The authentic taste in menu offerings makes up for the dark, one lamp lighted (literally) restaurant space that doubles as a Burmese store. Remnants of pre-COVID buffet still prevalent. Shan Noodles, though a bit dry on sauce, had an excellent spicy-savory flavor, topped with chicken and peanuts. Accompanying house made chili sauce, a must. Come for the flavor, not the service.

Great Southeast Asian flavours and tasty soups were perfect in the chilly coastal town of Pacifica. Dry Shan noodles and garlic were wonderful too.

Garlic’s Noodles To Go is a must-try for anyone who loves garlic and noodles.

Verdict: Solid Burmese food. Expect a down-to-earth dining experience. Atmosphere: It was a very interesting experience. We arrived during dinner time. For some reason, the owner did not turn on any of the ceiling lights or HVAC system. It was quite dark and quiet. Then eventually, the owner decided it was too dark, so a very strong LED lamb in the center of the restaurant. The restaurant was setup with dining furniture, but also... the owner's personal space with a TV and a couch. They also sold Burmese goods at what it looks like a buffet area that's no longer in operation. Everything was clean though.

They might close before 9? Walked in Friday night at 7:20pm and most of the lights were out (but their door was open). Asked if they were open and a older gentleman gestured for us to sit. (Update: Tried to go at 7:40pm another night and they were already shut down tighter than a drum. It's like they're allergic to money.) Food was good but service was odd. Like if you didn't grow up with a surly, emotionally distant Asian mom like I did, you may feel uncomfortable. For instance, the first thing out of her mouth was not "welcome" or simply "hi," but "no more buffet." Not sure if they meant "today" or "*ever*," but I didn't ask...? I think the woman was the chef and not only the waitress because she walked between the kitchen and the fridge (just out in the dining room) a lot as well as served us, while the man mostly just sat there. Garlic chicken, mo hinga (fish soup), and pork curry were great. The mo hinga was not fishy and was topped with delicious fried lentils that were like a crunchier version of tempura flakes. The pork curry included hunks of soft, gelatinous tendon (not fat but you might get confused) and came with rice. The rice noodles were a bit thin and on the cusp of becoming too soft. Tea leaf salad was good too but not as good as at Rangoon Ruby. You have to mix it a lot or the clumps of tea will be too salty. I feel a little snubbed that another reviewer got homemade chili sauce but we got a bottle of Huy Fong sriracha, lol. Portions and prices are reasonable. Two of us polished off 4 dishes. Shan noodles are apparently the dish to get at Burmese, according to Eater San Francisco, but I didn't notice they had it until later. The menu has no prices and the bill apparently includes tax and doesn't charge any B.S. fees. We tipped well and paid cash because I couldn't trust Maps saying they take card and communication was a bit difficult.

Yelp
This place is actually pretty good and the owner is super nice. The soup is very tasty overall.I only had the soup here.5 star because the service here is really amazing.

Yelp
Wanted to support this restaurant so I always order my garlic noodles (small trays) with them. Whenever I call on the day of, they tell me I need to order ahead otherwise it's too rushed for the chef. This time I order 3-4 days in advance for a party at work and they forgot about your order and looked confused when I came to pick up the food. Wtf. Come on. I gave you plenty of time to make this order. I shouldn't have to wait another 20 mins. I will not order from them again. I am sorry but this is how you lose your customers. Time is important.

Yelp
This review is long over due. We used to go here a lot back in the day for the buffet. I also had them close the restaurant for my daughter's birthday party for a few hours. That was pretty awesome to have the whole restaurant to host your family and friends. Food is always on point especially the chicken wings. Great thing about the buffet I remembered was that the trays of food were always hot and fresh. The lady there is really nice and welcoming. I know they have another menu with some Burmese items I still need to try.

Julie L.

Yelp
Had to call and make sure this place wasn't closed. Looks like some people on Yelp reported it being closed when it's not. Still very much open and grateful that it is. Authentic Burmese food found here and really good. Don't judge a book by its cover. The place doesn't look like a grand restaurant because it's dark in there. But I love the Burmese food here!

Yelp
Skip the buffet, order from the Burmese menu!!! There's no wait and more authentic (and tastier) than B-Superstar 1. Palata with chicken curry: crispy roti with the curry side. Highly indulgent 2. Shan noodle: rice noodles with pickled veggies & seasoned chicken. Served warm, yet refreshing (not too oily)
google avatar

Yelp
My go to Burmese place. Restaurant is ran by husband and wife. Sometimes not everything is on the menu. Due to the pandemic, it's reasonable to not have a full menu every day. You can call ahead and ask if they can make it for the said date or call lunch and have it for dinner. Pleased be patient as there are no other staff to assist them. I love the j-oh soup and dry. And they have the best samosa.
google avatar

Yelp
Great Burmese Chinese food. Not authentic but okay Myanmar noodles dishes. Would I go back again, no I wouldn't. Just like you want to try and just say ok type.

Yelp
Best Burmese noodle soup and garlic noodle. Samosa the crispy potato fillings is really good.

Jenny T.

Yelp
They are still open. Yelp need to take the closed business down, its very misleading and hurt the owner. Love their garlic chicken noodle so much, that I crave it weekly.

Poe P.

Yelp
Love it! Truly a hidden gem. My all time favorite place to get kyayoh! This is my go-to spot whenever I'm feeling homesick or in need of comfort food. Nothing but love. Closest thing to what home food feels like.
google avatar

Anthony R.

Yelp
Their Burmese food is really good. It's a small family owned business that makes superlative Kyay Oh and Garlic Noodle. It's a good idea to call ahead to order. Great local restaurant to support!

Yelp
This place has been at this shopping center for as long as I can remember. Grant it, I have never stopped by until just this past week for the first time. I have always gone to Sam's Chinese Kitchen when I am at this plaza but I felt that I needed to expand my options and check this place out. I initially noticed that they offer buffet style lunch which is GREAT! The cost for the buffet is $8.95 which is not bad at all. In looking over the options that you have for lunch you can somewhat see why the cost is what it is!!! You have your usual options that consists of the following: orange chicken, egg rolls, beef with broccoli, chow mein, etc. The portions get replenished when the get low which is nice but the freshness may be a bit questionable! My food was cool which I am happy about. I got a two item combo lunch box to go. The food seemed a bit over seasoned and a bit saltier than other Chinese food establishments that I have been to but I made it work. If you can look past some of these shortcomings here then this place may be a WINNER for you. But, if you prefer something that is a bit more tolerable I would suggest looking for Chinese restaurants in San Francisco, in my opinion. #GiveItATry

Yelp
All time favorate pleace if you are eager to try burmese food. It's the best choice for you.

Yelp
We had been coming here for years. But we haven't been in a long time. It used to be a decent buffet. But it's really gone downhill. REALLY downhill. We got there around noon. NONE of the food was warm. Even the soup was cold. There was even a baby cockroach scurrying across the bamboo steamer lid. I know roaches are everywhere. But you don't want to see them anywhere, especially at the steam table! The same family runs it still. I am not sure what happened over the years. They remembered us from before. But we will not be back. Ever. Even my son was disappointed. We spent $21 and should have just gone somewhere else for that money.

Tint Myo H.

Yelp
The lady there doesn't want to serve you well. Moreover, they didn't accept cards. The food portion size was too small.

Yelp
I love Ledu buffet, affordable and delicious, To go was wonderful, the owner very nice and friendly

Yelp
This review is strictly on their Burmese food only, not their Chinese buffet. Came here on a lazy Sunday after our Burmese friend highly recommended this place and hyped up their kyae oae, garlic noodles, and fried shrimp appetizer. Y and I were stoked! Service was great, prices are reasonable, and all of our food came out looking very appetizing...and the flavors...they were pretty dead on, especially with the little pieces of fried garlic. My favorite was their chicken garlic noodle. That is...up until the MSG kicked in. OMG, talk about MSG overload! Growing up with Asian food all my life, MSG lives in my blood, I thought I was immune to it, but even I couldn't handle it. The throat started closing up, my body was feeling tight and tingly, and the headache kicked in. I was a complete mess! Needless to say, that just ruined the entire food experience. I think I need some time to recover before walking into this place again. If/when I do come back; I will tell them...absolutely NO MSG!

Yelp
I love this burmese restaurant. The Kyay Oo here is a must get! One of my go to restaurant especially when I am sick!
google avatar

Ciandra O.

Yelp
Eat here if you want to spend the night on the toilet!! I liked the samosas but the shrimp appetizer did not have fresh ingredients, or maybe the dipping sauces are expired, but it gave my family food poisoning and diarrhea for the following night and day. Yikes

Yelp
Authentic taste - just like in Burma (Myanmar)! The reviews for this restaurant cannot justify how good their burmese food is. The owners could not care less about the yelp reviews instead putting their heart and soul in making Burmese food and affordable buffet. The name is Chinese but it is actually owned and ran by a Burmese couple. The Bay area Burmese restaurants like B-superstar, Rangoon Ruby all are targeted for non-burmese and have really high price tag for flavorless, "meh" food. They do not serve Kyah oh which is difficult to make and unless you go to Fremont, you cannot order it in SF and daly city. This place makes it as their speciality. Don't get dissuaded by poor reviews which do not represent the restaurant's strength.
google avatar

Ingyin M.

Yelp
The Burmese food is sooo good here this place is a hidden gem for sure. I get food from here like 3 times a week minimum.
google avatar

Sally L.

Yelp
Authentic foods from Burma(Myanmar). We ordered Mixed Garlic Noodle with Pork and Shan Noodle. It was the same taste as we had in Myanmar when we were living there 30 years ago. If you feel home sick, go to Ledu to treat yourself.
google avatar

Ouida L.

Yelp
I go there for Burmese food. Not impress with their buffet. They however have great Burmese food and great party tray.
google avatar

Julie K.

Yelp
All noodle dishes lacked flavor. Expected an aromatic broth from the coconut soup but nope. Nada. The broth for our other noodle soup was bland. Super clear and not oily but could've benefited from more seasoning...ok, a lot more. They also have a buffet option for Chinese food but it wasn't impressive.
google avatar

Janet T.

Yelp
One of the few Burmese places around, but I don't think you would be able to tell the difference between Chinese and Burmese. They do have common cooking tastes. About $7 for an all you can eat buffet. How to make it worth it? Go for the shrimp (as long you're not allergic) and mussels. That should make it worth it, especially if you don't eat too much. Also get all-you-can-drink from the fountain machine and small desserts like square cakes, jello, sometimes almond jello. If not, order noodles or something. It's not super salty, and won ton soup is alright (nothing that kicks my taste buds wanting more). Food is food. It keeps you filled.

Yelp
I don't usually write reviews, but I really had to for this resturant. I am usually a person where if I see a resturant lower than a 3-4 i'll give it a try because most of the time people give it a lower star for their service on a busy day which is a bit unfair. So, today I went here despite the low ratings because my boyfriend's uncle comes here to order a few Burmese dishes. We live near by so what the hey, lets give this place a try. I like to support small hole in the wall places. My god I don't know where to start. The first, as you may notice the picture, the portion size are ridiculously small. Don't let those up-close picture and small plates trick you! We ordered the first Shan noodles, when this dish came out and placed on our table I almost wanted to cancel everything we ordered. The portion was very small, literally small, with barely any chicken meat at all. I really wish I've taken a closer picture. It was by god imagine several, lets say 6 Pebbles of chicken. The taste wasn't amazing, it didn't have enough flavor that made this dish worth $9. The next that came out was the shrimp bean sprout fried cakes, sounds good, but was okay. It wasn't hot and it seemed like they made this way ahead of time. Lastly, we had the chicken curry with plata. When this dish came out I felt like I had been robbed. There was 3 pieces of chicken on the plate. 3! Pieces of chicken! 3! and the plata was not hot and was oily. The taste of the chicken tasted like salon hairspray. My boyfriend and I couldn't figure out what it was. But every time We ate it, there was this fragrance taste to it. Whatever they used it too heavy on that spice. This dish was definitely not worth $11. The place was dim, and the only customer that came in to eat was for the okay priced "buffet" $9. In some of the picture from other yelpers, you could see there's a-lot of food. Not true at all. It looks like scraps from last night's dinner. Literally. No joke. This place really need to get it together, it looks like they don't care at all. If you're a hole in the wall place thats fine, but don't charge and not give a good portion and nonetheless not even good food. I haven't felt this way toward any resturant before. When I left I felt so disappointed and felt robbed. I would not recommend this resturant to anyone and won't be coming back.

Yelp
This is the worst restaurant/ food I've ever had. The noodles smelled like I was standing next to a horse, nothing was edible, just terrible. Save your 10 bucks not worth the buffet.
google avatar

Scott I.

Yelp
My family used to come here alot. Keyword used to. Today, unfortunately, is my last visit ever. They raised the prices of the buffet to $9.95 and they started charging for drinks at $1.25. The worst part is the food from the buffet was ICE cold. No warmt whatsoever. I think im about calling the health inspector on this place. My family and i used to frequent this place and used to be so busy. And here i am today at lunch time and im the only one in here. The whole time im sitting feeling like i have a plate of leftovers from lastnight.
google avatar

Abhisek D.

Yelp
This place is so gross. Couldn't even finish the meal - lots of options in the buffet but none of them are even remotely satisfying let alone taste any good.
google avatar

Cecilia S.

Yelp
I've been dreading writing my review for this place.. unfortunately, I must shed light onto my fellow Yelpers. Let's start with the positives: The little Burmese lady is always super nice to anyone who walks in. She's hospitable and nice, especially if you speak Burmese. Parking is relatively easy since it's in a strip mall. Hmm.. that's about it for the positives. Alright, here it goes with the negatives: My family usually comes here for one thing: jay-oh noodle soup. I think they are the only restaurant in the area that makes it. Unfortunately, it isn't very tasty. The broth is extremely bland, but you definitely taste the mound of MSG they use in their food. I think my mom's is WAY better... Pass on this dish. Next, the garlic chicken noodle. Wait, what garlic? It just tasted like noodles with a ton of vegetable oil poured right on top of it. If you gather all your noodles to one side of the bowl, you'll see how much excess oil there is puddled at the bottom. Once again, it was tasteless. Another pass on this dish. My dad also wanted to get the squash tempura. AGAIN, tasteless and extremely oily. The dipping sauce was essentially watered-down sriracha with chunks of garlic and maybe a little bit of sugar?? I think their buffet has a better chance.. they have the usual beef with broccoli, orange chicken, etc. Their tables and chairs are also really old and sticky.. like they haven't cleaned it in years. I really think they need to hire an interior designer to jazz the place up a bit.. I can't stand the tacky little fake flowers in that sad little vase. Oh don't even get my started with the bathrooms. Overall, I don't like the food, and I don't even think this place is sanitary enough to eat in... Sorry Ledu Restaurant, I will not be coming back.
google avatar

Cholita L.

Yelp
I got addicted to this place when I just moved to Pacifica. I mean 3 items and rice/noodles for like $6-7! Can't beat that! And although I am part Chinese, I can't eat Chinese every day. No sireee, nope. I go here every so often - just to get that fix. I got the crispy fried chicken, broccoli and fried rice - yum. Make sure to pair with a nice hot mug of Oolong. TIP: Decor is tired. The fake flowers on the windows are dreadful.
google avatar

Matthew J.

Yelp
I stopped for a quick bite while in transit and I got to say this place is not caring at all. Went for the inexpensive buffet but all of the food was cold and I agree with another reviewer that some of it smelt like horse or a wet dog. I'm not one to make a stink so I just paid the money and left without really eating. In my opinion this is a food poisoning waiting to happen due to the low temperature food. Dine at your own risk.

Yelp
As a Burmese native, I know between good and bad Burmese food! This place is absolutely horrible. Food, service, actual place and utensils are an abomination! FOOD: I cannot begin to think why Ledu would use terrible quality food to serve their customers. Order their main noodle soup: Kyay Ooh! The meat they use are poor in quality. Tastes so bad and overcooked. Did you guys notice the quail egg that they put in there? That is from canned quail eggs. Did you eat the stomach? They overcook it so badly it tastes so nasty! I believe they use a bit too much MSG in it to try to make it taste sweet. My wife makes that dish so well, even friends complained "literally" in the restaurant of how it tastes bad! and they did so "loudly". Just imagine that. Just read other reviews on their food and you'll get an idea of what to expect if you do go there. SERVICE: We're good people and very nice. We always get terrible service at other places too. So I won't be too harsh here. Service is average at best. Yes, the waitress often forgets things when asked. At times she forgets the order (doesn't write it down) and messes it up. I often question her hygiene. Today (Friday June 28, 2013) She brings me soup and touched it with her finger. Disgusting! How am I supposed to drink that now? PLACE: Carpet is so dirty and reeks! Chairs are sticky and dirty. Tables aren't very clean either and because of that I have NEVER used their restroom before. Again, read some of the reviews from others about that and you'll see what I mean. UTENSILS: Again, today (Friday June 28, 2013) I went to eat with my wife, her sister and my cousin. The waitress brings out the utensils and Oh My Goodness!!! There was lipstick stain on the soup spoon!!! Then another spoon had and old piece of garlic on it!!! So we asked for replacement. Man, we're we surprised when the waitress came back with new spoons!! She tells us it's still wet so we took it. They were still OILY!! What the hell!!?? What happened to quality control!?!? The cups for hot tea were also dirty! It had things in it I cannot describe! All-in-all, I do not recommend this place to anyone at all. I am not sure but one of these days someone "will" get sick and Ledu will be responsible. Friday was my very last day to ever go to that place. I am Burmese and I am telling you that place do not serve quality Burmese food. Do not be fooled by it. I wish I can give it NO STARS at all but I cannot. 1 Star is too high already.
google avatar

Marty J.

Yelp
I was going to give 2 stars but this place really does suck. First time here I ordered broccoli beef. They gave me broccoli chicken. Wtf. Ok. Second time I went we had the buffet. The buffet plates weren't spotless they were a bit dirty. Come on!!! Sure the buffet only costs $8. The food though is cold and bland. Don't come here. It's in the fairmont shopping center. I'm going to try sam's kitchen next time in the same center.
google avatar

Gabby A.

Yelp
You get what you pay for. Food's not that bad. Only problem was we ordered 3 plates of sweet and sour chicken over rice. Our server brought out a plate of orange chicken and said the only difference was the color and that they tasted the same. The other 2 plates came with the orange sauce still on the plate swimming with sweet and sour sauce. But CASH ONLY

Yelp
Burmese? You call this BURMESE food? Their Jae-Oh has absolutely no meat. It's tasteless. Their See-Kyat Kauk Swe is sooo greasy and inedible. Furthermore, it's tasteless. Oil sopped egg noodles.. Seriously overpriced for the burmese food. The noodles only cost 50 cents, the oil is shitty tasting, and no garlic smell. Just make your own see-kyat-kauk-swe for a fraction of the price!
google avatar

Seamus G.

Yelp
The buffet was cold, and was not appetizing. Some of it even smelt weird. The only good thing is that the staff noticed and gave us a discount.
google avatar

Sam D.

Yelp
Only two stars and that is for variety. Forget about Quality and service. Cheap place and cheap food. Update: A friend from Berkeley forwarded me this site. Let me tell you that I won't be going back to this place after reading the health report. http://www.decadeonline.com/insp.phtml?agency=smc&record_id=PR0027469

Yelp
Easily the worst foodI have had. The buffet was disgusting - nasty, old grease, and only slightly warm. This is food poisoning just waiting to happen. Beware.
google avatar

elly l.

Yelp
I never try their buffet, because they dont look fresh but its pretty cheap, if u have a chance to go there try their burmese noddle, they have 2 type of noodle i think 1 is soup and noddle with lots of stuff in it call" Jae Oo " another one is garlic noddle, i am big fan of noddle and yeah they taste very good,,,,,, thus, i think they put lots of msg my mom got maine brain after eating them , but anyway i recomment noddle more than buffet = P
google avatar

Bill K.

Yelp
Horrible Horrible Horrible. The worst buffet I've ever been to, everything was overcooked and dried out. The fried items were too greasy even the chow mein was nasty. The wonton soup was 95% broth with almost no wontons
google avatar

Ralph L.

Yelp
The buffet is not good. Greasy, lamp-warmed Chinese food whose closest rivals can be found at a UC Berkeley residential dining facility. Cheap, yes. Filling, yes. Regrettable, yes. Again, this buffet is pretty much low-grade fried Chinese food with some California rolls. Thankfully, I have some relatives that can order food in Burmese. And these garlic chicken noodles were pretty damn decent. Reasonably priced, too!
google avatar

Don D.

Yelp
Mehhh... $7.95 for an all-you-can eat buffet. You get what you pay for. Limited vegetable choices, lots of fried foods, lots of meat. Includes soda & tea. Has soup and limited dessert and a bit of dim sum. This place is Burmese?! I just thought it was a blahh Chinese. I didn't expect much and I got exactly what I wanted.
google avatar

Raizan H.

Yelp
Bad customer service. Ordered to go and waited 45 minutes. It doesn't take long to make chicken garlic noodle. Decided to leave. Burmese chicken garlic is really greasy anyway. There are more Burmese restaurant elsewhere. Bad place
google avatar

Rigoberto C.

Yelp
It's cheap nothing to get excited about... 11 bucks you get the buffet and soda free refills. The shrimp is probably the best item and the broccoli beef. I went early so the food was fresh but yeah lacks flavor. But for 11 bucks it's good. great if your on a budget.
google avatar

Janelle H.

Yelp
Came back and avoided the buffet this time, instead I ordered off their burmese menu. Their burmese menu is so much better than their buffet shows! Ask for their J.O. noodles, its a noodle soup with meat and vegetables that is fresh and healthy jam packed with the right amount of flavors. So is their noodle salad. Its hard for me to say what they're called on the menu because I can't think of a good way to type burmese in english, the only thing i can spell out is the J.O Noodles.
google avatar

Veronica M.

Yelp
food from the buffet table was all cold it tasted like it was cooked hours before the flavor was very very bland not much selection and what was there didnt have much left if ya hungry its cheap but not too tasty and maybe make ya sick
google avatar

Jason Y.

Yelp
For under 10 bucks I can only describe this place on how it is. Cheap. You shouldn't be going here unless you know what your getting yourself into and even then the only real thing to order here that is half decent is their garlic noodles. Besides that the buffet may be reasonably priced but the place just seems out of place. I guess that Burmese cuisine rivals that of Chinese food because a lot of their items are what you would find at any typical Asian restaurant. The place has tons of constructions workers come through, no doubt because of the cheap price and large amounts of food that they can consume. The place itself is decently sized and somewhat clean but I wish that the waiters were more well mannered. Since everything is pretty much self serve, I guess I can't really say much about how the workers seem to always walk by you unless then hand you the check. The food itself can be described in one word. Greasy. The only 3 things I wouldn't mind getting here are the chicken wings, the California rolls or the wonton soup. I guess when certain foods sit out all day they decide not to replace it with fresh items. Outside of that your gonna be heading the the restroom as soon as you get home because the quality of this place just isn't that great. Save yourself some time and money and go somewhere else. Trust me and save yourself before you make the choice to come here.

Yelp
So, my tennis buddies and I go to this place after a morning of playing doubles. $6.95-drink included is a steal. Unfortunately, all the good stuff is fried. Curry Chicken=bad. Fried Pork Chops, Fried Fish, Fried Chicken, Fried Rice, Fried egg rolls, Fried Won Ton=good. Fried....well..u get the point Here's a secret....have the Cream Puffs for dessert!!! They are awesome!! I saw one of the workers stuffing a to go box with chow mein. I feel sorry for the person who ordered that item for pick up. SHADY!!
