Le Soleil Stonestown

After the rain finally cleared, it turned into a beautiful day to visit my beloved San Francisco. No trip to the City is complete without dinner at Le Soleil in Stonestown. Having visited this new location several times, I’m always impressed by the upbeat, modern vibe and the thoughtfully updated menu. We may have over-ordered, but every dish was a hit—from the flambéed quails and lotus root salad to the lollipop chicken and miso butter mushrooms. However, the stars of the show were the crabs. The Dungeness Curry Crab is a personal favorite; that sauce is incredible, especially when soaked up with toasted baguette. We also tried the garlic roasted Dungeness crab, where the combination of 'brown butter' and egg created a decadent, silky noodle dish. My absolute standout, though, remains the Squid Ink Fried Rice. Between the crunch of the crispy rice, the tender squid, and the umami pop of the fish roe, I simply couldn’t stop eating it. With energetic, courteous service to match the food, it was the perfect end to a wonderful day in SF.

We had a delicious lunch at Le Soleil. The food was fresh and tasty and the service was friendly and attentive. The vegetarian spring rolls were light and fresh, while the imperial rolls were nicely fried and came with fresh vegetables and noodles. We also enjoyed the green beans, garlic noodles, and five-spice roasted chicken—all flavorful and well-seasoned. Our favorite, the braised short ribs were especially tender, served in a rich, savory curry with toasted bread. For dessert, the mango ice cream with black sticky rice was a nice way to finish the meal —not too sweet, with good balance. Overall, a great experience. We’ll definitely come back.

We had a delicious dinner at Le Soleil. The food was fresh and tasty and the service was friendly and attentive. The taretare was light and fresh, while five-spice roasted chicken.... all flavorful and well-seasoned. Our favorite, the pho risotto was especially buttery, served with a FAT bone in rib. The star of the show- the curry crab, was delicious and very tender. Overall, a great experience. We’ll definitely come back.

Unlikely location inside the Stonestown mall very close to SFSU. On a recent visit to our daughter we were looking for new places to dine and stumbled across Le Soleil. With rave reviews m, reasonable pricing, and an innovative menu, it seemed like a winner. It overdelivered on every level. We shared 5 dishes amongst the three of us and the food consistently popped. Nice presentations, great flavors, and fair portions for sharing. Our favorite was the Pho Risotto, which was a revelation of flavors. Service was on point and the location, although inside the shopping mall, is pleasant and lively. Restaurant was nearly full on a Monday night so reservations are recommended.

Definitely not your typical mall food. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. Everything we ordered was pretty good, definitely higher quality food you'd expect from mall food and more from a stand alone restaurant. Cuisine is Asian fusion they have dishes with Vietnamese and Thai influence. The ambience is nice too, modern decor with Asian flair. Also they have happy hour everyday, which is rare to have on weekends!

We were excited to support a new restaurant at Stonestown Mall, but our experience at Le Soleil was disappointing. My sister called ahead to make a reservation for a table of five, yet when we arrived, they tried to seat us at a table meant for four. The staff then told us we’d need to wait for another party to finish so we could have their table. Unfortunately, that group had already finished eating and was just chatting, and the staff refused to politely let them know that another party was waiting with a reservation. We ended up waiting more than 25 minutes before being seated. The owner tried to make up for the situation by suggesting we pre-order our food so it would arrive quickly once we sat down. I asked if we could get some bread to hold us over, but it wasn’t brought until after we were seated. They did give us a complimentary fish cake appetizer for the inconvenience, but it was only one small piece per person. When ordering, the owner recommended their prawn curry, saying it was one of their specialties. We assumed it might be offered on the house as a goodwill gesture, but we were surprised to see it added to our bill for around $30-40. The food itself was decent, but the overall experience—from the seating issue to the lack of communication—left us disappointed. We wanted to love this new spot, but it fell short of expectations.

My favorite was the miso mushroom! Big portion too. Next was the beef. So tender! The squid ink rice had crunchy torched rice and a bit of tobiko. Garlic noodle could use more garlicky flavor and not be so cut up into shorter pieces. Excellent service. Food came out fast!

Delicious garlic noodles! Would come again just for the noodles. Friend also got the squid ink fried rice! Great server with blue hair! I am vegetarian and needed a veggie option for myself so the garlic noodles were a good choice. Happy with my meal and free Thai tea!

This place is new, well lit, clean and nicely decorated. It is situated across from the food court at Stonestown in a quieter corner of the mall. A good place to get away from the crowd while shopping. The two restrooms are clean and share a separate wash basin outside, which we like. These restrooms were frequently patrolled by the manager/owner while we were there. Service was great. The server, A.J., was attentive, coming around to refill water glasses, take away empty dishes, and switch out plates as we dined. The two of us ordered Seaweed Salad, Lattice Roll, Chicken Lollipops, Tiger Prawns, and Squid Ink Fried Rice. GF also ordered Lichee cocktail, and I ordered Coedo dark beer (very tasty). Overall, the food was excellent, tasty and cooked just right, i.e. not under/over cooked (not a technical term). I would definitely go back again.

The food was so good! We got seated really quickly on a Monday during lunch hours. The decorations inside the restaurant was so festive and pretty. It was all Christmas themed. Our servers were all super nice and they came out with the food fast! Overall, we really enjoyed our experience and would definitely come again!

The best Vietnamese food I've had yet in SF area! I'm so glad I made it out, the stonestown mall in general is always lively and has lots of great shopping and restaurants in one plaza. The lunch special here is amazing - you get a large entree, side dish of curry fish balls, and a drink all for $22. I got the young coconut which was $3 extra but well worth it!! It was so fresh, delicious, and mildly sweet. The coconut meat was also tasty. My partner got the Vietnamese coffee ($2 extra) and it was also delightful! Intense, rich and sweetened with condensed milk For entrees, we got the laksa and pho bo. Both were delicious. The laksa broth is very flavorful - creamy and tangy and not as spicy as it looks. The pho tasted authentic and reminded me of the pho I had growing up in Houston. Definitely will be going back!

Restaurant was near-capacity on a Tuesday but luckily we were seated very quickly. Sat down and settled on our order and realized our server had not even come by at all yet. We were thirsty and starving and eventually I walked over to the hostess and asked about our server. She promptly brought us out some water and took our order. We ordered the squid ink fried rice, eggplant, short rib curry, mussels, and 5 spice chicken. Food came out quickly, portions were not too bad for the price. Food was delicious and flavorful, but I wished the curry (this ended up being our favorite dish) came with more bread, mussels came with no bread at all, and the eggplant was so spicy and was not clearly labeled as such on the menu (so I couldn't eat it). During the entire meal, our server never properly came by to apologize for the initial delay, ask us how everything was, or check if we needed anything else. However, they were very quick to get us the bill and boxes so that we can vacate our table. Overall, aside from the hostess who actually provided service, we were disappointed by the lack of attention for a slightly upscale establishment. Torn because the food was unique and I was looking forward to trying more dishes. 3.5 stars.

I remember going to Le Soleil on Clement St many years ago and had a wonderful experience. The ambiance was lovely, the food was delicious and the staff was great. I was excited to see that a sister restaurant had opened in Stonestown. I made a reservation for a party of 7 and brought my family for a birthday dinner celebration. Making the reservation on OpenTable was easy. We went on a Sunday. The mall closes at 7PM, but the restaurant remained open much later than the mall hours. We were promptly seated upon check-in, which was great. Off to a good start. Then it was pretty much downhill from there. Our waitress was very eager to take our order. A little too eager if you ask me. We felt rushed. Our group decided to try the following items: - Bo Tai Chanh Tartare (waitress missed this and didn't put the order in the system) - Crispy Lattice Rolls (One of the better dishes. Lattice rolls were very crispy and it was great texture when wrapped inside the lettuce with carrots and vermicelli) - Chicken Lollipops (Looked better than it tasted. When biting into these, it was greasy and we could taste a lot of oil) - Roasted Five-spice chicken (Good dish, as expected) - Braised short rib (Tasty dish. Delightful curry flavor and the garlic bread was yummy. Just wish there was more bread to soak up and eat with the curry) - Garlic Roasted Dungeness crab (Crab was great. Full of flavor. The noodles on the other hand were a disappointment. Way too salty and the noodles were cut into tiny pieces. We've had MUCH better garlic noodles elsewhere) - Miso butter mushrooms (Excellent dish. Cooked well and flavors were very well balanced) - Pho Risotto (Another one of the better dishes we ordered. The short rib was tasty and the risotto complimented it very well) In my opinion, there weren't that many stand out dishes, so that was a slight disappointment. Service was so-so. We had to flag down the staff whenever we needed something since our waitress didn't regularly check-in with us during our meal. Our food arrived in a very peculiar order. One would expect appetizers and starter dishes to be served first, but that wasn't the case. Sides arrived before mains and mains arrived before starters. It wasn't the end of the world, but we didn't feel like we were getting a good dining experience. This is probably also why I gave up on taking photos of the dishes halfway into oit meal. The kicker of the evening was.... about 20 mins into our dinner, the waitress brought over a Bo Luc Lac dish and put it at our table. It wasn't something we ordered. She insisted it was and I very clearly mentioned that it wasn't. She asked if we wanted it anyways and I said, "No, not if it's something we have to pay for, since I didn't order it." With some disappointment, she took the dish away. Then a few minutes after, she came back with the dish again and said that it was a complimentary dish. Someone on their kitchen staff named Jose is giving it to our group. I asked the waitress 3 times if she was sure it was for our table because I don't know anyone named Jose who works at the restaurant. She said "Yes, I'm sure". So with that understanding, we agreed to accept the dish and thanked them for it. After a few minutes passed, another waitress came to our table. She apologized for the mix up, but it turned out the comp dish wasn't for our group. So she leaned over and grabbed the dish off our table. Fortunately, we hadn't eaten any of food from the comp dish. But this made me wonder.... is this proper restaurant etiquette to put a dish down at a table and then come back to take it and serve it to another table? If I was intended recipient of the dish and found out that it had been placed in front of another group for a period of time and then removed to be given to me, I don't think I'd appreciate it. Comp or no comp. Overall, I can't say that I was impressed by the food or service. I don't think my family and I will be coming back to this location.

I got their lunch special and chose the seafood laksa and young coconut (+$3). The fish balls was delicious and a great way to start my meal. The flavor of the laksa was good and there was good amounts of calamari plus 2 shrimp. Lastly, the young coconut was super refreshing. Service was great and the waiters/waitresses were attentive. I would definitely come back to try their other items!

Absolutely LOVED this place when I came to dine in with my dad! FOOD: Chicken Lollipop - If you guys have ever tried the lollipop chicken from Little Hunan or Sky Dragon this is similar but different taste. I still enjoyed their version but prefer the one from Little Hunan more. Bu Luc Lac - SOOO flavorful. I literally still crave this dish every day. The meat was nice, tender and juicy too! Would definitely get this dish over and over and over again. Tom Yum Mussels - also SOOO flavorful. Definitely a nice twist to a classic seafood! I would've never thought of tom yum flavored mussels but boy this was definitely so delicious and the portion was certainly generous for the price you pay!! DRINKS: The drinks were also super yummy and sorta dangerous because you can't taste the alcohol too much. SERVICE: Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu! It helped my dad and I pick the dishes that we ordered. We pretty much chose all the dishes that they recommended and it did not disappoint at all! The other staff around also checked in on us frequently to see if we needed anything throughout our time. AMBIANCE: Honestly Stonestown is really stepping it up with their game. I liked that they had seating available also in the mall area. They also have a bathroom inside their little restaurant area which was helpful! Overall, I can't wait to come back here and try more of their dishes! Highly recommend this place if you're shopping around Stonestown :)

Had higher hopes as I've always walked past the Richmond district wanting to try but was left disappointed here. We ordered: Squid ink fried rice: really didn't taste much flavor 3/10 lollipop wings: crunch and seasoning was there 7.5/10 Garlic roasted crab: when can you go wrong with crab?? Except Thanh long sorry lol 7.5/10 Bo loc lac : I've made bo loc luc and friends moms have made it, and it was really off for me, felt Ike it needed a better char. Maybe that's just how their take on it. 6/10 Drunken clams were delicious: 8/10 All on in all, nothing really stood out to me but also taking into the price factor, was it worth it? No. $$-- PS. Normally the tip is calculated with subtotals, not a lot of extra money but im pretty sure you're not suppose to stack up the sf mandate tax and sales tax to include to your total. Still my fault for not looking at the subtal for the tip but havent seen my friends in a while so just wanted to enjoy but also let the community know. The recommmended tip should be the total amoount. --$$

Solid Vietnamese restaurant, located at the Stonestown food court. Tried a few of their popular items for the first time last week, was pretty satisfied by the quality and taste. Favorite item was the beef pho (I didn't realize there was a pho option at stonestown until I tried it here). Will come back to try more items in the future.

I've been going to Le Soleil since the Clement Street days--over 30 years now--and the Stonestown location still feels like the same dependable spot. My wife and I stopped in for a quick weekday dinner. The squid ink fried rice had great depth, with roe, shrimp, squid, and a solid hit of wok hey. The hai san spinach came out looking sharp, packed with greens, roe, more seafood, and a clear, brothy gravy that made it a light, comforting dish. It paired naturally with the fried rice since they shared similar elements. Service was friendly and actually helpful with suggestions. After all these years, Le Soleil still knows what it's doing.

First time visit and in awe of the space and the diversity of dishes. Had an opportunity to get the five-spice wings (4/5), the hai san spinach w/ seafood (5/5), the risotto (4/5), and the bo luc lac (5/5). You get really powerful, authentic flavors that I can still imagine. The only downside are the slightly high prices and some portion size issues (wishing the beef rib for our risotto had far more meat than cartilage/bone). Preferring to give more of a 4.5 star due to the high prices, but the flavors, service, and ambience are absolutely top notch and a wonderful addition to the Stonestown Food Haven. Id come again, but only on a special occasion.

Quite busy on Sunday but we were able to grab a table. Lunch specials include fishballs and a drink. Kiddo ordered the Pho Bo and he said he liked the broth. I ordered the Chao Bo that also came with the fried donut. The Chao Bo was a little bland but I liked the donut. The fishballs had a kick. Hubs ordered the risotto which was flavorful. The lollipop chicken were ok - seem like it was more batter than meat. Service was good in that they checked on us often.

Le Soleil has some real bangers that keeps me coming back - the lotus root salad, tiger prawns, miso butter mushrooms, and pork jowl rice clay pot are the top ones that make the meal. The food is fantastic and the service is quick. They take reservations but they haven't had much of a wait the past few times I've been. Compared to the other food options in Stonestown, Le Soleil is probably in the top percentile of average cost per entree. The inside decor is modern, and tables are spaced aptly from each other, so other parties' conversations won't bleed into yours.

Glad for more restaurant options at Stonestown (never enough)! Came here with a friend for brunch right at 11AM and we got seated right away. The space inside is really airy but the seating is quite close to each other so don't be startled if you will accidentally eavesdrop on the next table's conversation. Food was excellent. Highlight is definitely the Lotus Root salad which I actually went back a couple days later and go it to-go. Crunchy, savory, sweet -- every bite was delicious. The braised short ribs were so good that we asked for a side of rice so we could finish up the curry when we ran out of garlic bread. Interested to try their other items either on-site or to-go.

The garlic bread is all you need to go here. If you have gout, nothing beats eating plates of garlic bread while your friends munch away on dungeness crab in front of your face. After feasting on 2 delicious looking crab dishes, your car will smell like seafood heaven. For me though, it was torture. Kudos to the servers for being accommodating when my friends betrayed me. 10/10 will come here for the garlic bread, all day, everyday. Look, this place got enough reviews for you to read. Jokes aside, it's a nicely decorated place and the server staff were very nice. I appreciate the service here and the staff always smiled when helping us. It was actually kind of funny that my friend got his water glass taken away from staff twice. Even though I couldn't eat the seafood, the other dishes like the spring rolls, fried rice, and beef curry was scrumptious.

Made a reservation for a Monday night and got seated right away. Our server was amazing! He gave us great recommendations on what to order and was super attentive - switching out our plates and refilling our water whenever it was running low. In fact, all of the staff members were super attentive. We accidentally spilled some water on the table, and as I was cleaning it up, another staff member brought me new napkins and helped me clean the mess! Food: - Chicken Lollipops: Super crispy! I loved the flavor of the batter. This is more of a personal thing, but I thought the chicken taste was a bit strong for me, though my friends thought it was fine. - Lattice Roll: Super crispy and paired well with the lettuce. They give you two large pieces of lettuce, which we had to tear ourselves. Not a big deal, but I do wish they provided smaller pieces. - Bo Luc Lac: Depending on the piece you get, some ribeye was super tender and juicy while other pieces were a bit tougher. I loved the lemon pepper that came with it. - Miso Butter Mushroom: This was a fan favorite! I really enjoyed how some pieces had a great bite to them. - Squid Ink Fried Rice: The tobiko and crispy rice really elevate the dish with a nice crunch!

I've been wanting to try Le Soleil for a while, and I'm so glad they moved into Stonestown! We came in around 5PM right before happy hour ended, so we were able to score some good deals. We ordered the lotus root salad, chicken wings (from hh menu), drunken clams, and pho risotto. The appetizers were all light and refreshing. The pho risotto was amazing!! I would highly recommend it, the meat was tender and the dish itself was a flavor bomb. Would skip on the drunken clams next time, it really surprised us that it was a cold dish. Absolutely loved our server! He was very attentive and helped guide us through the menu.

Went on a weekend at 1pm and were seated immediately. Everything we tried was amazing! The wagyu tartare was refreshing and delicious. The bo luc lac was super tender and flavorful - I really loved this dish. The braised short rib was also great and came with garlic bread. Service was friendly and attentive, though it took some time for the food to come out since the restaurant was completely full and busy.

Dined at Le Soleil's Stonestown location for dinner recently and it was a good experience. Since it was right before the holidays, parking was challenging, so I made sure to leave early enough to find parking. I made a reservation for 7pm, and arrived a few minutes early and was seated right away. The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated, it has a modern/slightly contemporary vibe. It was pretty busy for a Friday night, but not over the top crowded. I noticed that there were a good number of tables/chairs and it looked larger once you walked inside. I also liked the multiple festive, holiday touches throughout the dining area. The menu had a pretty good list of options for appetizers, shared plates, and main entrees. The pricing for some dishes seemed a bit high, I opted to share the Bo Luc Lac, Garlic Noodles, and Pho Risotto. I especially enjoyed the Bo Luc Lac, it had a good flavor, a bit of char, and the texture was great. The garlic noodles were tasty too, and paired well with the Bo Luc Lac. Now, the Pho Risotto had a nice flavor, and I liked the addition of chimichurri sauce but did not really enjoy the texture of the risotto. Also, another thing to note, the portion sizes of all 3 dishes were a bit small, but we still had some leftovers. We were celebrating my friend's belated birthday and I opted to order a shared dessert, we agreed on the matcha tiramisu. The dessert was delicious, a good matcha flavor, not overly sweet and the cake layers were light. They also offered my friend a scoop of ice cream with a little candle. She picked the coconut flavor, which was pretty good too. Customer service was excellent and attentive. Our servers checked in multiple times to refill water and ask if we needed anything. I will say the service was warm and friendly and definitely improved the overall dining experience. For the 3 dishes and 1 dessert, the total was just over $90 before tip. I'd likely return to try out other dishes, as I thought the food was enjoyable and I was happy with the experience. Worth visiting if you're shopping somewhere nearby and looking for a solid, flavorful meal.

Very good flavor in all the dishes we ordered. Portions were a bit small for the price, but the flavor made up for it. Different types of food that I have not found elsewhere. Service was outstanding. A go to place!!!

OK lunch spot at Stonestown. Came on a Saturday for lunch and surprisingly there were a handful of empty tables, so I was happy about not needing to wait. We ordered the $22 lunch set which comes with a drink and curry fish balls (random). I got the beef pho which was okay, nothing to write home about. My friend tried the laksa and surprisingly it tasted not bad. For the drink I ordered the Vietnamese coffee for an extra +$2. Taste wise it was not bad and it was cute to see them give the drip set up, but I don't know why they give you such a large glass - when I poured in the coffee after it was done dripping, it only filled half the glass. We also tried two appetizers - the tom yum mussels and chicken lollipops. Both were pretty tasty but I liked the chicken better. Overall, okay spot but a little pricey for the quality of food imo.

The food is great!!! I would come back to try the other dishes. I loved the short rib curry more than the pho risotto. The risotto was interesting and not bad, but I wouldn't get it again. I want to try other menu items like the mushroom and the garlic noodles. I went on a weekday so it was pretty empty. The flavor of the short rib curry was satisfying. There's a depth of flavor that I liked. Other notes: Happy hour on weekdays ends at 5pm. Total was $76 for 2 dishes and 1 happy hour drink. There was a restroom inside the restaurant.

My Sister celebrated her birthday today and we ordered a feast, It was so delicious and so tasty.,We ordered the Crab and their Branzino. Both were so amazing. Here are some of their special offerings. The service here is so amazing, friendly and very professional. I was seated in a different spot today and I was absolutely delighted with the different view . I highly recommend this restaurant . It is a 10 .

We decided to stop by Le Soleil for dinner and ordered a few dishes - crispy lattice rolls, drunken clams, Tom yum mussels, garlic noodles, and Bo Luc Lac. Unfortunately, shortly after the lattice rolls came out, the power went out in Stonestown mall. Therefore. this review is just for the 2 dishes we did try. After the lattice rolls, the drunken clams came out next (to my surprise). I noticed this dish was cold and the server said meant to be served cold (my bad for not reading the menu clearly ). However, since there was no electricity, the other dishes couldn't be made. The lattice rolls tastes fine (no pork inside) but they were small, around lumpia sized. This dish was $15 and there were 5 pieces, meaning each tiny roll was 3 bucks each! I found that to be quite pricey. Also, they do not have imperial rolls on their menu anymore. The drunken clams dish is cooked clams brined/marinated in a cold, sweet chili sauce. I didn't taste the beer. The overall flavor was OK, just a bit spicy. I was definitely expecting this to a hot dish so was interesting. For this portion size (13 clams), $16 was quite expensive but I guess it's mall prices afterall. Staff was friendly and checked up on everyone when the power went out. Overall, food was ok, I didn't particularly feel wow'd and it's also quite expensive. After tax and tip, I paid $40 for these 2 dishes.

A new addition to Stonetown. I've been searching for a place nearby with tasty garlic crab and this is the place :) nice atmosphere and great service Food: we got the garlic crab with noodles (crab: 9/10 one of the freshest tasting crabs around, noodles 7/10 def more on the salty side so might not be everyone's cup of tea) Chicken lollipops (9/10) a classic and was crunchy, tasty and a great starter Service: the workers here were very attentive and kind Ambience: there wasn't many people surprisingly on a Sat evening but it was thanksgiving holiday but my husband liked how bright the restaurant is and their Christmas decorations were nice

One of the best standalone restaurants I've eaten at in a mall...! Impressive quality and presentation, plus the loveliest staff. Definitely coming back when I find myself in Stonestown Galleria again. About a week ahead, I made a lunch reservation for our group of 11 following our booking with Activate Arcade ^_^ They configured the tables to seat us all together, picnic bench-style! For a late weekend afternoon, the restaurant was pretty calm and not too busy. STRAWBBY MATCHA: This is so dangerous... To me, this tasted like a sweet strawberry tea... With a creamy matcha top. I could've drank this all day... PHO GA: Comes with a small side of Roasted Five-Spice Chicken :-) This is *chef's kiss* amazing. Aromatic, light broth with sweet, tender chicken~~~ I'm a sucker for any chicken noodle soup. Generous helpings of rice noodles! Despite our large party, dishes came out within 10-15 mins! Our servers were delightful and so accommodating. Would highly recommend~~~

Came here with friends for a dinner on a random weeknight without reservations and waited close to 30-40mins for a table. TBH, was skeptical regarding whether the food would be worth it given the recent hype. Surprisingly, my friends and I were pleasantly surprise by the portions and the taste of each dish. Some highlights included the squid ink friend rice, the short rib curry, lotus salad, and the garlic green beans. I think our favorite of the night and to be the short rib curry which had such a unique and tasty profile. For a party of four, we were all satisfied. The ambiance was cute, modern decor, good service. Would recommend for a dinner if you reside in the area. Probably won't recommend for making a trip though.

Good food and really nice staff! Three of us shared 6 dishes and it was more than enough food. Some of the highlights were the rib eye with lemon, the pho risotto and the fresh young coconut! We were a little disappointed in the garlic noodles that didn't taste like garlic at all. We came on a late weeknight and the staff were really attentive and friendly.

We snagged the last table on the weekend and got our order in just before they closed. I ordered the squid ink fried rice. It was very savoury with several textures, and I liked the addition of the tobiko and crispy rice. However, there was not nearly enough egg white in the dish. I only found one piece in the entire bowl. Other than that, the food was really good. The service was pretty slow, and one of our waitresses nearly gave one of our dishes to the next table, but luckily, they told her it wasn't theirs, and then she redirected her attention to us. Also worth noting is that we were charged for two Thai teas but only ordered one and had to wait quite a while for our waitress to return so that we could request to get the extra charge removed. Additionally, we asked to split our check so that we could each pay for the item(s) we ordered. My transaction went through, but the iPad died right after my partner tapped to pay and before he had a chance to tip and sign. We had to speak with multiple staff members to alert them of the issue before the hostess came over to our table to troubleshoot the issue. The hostess informed us the charge still appeared open even though the charge was authorized and went through on our end. They told us they had to confirm it with Chowbus and spent several minutes on the phone to resolve the issue. The charge was finally confirmed, and then the host brought over the iPad to sign. To compensate for our time, they gave us a dish of their seasonal cinnamon snap ice cream on the house, which was a nice gesture. Overall, the restaurant is quite nice with a bright, lively atmosphere, and it's a positive addition to Stonestown, but some things like waiter attentiveness could use improvement for a better customer experience.

Once again, I left Le Soleil extremely happy with my experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly--something they do consistently and so well. We ordered the Wagyu tartare again because we loved it last time, and it absolutely delivered. The chips had a new look this visit, and I'm a fan--less airy and much better balanced. That said, I do wish there were more of them. There were only two chips, which felt a bit off proportion compared to the tartare. We also ordered the bread and beurre, which may look underwhelming at first glance because, well, it's just bread and butter--but trust me when I say this was the best bread and butter I've ever had in my life. The butter was unbelievably rich and indulgent, and together it was perfection. The hai san spinach was another standout surprise. I don't usually expect spinach to be remarkable, but this dish completely blew me away. The soup was incredibly rich and comforting. We also had the bo luc lac, which was another solid, well-executed dish--everything we ordered leaned rich and satisfying in the best way. For drinks, I initially wanted the Chiltini, one of their winter seasonal cocktails, which I was really excited about. Unfortunately, they were missing an ingredient, so I switched to the Frosty's Forest--and wow, I'm so glad I did. It was such a good drink, incredibly flavorful and well balanced. We ended with the fried banana for dessert, and it was the perfect way to finish the meal. Every single item we ordered was so, so good. Pair that with genuinely kind and attentive service, and it's yet another reminder of why Le Soleil continues to impress me every time.

Who would have thought such delicious food could be found in a mall? Came for lunch and had an excellent meal. Fish cakes, mussels and garlic noodles. Each dish perfectly balanced and delicious. Great service, nice setting. Enjoy!

I'm afraid this place might lose a star or two because of one dish. I really wanted to love this place, and honestly, the bo luc lac had me in the first half. That ribeye with shoyu butter? Melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The lemon pepper dip was cute, but I didn't even need it. I ordered a side of jasmine rice to pair with. It was perfect! life was good... for a minute. Then came the garlic noodles, and y'all... they completely killed the vibe, like a bad plot twist at the end of a great movie. Couldn't even eat more than two bites. The space itself is beautiful though, brand new, spacious, and one of the nicer spots in the mall. The service was good too, the server asked, "are you a beef girl or pork girl right now?," and recommended I get bu luc lac. I'll be back to give other dishes a shot, but those noodles? Never again.

Great service. Amazing food. Nice atmosphere. Everything we got was very flavorful and fresh. Ordered the lotus salad, crispy wraps, beef - juicey!

My husband and dined here after doing some Christmas shopping. It was HH so that good. We got a couple of apps and a salad. Some drinks too. Are server was great but the hostess Jessica was fabulous. So was so sweet. She and my husband had a great conversation on physics. He loved that. The food was delicious. The shrimp katsu was incredible. As well as the chicken mai sai. My husband really enjoyed his seaweed salad. I look forward to coming back and trying something different.

Came here for a birthday brunch and I was definitely impressed! The menu did not look like a standard Vietnamese restaurant but rather a fusion style restaurant, however the food was incredible flavorful and delicious. We made a reservation, and the crew was very accommodating to let us sit first or push our reservation back by 30 mins until everyone came. The restaurant itself was spacious and clean, and they accommodated our party of 8. The highlight was definitely the food. The pho risotto was incredibly flavorful and the meat on the rib was very tender. The garlic noodles was classic but still very delicious and comforting. The green beans were fried incredibly well and seasoned perfectly that the table was definitely reaching for it a lot. Although I am not usually a fan of squid, the squid ink rice was also very well done, being savory but not too strong on the squid or squid ink flavor.

I came in looking for something to eat and noticed Le Soleil hidden in the mall. I remember my friend recommending this place during our hangout and thought to give it a try. The hostess Analia was really helpful when sitting me down and recommending her favorite dishes to try. All of the food was delicious! I really like the braised beef and risotto. I love how attentive they are with the food and the service was just amazing, I'll definitely come back here with my family when they visit sf!! (The ambiance and decor was also really nice and clean).

3.5 stars. We came in for lunch. The food was good. The inside was nicely decorated for the holidays. We ordered from the lunch special menu, $22 A bowl of beef pho and 5 spice chicken pho. The rice noodles were thin. It came with a small bowl of 3 fish balls. Hubby got a small plate of bean sprouts, basil and a wedge of lemon with hot sauce and hoisin sauce on the side. My 5 spice chicken came with sweet dipping sauce. I'd have to say I've tried better pho soup elsewhere but it wasn't bad here. The meal came with soda and coconut juice was $3 extra. I wanted to try the Thai iced tea but next time. It was pretty empty around noon excepting for 3 other tables. Staff were pleasant. I'd consider a return trip to try other dishes.

This place is soo good. Came here with 5 people with no reservations, 45 min before they closed and got seated right away. We asked the server what his favorite dish is and he mentioned the Bo luc lac - shaking beef. We ordered that, lotus root salad, 2 orders of the crispy lattice rolls , curry and the risotto. Everything is soooooo good! If I had to pick one dish out of all of these the risotto blew it away. It had so much flavor and the meet was so tender and fell off the bone so easily. We wanted to order dessert but we were so stuffed. I haven't had really good new Vietnamese food in awhile so this really hit the spot for me! The interior is nice and modern as well!

Cute new place in Stonestown. Friendly, attentive staff but slow food service. Food took a while to come out. My party really enjoyed the imperial rolls - they were crunchy and had a fish saucey flavor. The laksa was a bit oily for me, but my companions enjoyed the taste. Banh mi was good but the bread was over toasted so the sandwich was a bit difficult to eat. Lotus salad was a nice palate cleanser. My favorite was the five spice chicken - it was super flavorful and juicy. The waitress informed us the marinade makes the chicken look a bit pink, but it is cooked using the sous vide method. They remade the dish for us when we initially expressed concern w the color. Lunch specials start at $22 and include a drink.

Wanted to try LeSoleil based on a recent article in the S.F. Chronicle. A beautiful restaurant and easily got a reservation for lunch on Open Table for a Saturday a few weeks in advance. There were three of us so we tried 5 dishes. The chicken lollipops were crisply and flavorful in their little fry basket with an aioli side. Seaweed salad was a surprise in its unique coloring! Very flavorful and refreshing. Imperial rolls were our favorite. The flavors in it were just a step above others imperial rolls we have had elsewhere Whole squid was nice but we would've prefer it served as rings rather than slivers. Good but probably least flavorful from all of the other dishes. Bo luc lac was definitely a hit. A regular item on Vietnamese menus and this did not disappoint. A generous portion of tasty rib eye. We had a noon reservation and the place was pretty quiet. But it was busy when we left. There are two other locations of Le Soleil in S.F. and they each have core dishes and then some unique ones for the location.

5 stars Amazing food. Amazing staff. Amazing decor. My party and I ordered a good amount of dishes from the menu and each has exceeded my expectations. My favorite appetizer dishes have to be the beef tartar and blue prawn aguachile. For entrees, I absolutely loved the squid ink fried rice and curry dungeness crab (comes with yummy garlic buttery bread!) The atmosphere was welcoming and the service was impeccable. It's rare to find a business that delivers such consistency, quality, and warmth all at once. Bring ya boo, friends, kids, spouse, coworkers, whoever!

Super stylish take on Vietnamese cuisine! The space is modern and vibrant, with a fun crowd and great music. Loved the creative twist options- pho risotto, squid ink fried rice , mussels and crispy egg rolls. Cocktails were refreshing and beautifully presented. Service was friendly and fast despite how busy it was. Thank you Bianca, Carmen and Aj. Happy hour starts at 2:30-5pm. Perfect spot for a casual date night or dinner with friends.

Service: 2/5 -Our waiter never came by to pick up empty plates; it was a different waitress who happened to be serving the next table to pick them up. -They also don't rearrange the plates on the table to place more dishes; they expect YOU to do it for them. -Kitchen or server lost one of our orders so we ended up canceling it. Food: 2.5/5 Chicken lollipops - I was expecting better presentation given the vibes of the restaurant but the pieces looked very sloppy. All pieces were mostly breading. Disappointing. Pho risotto - Unique twist. Fiancé loved the rib bone- mentioned it was very tender. However, the risotto itself was pretty salty and instead of being creamy, it was reeeeaaalllyyyy heavy. Squid ink fried rice - Micro pieces of squid in this dish and shrimp was non-existent. Tom yum mussels - Salty. One of my mussels had a barnacle on it. Gross. Bf said the winning dish was imperial rolls and it's an appetizer soo....

What a great addition to Stonestown! Fine dining at mall prices. Ambitious interesting menu, great service. Beautiful interiors, great details throughout the space. We will be back often :-)

Very nice and modern environment, bright lights in soft white tones. Service is nice, and the food is fantastic! I super recommend the Miso Butter Mushrooms and the Bò Lúc Lac! Weekday evening was super chill, mostly empty. But I have seen this place popping on the weekends, so you might want to make a reservation if you plan for the weekend.

Food was good but service needs work. Tea: cool to see the ball of tea leaves unravel in the hot water to reveal flowers inside. Tea has a lightly sweet, floral note. Imperial rolls: 9/10. Crispy with balanced flavors. Served with butter lettuce, pickled carrots/radish, vermicelli noodles, mint. Pho risotto: 8.5/10. Deep, smoky, beefy flavors from the short rib that are followed by a classic pho broth aftertaste. The only gripe I have is the inconsistency between the amount of meat in the dish. Looking at other reviewers pictures, some people have huge ribs or even two of them. Meanwhile ours was small, and there wasn't enough meat for the dish. It's really rich and heavy, which makes it better as a shared dish Curry braised short rib: 7/10. Curry flavor didn't penetrate the meat, and the meat was NOT tenderized properly. The curry had good flavor, but the meat was so tough that I didn't want to eat it. Came w a little bit of potatoes, hard carrots, and a few pieces of toast to dip. Beef pho: 7/10. Average, good. Spicy fish balls: 6/10. It's whatever. It looks really nice from the outside right? But they didn't even bother to wipe the booths clean in between parties. There's literally crumbs of leftover food to the left and right of where I'm sitting. For a restaurant that's so focused on ambience, cleanliness should be the bare minimum. We placed the empty water pitcher on the edge of the table and servers came our table multiple times without refilling our water. Even after we asked for a refill, he didn't do it. We had to ask for water again after ten minutes had passed before someone got it for us. Waiters dropped food off onto the table without asking who it belonged to. Overall the foods good, but there's def a myriad of issues that need work. If you're pricing higher than majority of your competitors, then I'm going to have higher expectations. There's potential here and hopefully, things get better with time. I'd probably give it some months at least before trying again

The five of us met here for lunch today at 11:30am. I made a reservation on OpenTable. We were seated alongside the wall near the hostess station. Menus are on paper. There's also a special lunch menu. Starters - * imperial rolls. Five little rolls. One butter leaf, small mound of rice noodles, shredded carrots. Dipping sauce. Hard to roll given one whole leaf only and two little heart leaves. * chicken lollipops. Six drummettes. Piping temperature hot. Dipping sauce. Very good. Lunch special- comes with three fish balls & choice of beverage. We all selected blooming hot tea. * friend & I each ordered the laksa soup. Two good size prawns with some strips of squid. 1/2 soft boiled egg. Vermicelli noodles in a curry broth. * hubby got the pho bo. Wagyu beef, brisket, meatballs, thin rice noodles. He enjoyed it as this is his go to at any Vietnamese restaurant. * friend got the congee with beef. He said good. Lastly- our fifth diner got the miso butter mushrooms. This vegetable dish had great umami. Three variety of mushrooms. We all agreed this dish would be perfect with rice. Service was friendly and efficient. Dirty dishes removed frequently. This being Saturday there were many diners. We stayed 2 1/2 hours catching up. The wait staff said would let us know if they needed our table or not. We left after 2pm. Pro tip - there are two all gender restrooms located inside the restaurant. No need to go into the food court to use the restroom. Located at Stonestown Galleria 2d level by Kura Revolving Sushi & across from Supreme Dumpling. Overall 3.5 stars.

Highly recommend the crispy lattice rolls. Also the Bo luc lac ( stir fried beef ) is juicy and tender.
