I had a delightful lunch at Left Bank in Menlo Park. The food was delicious, with authentic French flavors that truly impressed. The atmosphere was cozy and charming, capturing the essence of a classic French brasserie. Whether you’re looking for a casual yet refined meal, Left Bank is a great choice.

The atmosphere here is beautiful and the restaurant has a nice ambiance. The service was phenomenal - one of the best experiences I've had in a very long time. The food was also excellent - I loved their ravioli and dessert !

Had a date night here that was excellent. The staff is attentive and friendly, loved the dining room vibe and everything we tried was so good. Especially the beef bourguignon. I’m looking forward to coming back!

This was my second—and likely last—visit to Left Bank. Here’s what we ordered: • Prawns Provençale: Tasty, but $20 for just five pieces felt overpriced. • Beef Bourguignon: Full of flavor and worth returning for. • Pork Chop: The waiter recommended this dish to my wife and mentioned it would include two slices of pork chop. However, she was served only one—and it was overcooked. We initially thought the waiter might have misspoken, but later, we saw another patron served two slices. When we pointed this out to the waiter, he responded, “Oh, the cook made a mistake, but you should have told me earlier—now I can’t do anything.” There was no apology, discount, or offer of a complimentary dessert, as many other restaurants would provide when mistakes happen. The only highlight was the live jazz band playing during our visit. Without that, it would have been a thoroughly disappointing experience.

If Google had a 3.5 star option I’d have gone for that, so I’m being a bit harsh with 3. Keep in mind that this a pricey fine dining place. So I expected the food and presentation to blow me away. While their Beef Bourguignon tasted great, I just expected more for the price we were paying. That said, the service and the drinks were great. It’s a decent option if you are in the mood for some French fine dining.

Today is my old dad's birthday and we visited the restaurant. I liked everything very much: silence, non-intrusion of the waiters, atmosphere and, of course, food. Again, as if she visited the French province. Crispy toasted bread and snails - I love these sensations. second visit to the restaurant and again successful!

Google
The Left Bank Menlo Park is a nice restaurant visit if you're looking for decent French fare in a casual atmosphere. I'll be honest - the food and service at this location can be inconsistent. Some nights the service and food are absolutely on point and other nights the service can be a bit slow (even on nights that are not all that busy) and the food a bit overseasoned. HOWEVER, more often than not, the service and food is pretty good and I've never experienced either bad enough to want to not go back. It's just a pleasant "casual night out" type of restaurant that satisfies our craving for French cuisine without breaking the budget.

We ate lunch here today and the wine & food was delicious! We sat outside and the weather was nice. Had Bordeaux wine with French onion soup, steak tartare and steak frites. Our server Cesar was excellent and we had a few good laughs.

Yelp
Chose this place for lunch to celebrate co worker's retirement. It is a beautiful fine dining French restaurant. Not very crowded on a Sunday afternoon. Menu is somewhat limited. Personally I didn't like my French Toast. Bread was just dipped in syrup. Someone in our group who had tried this before said it did look different. Salmon Hash is also not the same which they use to serve few years ago. Cafe latte and Mocas were delicious. Highlights were deserts, quiche and Ahi Tuna tartare. Servers were attentive and took multiple pictures of our group which was really appreciated. Parking can be somewhat tricky but they share parking lot with Trader Joe's or you can park on the Laurel st in front of the restaurant.

Yelp
Paid by card. Left Bank is located on the corner street and offers some street parking. I went here on a Tuesday night for a private, corporate event upstairs. The restaurant was decorated nicely for the holidays and the servers were attentive. This was great for a group event since we got our own space and bathrooms upstairs. Appetizers, drinks, main dishes, and desserts were served and the food was good. I would recommend this place and would go back again.

Yelp
My Grandmother used to visit here a lot. And as she said, "one last goodbye." As much as my memories reach back to when I was a young kid at this restaurant, I can't ignore the issues. My grandmother had the cheese fondue, which was something she would always get whenever she visited. It had never tasted bitter, as she and my mother had described it. This could easily be a mistake, but putting the rind of your brie in probably shouldn't be ignored. My mother had the muscles and frites. What disturbed her was that it was a little watery. That is not as horrendous as bitter cheese fondue, but I felt it should be mentioned. My meal was the best of the group, and as far as I could tell, that was pretty fantastic. Here's where the most important message is: the service was standing at the side of the bar, talking. And while, yes, I'm not fully fluent in Spanish yet, I read expressions pretty well. To be perfectly frank, they were not talking professionally. However, our server was a very sweet young lady, and she had a genuine work ethic, so good on her. With that being said, this review is to anyone interested in learning from other's experiences. I don't think I can recommend this restaurant. I don't use sentimentality as a way to review. A bad experience is a bad experience, and that makes that.

Lisa T.

Yelp
The service is on point, and the decor is adorable. The fondue appetizer is a MUST TRY!! I think they spike it with a little roquefort... The bread is NEXT-LEVEL and I would be remiss if I overlooked the crunchy, succulent calamari. Know this, though -- it's noisy as heck in there. This morning I had laryngitis!

Jack T.

Yelp
My office came here for their holiday dinner outing. I thought that it was a pretty good experience as they know what they are doing for corporate/office night outs. I had a cocktail -- and it was marvelous. Drinks would be 5 stars from what I have tried and recommend this restaurant for drinks. We had many appetizers and they were ok. Calamari was crispy but some of my coworkers did not care for it. We had the escargot and I thought the grilled toast that came with it was a bit burnt tasting. Oysters were very good, and presented well. My entree was the beef bourguignon. It was almost very good but it just did not reach the tenderness level I think. Perhaps it was the concept of the dish and what the side elements should have been. Overall, great for parties but I did not think this was an over-the-top fantastic restaurant. My co-workers felt about the same. We appreciated they could handle our group, had good service, but the restaurant-related stuff was just good.

Yelp
Nice location, prompt service but a little overpriced for the portion size on some items, specifically the quiche tart - I was so hungry I had to order another item. But I still always appreciate having an outside, dog friendly restaurant option so I'm happy to have this restaurant in the area. We were able to easily get an OpenTable reservation last minute. Restaurant has a nice ambiance that reminds me of a French cafe as intended. There is a really nice outside patio space. There's plenty of public parking nearby.

Yelp
Several years ago I would have given LB four stars and debated about what they could do to earn five. Now I'm giving them three stars and wondering if they'll only be two when I come back next. This location used to be the better of the two as compared to Santana Row but not any more. The food and the service are both... average. Calamari: still tasty but much smaller portion. Shrinkflation is real. Tomato salad: the tomatoes are fresh and crisp. Points. The goat cheese was flavorless. Sigh. Niçoise Salad: this is perfect example of a dish that used to be great and now disappoints. Barely any Ahi, too much dressing. MUCH better in Santana row. Beef Bourguignon: still outstanding. Somehow I always eat it all. I'll keep coming back just for this. Pork chop: fine. Truffle fries: I mean, it's truffle fries. Enjoy. I still come here regularly and still eat outside in the lovely terrace. I just want more from them.

Yelp
Came here for their Thanksgiving dinner, so not sure how reflective this is during their normal days-- but this was a terrible experience. It was a 4-course dinner for $79/person. The first plate of salad came out, and the serving sizes for everyone were different. My serving was extremely small, enough to consume within 4 bites; while the others were able to take their time. Second course was the butternut squash soup.. it was cold and bland; quite disappointing. The main course was relatively okay. The turkey plate did come out cold, but the butternut ravioli, pork chops, and salmon were warm and delicious. Last but not least, dessert came out and we had pumpkin pie and apple pie. Pumpkin pie was good, nothing outstanding. The apple pie was not flavorful and tasted stale. TLDR my family and I were pretty disappointed with our Thanksgiving dinner considering our bill came out to about $600.

Yelp
Recently dined at this Left Bank location for lunch and I have to admit I did not plan on dining at Left Bank after my disappointment at Left Bank restaurant on Santana Rowas it feels like it's been going downhill. I've only ever dined at the Santana Location many times and found the service and food to be severely lacking. My co-worker wanted to go to this location and I have to say I was happy I did because I find this location so much better than Santana Row. We both ordered the steak and it was absolutely tender and delicious. The mashed potatoes were pretty good. Service was good. We sat inside at a table and the restaurant was not busy. Overall the experience was just okay. In my opinion, I can think of other restaurants with the same price point that would leave you with a wow factor and wanting to go back.

Sabrina G.

Yelp
We had an incredible dinner with Hugo as our waiter! We come here once a year! So worth it!

Yelp
I went to Left Bank with my boyfriend over the weekend, it's one of the few places that has a weekend happy hour. Happy Hour is every day from 3-6pm. Their wine is only $8 a glass, we got their red wine, and it honestly didn't taste that good. We tried the calamari frit $10 and that was the best thing we ordered. We also ordered cheeseburger sliders $6, that one was just alright, but it definitely needs some type of burger sauce. It was a bit dry. I'm glad they have weekend happy hour, I just wish their food and drinks tasted better.

Yelp
BE CAREFUL ORDERING THE OYSTERS On Friday 1/31/25 we were served bad oysters. Those of us that had them were all terribly sick for days. Vomiting, fevers the works. Those who did not eat them were fine. No real response or apology from the restaurant other than we will let the chef know. That was surprising. Service was fantastic as always. **please keep the "that's why I don't eat raw oysters" comments to yourselves. This is meant for the restaurant to see and be made aware of.

Yelp
3.5 stars Easy to make reservations, great location, and great customer service Interior is cute, a bit of dining hall like, can get loud but it's not bad. Food is the reason I gave this spot a solid 3.5 Beef bourguignon was super salty, like inedible amount of salty food that I couldn't eat it. I had the best beef bourguignion in Paris so I was so looking forward to this spot and trying it here but was disappointed Calamari- it was good, I like the sauce, some pieces were chewy so either overcooked or old, though it didn't smell fishy so it was fresh but overcooked I assume French onion soup: was delicious, so much cheese but it was good! Truffle Fries - no truffle flavor at all, it was odd Drinks- drinks were good, I like their gin drink with lavender

Cindy L.

Yelp
Escargo 5 garlic butter, rich, flavorful Stone Fruit Salad 3 peach over bread Rack of Lamb 4 medium rare, juicy, ok sauce Les Profiteroles 3 vanilla ice-cream sandwich

Janet C.

Yelp
Calamari was a very stingy portion. Prices are high for what you get. The food was tasty though.

Yelp
Honestly such a disappointing experience. We came here for an early valentine's day date around 7pm on the 13th. It seemed fairly busy but not as much as I would expect considering it's the night before valentine's day since we were seated without a wait and even got to decide which table we preferred. Decor was lovely and the highlight of the date. Ambience was kinda ruined by the super loud dining area and lack of music so it's just a room full of people trying to talk loud enough over everyone else in the room. Service was VERY slow which I expected and don't blame the servers at all since they seemed to be short staffed (I only saw the same 3 servers attending to all the sections). The food looked nice but wasn't anything special. I feel like the dishes lacked a lot of depth and flavor, mostly just buttery. The escargots and mussels honestly had no flavor beyond the butter sauce. Steak tartare and the charcuterie board were okay at best as well. The dark chocolate on the cream puffs were a little too bitter so it didn't pair well with the choux pastry or the ice cream since they weren't very sweet. The creme brulee was just not good at all. The sugar crust had been sitting too long before it even got served to us so it didn't have the signature crack you'd want in a creme brûlée and the custard base was overcooked with no flavor. Overall the dinner was okay but not a disaster. It isn't worth the visit given the price point and the surcharge already included on top of that for "the hospitality you have always enjoyed" when most of the 2 hours we spent there was waiting for our order to be taken.

Daniel. A.

Yelp
Cesar was truly amazing! Me and my family had an excellent visit. We've never eaten here before and thought this was a great time to try a different theme on culinary arts. Here at LEFT BANK, we came prepared with our pallets ready for a new adventure. The Spinach and Cheese Fondue were satisfying and our main course did not disappoint either. Once we maid our way to dessert we knew our appetites would be settle well into the following day. We will certainly be making my way here before the next Christmas season arrives. Their libations are refreshing, the Espresso provided the extra Kick we needed to finish off our Holidays. This Place is Classy!

Andreas G.

Yelp
Went here for a lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Was a nice day so we grabbed an outside table. We ordered the ahi tuna tartare with a side of ratatouille and the calamari frite. I really liked the ahi tuna tartare. Nice combination of the fresh fish with the avocado and cucumbers. The bread was good as well and the toasted onions on top. Just got a bite of the calamari but also liked it. My favorite dish was probably the side of the ratatouille. Simple dish but perfectly cooked veggies with a nice tomato sauce. Really nice atmosphere outside and service was quick and friendly. We were at the Santana row location a few years ago which was also good but had a better overall experience here.

Karne N.

Yelp
Had a really pleasant happy hour here recently and just thought I'd putin an update. We had the oysters, the charcuterie, a salad, and the tuna tartare with friends. The waiter was delightful and allowed us to quietly buy a drink for someone near us with whom we had exchanged a laugh and a quiet shaking of our heads at someone else's behavior. It made for a nice beginning to the weekend.

Yelp
When I lived in Walnut Creek, I'd frequently go to Left Bank in Pleasant Hill and it was one of the highlights of my week. Everything from the service to the food was exceptional! Recently, we found ourselves in Menlo Park and decided to give this location a try and boy was it a disappointing. We tried many of the classic Bistro items such as the escargots, steak tartare, French onion soup, etc, and everything was pretty average. There are far better French bistros all over the Bay Area that it I personally have a hard time thinking of a reason to return to Left Bank. It's too bad because in the past, we have always really enjoyed the food there.

Mark H.

Yelp
430p. Empty restaurant. Four people at bar. Won't seat a group of five because it's too many. Have to wonder what their seating policy really is.

Darrol H.

Yelp
Hello there! We usually stop at Left Bank for dinner, but decided to try brunch. What a great move! My Mrs loved the smoked salmon hash and remarked on the exceptional quality of both the dish and the service. Our kid devoured the French toast and declared it the "best" toast ever--a high praise from an eight-year-old! I chose the steak frites, which were absolutely delicious. It's comforting for our family to have a reliable, high-quality restaurant that offers exceptional food, service, and an experience that doesn't break the bank! Thank you, Left Bank!

Maryline M.

Yelp
I've dined at Left Bank many times and always left very satisfied. My partner and I came to dinner for nye and left pretty disappointed. The food was lackluster and the service left a lot to be desired. Our waitress could not wait to get us out of there. Our wine came after our food, our dishes piled up, and we had to ask for water. Overall, not a great experience, hopefully it was just an off day...

KC B.

Yelp
Came here for lunch. Ordered the Tropical Refresher as my drink (would recommend!). Then, to serve as both my entrees, I ordered the Ahi Tuna Tartare appetizer and a side of French Fries. The fries were perfectly golden and crispy. On the Tartare, you can taste how fresh the Ahi tuna is. It pairs so well with the avocado & cucumber dip underneath it. When you take the combination of all 3 on the bread, the overall flavor and texture go hand in hand. Service was fast and friendly. I left full and satisfied. I will visit again!

Yelp
This place seems to be committing suicide one small cut at a time. I went there this afternoon (Sunday) at 3:30 and decided to have an early dinner since the bar area was pleasantly full and I didn't feel like going back to my hotel and then going out again. I could tell they had a history as you don't create a place like this overnight and I was hopeful that all their years in business would add up to a good experience for me. In the bar today in the afternoon the women working the bar were also the waitresses. My server sat me down, took my wine order and that was the last time I saw her over the course of an hour long meal unless I waved my hand at her to come over. She was not busy, and in fact, was so not busy, that she was taking her lunch standing up behind the bar-not the kind of place where they serve a family meal, I am guessing. I was traveling so I was a solo diner and I know how that can amazingly reduce my status in the eye of the server. I just hate these experiences, though, where you walk into a real restaurant with real table service and not only don't get it, but are ignored to the point of feeling as if you are disturbing the server by requesting their help. The whole crew there never cracked a smile at any customer and didn't seem to checking on their diners at all. I know this culture is a function of management so please, Darvin Aragon, do not reply with how sorry you are about my poor experience-will not ring true. And unlike most patrons when I knew I would leave my server no tip I asked if she had a moment to talk with me. (Yes, even though she was standing in front of me in an almost empty restaurant, I felt I had to ask) I introduced myself with my name and then described my experience very briefly with her. No apology, nothing but the same uncaring blankness I had had from her as well as the bussers and other server. I even commiserated with her about how it was slow in the restaurant and since she was there to make money, that was not a good thing, but had she treated me even a little differently she would have boosted her income for sure. I think I am fatigued with trying to have the same restaurant experiences I used to have regularly pre-Covid, but given the prices, add-ons and pressure to tip well I am beginning to sense I need to stop trying , give the industry a chance to re-group, and continue to hone my culinary skills at home. I am not getting even the basics of what I want when I go out. Once again, however, what was going on at Left Bank today is being permitted if not promoted by management so I won't be enriching them again any time soon even though I will be traveling to this area regularly. Darvin-do not reply. You are not credible.

Greg C.

Yelp
I have been to other LB restaurants so I know what they are about. I had a burger at LB tiburón recently and really liked it so I ordered it here. It was not as good. And it was pretty boring being completely dry of any condiments. There were an equal number of employees but somewhat slow and had to real flag them down for help. Overall it was good.

Andy S.

Yelp
Bread Basket is alright. It costs extra. Duck Confit was very dry. I had to ask for a sauce on the side to help eat it. Do not recommend. Overall the place is pricey and the quality of food was not good enough for the price tag. I will not be coming back.

Haleh H.

Yelp
The restaurant was packed but service was still good, at least at the bar. This place has good pulse & energy, nice ambience. Food overall is pretty good. - oysters: absolutely loved it! They were fresh and tasted really good. Came with lemons & 3 sauces. Ahi tuna tartar: enjoyed eating it. Good amount of fish mixed with Avocado & cucumber. So fresh & yum. - Beef bourguignon: very tasty. Lots of goodies - meat, potatoes, mushrooms and carrots. Had great flavor & texture. Drinks were great too.

Ian W.

Yelp
Maybe it's just me. Came here for dinner and the service was mediocre. I ordered the bouillabaisse and it was just ok. I love seafood, but this dish didn't do it for me. I would definitely give them another shot but go for something like the steak and frites.

Elisa H.

Yelp
Love this restaurant! My mom and sisters threw my 40th birthday party in the San Mateo location, which closed soon after the party. My sisters and I have sister spa day annually and do dinner at the Santana Row location, but I visited the Menlo Park location for the first time yesterday in the late afternoon. Although the interior of this restaurant is pretty gorgeous, my son and I couldn't resist a shaded outdoor table, as the weather was perfect. This may have affected the pace of the meal, which, though we enjoyed our leisurely meal, sometimes had us seeking out our waiter, for water and our check. Speaking of the bill, I want to shout out the InKind app, which sent a welcome gift of $50 off of our meal. I like that you didn't need to present a gift card, or coupon, but applied discount directly as we entered the check #. The discount made our evening a bargain. We started with margaritas , pineapple for me and prickly pear for Kyle. We went indulgent with the apps, his steak tartare was very rich and unctuous and I could only have a little of the cheese fondue, because the combination of creamy, strong warm cheese was a little too heavy on the blue cheese for my taste, but the fresh bread took me back to the boulangeries in Paris. I can never resist moules frites and Left Bank's version with Pernod, shallot and spinach is excellent, as are their crispy frites. June is not a month with an r, which I think applies to all seafood but especially oysters, something about red tides and toxins, but I live on the edge ( although the three unopened mussels remained untouched, because I am not THAT crazy. My son loved his Petrale sole special, although he was also pretty full from the steak tartare and fondue. We took home a tart citron in honor of my mother's birthday. I got a little weepy and nostalgic, but she was smiling down upon all of us, pleased at being fondly feted in grand style. my son got a little impatient as we waited for the bull, but he's unaccustomed to 2 hour dinners. Luckily we got an early start and he agreed to meandering through downtown Menlo Park to walk off some of our considerable calorie consumption. Love you mom and thank you for everything, wish we could meet you in Paris this summer, though dinner at Left Bank is kind of a dupe.

Yelp
Been coming to various branches 2+ times per year for the past 20+ years, and for the most part have been very satisfied with every experience until now because I know what I'm getting. I know that this is a horribly inaccurate example of a classical French Bistro or Brasserie for both taste and quality, but I like the taste enough and the raw oysters are always fresh, and not overpriced. Although now you can get much better oysters for the same price nowadays. Came in 10/31/24 approximately at 1:00pm. Dining room was barely 1/4 filled. Had my same order of 6-18 oysters, escargot, and either the steak frites or the specialty burger. What used to always impress me was that our oyster order used to arrive in less than 7 minutes every time and they used to be fairly priced for the quality of oyster. Today, my oysters came at the same time as the escargot which was at least a 15-20 minute wait. Since I unusually was waiting longer than I ever have I scanned the dining room several times to confirm that the dining room was not even filled to 1/4 capacity, and that other parties had seemed to be waiting for quite some time for their entree. I bring up the time of day and the excess spare capacity to emphasize that although this was the middle of the lunch service, the place was essentially pretty empty. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful as always but given the wait times in a relatively empty restaurant and the much higher price for the oysters, I believe my longstanding affection for this restaurant chain has run its course.

Yelp
I am sorry to have to do it again. WRITING ANOTHER BAD REVIEW FOR THIS RESTAURANT.We moved here from France in 1998. Left Bank used to be a little bit home away from home. But over these past couple of years .... Such a big disappointment. Are they giving up? I ordered chicken and mashed potatoes. It looked and tasted like an average cafeteria cheap food. It's going to be the same...the manager will reply nicely, thanking me for reviewing this place, but no action is being taken to improve the quality. we won't go back. All our friends and community feel the same. Such a shame.

Charlotte S.

Yelp
The last few times we have eaten here, we were extremely disappointed because of poor food and terrible service... We were in the area today so decided to give this place one more chance. We ended up happy that we made that choice. The reason for not giving 5 stars is as follows: *The Salad Niçoise is not as bountiful as it used to be. And is not served on a platter anymore, just a regular plate which makes it feel less fancy. *The Croque Monsieur and Madame are on the Menlo Park Website menu, but not on their in-restaurant menu... Very confusing. I asked if I could order a Croque Madame anyway, and fortunately the Chef and Manager agreed. Thank you! My advice would be to keep those sandwiches on the menu. Afterall, this is supposed to be a French Restaurant!! If they must be removed from the menu, allow those items to be ordered if asked. Please and Thank you!!!

Caitlin M.

Yelp
To save you time reading this review don't go here for celebratory occasions. They turned on the BRIGHT LIGHTS and turned off the music to introduce a cafeteria atmosphere and basically kicked everyone out of the restaurant at 9:30PM on NYE. So much for a celebratory dinner that we spent over $400 on! We went for NYE dinner because the Prix Fix menu looked good. Our dinner reservation was at 7:30pm. Our waiter was sat all tables at the same time so it took over a half hour to put in a drink order (not his fault and he was very apologetic). Food was lackluster. We ordered a dozen oysters to start before our prix fix. The mignonette was flavorless and watery. Then my lobster bisque was COLD and there was lobster shell ground up in it. When I kindly asked the manager to warm it up he unapologetically took it and a few minutes later I was brought back a BOILING bowl of bisque. So passive aggressive. Sorry I don't enjoy cold soup! The duck was good but overall nothing can make up for the terrible management and the fact that they kicked all of the patrons out at 9:30pm.

Corissa L.

Yelp
I no longer live in the area, so I haven't been here is years. We made reservations here for a late lunch with a group of friends, as we wanted to catch up as we were in town for our high school reunion. Left Bank met our needs perfectly for a catch-up, and the bar was a nice place to hang out since we got there a bit early. It wasn't too busy at 3pm, so we could hear each other across the table. The bread is warm and fresh and we got several orders. We shared the calamari, which was devoured. And I can't speak for what others ate, but empty plates are a good sign. I had the French Onion Soup, which was delicious. And shared the Bouillabaisse with my husband, but it wasn't overly large and could have eaten it all if I did not have the soup. Would not hesitate to suggest as a place to meet when we're back in town.

Yelp
Wonderful and delicious food, especially the escargot. We were dipping our bread in it the whole time we were there. Food is always on point and dishes are delicious. Friendly staff and service is great.

Yelp
First time here. Delicious meal (steak frites and mussels especially yummy! ), nice atmosphere in a beautiful space and great service. We will definitely we back!

Food is good! Restroom is awful. We really enjoy this restaurant with their good selection of menu, light and fresh ingredients, and convenient location. Bad: The restrooms are both located on the 2nd floor. All the toilets in women's restroom were dirty and out of toilet papers.

Yelp
Food, meh....you're paying mostly for the atmosphere. Most of the staff here either seem weird, stressed or unhappy for some reason.

Yelp
Have been here a couple times for dinner, and recently went for their happy hour. Happy hour- got the half pound mussels and order of truffle fries. Their mussels are in this garlicky white wine/curry? Looking sauce that is very tasty. Comes with just one piece of bread. The fries were not truffle at all and had bits of melted cheese on it- they were made tolerable by dipping in the mussel sauce. The HH drink menu had both alcoholic and nonalcoholic choices. Mistakenly got the no alcohol "zero proof" margarita which I realized after taking a sip and seeing the quotes around these drinks on the menu. Bartender was kind enough to give a shot of tequila to make it a real marg. Prior dining experiences were good- escargots and steak tartare are classic delicious appetizers. I've had their steak frites for entree which was standard but hit the spot. All in all- the place is classic French bistro that is consistent.

Yelp
Enjoyable experience overall for a Thursday night date. The venue is pleasant, quiet and I love it in comparison to the Santana Row location in San Jose. I guess age plays a big part in a sense. My party days are behind me hitting 50 soon lol! If you like tourist lively scene I suggest San Jose location. If like some quiet night sipping on some great Pinot smiling and looking at your dates eyes and hear each other talk Menlo Park is your place. However, the exceptional service and delicious food more than make up for it. I opted for the Niçoise lettuce salad to start yum which not only came in a generous portion but was also incredibly tasty. I tried the trout over some green beans. This might be my go to if I'm craving for seafood. My beautiful life partner ordered the skirt steak plate. She wasn't thoroughly pleased as it was kind of over cooked. Overall a delightful dining evening experience with great service and scrumptious dishes.

Yelp
We came here for dinner after years this was always our go to. The food was absolutely phenomenal and our waiter, Jarren was the BEST. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays and we loved sitting at the booth. Highly recommend coming here for dinner!!

Yelp
Dinner for 2 on a Thursday night. We were seated right by the window that looks directly into the kitchen, so my review may be reflective of what I saw there. In terms of food, it's a solid 4/5. We had: - Cheese fondue - came out very quickly and was delicious. The bread choices are scarce but good nonetheless. - Moules Frites - these tasted very good but expect it to be a much smaller portion than you may be used to in other french restaurants. - Beef Bourguignon - soft and rich! Might be a bit too rich for some, but I liked it a lot. Definitely couldn't eat it myself in one sitting though Now service is where this place lacks. The waiters are very nice but it took 45 minutes between us finishing our appetizer to being served our mains. Imagine my horror and anxiety as I painstakingly watched a serving of moules frites sitting in the window for over 20 minutes (yes, I kept time), praying that it wasn't coming to our table. It didn't... but I feel bad for the poor guy that got those ice cold fries. Throughout my 90+ minutes at the restaurant, I would watch multiple dishes go through the same treatment. I wonder how they decide who gets the sacrifice dish.

Yelp
Thanksgiving experience review: We went for the thanksgiving dinner and the experience was amazing. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because we waited for 45 mins, even though we had a reservation. But they made it up by giving us some wine on the house. The food was amazing, we ordered the four course meal. Serving was well paced and we spent about 2 hours in the restaurant enjoying the food. The soup and the bread was particularly really good. I also enjoyed the turkey plate, they made the stuffing really well. Pumpkin pie was also amazing, so soft with a thin crust. Amazing experience if you don't want to cook and spend some quality time with you family. The price was $69 for four course meals, drinks was separate.

Yelp
High quality light French cuisine. That's what I have to say about this place. I'd suggest this for a nice date spot but nothing shouts out to me as amazing. I ordered the assorted bread, escargot, and the duck confit. The duck was great and I highly recommend this for those who like duck and desire a slightly lighter meal. I didn't care much for the bread and the escargot is exactly what you'd expect.  Overall, no complaints but I might skip the assorted bread unless you really need something to munch on right away. 5 stars because I'd have no problem coming back here and nothing that sparks a red flag.

Yelp
Outstanding food! Charming atmosphere and pleasant music on a rainy Friday evening. Brought a friend who had never been there before, but will definitely be back!

Yelp
Had a larger party, and the host gave me grief about adding two extra seats, and made it seem like it was impossible. Ends up adding another table in like 30 seconds after complaining to me about how it's not possible and how I should've told him earlier for like 5 minutes...the servers were nice though. I should've just left at that point in retrospect. Food is subpar. Steak is comically small, and if you want medium rare order a rare one because they overcook the steak by a whole doneness. Mademoiselle Colette is down the street, would recommend going there instead. Really disappointing.
