This is a special place. I don't say that often but my son and I came here for lunch. Since I was camping, I needed a dog friendly location (2 Boston Terriers in tow on a hot summer day). Let me state this clearly: Leadbelly isn't just dog friendly, they make your dogs welcome guests. They have self-created dog treats made on site... provided as we were ordering. While my dogs aren't food aggressive, both growled at each other as they protected each crumb 🤣 They even had a dog menu!!! The dog meals looked so good, I felt like giving them a try 🤣 The human food was excellent as well. Delicious variations of traditional favorites with great portion sizes (perhaps too generous). The service was phenomenal. My drink was never empty and everyone was unbelievably friendly. If you aee in Lincoln, do not miss Lead Belly!

Great Spot for a Casual Night Out! We were seated right away on a Friday night, which was a pleasant surprise. The patio seating was a great vibe and perfect for a relaxed evening. They had a decent beer selection with something for everyone. The food was unique and flavorful—definitely not your average menu. We especially loved the variety of dipping sauces you can order for the fries—such a fun touch! Would definitely come back.

Google
We had a wonderful early dinner at Leadbelly in downtown Lincoln. The atmosphere was calming, and was welcoming to my family with young kids for an early dinner. If it hadn’t been so warm we would’ve enjoyed the wonderful patio. Deduct a star as the pricing felt a little high for the quality of our food; but I also understand that’s a caveat of being downtown.

Google
Went with some friends and ordered a few different things. Everything was well made and in pretty good timing, the waitress was kind and on top of everything, and the outdoor patio was great we just picked a busy time were there was a lot of traffic going by. All together it was a great experience and the prices of meals were good.

I ordered one All-American burger at LeadBelly restaurant for carry out. The Burger was so delicious and French Flies as well. When I picked up the burger at the restaurant, I could hear the customers talking, laughing, and exciting for drink. If I were able to drink, I would go sit down at the restaurant and enjoy the atmosphere. But since no drink at all, I decided to carry out the order. LeadBelly must be a great restaurant for eating and drinking.

Google
This was a recommended spot and the burgers met expectations and I loved it! Our server was incredible. The atmosphere is very pub like and overall presentation could be better. I recommend the loaded chilli fries!!

Yelp
In Lincoln for a work trip. This place was recommended to us by our Hotel front desk so we checked it out for dinner yesterday. Me and my coworker agreed that the food was so good that we came back again today for lunch. The food is INCREDIBLE. The staff are also extremely friendly and made sure we were taken care of us both times we came. Would give Ledbelly's 6 stars if I could. Will be back.

Yelp
Great spot in the Haymarket to grab some filling food! They've got a spot patio and a pretty decent inside space but be prepared to wait if there's an event going on downtown. The servers are great and the atmosphere is fun! They've got lots of great and diverse vegetarian options! There beer menu is normally pretty great to stocked up with local picks. We used to come here all the time in college and to the Omaha location (RIP) more recently. I was hardcore craving a fully leaded jacket which is no longer on the main menu but the waitress was able to hook me up! It used to come with chips but looks like now it's fries. A fully leaded jacket is basically a burger patty between cinnamon rolls, covered in a bean chili, drizzled with queso, and topped with an egg. It's definitely not a light option but it's my absolute favorite.

Yelp
I was looking for a quick bite that was gluten free and LeadBelly had a gluten free bun option. The bun was toasty and didn't fall apart. The hamburger beef was delicious as well as the bacon, the jam and peanut butter gave it an interesting taste but it was not overbearing. The staff were nice and attentive. Interesting on the inside but nice patio on the outside , if you sit in a booth on the inside your view is people having dinner on the patio. Very good

Yelp
I've always loved LeadBelly! Located in the Haymarket. Food and vibes are always great! My latest menu favorite is the Mixed Green Salad with steak.

Yelp
Great dinner at LeadBelly's as usual! Starting off with a Latte-tini - I'm a sucker for a drink with the Mill coffee in it. I don't always go for drinks with caffeine in them because I don't want to stay awake but I didn't have any issues with this from the drink (plus it was perfectly balanced!) The food was all great, I think they recently updated the menu but had many familiar items. I tried one of their specials (the hot honey sandwich) and the Wake Up Call burger - I definitely prefer splitting meals to mix it up through the meal and both were super tasty. Extra points for the poutine appetizer. We went at like 7:30 on a Friday night and somehow got a table in the back for 6 right away which was awesome. They had the restaurant all decorated for Valentine's Day which was cute and the back room was a little quieter being away from the main space and is super quaint.

Yelp
Had higher hopes! Food was just okay. Smaller inside than I thought. Beer was good. Not sure if I'd go back.

Yelp
Lead Belly has such good food! I was so happy to be able to stop here since the one closer to us closed awhile back! Service was amazing like always , food was great as always, and the spot is awesome in downtown area. Forgot to take all the pics of food but definitely stop in!

Yelp
After walking around the Haymarket, checking out Leadbelly's was a great idea. They definitely have a unique list of sandwiches. You can pick your meat (burger, chicken, portobello, etc.). One thing I get nervous about with burgers is how they huge they can be and not being able to finish them. The burger that I got was the perfect size and I finished it all. I got the Go Pig Red. They also have a very classy looking bar. The bartenders kept waking by with holiday themed flights. The beers on tap are a variety of local and favorites. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Lincoln.

Yelp
Food was ok. The waiter was not very friendly. I don't think I'll be back to eat here again. Wanted dessert but decided against it because waiter (Trevor) was not very pleasant. Didn't want him to ruin our evening with his front face and poor attitude. It was a birthday dinner and wanted to celebrate and have a good time. We'll go elsewhere next birthday in our group. PS the bbq sauce the birthday boy asked for, for his hamburger tasted like salad dressing. Not bbq sauce at all.

Yelp
Again, another highly recommended place in Lincoln! You can smell it before you see it, and it's wonderful. It was pretty slow when we went in but I was very eager. There are SO many options here and I love the creativity with the burgers. I love that they have vegetarian options and you have choose your patty.I was torn between a lot of the choices but ultimately went with the California dreaming and added garlic aioli on the side. My boyfriend got the raspberry beret and I must admit I was skeptical. His burger was subtly sweet and savory. The peanut butter is not prominent (which I liked) and the raspberry jam is well balanced and compliments the burger well. Mine was delicious and savory, just the way I like to. The fresh jalapeños added a nice heat to the palate, but I feel like I lost the onion jam in the mix of things. Would have loved if it was more present. The garlic aioli was a good addition if you're looking for a sauce. Only qualm is that although they are creative with the toppings, I find the meat itself to be a little under seasoned for my liking which led me to think of it as bland. I love dressing up a burger, don't get my wrong, but I also love when the meat itself is accentuated. Either way though, I enjoyed the burger. All in all we paid 36$ before tip for the two burgers and an Arnold Palmer. Pretty fairly priced. Check them out!

Yelp
Speedy lunch service. Open seating area-I imagine it might get loud when more crowded but really solid lunch for the on the go!

Yelp
Food and service is always great. My favorite is the raspberry beret which was my sisters first meal after giving birth lol.. that's how much we love it

Yelp
For some reason I always forget about this place but I really shouldn't. Good tasting burgers and very unique burger combinations make for a great dining experience. This time I had their morning time burger, can't remember the exact name but it had a perfectly over easy egg on it which fit well with the candied bacon. I will be back!

Yelp
Outstanding place. Our group of 4 were seated immediately. Hailey, our waitress, was phenomenal. She was personable, fun, attentive, and prompt. She made great recommendations. We started with queso & chips. The chips were clearly homemade, and they, along with the dip, were superb. 2 of our group ordered the Full Leaded Jackets. OMG The combination of sweet (cinnamon roll) and spicy ( chili & jalapeños) was indescribable. I can eat, and I was unable to finish the entree. Taking home the remainder and looking forward to finishing it off. The others in our group built their own hamburgers and said they were delicious. Unfortunately, we are from out of town or this would be a regular dining spot for us. Kudos to Leadbelly's
google avatar

Yelp
In town for Dr appointment so looking for a late lunch. I had asked the niece and she recommended LeadBelly. Ordered the Full Leaded Jacket, sounded a little weird to say the least, some combinations you would never think to combine. It actually works, only complaint is the waffle fries were a little too crispy for me.

Yelp
The Hot Fuzz Leadbelly was the best burger I've had in a long time. The smell of the smoked cheese coming out of the kitchen took me back to summer bbq's of long ago! Mixed with the candied bacon and raspberry jalapeño jelly. OMG. Coming from Illinois - what a bargain for the price!

Yelp
Been here once. Would I go here again? Yes I would. The food is good, service amazing and atmosphere. I loved how they were able to answer questions about the food because I have never been there before

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Really great food, wonderful and extensive knowledge of gluten free menu items, and great service. The GF dessert I had was absolutely wonderful. Overall I'd say this is a great celiac safe restaurant and a fantastic variety on the menu for those who are mindful of gluten. Definitely recommend for gluten eaters and non-gluten eaters.

Yelp
Don't sleep on this one. In town for my first home game in 40 years (outcome of game does not affect this review) and my dad and I decided to roll downtown for a bite before flying back out. First, let's say, it's all about Grace. What an amazing server. Top notch customer service, perfect timing on the check ins and a world class walk through of the menu along with quality recommendations. If you could bottle Grace, you could sell that energy and retire tomorrow. Food was beyond good. My dad swears he could have eaten nothing but the Philly eggrolls and been happy all night. I had the Raspberry Beret burger and it delivered layers of flavor that were both unexpected and somehow comforting. Amazing. Bar is great as well. Dirty pickle martini was an unexpected treat and the bar staff clearly knows their stuff. Eat here. Just eat here. You won't regret it.

Yelp
Hello Beautiful People, I'm sorry, couldn't wait to eat this delicious foods from Lead Belly hence no photos. Back to Lead Belly!!! I went here on a Sunday night at 6pm for a pick up order. The place was bustling when I walked in. Fun atmosphere with great music. All the staff were friendly. DJ was the phone order person who made us feel very taken care of. Service with such a big smile and heart. I appreciate that he let us know about the doggy menu. I ordered the Curry Chicken Soup, Shrimp Salad, multiple sides; chips and salsa, steamed broc' and hummus with veggies. Last but not least, broc', brown rice and ground beef for the baby dog. Oh my Ghandi, SO GOOD!!! I would come back here again and again and again and again.

Yelp
I've been here twice. It's good I guess. They say they are known for their Mac and cheese but idk why because it's meh. It actually gave me a horrible stomach ache. Fries are incredible though. Burgers and queso are good. Service is great, had a good waitress. Always busy there. I swear their jalapeños are 3-D printed though lol. Sweet and spicy Mac and cheese almost killed me. Don't recommend that dish specifically. To me it's not quite worth the money but it is a good place to try.

Yelp
Had a wonderful time trying out LeadBelly with my other half! The host and servers were all friendly, attentive, and accommodating Outside seating is a fun option for people watching and fresh air. The food was delicious and the drinks didn't disappoint! Lots of options and ways to customize your order including vegetarian friendly ones. Everything was very filling but they also have dessert if you can manage. Bonus points in my book for having awesome plant decor, the pothos were my personal favorite
google avatar

Yelp
Good variety of options. Tons of sandwiches and hot options. I had the soups and salad it was delicious and everyone enjoyed their Mac and cheese. Definitely get a side bowl of fries they were gold Len and crispy!

Yelp
My daughter and I came here today for some lunch. Menu looked amazing unfortunately we sat there and not one person acknowledged us. Multiple waitresses passed us to serve table and didn't even one person stop and say "we will seat you shortly or have you been help". Sat there by the hostess station for 10 minutes until finally just leaving because obviously our business wasn't wanted. This is unfortunate because I have nothing but great things to say about the location that was in Omaha. And then having to explain to my daughter why. Please do better, a simple "hello" would have sufficed.

Yelp
All American burger to go! Getting a hold of Leadbelly to place an order is a bit difficult. My order was ready by the time I arrived. It was a decent burger and good fries. I wish they allowed onion rings as a side, even if there was an upcharge. Maybe I missed it, but I also with they had a dedicated parking spot for take-out.

Yelp
Good burgers. Service was good too. Typical bar ambiance. Lots of choices for food. Would go again when in Lincoln.

Yelp
Great service and nice place for drinks. The bread pudding and ice cream dessert was phenomenal

Yelp
Stopped in Lincoln during a cross-country roadtrip. Leadbelly's is tucked in a lively spot downtown. Friendly college-age waiter and delicious Cobb salad.

Yelp
Raspberry Beret. Second to none. Split it and share with a friend. Best in Lincoln

Yelp
I came here for lunch with my Uncle Brooksy - and this place did not disappoint !! Danielle was our bartender and she was super nice, professional and knew the menu like a pro. This place has a great ambiance also. We started out with the prime rib egg rolls - they were outstanding. He had the Gooey Louis and I had the pork belly covered by a bacon burger - wow !! Everything was spectacular. We ended up finishing up with the cinnamon roll bread pudding - haven't had anything like it - delicious. The chefs did a great job overall and we will be back !!

Yelp
Let's get straight to the point, I loved the atmosphere every one was so nice, Inviting, and helpful. We waited to be seated not even two minutes which was perfect because we were starving and in town for the Rod wave concert. We ordered the ribeye cheese steak and fries with some stadium nachos (I told you we were hungry :) lol) everything tasted so good and freshly made to order! I also wanted a chocolate martini and they unfortunately did not have the ingredients for it but instead our helpful waiter helped me pick out a martini equally as good! I 8/10 recommend this place. Good stuff!!!

Yelp
I have never been or heard of this place but was in the mood for a burger so stopped in. There is a parking garage conveniently located to the resturant and on this particular day (not sure if this is always) but the first hour was free and after that only 1.25 so park there and save the stress of looking for a spot on the street. We were seated right away but then moved because I wanted a booth. Our server came quickly and took our drink orders, which was only water. After bringing the waters she disappeared for a good 20 mins. We just ordered burgers and fries and I got a side of broccoli. My burger was good, juicy and with lots of yummy toppings. The fries were a mix of crinkle and waffle fries. They were average fries. And the broccoli was very plain, no seasoning or moisture to them. I think this place would have good cocktails and maybe milkshakes which are on sale on their happy hour for $5. Not sure how much they are regular price. And their happy hour is only Monday thru Wednesday 2-5. This place was just OK. Server was nice but not prompt. I would maybe stop back in if I was close to downtown lincoln and maybe if it was happy hour.

Yelp
The service was very good and the food was pretty good. The vegetarian chili was very filling. The Mac and cheese was good. Not really cheesy or salty but fairly tasty and the best Mac and cheese I've had from a restaurant which is saying something. The cinnamon roll was the perfect sweet note at the end. They were fairly fast with the orders so that's nice. I really liked the butterbeer I got and it was quite sweet. Glad that we found this gem here! Will be coming back next time I'm in Lincoln
google avatar

Yelp
Nice local place with an interesting vibe. The menu has something for everyone. The burgers were amazing and worthy. The fries are cool in that you get a mix of waffle and regular fries. The soup was quite tasty too (chicken and rice). Staff were super friendly. Nice to sit on the outside patio when good weather for people watching.
google avatar

Tutti S.

Yelp
Really fresh and tasty burger for an excellent price. The meal I ordered came with regular fries, a couple of waffle fries and steamed fresh, fresh broccoli. Portions are large. Service was great. I loved the cute part that we were seated in; it looked like the back of an air stream or other type of camper. Perfect spot for the young ins to enjoy their meal and walk around the little room whiteout disturbing other diner enjoying their meals.

James M.

Yelp
No matter what I order here it's tremendous and the beets selection is so creative and unique.

Yelp
Best Caesar salad I have ever had! Great and friendly service! Waitress was really nice and had some great recommendations for other places to explore in the Hay Market :)
google avatar

Yelp
food was top tier. relatively inexpensive, but still nice. ambiance was cute. there's a hiddenish back room with more tables. server was very friendly gave great recommendations.

Kris S.

Yelp
Service was great can't fault the treatment but I can't say the same for the poutine. Don't understand the mixing of regular fries and waffle in this dish but the "gravy" was the kill shot to the dish. No consistency and or flavor that can be described other than flavored water ‍ Sorry guys gotta do better than that

Yelp
I came here on a double date with my fiance and another couple because they had good ratings and vegetarian options (one from the couple was vegetarian). The menu here really is amazing! It was so hard to pick what to go for. The best part here is the Butterbeer! I'm not usually one who goes for the drinks at a restaurant so I only had some of it from my fiancé, but I really really wanted one for myself! It was so good! The perfect amount of sweetness and I could have probably had this whole thing in one big gulp! I ended up going for a funky variation of the salad. I asked for the cob salad but with blackened shrimp instead of steak, red onions instead of fried onions, and extra greens instead of tomato and zucchini. I also asked for dressing on the side but when the salad game the dressing was all over it. I ended up getting a new one. This actually took a fair amount of time to come and everyone had already started eating by then. The Gorgonzola and dressing went really well with everything in the salad. The major downside was the shrimp. It was extra salty! I tried to wipe out the coating with the paper towel to get rid of the salt but it was just too much. Like very very salty! The kitchen was closed at this point so I couldn't ask for another replacement. Otherwise the salad would have been so good! Very big portion size which I really liked. My fiance got the Raspberry Beret burger because I really recommended that one. It was Candied bacon, romaine, red onion, jerk-ginger peanut butter, raspberry-jalapeño jelly. He said everything went amazing together! I tried some of that raspberry jalapeno jelly when it dripped onto my hand and it was so good! He also had a side salad and steamed broccoli. Even the potion size of that side salad was quite big! We were both impressed. The friend who was vegetarian? Went for the Viva Las Vegan ( a veggie burger). I think he found it quite a dry and wanted something like a teriyaki or barbecue sauce which they didn't have either. He probably end up going for ranch or something. I don't think he was too pleased by that dry factor. The other girl in the party got the shrimp salad as it was. I think she liked it but the portion was so huge she couldn't finish it! I'm not sure if her shrimp was salty. Overall good place but I guess the experience depends on what you go for.

Yelp
We had the best experience at leadbelly last Friday night. Our server, with long dark hair on the porch was terrific and gave us time to visit and we never felt rushed. She spoke to us like an old friend and was outstanding, wish I could remember her name. My husband had a burger and it was delicious and our friend and I had salads, which were excellent. The cucumber cocktail was terrific too and the guys enjoyed the local IPA beers. Nothing better than being on the porch, overlooking the Haymarket and enjoying the best of Lincoln!
google avatar

Scot M.

Yelp
I always love going here for a burger, but definitely check the menu out as they do have other worthy options. The service is great.
google avatar

Yelp
My girlfriend and I love leadbelly's. Obsessed with the veggie chili and the house salad. The chicken poppers are impeccable. We get them every time. Sam the bartender is awesome. But if you get the chance to meet DJ! DJ is sheer entertainment and great at insuring that you and whoever you are with have an outstanding experience! DJ covers all expectations. He is a hospitality legend! Go DJ!!!

Yelp
This was our first time at LeadBelly, they were amazing. Great service, fantastic food. To top it all off we brought our pup, she got the 5 star treatment. We appreciate the LeadBelly crew, thank you!

Yelp
A great meal with big flavors from a small city. Definitely a Lincoln favorite that offers a wide array of options from tantalizing burgers to the delicious smokehouse mac. A outstanding list of drink options including a fun butter-beer cocktail that was delicious. A dim light interior and great staff has made this place a must visit in the area
google avatar

Yelp
We decided to share the stadium nachos with grilled chicken. The queso was so good! I was also impressed with the chips, the atmosphere was very much American pub, and the service was great. Glad we decided to try this place out.

Yelp
They make the best shirley temple ive ever had. the smokehouse mac n cheese is to die for!! i will go again for both of these as long as i live here!

Yelp
A Thursday afternoon for a late lunch (2pm). A few people on the patio, one at the bar, about 4 parties inside. I walked in and was greeted in a friendly manner by the hostess. When I told her I was solo, she asked if I wanted to sit at the bar. No. She then asked if I wanted to sit outside. No, it's 90 degrees out. There were 4 or 5 open booths. When I indicated that a booth would be nice, she had to go check with the manager about that. Fortunately, I was "approved." Sheesh! There are some nice descriptions on the menu. I picked the Viva Las Vegan sandwich, described as: Grilled GardenBelly, power greens, fresh zucchini, tomato, red onion, jalapeno, Dorothy Lynch, on a toasted vegan/GF bun. The sandwich came out, after, apparently having been dragged through the Sahara desert. The entire sandwich was "spare," and thoughtlessly prepared and served. My mom couldn't cook...at all, and she would have done better. The power greens weren't very powerful, and I'm still looking for a hint of sauce. The bun was a stale "Wonderbread-like" offering. On the other hand, the steamed broccoli was steamed until it cried mercy. My server was pleasant, and I was pleasant to her, but she never bothered to inquire if things were to my liking, and as long I reminded her each time, she did a wonderful job of refilling my drink. At least while dining, I got to see the bartender snacking while he prepared drinks, and the server with court-approved ankle bracelet sitting at the bar and having her lunch while she had a table. I know, I know, it's Nebraska, so stick with the meat, but that's not what I felt like having, and this place is right across from the hotel. If you're going to offer vegan selections, then do 'em right or take them off the menu. Idk...I think this place is blessed with its location, and is just mailing it in. There are lots of other restaurants on each of the other corners, and up and down the street. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. I know, I know...Covid, supply chain, and nobody wants to work, excuses are coming. No matter, I'm not buying excuses any more for poor food and mediocre service. On the other hand, I still tip well, so they'll never know, so sadly, you will get to have the same experience. Sorry.
