The Best Cheap Eats In Las Vegas - Las Vegas - The Infatuation

"For some of the best Hawaiian and Filipino food in Las Vegas, come to counter-service spot Lefty-J’s. Their island landscape mural, beach cottage decorations like a “let your dreams set sail” sign, and the cashier calling everyone “sweetheart” can’t help but soothe those who need a breather or low-key lunch. Get the robust garlic chicken if it’s one of their specials of the day, which are played on a TV behind the register. The mound of perfectly-crispy pieces have just the right balance of sweet and salty, and you’ll want to sop up the rest of the sauce with furikake rice. For a sampling of all their great meats, the BBQ trio plate will get you a little of the short rib, BBQ chicken, and teriyaki beef. On your way out, grab a couple of Spam musabis to sneak into the bars for a snack." - edward thompson, gabe bergado

Lefty-J’s Island Favorites now open | Eater Vegas

"A bright, casual counter-serve spot on the eastside welcomes guests with a large hand-painted island mural and signage saying “aloha and mabuhay,” serving a combined Hawaiian and Filipino menu from Twain Swenson Plaza. Owned by Jeanette Gruspe Battulayan and led by chef Lefty Battulayan (formerly of the Hard Rock Hotel), the kitchen offers Hawaiian plates with furikake rice and a side of mac salad, including chicken katsu paired with a signature dipping sauce, BBQ chicken kalbi, teriyaki beef, loco moco, and spam or hot dog musubi. Filipino options include chicken afritada, adobo, pinkabet and pancit, with plans to add authentic items such as poke bowls, flan, sari-sari goods, pork blood meat, and house-marinated grilled BBQ pork sticks. The location replaced a longtime donut shop at Twain and Swenson and operates daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m." - Bradley Martin

Friendly atmosphere, Local Hawaii vibes. Everything on the menu is good. Love their fried chicken and garlic chicken. Kalbi was nice and tender. Variety of hawaiian sun drinks available also.

Great island food, great variety! Hawaiian and filipino comfort foods for the soul. Highly recommend!! Missing island comfort foods, come check out this place. 🤤

Came here on a whim as we couldn't decide where to eat and it was the closest to our hotel. We were greeted by a friendly man who was very patient with us. We got the garlic chicken, beef short ribs, and kalua pork. Food is made to order so you can expect a reasonable wait - the food is very good. We would come back here again. Famous people have entered these door and said the same thing. You'll see their pictures on the table near the register giving the thumbs up. The establishment is roomy, clean, and the Aircon on blast. Enjoy!

Google
Delicious and fresh !! The best Mac salad! I got the Big body Cisco and could NOT eat it all. Very generous with portions!

Google
I ordered the garlic chicken and it was pretty damn good. The sauce is very unique and I appreciate how well fried and crispy it was. I’m not the kind of person that spends $20 on one meal very often, but the place is good. I will try the pork or the katsu chicken next time.

Google
We’re from Hawaii and this is ono local food!!! A bartender recommended this place and he was RIGHT!! We ordered the garlic chicken with short ribs and the trio and the food was cooked perfectly and marinated with care. I called them to thank them and they were super nice on the phone too! We highly recommend eating here and will eat here whenever we come to Las Vegas!!! No ka oi!!!!!

Google
Got the loco moco with eggs over easy, it was very good. The burger patty was home made. The garlic fried chicken is really good too! The kalbi was sorta chewy. Would definitely come back

Google
This place. Oh my gosh. THE BEST. It’s in a very unassuming location. I would not have thought the food was going to be as good as it was. I got the garlic chicken and it was the best chicken I have ever had. The rice was PERFECT as well. The only thing I didn’t love was the mac but my sister and her husband loved it. I still enjoyed. My brother in law was putting sauce on his chicken and I told him to stop because he needed to try without. The chicken itself had so much flavor it didn’t need sauce! I will be dreaming about this place until my next Vegas visit. Shoutout to Keith Lee for the rec. did not steer us wrong.

Yelp
Lefty-J's has been on my list for a loonngg time. After multiple Vegas trips, we found some time to check them out. Lefty-J's is located in a mini strip mall across from UNLV. Parking was easy for us since it was during the week. First impressions walking in the restaurant was it is spacious with a multitude of seating. Staff greeted us kindly and asked if it was our first time. He was very patient and friendly. He explained the Robust Garlic Chicken & Kalbi Beef Short Ribs are the most popular items. He explained the #25 Coach Bojay is a mix of both proteins and good option to try both. We decided to give it a go and order it. Most of the plate options run about $18-$25. We received our order within 10 minutes along with rack of hot sauces to choose from. Water is free and self serve. The box/plate had an aroma of flavor busting through the box. The smell was radiating. Opening the box and seeing the huge pieces of crispy breaded up chicken and marinated short ribs was intoxicating! It is paired with 2 scoops of rice and a side container of mac salad. We were given plates to share as well. The Coach Bojay plate was some of the best Hawaiian fusion plates I've ever had. Their garlicky crispy chicken was freaking good! Flavorful and crunchy!. The short ribs and its marinade was next level. This recommendation from the staff deserves an applause. We easily finished our food during this dine in. All I could say is I wish we stopped sooner over all these years. They are hyped up for a reason! This is easy 5/5 and easy recommendation to anyone visiting from California. Please go here and experience these plates of deliciousness! Mahalo/Salamat/Thanks, Lefty-J's! ( ^_^)b

Yelp
Ample parking, seating, and friendly service. Most importantly, food is delicious and filling. We ordered a half fried chicken and half loco mock plate and we loved every last bite. Definitely worth the trip if you're coming from the strip. Heck, it's worth it even if you're coming from Los Angeles

Yelp
Ever since watching Keith Lee, I wanted to try out Lefty-J's. The restaurant was set up take-out style: order at the front then wait for your food to arrive. The owner was friendly, always making sure to let us know that there would be a wait because everything is made to order. We eat Hawaiian food frequently because my dad is from Honolulu and my dad was really looking forward to visiting. The chicken was fried perfectly, with little to no oil residue. I thought the batter could use a little bit more seasoning as it was a bit light. Unfortunately the galbi was too tough and chewy, but it was seasoned well. The meat jun and the sauce was the best thing we tried. I did appreciate the large portions!! We only ordered 3 things and shared between my family of 4 and we were stuffed. Overall, it wasn't bad, but maybe we just tried the wrong things. We didn't order laulau, loco moco, or kalua pork so I'm not sure how authentic the flavors would be on more traditional Hawaiian dishes.

Yelp
Wow! First time here and the food was amazing! Everything on our plate was full of flavor and sooo good. Highlights include the garlic chicken and marinated beef. Just wow. We had a hard time choosing a dish for our first time and the staff took time to explain the options with a brief description of each item. Great customer service. Lastly, there are about 15 seats inside, plenty of space, and has a hawaiian type vibe.

Yelp
Ask your local CM for recommendations in your hometown and when you travel to other cities. Love my Houston CM Jandito. He truly is a wealth of information and great travel tips. For Vegas, he recommended a top rated Filipino-Hawaiian-Asian fusion restaurant. We ordered a variety of large plates, not knowing how much food would be served. They seriously have such huge portions. We packed our leftovers from lunch to go and enjoyed a nice snack later the same day. Ordered three plates for four. #1-The Teriyaki Chicken was so moist and delicious. Love the sauce. Delish! # 28 UNLV Rebels. Robust Garlic Chicken and Teriyaki Chicken. The Garlic Chicken is off the charts. So good. We could have had a plate of this. #26 Chicken Katsu and Ribeye Teriyaki Beef. The chicken was fresh and juicy served with a side of katsu sauce. The beef was a favorite with my family. All of the plates come with a generous serving of furikake rice and a side of macaroni salad. Even their cabbage salad was so good especially as it was coated with the garlic and teriyaki sauces. Located in a strip mall near the UNLV Campus, parking was easy during early August. Service was great, but it did take a while for the food to come out. I would add this to my list of off-the-strip local gems in Las Vegas. Thanks again for the tip, Jando. You are the best!!

Yelp
I've been to the Twain location several times, and decided to try the Maryland location. Located near UNLV in a strip mall, easy parking. The food was as amazing as usual. I had the Pork Adobo which is my usual and it was delicious. The pork is tender in a savory sauce/marinade. It reminds me of my Mom's Filipino cooking. It's a decent sized portion. The male who took our order was super friendly, I remember him from the other location. The restaurant is decorated casually with UNLV and Hawaiian vibes.

Yelp
As I was leaving Las Vegas, NV, I drove to a few restaurants that Steve, Rockstar Eater, recommended in one of his YouTube food episodes. Thanks Steve for the hidden gems! During my trip, I just didn't have the time to dine-in at any of them so I ordered take-out on my way out. Lefty-J's Island Favorites was the 1st out of the 4 restaurants I ordered for that day. I placed my order of the Hawaiian foods via online. After arriving, I still had to wait another 15 mins or so. They weren't super busy, but busy enough to be busy. Good amount of inside seating. Very cute Hawaiian themed decor. The young gentleman behind the counter who attended to the customers was very hospitable and nice. Thank you young man! I got the mini versions of their regular sized plates. Minis will be smaller. If you're on portion control, mini may be best. If you're hungry, get the regular size. 1. Chicken teriyaki mini - moist and tender chicken grilled to perfection, rice was perfectly portioned, mac n cheese was okay 2. Chicken katsu mini - katsu was lightly crispy on the outside and tenderly moist on the inside. YUM! Lefty J's is truly legit! Highly recommend and definitely I will be back to order their regular size and also try their other plates next time. Aloha!

Yelp
Menu is full of a variety of typical plate lunch proteins such as short ribs, chicken katsu, Teri beef, loco moco, spam, etc. and even has a couple choices of musubi. We got the "Fia Me Up" plate which came with meat jun, garlic chicken, rice and Mac salad and we got a mini chicken katsu plate. The meat jun was bland and the texture wasn't for me, almost ground meat-like. My white rice was a tad mushy and the Mac salad was a little on the sweet side, but the macaroni itself was cooked perfectly. The chicken katsu and spam musubi were decent. But the garlic chicken was solid- crispy, juicy, sweet and flavorful. Might have to get a straight up plate of that next time. The guy working the front was welcoming and helpful, I'm guessing that was the chef/owner. And they have a wide selection of cans of Hawaiian sun and other bottled/canned drinks. I'm curious about the other plates so I'll hopefully be back next time we're in town.

Yelp
My partner and I ordered the bbq trio to share. They provided us with plates since we were sharing which was a nice touch. There's also a water dispenser and cups to the side. There's ample seating but was pretty empty when we went for a late lunch/early dinner. The bbq trio was delicious. I normally don't like chicken because it's hard to keep it juicy but it was tender, juicy and flavorful here. The other meats were great as well.

Yelp
Edit: To address Chef Lefty's response to my review... My husband ordered a mini. My dish was only offered in one size. Your flavors were good, but not the best in the valley. You're also the only Hawaiian place where I had fatty pieces and a few pieces that were so dry I literally could not chew them. Here's a little tip: try expressing gratitude and humility when customers share their honest feedback. Take the criticism and learn from it. Your attitude is quite off-putting and because of that, we definitely won't be back now. I would much rather spend my hard earned money at dozens of other Hawaiian establishments than support a business that exudes such attitude toward any customer who isn't 100% satisfied. Tried Lefty-J's near UNLV a few weeks back after hearing all about it from our neighbors. The restaurant was clean with ample seating and some cute décor. We greatly appreciated how nice & cool it was inside; so many Hawaiian BBQ places are so hot inside that I lose my appetite so this was appreciated and pleasant. The cashier that day wasn't the friendliest and seemed a little annoyed that we didn't know what we wanted to order right away. He warmed up to us eventually by thanking us for coming in as we were leaving. For our meals, I had the Chicken Adobo #13. Most of the chicken was super moist & flavorful. I did have a few fatty pieces and one piece that was practically leather and couldn't be eaten. I'd say 90% of the chicken was edible though and good. My husband had the mini Ribeye Teriyaki Beef #4. He really liked how flavorful the beef was. The food was overall decent, but for the price, we've had Hawaiian food from other local spots that definitely give you a lot more food. The portions weren't bad here, but they were smaller than others. Honestly not a bad local spot, but I prefer a few other places over Lefty-J's.

Yelp
This was our mandatory 1st stop off the flight...the Aloha spirit is alive and well! Service is fantastic, talking stories came naturally and the food...OMG! Took us back to the islands. 100% recommend

Yelp
We traveled to Lefty J's with a craving for Hawaiian food and garlic chicken. Their combo plates were prepared perfectly! I ordered their popular bbq mix and garlic chicken combo meals. You must try their tender garlic chicken dish! It will leave you hungry for more delicious food. Excellent customer service. Keep up the Aloha spirit and Pinoy love! Would recommend family and friends to eat at this branch.

Yelp
When this garlic fried chicken is in my mouth I'm even more proud to be Asian. I want the invite to this family cookout. There's no pic bc I dug in too fast.

Yelp
Those short ribs omg! The rice cooked to perfection! The garlic chicken to die for. Stay away from the teriyaki beef though lol not my favorite. Besides that, the cook is for sure going to heaven :)

Yelp
today was my first time trying Lefty J's, i was recommended by my coworkers to try it. walking in i was greeted by a kind filipino man, he showed and explain to me the menu, they have a mix of hawaii local kine plates and they also serve filipino food too. i ordered 2 plates. the mini teriyaki chicken ($14) had 1 scoop of rice with furikake, 1 scoop of mac salad and a small piece of grilled marinated chicken over a shred of cabbage. and my 2nd plate was a regular size fried chicken cutlet with gravy ($18) 2 scoops of rice with furikake, and 1 scoop of mac salad. there's a ton a seating area and subtle music playing in the restaurant. overall food was okay but pricey, in the near future i would like to try more of their bbq meats.

Yelp
Lefty J's is my new favorite place to get my Hawaiian fix! You order at the counter and they bring the food at your table. There are water cups on the side but don't skip trying the Hawaiian Sun drinks! Lilikoi Lychee is my favorite - yes, it has lots of sugar but when in Vegas, right? My husband and I chose to share the pick two beef option. I had the Loco Moco which is a hamburger patty with gravy and eggs, and he had the Kalbi Beef Short Ribs. Our meal came with rice and a side of macaroni salad. Just enough for our appetite. Good chill vibe and there's constant music playing. If I lived here, I can honestly see myself eating here almost everyday lol Tip: ask for the bathroom key up front. Bathroom for customers is located in the back.

Yelp

Yelp
Bruh!!!!!! "Wao, ua maika'i loa!" That was outstanding on all levels!! Parking here is super easy! It shares a lot with Chipotle and various other little shops... This place is absolutely spotless clean! The food, the service the recommendations everything 10/10!!! To see this is someplace that you should definitely try is a understatement. I almost considered gatekeeping this place because it's so good.!!!! I will absolutely be back here again and again and again and again outstanding food outstanding service!!! But especially... Outstanding food the flavors were absolutely spot on! Great job team!!

Yelp
Needing food after a Southwest flight (pretzels and Oreos are nice but not filling,) I ended up here. Partly because Lefty was my high school nickname. Already love Hawaiian food, so it sounded good. In a strip mall, pretty small. Friendly service, and a steady stream so I knew it was popular. Interesting menu, I picked almost at random because it all sounded so good. I got the Kahlua pork, basically shredded pork with fairly mild seasonings, over lightly seasoned rice. A huge portion, and super tasty. I ate half there, and snacked on the rest at my hotel for two days. Also got spam musubi. This one was a little different than I'm used to, rolled all the way up. Very tasty. Also got a canned Hawaiian juice, forget the flavor. Satisfying, filling, flavorful. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
The food here was ok. I had gotten the local moco and we got it door dashed to us because it was hot outside and ain't nobody wants to go out in that heat just to pick up food. There was a lot of gravy. One might even say too much gravy on the one plate. And the fact that it costed $22 for just my one dish should be considered highway robbery! I gave this place an additional star because I like Mac salad when there's carrots in it, doesn't make me feel like all I ate was meat and carbs! My friends also said the chicken was too sweet and in the end we all mostly tossed the food away. Would not recommend this as authentic "Hawaiian food" next time we will be getting food from zippy's instead! And how come the owner had to come on here and get my profile all mixed up? I'm not a Yelp elite anymore! Bruh get your facts right!
google avatar

Marissa M.

Yelp
Took a $25 cab ride to come here from The Venetian. Saw that this place is recommended by the Tik Tok foodie Keith Lee, super cool! Everything was good! Service great, lots of seating and a clean washroom for customers (always a plus hehe). I ordered the teriyaki chicken and beef teriyaki. I asked if it was possible to have the sauce on the side as I didn't want anything too sweet, but was told that it already comes on it so I ordered as is. My husband got the kalua pork and fried chicken. My chicken teriyaki was very yummy, perfect char, not too sweet, good portion and pretty tender and juicy. The beef teriyaki was waaaay too sweet for me, lol. I'm sweet enough so don't need much ;) I couldn't finish it all as I'm trying to limit my sugar. I think if I went back I would get a sweet/savory combo instead of just sweet on sweet. The beef was swimming in the sweet sauce that had collected at the bottom. Was nice on the rice tho. The cabbage helped to cut the sweetness a bit and add a nice crunch. The little bite I had of my husband's kalua pork was good and the fried chicken had a nice crunch, great taste and juicy inside. Curious about the adobo, maybe next time!

Yelp
Lefty-J's did not disappoint. After a long 4 hr drive my family and I were starving. We wanted to grab something semi quick before heading to Area15. I ordered a Regular Chicken Katsu plate between my daughter, wife, and I. It was more than enough. We were stuffed! I love that they meal was made to order and hot. I could see why it took 15-20 minutes. It's worth the wait. They also provided us various sauces to add to our plate. Lefty's was very clean overall, and provided complimentary water. The customer service was great, and he was building some great rapport with us which I really appreciate. Getting to know your customers local or not is something not everyone does now. I would recommend Lefty-J's to family and friends, and expect to be back in the future.

Yelp
Lefty J's Island Favorites has a new location on Maryland and Harmon. You'll find them at Rebel's Running Plaza. There's plenty of parking. Inside is spacious with ample seating and awesome music. Menu offers a nice selection of Island Favorites such as chicken katsu, kalua pork, kalbi beef short ribs, and Filipino food. I had Pinakbet ($9.95) with sautéed eggplant, okra, green beans, garlic, and tomatoes served with two scoops of steamed rice. They give generous portion, food is delivered hot and freshly cooked! Mac Salad ($2.95) is tasty and Hot Dog Musubi ($3.25) is yummy! Service from Maka is welcoming, polite, and friendly.

Yelp
This is was first time visiting and it definitely won't be our last. The customer service was beyond amazing!!!! You are treated like family. Lefty came out to see how we like our food. Explained all about where he's from and his family. It's truly the island experience! The feeling is like being back home in Hawaii. The food was truly outstanding! I can't say enough good things about it!!!!! We went there of their recommendation and it hit on point! We had the mixed plate. Which came with Kalbi short ribs, Shoyu Chicken, and teriyaki beef. We also got the Kalbi Short Rib & Garlic Chicken. I highly recommend it!!!

Yelp
I recently tried Pancit for the first time when a coworker brought it in and I instantly became obsessed. Was having the craving after work and was lucky enough to find this place not too far away. The guy who I'm assuming is the owner was very friendly, asked how my day was and was very personable. Inside was small but had plenty of seating and was very clean. I took it to go and oooof, this was literally addictive. I was only planning on eating half but devoured it . Spam musubi was really great too, you can tell the spam was cooked right . Will definitely be back to try their chicken dishes!
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Ordered the Garlic Chicken and it had some pretty bold flavors, but a little too saucy for me and I did not get much garlic flavor at all. It was very hot in the restaurant, so we got our food to go. Cashier was friendly, but I took a star because they did not have ice for my drink. Also, the cook didn't receive our order for some reason, so we had to wait an extra long time for our food. Decent portion of food for $20, probably will not be back for more. Located across the street from UNLV, prices seem high to be across the street from the college.

Yelp
YUMMY!!! Picked up my parents from the airport and wanted to find a spot close by and I'm glad we decided to give this place a try! My parents shared the two item combo and got pork adobo and pinakbet! My dad is super picky but he really enjoyed both dishes and when he's happy ... I'm happy! They definitely want to go back on their next visit. My husband and I shared the 3 item BBQ combo and it was super delish!!! Loved their BBQ marinated... we also tried their spam musubi I can't wait to go back and try other items! Next time, I'm not sharing ... hehehe Also, they offer great customer service! The cashier was super nice and a lady, I assumed she might have been the owner, went to our table to check on things oh and when we left, the cashier said bye and referred to me by name which I was totally impressed
google avatar

Mary H.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this spot as it was recommended by my sister I have to say I wasn't impressed based on the glowing reviews on Yelp and from Instagram posts. I got the combo plate of Garlic chicken and Kalbi ribs. The ribs had a good flavor but were tough. The chicken was just oily and not very crispy. The rice was very very mushy Customer service was great at this location.

Yelp
Oh my sweet goodness, Lefty J's! How we have missed the establishment and this delicious food. Luckily when we walked in their NEW location on Maryland and were able to take in their second location. What an achievement for this family! If you know Lefty's then you know this is a family owned, local business that closes Sunday to dedicate it to their family. What's more precious than that? At first Lefty asked if we'd visited there before then we closed the door and he immediately recognized us, which is great. When you have a business that's doing phenomenal like them it feels good to know the owner is welcoming you back after a hiatus! We caught up, asked how the family and business are, and ordered our usual. Two orders of garlic chicken, with 2 sides of Mac salad, and a 1/2 order of chicken katsu. Business was a little slow when we walked in, but when we sat and waited for our food we started seeing more customers walk in. Our food came out, and man how we missed it. Garlic chicken with furikake rice? Awesome as always! Chicken katsu, fresh, juicy, and the katsu sauce was amazing. Our Mac salad was off the charts. We hadn't had Lefty's and to come back with a warm welcome, friendly smile and too notch service reminded us why we keep coming back! If you're craving Hawaiian or Filipino food, Lefty's is the place. Their food has so much love, it's delicious and it's a treat deal for the price you pay! But the place is still hopping! The restaurant is clean, music is playing, and staff is amazing!

Yelp
Lefty J's is a must-visit comfort Hawaiian and Filipino spot in Vegas that's been endorsed by Keith Lee. Known for their Hawaiian plates pakced with your combo of protein, furikake rice, and mac salad, this is the place to go for comfort Hawaiian food. I wanted to try all their options, so I went all out for their sampler platter, which was the Famous Five Star. It was loaded with kalbi, katsu, crispy fried chicken, teriyaki chicken, and teriyaki beef. Every bite I took was rich and hearty, the meats were juicy and the mac salad was the cherry on top.

Yelp
Over price 2 choice plate lunch. $27 dollars and some loose change ‍ and the plate wasn't stacked. Plate was mediocre. Mac salad babogum and kalbi rib was okay. Won't be going back

Yelp
Love this place! This is our 2nd time here. My husband and I try to come here every time we're in Vegas! We even met chef lefty! We love their fried chicken and everything else! It's definitely good comfort food. We love the Hawaii vibes inside and the good island /reggae music.

Yelp
Finally made it back to Vegas and first meal had to be lefty-j's! I've been craving the garlic chicken for far too long and it did not miss!! Always amazing service, amazing grub and a happy belly when you're at lefty-j's!

Yelp
Holy moly. If you're in Vegas, you should definitely stop here. Lefty-J's was my favorite meal of my whole trip to Vegas. Their Mac Salad alone was enough to send me over the edge. I really enjoyed the Kalbi was so yummy too. My partner got the garlic honey chicken and it was all so good. I did the BBQ trio and I was not disappointed! The portions were so large too, so it felt like great value for the money too. I wish we could have come back here every day. The location would be easy to miss just driving down the road, but it is worth stopping in. I love that it's very low key though. The decorations are lovely and the staff if helpful. It isn't super fine dining, but I wouldn't want it to be either. I will be back every time I come to Vegas!

Yelp
Thanks to Yelp for this gem! We around closing time at 7:30pm. Last Dine in was at 7pm. Good to go before 7pm. A young gentlemen took our order and he was so informational about the menu and what was popular. Ordered Spam Musubi, Fia Me Up, Robust Garlic Chicken and Kalbi Beef and Garlic Chicken. Noms gummy worms. The flavors were amazing in my mouth especially the garlic chicken 9/10. Mac salad was good I give it a 8/10. Kalbi Beef 10/10. Musubi 7/10. Food is highly recommended!!! So yummy. The venue was neat, clean and organized. Loved the videos playing with hula dancing and the Keith Lee Tiktok. Love the Hawaiian Flags. The place is very well kept.

Yelp
Have to stop by every time we're in Vegas. If you are tired of all the fancy expensive meals on the strip or just looking for some comforting food, come here. The Garlic Chicken and Mochiko Chicken are so good. Kalbi, Beef and Chicken teriyaki are also solid picks. Service is always excellent. Door Dashed our order this trip. Food arrived pretty quickly, still warm, chicken crispy and for a big order, nothing was missing. Highly recommended.

Yelp
We went to this place with zero expectations, because I honestly don't think I've ever had bad Hawaiian food. And was I right! This place hits the right spots! The short ribs are perfect and the garlic chicken, as recommended by the cashier was one of the better chicken dishes I've tasted. This will definitely be a part of my Vegas spots to go again on my future trips! Staff were very friendly and checked on us a few times as we were eating. I would totally rock merch if y'all had it!

Yelp
I have tried Lau pork and loco moco from Hawaii and this is nowhere as good Loco moco was over cooked and did not have much gravy on it. Lacked flavor! Updating my above review due to managers unbelievable response to my review: So unfortunately I have to come back here to give an even worse review (taking one star away) for the business owners poor response to me, a customers opinion. First of, business owners should be able to understand if a customer orders or says lua pork. Not respond with "what is lua pork". Typical great customer service would say "sorry do you mean Kalua pork"? Plus this is something shown on the picture I have uploaded. Are you not able to tell what I meant based on your own food that I uploaded here on the picture ? Yes I said there's not much gravy on my loco moco. I am not sure what you can't understand. Can't you see the minimal amount of gravy on my plate ? Second, this is yelp where customers are freely able to give opinions on the restaurant and typically the restaurant usually should take these opinions of others to better their restaurant and not be offended or respond to customers in a rude manner. Also I read through some of the business owners response to others. Pretty sad to see the business owner also respond to others who give a poor rating in a rude manner also: telling them they should remove themselves from being yelp elite or responding by saying if they have ever ate at a restaurant before. I really hope he learns how to take criticism well when being in a customer service business.

Yelp
Lefty j's hits A's all across the board. Walking in I was greeted by a vibrant atmosphere with greenery and neon lights that puts a pop to the place. Maka was behind the register and provided great service. Maka was friendly and had plenty of suggestions of what to get. When I received the food I was shocked by the plentiful portion. I felt like I was really getting what I paid for plus more. The Loco Moco was filled with a pool of delicious gravy! If I tripped I probably could've drowned in the gravy, they definitely didn't hold back. All the components of the dish were well seasoned and compliments each other in the dish. In a city filled with many of Hawaiian spots, Lefty J's stands out and is a local gem.

Yelp
Flavorful and delicious Hawaiian-Filipino food in Vegas!! I randomly found this place on Yelp and I'm so glad we tried it out. They have a lot of Hawaiian and Filipino classic dishes on their menu. It was our first time here, and the staff is so friendly and helpful. You could feel the aloha and family vibes of this place. We tried their Robust Garlic Chicken and Kalbi Beef Short Ribs. The food came out hot and steaming, so we knew it was freshly made. Both meats were amazing. The chicken was so crispy, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. The ribs were marinated nicely and had so much flavor. Each plate comes with two scoops of rice and a side of mac salad, which was tasty as well. Overall, I would definitely come back when in Vegas! Amazing, authentic food and friendly, fast service, and portions are great!!

Yelp
I ordered a two entree combination plate. The Teri beef and robust garlic chicken was cooked perfectly. The plate lunch was served with white rice and macaroni salad. Upon walking in, I was greeted with aloha. Since it was my first time, I asked for a little more time to decide what I will have for lunch. The dining area was clean and had adequate area for different party sizes. Mahalo Lefty, I'll be back! Can't wait to try your mochico chicken!

Yelp
Had lunch where on Thursday and it was amazing. Can't wait to go back and try some other items. I had the Kalbi and garlic chicken plate. The star of the show was the crispy garlic chicken. This was one of the best things I have eaten here in Las Vegas. The chicken thigh was super crispy and covered in an amazing garlic sauce with fresh chopped garlic! The chicken was hot and juicy. The Kalbi was also very good covered in teriyaki sauce. Tender short ribs cooked perfectly. I will be back. UNLV student get a 10% discount. The service was amazing she checked in on me several times to make sure I didn't need anything. Very cool Hawaiian feel to the place.

Yelp
Last call for dine in is 7pm. Wednesday 4pm. Service: no wait towards the end of the night. There is a small fee for using credit card. But it's about 15 -20 min wait for the JJ fried chicken though. Head ups there. Lefty was the owner. He was really cool about striking up conversation while I was waiting for my food. Ambiance: def Hawaiian vibes. Lots of green. Big tables to bring families of four or more. Food: I got it to go, so I brought it home to eat. I got the JJs fried chicken number #6. I just got home and finished the meal. The portions were amazing on the chicken side. Was very filling but not greasy at all. When I was talking to Left he said he usues rice flower to make the skin of the chicken. Fanastic. I highly recommend this spot.

Yelp
Great food, great/friendly service, the portion is big you could share with 2 people at least. Tons of parking. I'll keep coming back here

Yelp
One of my go-to's for Hawaiian food when I'm in Vegas! Their customer service is great, everyone is always super nice. Food is always great. My favorite item is the lefty j's fried chicken, it's super crunchy & delicious. Their Kalua pork is flavorful as well. Love that they offer combos so you can have 2 different proteins.

Yelp
This was our first stop right after getting off the plane and it didn't disappoint!! We got the mega plate and that fed my bf and I twice. It came with chicken nasty, fried chicken, bbq short rib, and steak. We basically got almost one of each meat to not miss out on anything and it did not disappointment! The shop itself is small and cute. There's plenty of parking and will definitely be back!
