"Union Station, which hasn’t had a new upscale dining option in years, welcomed the addition of Legal Sea Bar over the weekend. Legal Sea Foods’ new 2,000-square-foot airy restaurant, positioned on the mezzanine level of the transit hub (50 Massachusetts Avenue NE), is anchored by a central 31-seat bar. Another 32 can pack into the space via high-top tables. The colorful sit-down entrant offers a shortened version of Legal Sea Foods’ menu, with chowders, coconut shrimp, salads, sandwiches, seared salmon, poke bowls, and crab cakes in the mix. Lunch and dinner menu items run $7.95 to $17.50 for appetizers and $8.50 to $31.95 for entrées. Grizform Design Architects handled the nautical-inspired design, integrating European oak, leather furniture, and stainless steel throughout. A wall of layered zinc tiles that resemble fish scales breaks up the space. For booze, there’s six beers on draft and 10 bottles, as well as a dozen wines by the glass ($9.50 to $12.75) and bottle ($31 to $52). Seasonal cocktails ($10 to $12) include the Sea Bar Sangria with Spanish red wine, raspberry, and citrus rums and the Gin-Gin Mule with St. George gin, mint, lime, and ginger beer. Legal Sea Bar’s hours are Monday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m." - Tierney Plumb

While on my way to NYC I stopped by Leagal Sea Bar for lunch. I was not feeling that weel so did not partake in happy hour (which had good specials). I ordered a clam chowder soup and a Crab Cake sandwich. Service was just right and food was good.

Good spot, nice decent drinks, meals, and appetizers. I enjoyed my happy hour. However, the Service could be better. The waitresses could use little more serving etiquette. She was literally slamming everything she placed on the table.

Legal See is without a doubt my favorite place to get drinks in Union Station, but we have a bit of a love-hate relationship. The Love-Hate Breakdown: -Service is always meh, so I dont tip that well, but they really dont seem to mind. -Drinks are pretty expensive, but I love that they have Alagash White and DC Brau Public Ale on draft -Drink selection is pretty limited but they do have both beer and wine by the glass. I once ordered some sashimi, and it was pretty good! Decor: upscale. Patrons: Legal See attracts a pretty trendy crowd. Overall: a great place to kill some time waiting on a train, or delaying your trip home ...because you just want to.

Excellent bar. They have a row of outlets and usb ports under the bar so you can grab a beer and charge your phone at the same time.

The staff was very friendly and took good care of us. We had clam chowder, crab cakes, salmon, fish & chips, and the house sangria. It was all very good. There were five of us and this, as the name implies, is much more of an open-air bar instead of a restaurant, so they had to put two small tables together for us outside the main bar area where you feel a little secluded. I wish they had some seating for larger parties wanting to have a sit-down meal together, which is why I only gave it four stars. I still highly recommend it though.

Stopped by to have a few drinks with a friend. Drinks were HORRIBLE! A simple pomegranate lemon drop was premade and tasted nothing but juice. Patron margarita...the most disgusting margarita I've ever had. Tasted of pure sour mix that was nothing near fresh. I've worked in bar management for over 5 years and was fathom by how they treat the quality of their drinks. Will not be back and will not recommend. I live only a few blocks from union. Disappointed!

On point service, attention to detail. Warm friendly staff, great food. The best in Union station for nice sit down quick meal before or after the train. The host and server were the best service we've had in a long time!

Great service. Only had drinks before my train. Great cocktails and small but quality wine list. See the food that was ordered by the guy next to me at the bar. Looked delicious. Will definitely get food next time I am there
