. The pork jowl rice is a must! Rice is very flavorful! We got a discount during their spot opening!

Yelp
It's a beautiful space, with a warm modern feel. The staff was great, but the food felt a little on the expensive side for what we got. Came here for lunch with my adult kid, and we both ordered the lunch specials. He got the chicken pho, and I got the Laksa noodle soup. Both were beautifully presented, and came with a bowl of three fish balls in broth, which were tasty. Kid liked the pho. My Laksa broth was delicious, but I felt that the two shrimp included had no natural sea sweet shrimp flavor. I got the feeling they were blanched separately and then tossed into the bowl with the noodles and soup. The set meal included your choice of beverage, and we both picked the flowering hot tea, which was fun to watch as the tea leaves unfurled in their glass cup. I think I'd only return if I felt flush with funds or if someone else was buying!

Yelp
Food - Pricey for what it's worth. Flavor is not on point. One of the dishes looked like you will be in the toilet for a while and the other dish looked like someone puked in it. Service- took too long Ambiance- smells bad and and not impressed for the price Did I mention the price is high for what it's worth ? Whoever gave them a 5 stars must be fake and are their friends. Save your money and try somewhere else.

Yelp
Love the decor. Sink located outside the bathroom, which is nice. Service is good. Portions are tapa-style. Umami Butter is saltier than I'd preferred @siecysdiary

Yelp
I don't write many reviews but unfortunately had to write one for this place. First, food took too long to come out. How does a bowl of pho take 20 mins to come out and that was a good 5 mins after my partner's Laksa. We got the lunch specials which included bowls or soup, HK style fish balls, and a drink. Food lacked the depth of flavor I expect from South-east Asian foods. Overall just felt like the laksa and pho lacked seasoning and wow factor that you would expect for a $24 bowl of soup. Staff was friendly.

Yelp
Food items are a bit pricey but overall food tasted really good and location is great Order: -Quail ($13 each): I reccomend getting 1 per person since its a pretty small portion; the dish was flavorful and aromatic -squid ink fried rice: fried rice had a nice texture to it, mixed with bits of squid; the dish is dry and focuses on flavor of rice itself (actually it was nice to mix this with the sauce from the tom yum, by itself it isn't too flavorful) -bo luc lac (ribeye): nicely cooked medium rare beef, meat not too tough, probably our favorite dish, a bit salty but overall good -tom yum mussels: the tom yum sauce had a nice umami taste, good portion of mussels meat Our overall order for 3 people came out to be ~$110-$120 with tip (~$38 per person) Went on a Wednesday afternoon, plenty of seating available, food came out pretty quickly Waiters awkwardly filled our water glasses up to the brim, but otherwise the service was quite pleasant and I'm thankful for how patient the waiters were

Yelp
Great service and amazing fusion Asian food. $$-$$$. Small plate. Great addition to Stone-town.

Yelp
What went well? Hostess was friendly. Small place but overall decor was nice. Presentation of food. What we were disappointed with? Food quality and taste need to be improved significantly. We ordered the imperial rolls, tom yum mussels, squid ink fried rice. Imperial rolls - okay, it was piping hot. Tom yum mussels - the mussels were filled with sand, the tom yum flavor didn't coat any of the mussels. Huge disappointment. We were then handed the bill before our last rice dish arrived. The kitchen forgot our dish, so we waited. It was probably the best of the dishes we ordered but nothing to write home about. Will not be returning anytime soon. Hope the kitchen will make some significant improvements.

Yelp
Went back today for more . I tried the fried rice with Chinese sausage, pork jowls, and egg. I also ordered the chicken lollipops . They were both delicious and good. The service was great and I didn't have to wait a long time. The place is really clean and bright. I love their table setting specially their eating utensils.

Yelp
I found the table arrangement was bad, we had no problem joining the waiting list for an hour, but there were so many empty tables in the restaurant. We got the texts, checked in, and still had to wait 10-15 minutes (while there were still plenty of empty tables) just to insist that we sit at the outside tables. And the waiter didn't offer to take our order, all of these made for a bad dining experience. Btw, pork rice was good.

Simon L.

Yelp
This was the worst dining experience that I've spent $100+ on (lunch for 2). Granted this restaurant seems to have just opened a couple months ago and might be able to fix some of these issues over time, but I had expected better given the high menu prices here. - The first table they sat us at was very wobbly and our drinks kept spilling, so we asked for another similar table but they said they could only move us to a high-top table, which I find uncomfortable (why do they even have high-top tables here?). They kept trying to fix the wobbling by putting napkins under the poorly designed table and it still kept wobbling. Eventually we just gave up and moved to a high top table - Immediately after placing our order, we wanted to make a small change to our order, but our waiter disappeared for over 10 minutes after taking our order. We tried asking some of the other staff to get our waiter's attention, but the other staff didn't even know who our waiter was - During our meal, we saw a mouse running around inside the restaurant, and the mouse later ran behind the bar area. The guests at the table next to us also saw the mouse and told the staff about it, but the staff tried to gaslight them and told them that they were just hallucinating about seeing a mouse - I had asked for chili sauce since some of the dishes were lacking flavor, hoping that they might have some homemade sauce, but the only sauce they could provide to me was just basic store-bought sriracha sauce, which I found bland and tasteless - Most importantly, the quality of the food was very disappointing and the portions were small for the relatively high menu prices. --- Imperial rolls: very small portion for $14 and tasted like any other cheap Vietnamese restaurant --- Miso butter mushrooms: the menu claims this contains maitake, king oyster, and shitake mushrooms, but what we got was just cheap stir fried portabella mushrooms that I could easily make at home --- Pho risotto: It was just bland rice and and a single rib bone, and the rib bone meat was very tough and very stuck onto the bone. Very disappointing for $28 --- Braised short rib: The only redeeming part of this entire meal was that the curry soup part of this dish had a good flavor, but the portion was relatively small and the short rib meat was very tough and hard to chew. - Near the end, the manager probably became aware that we were not having a good time and gave us a complimentary dessert - an almond tofu jelly, which unfortunately was also bland and as disappointing as the rest of this meal. If the menu prices were half as expensive, I would have gone in with lower expectations and could have excused some of these issues. But given the relatively high price here, it was a very disappointing experience and I will not eat here again unless they make significant improvements.

Yelp
I will give 5 stars for service, everyone was nice attentive. Ambiance is very nice and clean Food for the taste is nothing extraordinary kinda brand. The cutting egg yolk is funny, I can do it, I had no idea the purpose of this. The quails dish is a joke,

Yelp
So this is a brand new location of the Le Soleil family of restaurants. The cuisine is upscale Vietnamese with some nice innovations. We had the Imperial Rolls, the Bo Luc Lac, the Miso Butter Mushrooms, the Green Beans, and the Squid Ink Fried Rice. The food was amazing but with most new restaurants the flow of when dishes arrived was a little of. I can easily see upgrading my review in a couple of months as the restaurant team continues to improve. This is a great place for special occasions with very good vegetarian options.

Yelp
I guess the restaurant still new but the service it's very very slow. I waited for an hour for the rice and it's not really a claypot rice as they only served in a claypot but not cooked in a claypot as the server told us. Things are salty . I didn't really take any pics of the food

Yelp
Newly added to the Stonestown mall right across Supreme Dumpling. The decor throughout was extremely well done and it was inviting. Service was excellent. Servers were friendly and came refill our water multiple times. They were also attentive. We ordered five things but only 3 are pictured. 1. Garlic bread (not pictured) - very small portion and it didnt really have wow factor or tasted particularly great. It was okay. 2. Lemon pepper ribeye (not pictured) - tender zesty beef. Simple dish but not particularly extraordinary. 3. Lunch special porridge with ribeye- the lunch special is $24 comes with HK fishballs and a drink. The porridge was extremely watery. I felt like I was drinking soup with beef. It has a consistent taste of sesame oil. Overall, the taste was okay but the watery consistency is subpar. The side of HK fishballs comes with only 3. It tasted more like soy sauce combined chilly sauce than HK style fishballs. 4. Garlic noodle - tasted more like soy sauce noodle with hints of garlic. There was not enough of the buttery garlic that is usually in garlic noodle. It was also a tad salty. 5. Lap Mei Rice - this is like ordering rice and lep mei instead infusing lap mei into the rice. The bottom of rice is also not charred. It was okay. Overall, the food is edible but it does not live up to the name of the dish. For the price, the portion is small and the food experience was subpar. Service was great. I would try it but i would not come back.

Yelp
We went last night to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. We heard a lot of good things about this newly opened restaurant and decided to try it. All the dishes taste good. My favorite dish was the Branzino. The atmosphere was amazing too! I definitely will go back.

Yelp
Every meal i've had at Le Soleil Clement has been 10/10, and their new location continues this streak. The menu offers many of their classics (flambee quail, chicken lollipops, roasted crab, and more) but gets creative with some new items. The pho risotto is something i'm saving to try my next visit but looked so good at the table next to us. We ordered the miso butter mushrooms, and it was hands down the best mushroom dish i've tried in the city. The branzino and clams were cooked perfectly and came with well-paired, refreshing sauces and herbs. We also got the squid ink fried rice, one of their classics, but dug in so quickly, I didn't get a photo. A shame, because it's a beautiful dish. I don't go to Le Soleil without ordering the chicken lollipops. They come with an aioli type sauce and are reliably incredible. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I am a huge fan of their restaurant on clement so I was so excited to see them opening up a location in stonestown with some new items! I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant! The atmosphere is BEAUTIFUL, beautifully designed restaurant and it's great to see a more upscale restaurant in the mall as an option. I've eaten here twice so I was able to order quite a variety of dishes - I was amazed with the restaurant!! 1) pho risotto- huge piece of beef that's tender, such a unique dish 2) whole branzino - perfectly fried with amazing flavor to it 3) miso mushrooms - probably my favorite dish I was surprised at how flavorful it was! 4) beef tartare - amazing flavor also such a unique twist on traditional Vietnamese beef carpaccio 5) aguachile - refreshing flavorful appetizer, shrimps are probably the best tasting shrimps I've ever had 6) tomyum mussels - another unique dish that was executed beautifully 7) pork cheek rice bowl - tender pork with a perfectly cooked runny egg, I was surprised with how much I loved this dish! 8) fried ice cream - so happy I had room for this bc it was amazing!!! I think the prices are fair and average for SF and for a higher scale restaurant in a mall. Service was great, the kept clearing out dishes and check in on us. The manager even checked in on us to see if everything was ok. Overall excited to see this restaurant grow and evolve!

Jordan W.

Yelp
I brought my parents and I feel like this is the first time they've been proud of me. Mama I made it. That's the vibe that le soleil gives. Despite being in a mall, they serve nothing but class. Lotus root salad. Fire. Curry crab. Insanely delectable. Squid ink fried rice. When I die, bury me in this please. And the drinks?? To die for.

Katie G.

Yelp
Food: so delicious! There's a balance of more typical Vietnamese fare (like garlic noodles and imperial rolls) and fusion dishes like (pho risotto, miso butter mushrooms, tartare, quail flambé, chicken lollipops). I have yet to try this type of fusion cuisine elsewhere. My husband has been raving about the pho risotto. I loved everything. Ambiance: lovely modern design. There's also restrooms for customers in the restaurant which is super clutch at this mall. Service: service is good! Staff was really nice and waited for our friend to come back from the restroom to do the flambé on the quail. Food also came out fast! Location: note this restaurant is located on the second floor between the conveyor belt sushi restaurant and the dumpling restaurant. Tip: you can call and make a reservation, as the restaurant gets busy during meal times.

Yelp
It's my first time at this second location, the atmosphere is cozy and elegant, and the staff/ service was great. The menu seamlessly blends the elegance of French cuisine with the bold, vibrant flavors of Vietnam, and I enjoyed every bite. The portions are generous with high quality ingredients. The thoughtfully designed menu allows me explore multiple dishes throughout the course as well. Highly recommended!
