"We usually wouldn’t recommend a chain with a location at Logan, but the flagship Legal’s would be worth going to for its location alone. It’s in a big, three-story building that sits directly on the water, with a roof deck where you can stare out at the harbor islands (a slightly better view than acres of tarmac and a Hudson News kiosk). Plus, every floor has its own menu, giving you a more exciting Legal’s experience than you get elsewhere. You can still get the classics like the lobster roll and the chowder you’ve already had 826 times in your life, but now you can also opt for some sushi on the casual roof deck, steaks and poached lobster on the white tablecloth second floor, or fried clams downstairs." - tanya edwards, grace kelly
"This place is a tourist trap and an amusement park disguised as a seafood restaurant — but the chowder, which has been on many presidential inaugural menus dating back to 1981, is still hard to pass up." - Erika Adams
"Eating and drinking by the water should be one of our god-given rights as Bostonians. But we actually have relatively few places to do that, thanks to a half-century of bad urban planning when the city’s leaders must have been afraid of pirates or something. The roof deck at the flagship Legal’s in the Seaport is frequently crowded because it’s unquestionably one of the best places to eat while also smelling the salt air. You can get a few of the Legal’s standards up there, but mostly it’s a solid sushi and raw bar menu, so head up there and reclaim what’s rightfully yours." - dan secatore
"Yes, Legal Sea Foods is a chain, and yes, you’ve probably already had the chowder hundreds of times in your life. But sometimes places become institutions for good reasons. And at the flagship Legal Harborside in the Seaport, you can at least be sure that you’re not getting the same Legal’s experience you’d find at locations in malls up and down the East Coast. This place has three different levels, each with their own menus. If you have guests in town, the rooftop has some of the best views in the city." - dan secatore
"You may be tempted to swan dive into the harbor from the roof of Legal’s in the Seaport. That’s illegal, dangerous, and gross, so you shouldn’t do it, but nevertheless, that’s how close you are to the water here. The menu features a couple of Legal’s standards like the chowder and lobster roll, but is mostly focused on some decent sushi rolls to go along with raw bar items." - joel ang, dan secatore
