We popped into Lee’s Grocery on a weekend night for a quick dinner and ended up staying longer than planned, it’s that good! The space is small and unassuming, but it was completely packed, buzzing with energy and filled with locals who clearly know this spot is a winner. Don’t let the surrounding neighborhood throw you off—this place is absolutely worth a visit. We grabbed seats at the bar and started with the cheese bread, which was fine (a little average), but things quickly leveled up. We tried the pizza of the week—a delicious combination of sausage, roasted red peppers, and balsamic drizzle—and it was outstanding. We also ordered the white pizza and the BBQ chicken, and every pie was spot-on. The crust is what really stood out: crispy, perfectly seasoned, and baked to perfection. They offer a great selection of beers on tap, ciders, and self-serve cans, plus a handy water station if you need a reset between slices. Bonus: they have Delirum Red! The ambiance is laid-back but full of personality—think cool, local hangout with great food and no pretension. A must-visit if you’re a pizza lover or just looking for a chill, satisfying night out in Tampa.

This place is kind of on a sketchy street BUT the area it’s in is DEFINITELY cleaning up. I was a little scared to go in and taken back by the lack of parking, but once I was in there I felt safe! Their pizza is very delicious and the dough… the dough is AMAZING!!!! I don’t know how they keep it so moist and stretchy at such low elevation here!!! Staff is nice, wings were great too! Love the vibe in there!

Cool neighborhood bar with a great vibe. Inside and outside seating with pets allowed outside. Got the pizza and I really liked the crust. Check them out for a chill time.

Great pizza, friendly staff, abundant selection of adult beverages, and cool Tampa neighborhood vibes. And you can purchase case of drinks to go. Genius if you ask me. I love this place! 😘 Thin crust pepperoni is my comfort food.

Hidden gem of a neighborhood pizza joint and bottle shop. Craft beer, wine, THC bevs and friendly staff. Tara (pronounced Tar A) was sweet. Music was on point and her beer knowledge was appreciated. The wings are baked not fried. Delicious! I was in the mood for beer and enjoyed a few west coast doubles. Shop small business and support this spot! Thanks for what you do!

I'm not one to leave reviews, so I'll keep this short. Good pizza is hard to find in Tampa, this place is easily the best in my opinion. Pizza was 10/10, service was 10/10 too. Ordered Dead Mans Party, Bring The Noise also looks so good, wings were amazing too.

Google
This restaurant is great hidden gem. It's a historic building that was built in 1884 and was originally a grocery store. That's why the name "Lee's grocery"still remains. The atmosphere is very laid back. The service that we received was very nice too. The pizza was very tasty and had plenty of styles to choose from. There is a wide selection of beers and sodas. There is a outdoor patio that is fenced-in and pet friendly. The owner is very friendly and down-to-earth.

Wings are baked to perfection without the grease vibe and great smokey flavour. Pizza a solid 8-9 out of 10. Some pints on tap are only $5 each....fantastic in every way. One word of warning, you will eat too much and enjoy every moment of it!!

Yelp
Hidden gem within a super cool historical building that's serving up AMAZING wings, pizza, and craft beer. I finally got the chance to check out Lees Grocery for a superbowl dinner and will definitely be returning. The atmosphere was very laid back and although it was pretty empty when we went, I can imagine it's a fun spot when it's more busy. The inside is smaller than I anticipated it to be, but I enjoyed it. Made it seem homier. I was surprised to see the large outdoor seating area, which seems great for larger groups! Food: The wings are absolutely amazing. We ordered the 10 wings, plain, with hot and mild sauce and blue cheese on the side. The wings were so perfectly seasoned and almost reminded me of the wings on a rotisserie chicken, nicely smoked. We also got a plain cheese pizza pie, 18''. It came out fresh, hot, and the cheese and sauce had great flavor. It does have a thicker chewier crust. Parmesan cheese, oregano, red pepper, and garlic powder are available to add on top. There were a lot of fun pizza options/ combos and we'll be back to try the more interesting flavors. I'm also interested in trying the garlic parmesan wings. The nice thing about smaller joints like this is that the food comes out quick and so fresh! No food is sitting around when the kitchen is so close to the main dining area. Drinks: They have such a large variey of canned craft beers, ipa's, seltzers, and even non-alcoholic beers. There were also 6 different draft beers. I sipped on some Surfside's, while my boyfriend enjoyed the Tampa Export gold lager. It was a very light and crisp beer. The bartender was great and let us sample a couple of the beers and even made a mix of a sour and seltzer beer that she likes!

Yelp
Meh, pizza was decent. The crust was fluffy and crisp, however when I picked up a slice all the toppings slid right off. This is the kind of pizza you need to fold because it's so thin and floppy. Overall, it lacked depth of flavor.

Yelp
Thursday 9/12/2024 Was looking for the best pizza in Tampa through Reddit and this was the most popular spot that was mentioned. I made a takeout order for an 18" dead man's pizza $27 and 10 wings (half bbq & half sweet Thai) $16. The ordering and pick up process was easy and the workers were cool. - The dead man's pizza aka meat lovers pizza was highly disappointing and underwhelming. * It tasted overcooked & slightly burnt and also the extra oregano and seasonings on the pizza were not needed at all. The pizza was a miss. - The bbq wings were the half I had as my cousin had the sweet Thai half and they were AWFUL. * These wings were dry, overcooked, and tasted like they had been out for while (you can tell they weren't fresh or moist). * The only slight positive I can say is that the sauce was alright but that's literally it. Overall, this spot was an awful experience and it seems Reddit can't be trusted for pizza spots in the Tampa area but then again everyone got they own taste buds.

Yelp
I don't like writing about how great this place is because then more people will find out about it! But it's my job as a Yelper to tell the people the truth and the truth is Lee's is one of the best. Tucked in a neighborhood in an old general store building, they have amazing pizzas and wings. They also feature some of the best beers on tap and have several beer fridges where you can choose your beer as well. They have a bar area, intimate dining room and outdoor patio area for seating. I've seen a lot of people do pick up as well for food and beer. You can choose your own pizza toppings or order several that are already designed like the Dead Mans party, with ham, sausage, pepperoni, meatball and bacon. Hours are Tuesday-Sunday 3-10. Parking is available on the streets surrounding the restaurant.

Yelp
Once again... Lee's did not disappoint. Fantastic service and food!! Thank you for being amazing no matter when we visit.

Yelp
Overall the experience at Lee's was pretty great. I've been to better and worse local pizza joints. Nothing special about the Caesar Salad. Worth it? Maybe The Pizza was good. I felt like the toppings were a bit light or unevenly distributed. The flavor was pretty good though. The service was good. Some of the workers could be a bit awkward but that's about it. Not much on the ambience or vibe. Really just your pizza bar joint with some beer. Pretty simple. Great patio for the dogs. The value could have been better. Toppings and special pizzas were a bit overpriced compared to the standard cheese. It was a good pizza, but I felt like we could get the same quality for at least a few bucks cheaper. Same with the salad. Nothing bad at all but it may just be an occasional spot rather than frequent or new favorite.

Yelp
Sweet neighborhood spot. Locals must feel real lucky to have a hang like this nearby. Great music playing, good selection of drinks, alcohol and non-alcohol. This spot has limited table seating inside, a couple high and low tops and bar seating as well umbrella covered patio tables outside in the courtyard. Street parking early. No idea how crowded this spot gets later in the evenings but it got busy pretty rapidly after opening. Only thing weird was the pizzas got delivered all out of order. I'm guessing they batch prep by pizza type but it all came out hot and good so no worries. Will def head back here for a laid back meal w good music.

Yelp
This place was on point! I'm impressed with the perfectly cooked pie and wings we got ;the wings were crispy but not over done , and the pie was well done and didn't flop in the middle . The vibes were super chill the music was good and they were playing the fifth element! The wait staff behind the bar was friendly and attentive. I'll def be back to hang out here again some time , there's a great selection of canned and draft craft beers and the vibe is very chill.

Yelp
We got a pizza and a salad for take out over the weekend. We really enjoyed it. The salad was solid with great dressing and we got the supreme pizza in the larger size offered and it was huge. Very reasonably priced for what you get as well. Looking forward to going in and checking it out over some beers. The chill unpretentious neighborhood bar vibe was right up my alley!

Yelp
Lee's Grocery is the epitome of "If it ain't broke don't fix it." Simple concept, beer, wine, pizza and wings. It has a neighborhood tavern feel.  And walking in the aroma of pizza was amazing. It is a small venue with bar seating, two long high tops and two regular tables on the inside and then some outside seating.  It was pretty warm inside on my visit.  The beer selection is extensive with cans and bottles as well as drafts.  What I really liked is the drafts from what I could tell were all from south Florida including one from Oveido Brewing in the Orlando area and one from Tank in the Miami area. It must be a popular spot because it was recommended especially for the wings in two of the breweries we had visited that day. So the service was very good.  Ordered the wings 10 for $12.99 and they don't do half orders.  So we did an order of the garlic parmesan and an order of the thai chili.  The wings here are wet and taste like they are baked not fried.  The garlic parmesan were the best of the two.  The thai chili was more sweet with very minimal heat. Both were good. I really liked Lee's grocery and I will definitely return if I am in the area.

Yelp
We hadn't been to Lee's since before the pandemic began. The pizza was still amazing. We had the Kiki Do You Love Me. It was just as I remembered...crispy and fresh. We also had some garlic parm wings. They could have been crispier, but they were still good. Service was a little slow and I think our waitress just finished her shift without telling us. The other employees noticed and got us our checks and stuff. We went inside to pay and they were very apologetic. We were totally fine though...we were having fun just chilling and hanging on the patio. We will be back soon!

Yelp
It breaks my heart to do this but after this last experience at Lee's I had to update my review. Hubby and I used to visit Lee's regularly when we lived in Tampa. We were back in town this past weekend for the first time in almost 10 months and we invited a few friends to join us. Hubby and I arrived first so we grabbed a table. The bartender came over and we each ordered a draft beer. A short while later, all but one friend had arrived so we placed our food orders. I mentioned to the server we were on separate checks. The pizzas took a long time to come out. And when they did, they weren't the same. The crust wasn't as crispy or seasoned as it was in Lee's prime. It felt like I was eating at a different place. Our server never came back to check on us or to see if we wanted more beer. One of our friends had to go up to the bar to ask for our checks. The server finally came back and had everything on one check. I didn't feel like going through the trouble of splitting it so we just used Venmo. The service at Lee's has gone way down hill. The pizza just isn't the same. I first noticed the decline before we even moved but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Now I doubt I will ever be back.

Yelp
This place is a great find. Hear from some friends that there was great food so I went. Great pizza and amazing wings! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
Lee's is one of my favourite little spots to just eat some pizza and wings and wash it all down with a cold beer. They have excellent pies with unique combinations. I really like their Sriracha Bbq pizza in their "secret menu" ;) When it comes to wings, these bad boys fall right off the bone! They are baked and usually covered in rosemary. They look like someone dropped them in the grass but trust me they are delicious haha! They have a wide variety of beers on tap as well as bottled and canned. Briney Melon Gose is my go to! It is a small set up inside and they are usually pretty busy but they do offer outdoor seating. Also it is only street parking so that is something to be aware of.

Yelp
Great Food and great service! Food was amazing and the waitresses couldn't have been any nicer. It's a great place to go hang out with your friend for an evening of fun

Yelp
I want to give this place 3 stars because I hated the customer service experience but for how delicious the pizza was, I just can't do under a 4 so take this review as a 3.5 lol. When u walk in it looks like a local pub with its weekday regulars huddled around a tiny TV watching sports. It's not obvious they sell food at all and "grocery" being in the name is already misleading enough. The person taking food orders was a bartender with no personality at all. I thought maybe he was just being that way towards me personally, but he was like that with everyone. I wasn't greeted, I had to ask for a menu once I sat at the bar instead of it being automatically offered, he asked if I wanted a drink and I said "It's Cinco De Mayo so why not? I just know anything about the craft beers you sell." Do you think he offered to recommend something to me?? If you said yes in your mind... YOU THOUGHT WRONG! I ordered a Buffalo chicken tossed pizza TO GO because I didn't want to be in there anymore. I ate some of it in the car and it was honestly one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Flavorful toppings and the crust was baked to perfection with the perfect balance of soft and crisp. They come in 3 sizes. I ordered the 10" which was $12.99. I'll be back... but never to dine in.

Yelp
Fantastic pizza and wings. best in town. The sweet chili wings were fire. If you're looking for a chill vibe hole in the wall place with a huge selection of beer, go here

Yelp
If you know you know! This place deserves 10 stars Great PIZZA and oven baked wings in the city my only complaint is we don't have one in Riverview Food so good I take the drive Not the best photo pizza still looks good

Yelp
Great little place with an unusual pizza menu, excellent pizzas and a great selection of beer. Very simple but cozy place. I do come back to this place whenever I am in the area.

Yelp
Yummy pizza wings and beer. They both indoor and outside seating. A little music playing overhead. It's a nice vibe. Casual dining. Some peeps had pets with them. I will definitely go back next time I'm in Tampa!

Yelp
This was a spot that's been on my list for a while now and I'm so happy I went. A solid local business that focuses on good pizza, wings, and beer. They have some solid local drafts. Interior is half bar half package store with comfortable relaxed vibe. Has a great community energy and service was welcoming and energetic. Tara was wonderful and genuinely great at her job. Will be on repeat in the future!

Yelp
We decided to give this place a try after reading many reviews about 'don't stand so close to me' pizza.. Pros: crust 5 stars, the pizza we ordered was good from a vegetarian standpoint, from a traditional pizza standpoint, I have to say- we should have gone traditional to really give Thai review a true 'best' pizza rating.. with that said, we would try again next time with the traditional red sauce maybe with one meat just so we can really know whether is best or not.. so for this review, pretty good with a non-traditional pizza Wings wise: I give it a 4.5 stars-- tasty and unique in a good way.. baked with lots of seasoning, we got the hot and was very pleased. Cons: if you are splitting a large pizza, they are charging full price for the other half-- so that lost a star to me.. Give this place a try and be cognizant of the splitting fee @ full price- so if you get 3 toppings on the half - that's $10 additional you are paying for @ $2.50 a topping plus some split fee (I'm not clear on that - assuming $2.5 since that adds up to $10)

Yelp
THE BEST CHICKEN WINGS IN TAMPA. There. I said it. The sweet Thai chili wings will change your life. I can't explain it...you just need to try it for yourself! You can't go wrong with any of their pizzas either. If you're in the mood for pizza and wings, this is where you need to go! They have a really nice selection of craft beer and cider as well. Service is always friendly and fast. Five stars all around!
google avatar

Yelp
Lee's is always a good place to have pizza and drinks with friends. The service is always spot on.
google avatar

Stephanie B.

Yelp
Pizza and beer and outdoor seating! Hands down the best beer selection in town....and the pizza crust . Swoon! Seriously, if you've never been, just try them, I have a sneaky feeling you'll love them! Personally I'm a fan of their Dead Man's Party Pizza, but any of their pizzas are phenomenal! Back to the beer.....where else can you go where they have a HUGE selection by.the.bottle/can for individual purchase and straight from a cooler, and they have some on tap as well. Amazing pizza. Best beer selection. Outdoor, or indoor, seating. Cool things to look at. Go. Eat. Drink. Swoon.

Yelp
Lee's has become a staple in our repertoire (pre quarantine, whyyyy 2020, why?) for great pizza, wings, beer, ambiance, music, and overall vibe. We love the neighborhood feel and give Lee's props for staying true, supporting local breweries & vendors.

Supersix-One-Ranger R.

Yelp
Its not your standard Place, it carries a great vibe, good pizza, it is my comfort Tampa place. Your Standard local joint. even my brother From Chicago " pizza snoobs" loved it, service is good as well
google avatar

Jamie W.

Yelp
Some of the best "standard" pizza (ie. not gourmet, wood-fired, farm-to-table- sourced pizza like Pizza Box or Gregario) I've found since moving to Florida, along with Hampton Station, Eddie & Sam's, etc. Even if it did kind of look like someone squeezed bird droppings on my last pie.. ;) a little presentation goes a long way, all the way to 5 stars! Beer selection is pretty good. I cringe when hip pizza places expect you to pair your pie with sweet marshmallow stouts -- they had a decent amount of lagers, wheat beers and IPAs on draft, definitely appropriate for the cuisine, and plenty more coffee lactose berliners in the packaged section for the more exotic types.

Yelp
I wouldn't say we are "regulars" here, but we have gotten food from Lee's more than once, and it's always been enjoyed. Ordered a take out pizza one week ago. Upon getting it home, and eating it, it tasted like it was burned. That's all we could taste. Turned a slice over, and the crust was black, definitely was burned. Have reached out to Lee's twice, and have not gotten a reply.
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
Horrible service which was only saved by the food quality. We went to the bar to get menus for pizza, and even asked if that is where we needed to go to order food after waiting about 5 minutes. We wanted to make sure that we didn't need to be seated to order food. When we finally caught the bartender's attention and asked our question he gave us a sheepish "yes" and then took off for another 10 minutes while actively avoiding us. And to be honest the only reason the bartender came to serve us was because we took some beer out of the self service fridge and he came to lecture us about the pricing. We also had to borrow a menu from another customer because he didn't give us one. I understand that a lot of places are understaffed and people are overwhelmed, but my dude crossed the length of the bar about 20 times and chose not to help us. As for the food, the pizza had a good soft crust and a good amount of toppings. We were expecting the chicken wings to be buffalo but they were more of a seasoned variety. We did appreciate that they gave us mostly drums and they were a good size compared to other restaurants. In the end he tried to charge us for the whole pack of beer even though my sister only drank one. I want to give this place another chance because it's a really cool spot and is a historic place. But if I were entertaining another guest in the area I would think twice.

Yelp
Best pizza hands down ! We moved from upstate NY last year and finally found pizza like back home !

Yelp
The best hidden gem in The Heights. Feels like you're eating in a Record store from 98 Walls decorated with Album covers, wall to wall reach in fridges with local beers,oh yeah and the best pizza and wings anywhere in Tampa! Cool outside patio and friendly service. Support local and tip big. This place is a treasure

Yelp
One of my new favorite spots after trying it out this past weekend. The location is very nondescript located in the middle of a neighborhood. Be on the lookout or you may miss it. There are a couple of tables inside along with the bar and a larger patio area. The staff was very welcoming and quick to take drink and food orders. The kitchen is only open until 10pm so beware as the hours listed on some other sites may be incorrect. We tried a pepperoni pizza and hot wings and both were amazing. They came out fresh and steaming hot. The pizza crust was very good and not dried out like some places can be. The wings were very good sized and flavored well. So glad I finally made it here and will surely become a staple on my go to list.

Yelp
Just wasn't good. Food wasn't good, weird service, bad atmosphere... could have been an off day but I won't be back.

Yelp
Lee's Grocery is a small neighborhood pizza joint in Tampa Heights. It doesn't have its own parking lot, so parking is just on the streets. I love the vibe of this place: it's laid back, with only one television, funny posters and album covers on the wall, and has a cool combo of music playing, ranging from 80's music to today's. They have a huge variety of beers and ciders in stock. I have become addicted to William's Dragon Breath Hard Apple Cider, and I love that they carry both that and William's Sir Perry Hard Pear Cider, which was delicious. I usually go here for pizza, and it is consistently great. Normal crust (i.e. not thick and not thin), and they are very generous with all the toppings. This past visit I also tried their wings, and they were fabulous. I think what made them so great was all the seasoning the wings had on them - they weren't just coated in buffalo sauce with no other flavor. Plus, the wings were nice and meaty, with not much fat. The bartenders are always friendly, service is quick, and the pizza and wings are delicious. I think this might be my new Sunday hangout.
google avatar

Gisselle S.

Yelp
Tasty! It has that greasy but worth it feel in every bite. This place is very very small, so stroll in on a random early afternoon, or expect to wait or carry out! Would like to try their wings, but their pizza gets a thumbs up from me!
google avatar

Jayde S.

Yelp
Expect to wait for your food but trust me it is worth it! I love the neighborhood feel of this bar; great staff and beer selection! Such a neighborhood gem with amazing pizza and wings! My go to is the hot and garlic parm mix for the wings and any pizza!
google avatar

Trey L.

Yelp
Best kept secret in Tampa. Best pizza and wings in town and a killer atmosphere. I cannot recommend Lee's enough.
google avatar

John W.

Yelp
Lee's is a hole-in-the-wall pizza joint. It is a cute spot and has a nice selection of local IPA's and wines. I went there on a Wednesday and it was sort of crowded. Not a lot of room in there. But, the pizza is DELICIOUS. We ordered a pepperoni pizza with green peppers. We also got some bbq wings. The wings were good as well but a little on the spicy side for normal bbq wings. They have a few tables for outside seating that can give you a nice ambiance while you enjoy some pizza and cold beer. (Sadly we had to sit inside because it was blazing hot outside). Overall I recommend this place for a casual dinner and drinks night. It is reasonably priced for the quality and size of pizza that you are getting. Can't beat $5 for a cold glass of local beer!
google avatar

Bianca N.

Yelp
Lee's? Yes, please! If you are looking for amazing pizza and local craft beers with a neighborhood hangout, this is your place! The pizza is delicious with a flavorful and thin crunchy crust. The one downside is if you come on a packed Friday night it does take a while (45 min) for the pizza to come out, but with plenty of craft beers to choose from the wait isn't bad! Recommended song pairing: Kiki, do you love me? - Drake

Brad A.

Yelp
Good pizza, great selection of beer, friendly staff. Cool history of the building/name.

Yelp
Exceptional old school neighborhood pizza joint. Delicious pizza and salad. Large selection of beers to include Heffe!! We just moved here from Carolina. Wait staff is small but efficient and nice. Look fwd to our next visit

Yelp
I'm not usually a review person BUT tonight I was blown away. I've lived in Tampa for 15 years and some how just discovered Lees grocery tonight. They serve pizza and wings. My husband says it's the best cheese pizza he's ever had and I would agree!! Also the garlic Parmesan wings, hot wings and bbq wings are all a 10/10.
google avatar

Garth P.

Yelp
Definitely in my top three pizza places in Tampa. Great, wood fired pizza, great craft beer selection and it's tucked away in a great neighborhood location in the Heights. I've always had great service, outdoor seating is available - parking is on the street.

Yelp
What a wonderful time with friends, just enjoying a delicious meal out there, Such a lovely weekend

Yelp
Lee's is a great local bar with surprisingly very good food! If you're looking for a super low-key pizza joint, Lee's is that and more. We came on a Saturday night around 8:30PM and had no problem grabbing a seat at the bar. Our bartender was nice and gave us the run down on beers on tap. Lee's is only beer and nonalcoholic. The cool thing is you can just go up to the glass fridges and grab whatever beer you want, yourself. And they have tons to choose from! We were starving as we had just landed in Tampa not to long before coming here. We ordered the Message pizza and 10 hot wings. The pizza looked okay, but was pretty good! Especially the crust. The wings were BOMB. They were fresh and definitely not freezer wings. We ate ourselves into a coma. They are open till 12, but by the time we were done our meal we were the only ones in the place so we headed home. I can't stress enough how much of a hidden gem this place is! Definitely a great corner spot with good food and good jams.

Yelp
Kindof bummed, we heard from everyone we just haaaad to try Lee's Grocery because it was so good. We ordered a half pepperoni half sausage and mushroom pizza and hot wings last night. They gave us the wrong wings, so that was a bummer, the wings we got were covered in seasonings, I think maybe the Thai chili wings? But still somehow bland? They were cooked really well though. The pizza was just mediocre. The sauce was way too sweet for me, and someone went absolutely nuts with the oregano shaker, because it tasted like sweet pizza sauce and oregano and basically nothing else. Also, the "half and half" was done really sloppy so there were 3 pepperoni pieces, one of which had mushrooms on half of it, end one piece that was mostly cheese with one pepperoni on the far edge and mushrooms down the other edge. If the pizza had been better and I had wanted more than 1 slice I guess I would have been out of luck since I hate mushrooms (but husband loves them so I'm stuck with half gross pizzas forever I guess!). Lee's needs to worn on actually evenly dividing toppings on a half and half pizza. I will definitely give it another try, maybe it was just an off night, but it was a major let down for the place that strangers would interrupt us to recommend when we were talking about having pizza for dinner. Not likely to become a regular rotation in our pizza ordering unless the next time we try them is a vast improvement.
