La Specialità - Review - Design District - Miami - The Infatuation

"This Milan spot makes its US debut in the Design District. The housemade pastas include cacio e pepe and rigatoni alla carbonara. They also have pizza and other mains, like branzino and veal milanese. We wonder if anyone told them that they’re located two blocks away fromMother Wolf, which already does all of these things." - Mariana Trabanino

Wow! The pizza here is so good. Ricardo and Carla were doing such amazing job at the pizza counter. I highly recommend it. It is the thinnest pie I have tried and perfectly well cooked too! I can tell the whole team is well prepared. Ciro was very attentive. He mentioned they will open outdoor seating in 2 weeks!. Can't wait!

Great Food spectacular service 👌🏾and the ambiance just sets the tone for an amazing dining experience. The flavor profiles were spot on and my oh my the Hamachi Crudo flavor explosion. If you want a little piece of Italy with authentic homemade pasta this is the place for you.

La Specialità offers very good Italian food made with great ingredients, and you can taste the quality in almost every dish. The loaf bread they serve is genuinely delicious, warm, flavorful, and a perfect start to the meal. Their pizza dough is also excellent: very thin, light, and crispy. One piece of advice is to enjoy the pizza quickly, because with such a thin base it can get soggy if it sits for too long. The cocktails are well done, balanced, and enjoyable, adding nicely to the overall dining experience. The atmosphere itself is not exceptional, but it’s comfortable, casual, and perfectly fine for a relaxed meal. For dessert, the tiramisu limoncello is tasty, but extremely sweet, definitely something to share if you’re not into rich desserts. The idea of their house-made limoncello is fun and authentic, but it’s also way too sweet, almost syrup-like. With a little adjustment, it could be much more enjoyable. Service is attentive, friendly, and generally on point. However, the team could benefit from some training on etiquette. For example, there’s no need to announce the bill amount out loud when someone is hosting or inviting, small details like this make a big difference in delivering a polished experience. Overall, La Specialità is a solid spot with very good food and high-quality ingredients. With a few refinements in service and a lighter hand on the sweetness, it has the potential to become an even stronger neighborhood Italian choice.

Overall a very good experience at this Italian newcomer in the Design District. We had a nice outdoor seating to enjoy the good weather, an important factor for us coming from NJ in the middle of the winter. We thought the Pesto Burrata Pizza was excellent with the most paper thin crust we have tasted in the longest time. Liked the creamy Penne all' arrabbiata very much even though it wasn't as "angry" as we know it in Rome. Alexandra was a very attentive and helful server when we asked for recommendations for a beer closer to a Pils type and a dessert - the meringa amalfi. The surprise came when we noticed that the bill contained an entry of 2 San Pellegrino water for $18. We had asked for a bottle of sparkling water and the server came with the large size Pellegrino bottle, filled our two glasses and took the bottle back, something that has never happened before in any US or foreign restaurant we have been. Later the server asked us if we wanted more water and filled our glasses again. A third time at the end of the meal we were asked again and we declined since we had not emptied our glasses. When the bill was presented and we asked about the double entry, we were told that the water is charged by the person but the refills can be unlimited. This is not a common practice in any high-end restaurant in any state. Paying $18 for 4 half full glasses of sparkling water cheapened the enire experience.

I had such a wonderful experience here. The restaurant has a warm, inviting Italian atmosphere with a beautiful setting that makes you want to linger over your meal. The pizza was delicious — perfectly crisp crust, fresh ingredients, and full of flavor. The pastas were just as impressive, rich and comforting without feeling heavy. Even the salads stood out, so fresh and thoughtfully put together. Every dish came out looking beautiful, like something off a magazine page. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the whole experience felt relaxed and special. Highly recommend for anyone who loves great Italian food and a charming dining experience. I’ll definitely be back!

Wonderful experience all around. We had the Gambi salad, the salami pizza, the Italian ham pizza with burrata, and the branzino. Everything tasted amazing- almost like being in Italy. I’m a huge fan of the original location in Milan, and this was no disappointment. The interior is different from the Milano restaurant but suits Miami and the Design District well. Personally, I found the LV art a bit much, but that’s just my taste. Service was exceptional, especially considering they’d just opened softly. I’d go back again and again. And for Miami, prices were actually reasonable ( not cheap though )

We went to Le Specialita Miami on Saturday night and had an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, Marielle, the hostess, made us feel like VIPs—warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. She set the tone for a perfect evening. Surrounded by vibrant, gallery-style artwork and the cozy glow of the dining room, the atmosphere was refined and beautiful. The bartender was friendly and welcoming, and our waiter, Jean, was exceptional—knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and guided us expertly through our choices. The food was outstanding: Wagyu Meatballs, Cacio e Pepe, and Pesto Pizza were all unforgettable. Thanks to Marielle, Jean, and the incredible team, this was one of the best dining experiences in Miami. We can’t wait to return!

Every single pasta dish we ordered here was delicious, and so were the wagyu meatballs! It was clear they used super fresh ingredients for everything. If you want a nice well-balanced cocktail, I recommend their Negroni Bianco. Le Specialitá is perfect for a date night or a night out with the girls. I cant wait to come back to try their pizzas!
