Great new place in the neighborhood, fast and friendly service. The English muffins are a great texture and I love the different flavorings. Can't wait to come back!

Leadbetter’s is brand new, but already feels like it belongs here. They’re keeping it simple for now—just English muffins and banana bread—and honestly, that’s all they need. The muffins are next-level: crisp on the outside, soft and chewy inside, with a deep flavor you just don’t get from the store-bought kind. And the banana bread? Super moist, not too sweet, and somehow nostalgic. Coffee and espresso aren’t here yet, but they’re on the way. I’m already picturing myself grabbing a muffin and a cappuccino before walking the dog or heading to work. Friendly staff, cool vibe, and quality that speaks for itself. A welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Get the sticky bread toasted! It is like caramelized, sliced monkey bread. It’s so good!

Great local English muffins, great prices and delicious food. Only complaint is no coffee on the menu and they don’t sell the English muffins by the dozen. Love these so much and ate here twice in a row

I’m giving it 5 stars because of the sweet service we got today from the worker behind the counter. We finished lunch at dumpling kitchen and was craving something sweet so wondered in. We left with a brownie, a chocolate chip cookie and a monkey bread. All tasty. I’m really routing for this place to be successful. But somehow I’m not tempted to buy here. I expected a 6 pack of plain English muffins I can take home (like I do with bagels every weekend) so I can make toast or sandwiches but they’re not merchandised as such.

Leadbetter’s is a GEM in the Castro and probably soon for all of San Francisco. We’ve had a few things here over the last month, and it all starts with their English muffin breakfast sandwiches! 5-STAR!! Doesn’t matter if you get the bacon or ham or sausage (only offered on certain days) – your taste buds will thank you. They bake their own English muffins, and they’re literally the best you can find in the Bay Area. They’re huge and soft and warm, and they stuff a dense breakfast sandwich, so unlike other places, you’re definitely very satisfied when you’ve finished one. And they have different kinds of English muffins! Plain, herb, olive, cinnamon raison. My wife has had their mushroom melt and she thinks it’s the best veggie sandwich she has ever had. For other baked goods, they’re all delicious. They do a sticky bread which is amazing, but also offer whoopie pie, which you rarely see, and it’s great! But my fav on the baked good side is the apple turnover. The best I’ve had anywhere. I need to stop this review as I’m salivating right now thinking about it. My only "complaint" is I wish they had a small retail section so I could purchase a pack of their fluffy English muffins for home use - is that too greedy?? I’m so thankful such an amazing bakery has opened in the heart of the Castro. I could see Leadbetter’s Bake Shop becoming an institution! On top of all this, the people who work here are warm and friendly. The owner is also the baker! You walk away with a happy tummy and rooting for them to do well because this food deserves it.

This is the BEST English muffin I’ve ever had. I am visiting from UT and am leaving Wednesday morning and so sad you guys are closed on M,T-would have gotten a handful to bring back and freeze. I got the cinnamon raisin and had it with peanut butter and jelly this morning for breakfast and it was incredible. Also had their homemade “poptart” pastry and it was delicious (wish there was a bit more filling in the berry one) but it was still delicious.

The English muffins were divine! Store bought muffins can't even compare. I got the breakfast sandwich with the roasted onion English muffin. I've never had one the size of a bagel and I love that it held up so well for a breakfast sandwich without getting soggy and falling apart. Would love to try the non-savory English muffins next as they would be great with jam. More of a grab and go spot. 2 benches inside and a bench outside the storefront. Orders don't come out as quickly like chain coffee shops but it was well worth the wait. FYI breakfast sandwich was $12.5 with the flavored English muffin

My sun dried tomato bagel with homemade sausage and egg was absolutely delicious!! I also really enjoyed the little samples of cake and other pastries they had. The wait time was a bit longer than expected so next time might run to Walgreens to run errands after ordering. Service was really friendly and I always love seeing a family owned business thriving (grew up working in a Peruvian restaurant myself so I know it can be tough but extremely rewarding to work with family).

THE BREAKFAST SANDWICH--The muffin was so soft and airy, and the egg and bacon created perfect harmony. I've never had such a dreamy breakfast sandwich like this. THE STICKY BREAD - please have it toasted and ask to put butter on it. It made my Saturday morning brighter.

we've been eagerly awaiting this spot's opening, and I was so excited when I had a moment to stop in on their first official day. They did a nice job with the space and their staff is super friendly and welcoming. They had their sticky bread on sample and it was absolutely delicious. Cannot wait to bring my kiddo here. breakfast is pretty much her favorite meal of the day. right after I ordered a breakfast sando the owner came out to ask if I had a little bit of extra time. I said yes, but they only needed like five minutes. He didn't like the quality of the eggs they had ready and wanted to make a new batch. Talk about your quality control! While I waited outside on a bench he chatted to me about their delicious sticky bread and how they make it from the leftover pieces of the English muffin dough so that there's no waste. So rad! We can expect lots of different kinds of sticky bread made from the different biscuit doughs they produce. Cannot wait for the cherry chocolate. More savory items are on the way, but it's definitely already worth a stop in to this lovely family owned and operated business. my sando was delish and the eggs were perfect btw! this is definitely going to be a favorite among our school community since it's just around the corner.

Yum! Who knew English muffins were a thing? Had the mushroom melt, very tasty. Good price point. Super cute family working the register and front of house. So glad to see Ledbetter's here. A new reason to detour on my morning walks!

Lovely and super friendly family owned space. Great English muffins which were larger than I expected. The Breakfast sandwich had light and fluffy eggs with crisp bacon.

New breakfast spot in the Castro did not miss! They have a specialty larger English muffin they create and the texture is AMAZING! Got the sun dried tomato with goat cheese, and demolished it lol definitely a must try

My husband never stops anywhere on his way to the office, so I was shocked when he felt compelled to pop in here on a random weekday. He texted me right after--"the sandwiches are insanely good." Naturally, we came back that weekend with our 1-year-old and ordered two sandwiches, a pizza sandwich for her, and some monkey bread. Everything was so delicious--we devoured it all just sitting outside their shop. Such a great new addition to the neighborhood!

There is something to be said about family owned businesses who are truly family owned and run businesses. "Leadbetter Bake Shop" is owned and run by an entire family (husband, wife, and two sons). They are all the sweetest people who want to become a part of the community. Not to mention their food is AMAZING! I mean who doesn't like fresh baked english muffins in a variety of flavors, fresh baked pastries, and freshly made sandwiches? We can't wait to go back for another delicious meal!
