Downtown Favorite Thai Restaurant Expands with Quick-Service Location - Eater Vegas

"A year after announcing its take-out and delivery expansion was on the way, the second location for Le Thai has arrived, serving all its downtown favorites. Located four miles from the original, the new venture is a nostalgic return to co-owner and chef Dan Coughlin’s roots, taking over the location of his first restaurant, Mix Zone Cafe. Le Thai debuted on Fremont East in 2011, quickly earning a loyal following for its 'Thai street food with American influences.' Currently advertising it is only open Monday to Friday, the menu is full of Le Thai classics, including larb salad, 'three color curry,' and the addictive 'waterfall dipping sauce.'" - Bradley Martin

I walked over to Le Thai 2 after our doctors appointment in the area. It was after the lunch hour rush, so it wasn’t too busy. The ambience was very intimate. There was a wall that had lots of greenery lighting, if you wanted to take pictures. The service and waitstaff were friendly. I really enjoyed the food especially the crispy pork and the waterfall beef!! This is the first time I’ve been to this location, but I have been to the downtown location twice before. I do think the food was better downtown, but it’s much more of a hassle trying to find parking and with tourist each location does have its benefits.

I've eaten here a few with co workers since it's down the street from the State office I work in. I've never been inside until this day. After being tired and unwilling to cook I decided to stop here to bring food home for my boys and I. I ordered online before leaving work and I was notified every step of the way, up till the food was ready via email and text. It's located in a small shopping center, upon walking in it's very clean and cute. Lots of seating I was created and I informed the hostess of my name and they supplied me with my order and condiments. The chili sauce was amazing I ordered the short rib fried rice, crispy spring rolls and plum sauce (amazing), and the awesome flat noodles. Everything was fresh tasting and hot. I no complaints and will continue to eat here or their other location downtown.

We came here twice while visiting Vegas this summer. Our server was the sweetest person, and gave us amazing suggestions, and was just so welcoming. We ended up getting short rib fried rice, three color curry, and waterfall beef. I have never had a fried rice so delicious before in my life. My boyfriend liked it so much he was using the serving spoon to eat 🤣 So, unsurprisingly, we decided to come back and try the awesome flat noodle and mango sticky rice, some of her other suggestions. The service was night and day. The restaurant was empty, save for two other tables already finishing the end of their meals. We got sat, and a few minutes later another party of two came in. The server came up to them, got their drink order, made a Thai coffee, came back and took their food order, and put it in. I set a timer at this point. It took over 12 minutes for him to come over to us. The other table got their food before we got two glasses of water, and we had gotten there a few minutes before them. Really strange.. especially considering he was the server for both tables. There were maybe three other servers in the restaurant (more servers than guests in the restaurant), and they didn’t seem to be occupied with much. The awesome flat noodle was amazing, as were the Thai style wings. The tom yum was o.k. Nothing to write home about. Given the service and experience the second night, I don’t know if I would come back. Or maybe just don’t come on Monday night? He was nice, don’t get me wrong, but it was just a really weird and unwelcoming experience the second time. There are so many good food spots in Vegas, I’d probably just try eating somewhere else than risk having a repeat of the evening.

Google
Loved, loved everything about this restaurant. Never knew they had two locations. Made my husbands stay at UMC bearable. It’s what I looked forward to daily. Happy hour items and prices are a steal. Bartender service was so friendly, talkative and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back.

Google
Such a cutie little spot to have really good Thai food! It’s a perfect little date night spot and the staff is super attentive and welcoming. The food was amazing, hot and fresh. We ordered a little bit of everything, literally 🤣 and didn’t regret anything. Appetizers we ordered were: crab ragoons, pork belly bacon, and the waterfall beef. For entrees, we ordered: short rib fried rice, garlic shrimp fried rice, drunken noodle and chicken satay skewers. We’d definitely come back again!

Google
I often order lunch from here and have had really good experiences with my orders. They have a great lunch menu that is priced incredibly well. I have never dined in, I always order online usually with Door Dash and then have the food delivered but my most recent order I picked up in person. The location is quaint and has limited seating so pick up orders are probably the best route to go. The service was great, I was immediately greeted when I walked in and my order was ready and waiting for me. I ordered the Ga Pow lunch special with broccoli and sticky rice. But like always my food was incredibly tasty and really really hot. I mean you literally cannot just dig in and start eating because the Ga Pow is hot like it just came out of the pan. I love that!! The flavors are incredible and I am super satisfied each time I order from here.

Google
I had the beef rib fried rice and it’s was phenomenal!!! It was loaded with flavor and cooked well. I also had chicken wings. They were also good. There was a sauce that came with it as well. It was pretty tasty also. It was a little too spicy for me. I visited the Fremont street location recently as well. There I had the pad Thai it was very flavorful but the chicken was over cooked. We ordered spring rolls and it may have been pork belly but they were very good. My friend ordered a curry and she like that. The Charleston is my favorite location. Staff was very friendly at both.

Google
We gave this place a try and was pleasantly surprised it was the same owner as the place on Fremont Street. We tried a bunch of dishes and they were all delicious The Waterfall beef, Pad See Ewe, Awesome Noodles (was bland, but delicious once we added some sauce to it), Tom Kai Soup level 3 was perfect amount of spice … spicy and cleared my sinuses. The server was delightful. So many to-go orders so you know it’s a yummy place. Will be back

Yelp
First time trying Le Thai (this location is technically "Le Thai #2") and we ordered it through DoorDash as a group. I had to go with the famous short rib fried rice, which is apparently the most ordered item and now I see why! I chose the 4/5 spice level thinking I could handle it (I usually can), but they don't play around here. This place actually respects the heat scale. It was intense, but in the best way. Next time, I might drop it down a level to actually enjoy the flavor between the fire. The rice itself was still hot when it arrived, and every bite had short rib in it. Like, every single bite. You don't get that kind of consistency at most places. I usually go for something other than fried rice when I order Thai food, but I'm really glad I listened to the hype this time. There are a ton of great Thai spots in Vegas, but Le Thai definitely earned a spot on my repeat list. Can't wait to try more from their menu next time!

Yelp
Le Thai in Vegas might just be the best Thai food l've ever had-no joke. It was so good, l couldn't stop thinking about it and ended up making a second trip to Vegas in the same week just to eat there again. It's right on Fremont street. The Penang curry is packed with flavor, the spicy noodles are insanely good, and the Pad Thai hits all the right notes. Every dish was spot-on. The vibe is super chill too-you can sit outside, dine in, or grab your food to go. It's low-key, welcoming, and just delivers on every level. If you're in Vegas, this place is a must. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Yelp
Parking: Dedicated parking lot available. Ambiance: Woodsey, minimalistic and greenery. Short Rib Fried Rice: AMAZING, best fried rice I've ever had. The short rib was chopped well into bite-sized pieces, and the fried rice was between sweet and savory. Everything about this dish was perfection! I would go back there again just for this dish.

Yelp
My hubby found this place and we were excited to try it! The atmosphere is beautiful, drinks are amazing and the food is so good! Our server was really nice and helpful! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Ordered on a whim after driving past after a long day at work. The place looks really nice and inviting. I'll have to come back one day and dine-in. As far as the food, it was delicious and enough to share. I tried the awesome flat noodle, pad kee mow and green thai iced tea. I had been on the hunt for a green thai iced tea for a while so I was surprised when I found it here. Fragrant and creamy! The perfect drink on an exceptionally hot day. Although I was picking up for takeout, the staff was friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to come back and try a few other things on the menu.

Yelp
Our server Natalie was awesome. She was kind & attentive. The food was delicious, hot & fresh. There was not a long wait at all. It's the perfect after work atmosphere to unwind with coworkers & chit chat with friends.

Yelp
Found this Thai restaurant in Las Vegas. The food was good and so was the service. Definitely recommend them.

Yelp
Good for groups of two to four this place offers a solid selection of the expected Thai dishes as well as a pleasant experience with uptempo music. The food was solid, the waitstaff were friendly, and the service was good. The menu and overall vibe of the place fostered a nice experience and if you're in the neighborhood looking for Thai food this place ranks highly.

Yelp
Finally found a place that has delicious pad thai AND offers actual fresh variety of vegetables as an add on. The pad thai and curry were fantastic! I highly recommend this place. I ordered pick up through Yelp which was quick- 15-20 minutes. I would love to dine in as the vibes inside were fun and relaxed.

Yelp
I ordered the 3-color curry on doordash. It tasted ok but not very fresh and nothing memorable. I've gotten spoiled by other Thau restaurants in Vegas. it's nice that they pffer brown rice for no extra charge

Yelp
Have been on a hunt for delicious Thai food around the Las Vegas area, and this one has definitely made the list! It's located in a plaza next to one of my favorite bakeries, and there is plenty of parking. It looks bare outside but is beautiful when you walk in! They were revamping the left side of the dining room so only the right side was open during my visit. Still plenty of seating for the moment. The waitress mentioned they are incorporating a bar on the other side which will be really nice, and add to the vibes! The service was outstanding. It is seat yourself, and you just grab a menu from the front. Someone will come over to take your order. My waitress was very attentive and helpful and had such an infectious positive attitude. The food was delicious! I had the lunch special at around noon thirty on a Thursday. It comes with a drink, and a selection of certain options. I ordered the spicy eggplant with chicken & brown rice, and a Thai tea to drink. I kept my spice level at 0, because I'm a wimp these days. I also ordered the chicken satay which I hadn't tried before. Everything was delicious but the star of the show was their chicken in every meal! The chicken in both the chicken satay and the spicy eggplant were so juicy and well flavored! The sauce that came with the chicken satay was delicious and had sort of a curry taste to it. Paired with a side of cucumber mix! Delicious . The spicy eggplant was equally as delicious. The eggplant came in chunky pieces and had so much flavor! The Thai tea was also really good! So glad I finally tried this place. Will definitely be back for more and will pop over to my favorite bakery next door for an after lunch/dinner treat!

Yelp
Never bad, always good! Even better now, they expanded this location and it is now triple the size of how it used to be. They now have a bar! The ambiance interior is great. Service is great. Food have always been great and still great! Two things that I would always make my way to drive here for when I crave it are the pork belly bacon and the short rib fried rice. Now added to that list is the Crispy chicken skin! Yummm!

Yelp
This hidden gem is a must try for Thai food. There are multiple locations but found this location to be spacious and a fun place to dine in. The service was great and the food was amazing. We had the tri color curry dinner which can easily be shared with someone. Full of flavor and goodness. I got this with sticky rice and wasn't disappointed. The short rib garlic fried rice was amazing. Got it with hot heat and had plenty of left overs YELP hint - check in and get 10% off. Absolutely love this place.

Yelp
We were in the area at the North outlet mall and decided to do take out Thai. Ordered over the phone, they didn't require a credit card payment ahead. Loved the two dishes we had when we got home, good portions. If we're less than 15" from here in the future this will definitely be our choice for Thai. They're a little north of the Medical Center on Charleston, plenty of parking in the strip mall.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. Hands down one of my fav Thai places in Vegas. My love started with the small downtown location before renovation, then I started going to this Charleston location years ago, again prior to renovation. Both locations are amazing, clean, good atmosphere for family, a friends dinner before going out. The food is always well seasoned, fresh, and made with love not just thrown together. My go-to is the garlic rice with extra garlic and tofu fried hard. One time the tofu was softer than wanted, and I was just going to eat the rice and put the tofu on the side. The waitress saw what I was doing and she had the kitchen make me a whole new bowl without me even complaining. Now that's good customer service. Also their Thai iced tea made with coconut milk is delicious. I will drive 20 mins. and pass many Thai places on the way, but you can't go wrong with Le Thai.

Yelp
Our Family has been getting Takeout here since 2015 and have always enjoyed the takeout luckily for my Wife and myself we recently discovered they have one of the best Happy hours In Vegas. The Chicken Wings were Amazing and so was the Waterfall Beef from the happy Hour Menu. My Wife enjoyed the Smoked Old fashioned which was one Of her Favorites so far In Vegas and she tries them everywhere we go. I had 3 Chang Beers at the $5 happy hour price. Highly recommend the Happy Hour I believe the Hours are 4pm till 6pm.

Yelp
The original restaurant used to be one of my favorites. Their success is the problem. I stopped going because how unbelievably rude the Hostess was (multiple times - same girl) and they became impossible to order from or go to. I was excited when this second location opened, but it quickly became the same thing which ultimately means it's a reflection of ownership. They will never pick up. Any App you try to order delivery from, they will cancel (after waiting an hour) for no reason. One app stated it was canceled because "they were out of an item I ordered." So called and called to try to find out which item it was because I would just order something else. After lying and saying it was because it was the app I used, I asked which one they work with, then changed to "it wouldn't matter because they are out of what I ordered." I ordered multiple things so I asked again which item it was... she eventually broke and frustratingly said she didn't know and they just stopped accepting delivery orders for right now and hung up. I get you might be slammed and you have to pause orders, but there are better ways to handle that. This was a Vegas Local favorite, but almost everyone I work with in the downtown area has had the same experience and avoid this place. Maybe they get enough foot traffic / tourists they can treat people however they want. Take care of the locals and they will take care of you. Treat them like that and you can be a Thai Mall Food Court restaurant off Fremont and pack it with tourists that don't know any better. Good luck!

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing this Thai food place is. I am someone who can be a little picky when it comes to Thai food especially because sometimes it can be super spicy even when you ask for it to be mild. I got the spicy eggplant lunch special and I asked for a spice level of one and it was completely perfect. It reminds me of an authentic Thai place. I used to frequent in my hometown. Since moving here almost 11 years ago I have not found anything that closely resembled this spicy eggplant dish. It had amazing flavor and it was so fresh and steaming hot. Our table shared the crab wontons, and those did not disappoint either. They were super crispy. The filling was ooey gooey.... amazing! There is limited seating inside, but the chairs are comfortable. Just make sure to plan ahead if you have a large group. The employees were all really nice and made sure to answer any questions that we had.
google avatar

Cindy Y.

Yelp
Food and service were great! The chicken wings were a favorite. Mango sticky rice was perfectly sweet. Yellow curry & pad Thai did not disappoint. Would def come back to try other dishes.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a go to lunch spot for me. The food is really good. I usually come for the lunch specials and they're so good. I sometimes add on the Thai Iced Tea too when I come visit. The ambiance is nice and energetic. Great to bring anyone from coworkers, friends, and family. The service is amazing. They bring the food boxes and to-go drink cups when you don't finish all your food and drinks to enjoy later.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing service and food was superb! The place was really clean and very welcoming. Their wings were bomb!
google avatar

Erika A.

Yelp
We had a great experience. I ordered the larb salad and a green Thai tea - both were delicious. My husband had the short rib fried rice and really enjoyed it. He would probably get a level 5 next time for extra kick. Our server, Natalie, was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was good. We'll definitely be coming back for the mango sticky rice (they were out). Highly recommend!
google avatar

Andrea L.

Yelp
A lot of people recommended Le Thai as an affordable place to eat off the Strip, but it wasn't what we expected. We ordered the Pad Thai, curry, and chicken fried rice. The food looked good, but it lacked flavor. Nothing really stood out. For the price, it was fair, but there's definitely a lot of room for improvement. We were hoping for more taste and better seasoning. Not a bad place, but not something we'd rush back to.
google avatar

O.S. M.

Yelp
I gave them another try, my mistake. I ordered my favorite Thai dish, grapow pork. The grapow was served in a soup container. It way too saucy and overly seasoned. The texture of the grapow was gritty from the graduated sugar. The decor was nice and a good Thai ambiance. There's a big map of the kingdom on the wall. I wanted to like this place. But there's too many mom and pops Thai restaurants around that serves authentic home style cooking that's eclipsed Le Thai II. Take it from a Thai, mai dee.
google avatar

J B.

Yelp
Short ribs fried rice.... What! Amazing. I also have the garlicky wings. They were perfect with a light crisp. Made my fat soul smile from within. Saved to favorite bites list. They also saw my umc visitors tag and gave me plate and stuff to take back to enjoy the meal with my loved one. I think I'm in love
google avatar

Yelp
Getting more expensive but food is awesome. Both locations busy for good reason. Soup, appetizers delicious. Ribeye fried rice, tom kha gai, curries can't be beat.
google avatar

Rolando U.

Yelp
Very cute, clean restaurant. They did a good job at the seating area. I love how you were able to grab a menu and just sit anywhere. Me and boyfriend sat at the counter. We got cream cheese rangoons which were super cute and tasty, as well as the lunch special combo that was from 12-3. It came with rice, an entree (we got the green curry), and a drink that was only $14 (+2 cuz of the Thai tea). Not only was it a great price, the service was fantastic!! Forgot to grab her name, but she had a tattoo on her arm. Such a sweet and attentive server. 4/5 stars because the curry was extremely hot the the tongue and I've had better curry in Vegas. It was a bit on the watery side, and the rice was a bit dry. But rather have that than very cold and mushy rice I guess. Would def be returning!
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
I ordered Oxtail Noodle Soup using. GrubHub. The oxtail (2), meatballs (2.5) and the dashi were packed separately from the noodles and garnish. Excellent! I blended and reheated my meal. The oxtail meat fell of the bone. This a just delicious AF! That's it! I want more!
google avatar

Yelp
Much bigger inside now with great amount of seating and the new area's decor is very nice. The short rib fried rice is always a hit.

Esther C.

Yelp
The parking lot was a little busy on a Friday morning because there is a popular breakfast restaurant in the same plaza but no issues with finding a spot. The restaurant is small and we needed to wait about 10 minutes for a table because the lunch rush was finishing up. We noticed a lot of people got their food to go but we were in no rush and didn't mind the wait. Their lunch specials looked good but we were hungry so opted for the dinner/full size. The short rib fried rice was SO GOOD. Will definitely be returning for it! The 3 color curry - the description says blended and for some reason I thought there would be slight separation between the 3. It was good but next time, I'll order them one by one so I can taste the different flavors :) The server was super sweet and regularly checked up on us even though it was pretty busy. Can't wait to return to try more things off the menu!

Nicole W.

Yelp
The 3 colors curry is delicious! I enjoyed the lunch special and it's not very small portion like other restaurants. I ordered at least once a week!
google avatar

Marie B.

Yelp
We were starving after a long vegas day, and were pleasantly surprised that Le Thai was close and open for a late lunch. The restaurant is nondescript on the outside, but inside is welcoming and bright. Everyone that works here is super friendly and gave excellent service. We got the lunch specials, which at $12-13 with a drink was a bargain. We got the 3 color pork curry and basil beef stir fry. Omg, the food was incredible! They knocked it out of the park with food quality and taste! If I lived in Vegas Le Thai would be a weekly stop. Sigh, I wish we lived here so I could make this dream a reality.
google avatar

Synamon W.

Yelp
I actually have never sat down and dined here before. It's all business. Give me that crack-fried rice. I need to be home. Not in the public gobbling and moaning over my food. Short rib or the duck. Both super savory, indulgent, just perfection every time. If you are extra like me, get a side of the waterfall sauce to drizzle over it. But only of you're extra. It's amazing as is.
google avatar

Bridgette S.

Yelp
We always used to just get take out here because there only used to be like 2 tables in this place. Well, they expanded and added a bar and it's such a vibe now! Food has always been our favorite - we always get the crab rangoon, waterfall beef, short rib fried rice, and a noodle dish. Now we can go and enjoy a drink with our meal and chill out.
google avatar

Mikki W.

Yelp
Ordered take out here many times before the expansion and decided to go in for lunch today. Food was decent but the service from the manager needs improvement. I think she's the manager, middle age Asian women bad attitude with the electronic check out device. We ordered over $50+ dollars of food gave her $100bill and off the bat she ask for something smaller with an attitude. Mind you this is during lunch hour if you don't have change running a restaurant not sure if you should be in business. I run a small Ma and Pa business too and we always make sure cash register have a hundred dollar in change before opening. I get that most people pay with card but hey (I lost my wallet). It's not like we order under $20 of food and trying to make you break a hundy! Not trying to be difficult but you come back not giving the full exact change amount? I'm not going to even make a fuss about that with you like you did with me! That one impression you give customer will make them not want to come back. You lost my business. I'm not sure what's with the attitude but you get what you give! Lady you need to starte treating your customer better!

Joey V.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday, and the food and service were excellent. The ambiance is casual as well. There was no wait time when I arrived around 5 pm. I ordered the short rib fried rice; pad see ewe, and the three-color curry. All of which were good. I would definitely. Get the short rib fried rice and pad. See you again. The total came up to be around 60, including a soda. Parking can be inside, but if you will be there for around 2 hours or less, you can park near the dog park with the giant fire hydrant. Overall, I would def. Come back .

Yelp
Tom KHA!!!! Aaaaahhhhhhh it's so delicious. I'm a big Thai person myself and this place has not disappointed since day one. It's a great investment finding a solid Thai place for me and this spot has the essential ingredients to make great meals and ambience . thank you to all the cooks for making every dish so! delicious.

Yelp
Okay, first time here!!! Was SO disappointed not a lot Of seating, ( 3 tables to be exact in the entire place plus 3 bar seats) however we were able to sit right away, and were told that possibly they are expanding (the spot next door is vacant) so that is good news!! BECAUSE IT WAS THE BEST THAI FOOD EVER!!!! And the service was great too!! OMG we ordered beef garlic fried rice and Panang ground chicken curry!! Highly recommend it and YES, we will be back ;)

Yelp
I've been coming to this location for a couple years. I like the fact that they expanded their restaurant. Tonight, I had the Larb Salad - chicken, and Tom Kha soup - chicken, both level 2 spice. Both dishes were spot on, the soup was hot with a great mix of spices, veggies, and chicken. The Sunday Night Football game was playing on the TV at the bar and light music was playing in the dinning room. The server provided excellent service.

Yelp
A great spot to drop in for lunch. They have some lunch specials, which can save you a few bucks. The staff was friendly and got us seated in a reasonable time. I would likely dine here again.

Yelp
Nice little hole in the wall Thai place in downtown Las Vegas near the police station/hospitals. Ordered the Pad Thai with Chicken level 4, and a Thai Iced Coffee! Both were very good and the portion was a great size for the price.

Yelp
If your looking great thai spot then Le Thai is it. Le Thai has two locations. This one is a lot smaller and has limited seating, but the food is amazingly delicious. Le Thai is a chill and mellow place to grab a great bite and the servers are really helpful with the menu. Some of my favorite appetizers is the waterfall beef and the pork belly. The waterfall beef come with a side of sticky rice and the waterfall sauce. Beef always super tender and well seasoned. The pork belly is also very delicious, it's a must get if coming. Another must get the fried rice short rib, and the awesome noodles, super good.

Yelp
This place is okay at best I feel the thai food doesn't have as much flavor as it can potentially have. The size of pad thai is a underwhelming for the price. I like the spiciness but other than the spice mess I just taste warm noodle nothing else.

Yelp
We ordered 3 curry, pad kee mao and awesome noodles. Food was ready promptly. We loved the 3 curry 5/5, the other two dishes were tasty as well. There was more tofu and veggies than noodles, so it works out well for people watching their carbs. Place has very limited seating

Yelp
Delicious little Thai place nestled in a strip mall. Fun little sitting area/dining room should you choose to stay and eat. This place also offers take-out, so feel free to order some delicious entrees and take them home. Seating is super limited, so smaller groups are encouraged (more than 6 people is a tight fit), and there is no outdoor seating. The service was excellent! Even though I accidentally placed my to-go order for 1145, they were kind enough to make my order earlier so I could make it to my next appointment on time. Ambiance is super casual, and no reservations are required. The food (Pa Gow) was spiced perfectly, delicious, and absolutely perfect with my sticky rice!!! I'm absolutely addicted to good Thai food, and this place hits the spot. * side note, I ordered Thai beef salad too, but haven't chowed down on it yet. So, I'll update this review once I eat thee salad. * Swing by and snag some delicious Thai. Open 11 am MOST days
