"The team behind the Marina’s Bus Stop opened this swanky restaurant in fall 2023, and rolled out its bougie brunch a year later. For $125, each guest is party to a coordinated dance of two cocktails, a tasting menu of “tea service-inspired bites,” and DJ Max Heegard playing throughout the affair. Make reservations through Tock." - Dianne de Guzman
"Bus Stop Saloon is a long-running neighborhood favorite but that doesn’t mean it can’t manage to surprise the locals still. The Bus Stop team opened Left Door just upstairs, but with a completely different look and feel from the street-level bar below. Expect to sip on one of six martinis or another classic cocktail, while sitting in what feels like your fanciest friend of a friend’s living room. As is befitting a classy place, caviar service is available — as well as a smaller, more manageable caviar bump — along with a limited raw bar, charcuterie board, and more." - Paolo Bicchieri
"A New Year’s Eve cocktail party that replicates a caviar-and-Champagne Marina-apartment vibe without the cleanup: $100 tickets include a welcome cocktail, a charcuterie spread, caviar bumps, and a Champagne toast at midnight; attendees are asked to wear cocktail attire and purchase tickets via Tock." - Dianne de Guzman
"This swanky new speakeasy is hiding on the second story above Bus Stop Saloon. It looks like a fabulous living room filled with floral wallpaper, tufted couches, and oh yes, a black marble fireplace. If that doesn’t warm you up, the martini menu with half a dozen options plus olive pairings should do the trick." - Becky Duffett
"Next door to the Bus Stop Saloon in Cow Hollow is a pair of unmarked doors to what looks like an apartment building—except these include a bouncer out front. Ascend the stairs and step into a cocktail lounge that’s full of bubble velvet couches, chandeliers, and enough gold accents to make Versailles look minimalist. You’ll find people wearing flashy dresses and freshly dry-cleaned sports coats lounging next to painted portraits that look straight out of an exhibit at the Legion of Honor. To match the atmosphere, the drinks and food have a bit of extravagance. Cocktails with ingredients like jasmine rice-infused tequila, aloe liqueur, and Okinawa brown sugar and bar bites such as a Valrhona mousse choco taco, $65 aged wagyu bites, and $12 bumps of caviar. Walk-ins are subject to availability, so plan ahead, make a reservation, and pull out your gala outfit (or, more realistically, the flashiest piece in your wardrobe)." - julia chen 1, lani conway, patrick wong, ricky rodriguez
