Look no further for excellent dim sum and Chinese food! They're located in Chinatown at the corner of Beretania & Maunakea Streets. We always park in the garage of the Chinatown Cultural Plaza, and they do validate. ATMOSPHERE: Its your typical Chinese restaurant; big 10-seat tables and flexible 2-seaters, with the bling chandelier in the middle. When you enter, it sounds like a hen house lol! Big windows offer views of people walking along the river. We usually do dim sum, but you can also order off the main menu. FOOD: Steamed Look Funn Ahh, this is my favorite dish here. We usually order them with shrimp, and there are other stuffings available. The four, bright white burrito-shaped noodles were soft and doused with soy sauce that runs effortlessly off the silky smooth exterior. Chicken Feet A favorite of mine since I was a tyke. The four feet were super tender and done in a salt & pepper seasoning. I have yet to see my friends and spouse try this. It's not bad at all!? It's sort of like eating chicken skin with a little bit of cartilage. Highly recommended! Pork Hash Three good sized pieces came in the steamer, in yellow wrappers and tender pork filled to the brim. Choy Sum The bright green stalks & leaves were steamed perfect and drizzled with oyster sauce. Pan Fried Noodles Several toppings are available, and we went with boneless chicken. It's really deep fried crispy noodles topped with a mild gravy sauce and choi sum. Heavenly... Dumplings I'm not sure what they're called exactly, but the three huge dumplings were fully stuffed with savory ground pork, green onions, and peanuts. Very good. Pan Fried Noodle with Minute Chicken This was the dish I was wanting to try at LHF, so I was ecstatic to find it here. First off, it's a huge portion. The noodles are of the crispy variety that you find in Thai and Vietnamese restaurants, though I was hoping for cake noodles. Unfortunately, the noodle to chicken ratio was very lopsided at about 10:3. Way too much noodles, not enough chicken and choi sum toppings. The chicken strips were tender but lightly seasoned which was another disappointment. The sauce was also very subtle in the flavor department and didn't give this dish any life. Bland dish... Pass. Custard Tart If you love custard, you'll absolutely ADORE these. The eggy filling marries so well with the flaky crust. Holy geezuz. Get the large with four pieces!!!! SERVICE: Its gotten better over the years, not as forceful or pushy. Some of the servers accents are so heavy, its difficult to understand what you're ordering sometimes. OVERALL: Excellent Chinese food!

The place is a bit run-down, and the A/C could definitely be better, it felt a little stuffy inside. Service was on the slower side for dim sum today. The baked goods cart sat unattended for 10–15 minutes, which was disappointing, though the other carts were circulating pretty efficiently. Food-wise, it was a mixed bag. The shrimp shumai had good flavor, but the wrapper was a little rubbery. The baked manapua had an unusual sour taste today that didn’t sit right. On the bright side, the taro puffs were excellent, and the xiao long bao were solid, especially with the red vinegar sauce they served on the side. Prices are a little on the higher side, and honestly, I’m not sure it was worth it for the overall experience. Not sure if I’ll be back.

Google
The staff welcomed us very well and asked us what we wanted the most. The food was tasty and we felt that they were trying to make it taste good. The price was reasonable for the quality of the food.

Had a private room. Staff was friendly. Food not as good as back home, but still good. Decent price for large group.

Google
Our go-to dim sum place. Great service and prices. They're constantly circling the floor with the carts, but be sure to ask for the dim sum menu because they only have the most popular items on them. Great dinner menu also! Quick service and huge family style portions.

Google
Nice dim sum experience. However I would make sure to order one dim sum serving instead of two even though we had a large party. We ended up taking home lots of leftovers. Food is delicious, served hot or made to order. I would visit this establishment again.

Google
Went searching for a good Dim Sum place in Oahu - wouldn't you know it, there's a TON of them, especially in Chinatown. This place didn't disappoint. food was quick to come out, service was excellent, and our measure of good Dim Sum is always how fall off the bone is the chicken feet, and how flavorful. if you perfect this very finicky dim sum dish, you know the rest is golden. RESULT: chicken feet is ON POINT.

Google
Nice place for dim sum! We came her to kill some time before our flight back home and the servers were very nice. Prices are fair, a bit on the higher end, but not terrible. Food was great.

Yelp
We were a big group of more than 15 people eating here. We were surprised that they have the dim sums since early in the day. The staff was always bringing different options, so we always had something on the table. There was a moment that they started adding orders to our table that we didn't ask for. When we noticed that, we immediately asked them to take them away, and they did without problem. The taste of most of them were great, especially the shrimp and pork dumplings. However, I was not a big fan of the chicken.

Yelp
Dim sum in the middle of studying for the CPA exam was my lifeline. Went with my bf on a busy Saturday afternoon. Because we havent been out to dim sum in a while, we ordered the whole kitchen. A+ Hard hitters include: * Xiao long bao - flavorful soup in super cute cups! * pork hash - juicy, meaty, and fresh when we got it. Just had to get two orders * egg tarts - flaky, buttery crust, with a custard that isnt too sweet * Taro puff - filling. Heavily enjoy the crispy exterior * Char siu bao - typically i avoid this because the bun is just too damn much, but this time around, the bun was steamy and soft! We got it when at peak freshness Pretty good includes: * Hargow - standard, it was solid * Turnip cake - not our thing, tried something new, hella filling. Wouldn't get it again but it was good * Shrimp rice noodle - similar to hargow, solid. Not a fan: * Jook - i prefer my jook with more solid rice bits, it was a bit too smooth and bland for me Price was EXCELLENT! We were stuffed and walking out the door with a lunch plate full of leftovers. We paid $61 excluding tip. A lot cheaper than other places, especially one the rhymes with dade jynasty. 'Nuff said. Service is good, but hectic. They get what you ask for right away, but its hard to flag someone down because everyone is running around pushing a cart of food. Also, we had to wait a bit for stuff that we wanted (i.e. pork hash) Parking is located in the chinese cultural plaza. Reasonable price to pay, and i like that the restaurant is in the plaza. Easily one of my favorite places to get dim sum. quality food, decent service, easy + reasonable parking, and WORTH THE PRICE! Food: 4/5 Price: 4.5/5 Service: 3/5 Parking: 4/5 Overall: 3.75/5

Yelp
Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Portion to Price: 3/5 Overall: Pretty standard for dimsum The extended review... Food: 3/5 - We got multiple things and all things tasted pretty standard. Service: 3/5 - Standard service. Ambiance: 3/5 - Standard ambiance for a true Chinese place. Portion to Price: 3/5 - Pretty standard pricing.

Yelp
Seafood Legend Restaurant offers some of the best dim sum I've ever had. The service is consistently excellent--friendly, efficient, and attentive. On this visit, I wasn't sure what to order, but fortunately, my mom and family knew exactly what to choose, and everything was absolutely delicious. This restaurant has become a family favorite, and it's a must-visit every time I'm on Oahu. It never disappoints and continues to exceed expectations with both food and service.

Yelp
My boyfriend has been wanting to try out Legend Seafood for dim sum after being recommended to it and well, although it won't be on my top list for dim sum recs, it was still decent and affordable. The service was inattentive and after the carts visited the first time, they didn't seem to come back and skipped us so we had to flag them down for our second round. It was disappointing as we would have ordered more if they would have been more attentive. The dim sum was decent, although some items were cold or overcooked. The shumai and lotus rice were my favorite things that we ordered. On my walk to the restaurant I saw some other well known dim sum spots closed that day so maybe it made them extra busy? I wasn't expecting it to be empty on a Sunday brunch time but the ambiance just felt extremely chaotic and so much going on around us while seated. With that being said, would we go back from dim sum? Most likely not. However, we would still go back and give them another shot for the regular dinner service menu.

Yelp
Good dim sum. If you can, go early, before 11:00 AM to miss the lunch crowd! Mochi rice, har gau, spare ribs, book tripe, fried shrimp/ nori roll, chicken feet, custard bun ... just about everything is yum and brought to you on those rolling carts! Sometimes the servers may come around with certain dishes 'fresh off the steamer' that may not be on those carts (or maybe they are but didn't fit? idk...) Usually got ample parking in the Chinese Cultural Center structure right off Mauna Kea Street, but during the lunchtime rush, you might end up parking on the higher levels. Parking payment is pretty quick, scan the ticket barcode and swipe your credit card at the kiosk on the first or 2nd floor, and it's all done in 30 - 45 seconds! All in all, this place continue to remain on my dim sum short list in Chinatown!

Yelp
came at the tail end of closing. Should go early if you want more cart options Still was able to get majority of the classics -turnip cake - quite decent and pan friend enough to be crunchy on the outside -recommend* bbq pork bun - was not as expected -more air and not much char-siu inside sticky rice - 2 pieces - was also good and delicious * between 2 people - costing about $20 per person older interior for sure Haven't tasted the other options here to compare quality Ok to come check out

Yelp
I haven't been here in years, since it got sold to new owners. We recently hosted two tables of the 10 course dinners. We actually did this for lunch. We also switched out some of the dishes for an uncharge. We went with the Joyful Dinner $318 per table. It came with Chinese Chicken Salad with Jelly Fish, Seafood Tofu Soup, House Roast Duck, Honey Walnut Shrimp, Deep Fried Pork Chop with Pepper Salt, Stir Fried Fish Fillet with Veggies, Stir Fried Seasonal Veggies with Garlic, Young Chow Fried Rice, and Almond Tofu for dessert. We switched out two of the items. Instead of the Pepper Salt Pork Chops, we got the Capital Pork Chops. We also subbed out the Young Chow fried rice for the Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice. It was $325 instead of $318. We had made reservations and pre-ordered the week before. On the day of the lunch, the tables were ready when we got there. The seating was a little tight though. Since we had pre-ordered, the food came out really fast. We could barely keep up. We were beginning on one dish and another would be coming out of the kitchen. Majority of the dishes were excellent. Everyone agreed that the duck was the best dish of the day. The skin was crisp and had the right seasoning. The walnut shrimp was also very good. We had a great time. I would definitely come back. I want to try their dim sum menu the next time I'm here.

Yelp
Legend was never our first choice for dim sum but sometimes we just stop by when we are in the area. Food was usually acceptable but when we went again today for CNY meal and it was really disappointing. Ordered about 8 or 9 dim sum. - Har gow and the shrimp look funs are usually pretty safe but the shrimps were not fresh. - taro cake was not cooked thoroughly it was still a bit raw. Turnip cake was very salty. - chicken feet did not have enough seasonings so the chicken taste was very strong. -fried puff had a strand of hair in it. Although the food was disappointing, service was always good the aunties were always nice to us. It was also cheaper compared to other dim sum restaurants.

Yelp
Legends is an old Honolulu dim sum standby. It's generally consistently good and you can get a table in a reasonable amount of time. Service is mostly good but it can be a little chaotic with the food carts. I still enjoy the food carts, even if you have to wait for what you want to come by. Favorites are shrimp with chive pan fried dumplings, char siu bao, lo mai gai, lo bak goh, and minute chicken fried noodles. You can't really go wrong with whatever you order. Glad it's still open after all this time and hope it continues to stay open!

Yelp
Finally get to try it because it's always crowded around lunch time during weekends! We went on a Sunday around 9:30am and there's no wait, but around 10:30 to 11, the place got more and more packed, so that gives you an idea what time to arrive to avoid crowds! Their steamed items like chicken feet, spinach dumplings and shumai were quite good. I also liked their pan fried chive and shrimp cakes. However their deep fried stuff were not as fresh as I hoped, probably coz they were in cart for a little bit, not freshly cooked from the kitchen - that's why I normally prefer ordering dim sum with the paper than with the carts nowadays for the freshness of food. Service was friendly. The ladies really tried to get the items that we wanted, even if they had to order directly from the kitchen - that's great! Overall I'd say it's a solid 4 stars. It's decent and I wouldn't mind coming back. If you haven't tried it, give it a shot!

Yelp
Decent old school chinese food on the edge of Chinatown. Lunch crowd is almost exclusively locals who look like they've been coming here for years. The restaurant is large with little ambience but the food is good. I would recommend skipping the dim sum, which was okay, but the traditional dishes are far better. Since we had been eating around Chinatown all morning prior to arriving, we only had room for one more dish after trying a few of the dim sum options - the mixed seafood chow mein. The portion size was enormous. The seafood was fresh and varied. The thin noodles were perfect and there was ample gravy. I see why the locals keep coming back. Service is efficient and minimally friendly, which was just fine. I would definitely return and especially get takeout.

Yelp
We made it back to Honolulu, and on our must do list was a return trip to Legends Restaurant. Like every time we visit, every table was taken, and there was a line out the door. However, the place is big, the service efficient, and the line moves quickly. Like many, we pre-judge a restaurant by the crowd. This place is a local favorite. It's busy, it's noisy, it's frenetic - all in a good way. We are drawn to hole in the wall restaurants and this unassuming, tucked away in the corner of the Chinatown Cultural Plaza, fits the bill. Its decor is exactly what you would expect and hope for. Now that you have a feel for the ambiance, let get down to the food which is excellent. The dim sum menu at Legends is extensive, boasting a wide array of tried and true creations. From the classic har gow, steamed pork buns, and shrimp dumplings, to some more adventurous options, there's something for every appetite. As trolley after trolley comes by you have to be careful not to over order. There's also a formidable ala carte menu. A particular favorite of ours is the ginger rice. That by itself brought us back. Honolulu, and Oahu overall, has plenty of food options. There's definitely fancier choices, but Legends will not disappoint.

Yelp
I've been coming here for over 30 years. We came here for a family luncheon. It is still good, but some of the taste was a little salty. It seems like their chef has changed. The look fun sauce used to be sweeter, but it was mostly shoyu. The jook was a little bland. The other dishes: chive dumplings, siu mai, baked char siu were okay.

Yelp
Sorry never like to bash a business. I think they were extra busy because Fook Lam is closed for the month of April. I understand that it's hard to get staffing these days, but maybe they should close off a potion of the restaurant to be more manageable. They filled all the tables. We ordered one basket of pork hash and then never saw the cart again for 25 minutes. The carts were empty and when food came out, they could not make it around the restaurant. And they were still trying to stuff more people in. I understand and hope it's just due the temporary closure of Fook Lam. Unfortunately we ended up leaving as did not see a cart coming our way soon. The one item we did have was tasty though.

Yelp
Since moving back home, I have been trying to find a good dim sum place that's hectic/chaotic with the carts going around (something about the experience makes it so much better). My brother suggested my husband take me there for our anniversary and as soon as we walked in, I was excited. It looked very busy but were seated right away. My husband was taken back, as this was his first experience and was confused with the paper left on the table. He was about to google translate with his phone, thinking it was the menu!!. I'm not much of a meat eater, but the black bean spareribs my husband got was so yummy. I got just about everything that had shrimp and I was not disappointed. I wish I ate slower so I could try more dishes. It is very noisy and chaotic when you walk in. There is so much going on and if it's your first time can be a little confusing. There is no host/hostess just stationed at the front, which can cause questions of how do we be seated or check in. It isn't any different from other dim sum places that I have been to, again I enjoy the experience of the noise and chaos with the carts going around and people ordering food. Specifically when eating dim sum. The four stars are because we were not offered water, and it took us a while before being able to flag down someone to get water. I was not too bothered as they gave us tea from the start.
google avatar

Risa L.

Yelp
Legends as we like to call it, is a staple family meet up spot for tasty and consistent dim sum. Their steamed, fried, and baked items are all good. I like that they still come around with dim sum carts. Favorites include fried mochi with pork filling, egg custard, char siu bao, fried taro with pork filling, sticky rice, fat noodle with char siu. Make sure to place non dim-sum food orders early. Don't be afraid to ask for things like; iced water, hot sauce, or help cutting the dim sum to share. Presentable and reasonably clean restaurant with restrooms inside. Convenient parking in The Cultural Plaza (no validation). Go early (8am) to beat the weekend crowd.

Jordan K.

Yelp
For my notes: I went with a group of friends and everyone was happy with the food. My favorite is the griddled look fun noodles. Soup dumplings were a little dry. The service can be kinda tough when they get busy and the place does get really crowded. Price was also pretty reasonable!

Yelp
While we have to wait till the afternoon to check in at our KoOlina timeshare, we went to Chinatown to pick up some vegetables and bbq pork buns at Sing Cheong Yuen(SCY) Naturally we also stop by Legend restaurant for a quick lunch. Not too hungry after munching on some of the 'goodies' from SCY, ordered Seafood chow mein and a couple of baskets of dim sum. All food is and real cheap.

Yelp
Came over to Legend because Fook Lam is closed for the month of April. Went first thing in the morning at 8 o'clock, and the restaurant was empty. It's really big inside. We didn't get to order anything until about 8:15 because I guess they weren't expecting us to be there so early. The cards didn't come out until 820. The service was as you would expect, not as attentive, even though there were only three tables eating at 8 o'clock in the morning. They do not serve a regular menu that early on, they only serve dim sum. Only one cart came around that early and they had a decent selection of dim sum. The dim sum, in my opinion was mediocre. The flavors were either Overpowering and salty or they didn't give in any sauces unless you asked. I will say that the shrimp wonton was actually the highlight because the shrimp in the fried wonton was pretty big. This definitely isn't at the top of my list for dim sum places.

Yelp
I love Dim Sum and this was a perfect lunch for two. I have eaten here several times and the dim sum never disappoints. The service was great. I love the carts that come around with the assortment of dim sum and desserts. You can also order dishes from the menu. It's also fun to people watch to see what others have ordered. It gives me ideas for the next visit. As for ambiance this is a fairly large restaurant, and I was surprised that it wasn't as crowded especially during the lunch hour. However I loved it and definitely enjoyed our dim sum lunch.
google avatar

Jeanette E.

Yelp
Came here on Chinese New Year. Fortunately we arrived at 10am, right before the rush! Service was fast. The dim sum was good. Kinda disappointed in the look funn as it didn't have much flavor. I usually like to eat mine plain, but I had to add plum sauce to this one. There's not much of ambiance. Tables are close together in almost a cafeteria setting. It's good to just grind and leave.

Karrie H.

Yelp
Zero stars! This place is a zoo. The fish tasted like chlorine. We got the worst service ever, especially when we told them about our concern with the fish. They told us everyone here is eating the same fish and there is nothing they can do... I wouldn't recommend this place for health reasons.
google avatar

Angela C.

Yelp
No, Forget about this place. Food is bad, service is bad, too cold with AC blowing hard, and tables are packed tight to the point of uncomfortable. Our favorite Dimsum was closed on Tuesday, so came here next door instead. The lady brought us to a tightly packed row of tables where you can smell your neighbor. The Dimsum card too long to come around and if they did, you must holler for them to not skip your table. How difficult to get some food here? Once the food is service, we quickly notice the quality of the meat tasted old, frozen by how it smelled and how hard it was to chew on. I asked for a menu to see if there is anything else decent to order, and the server said they don't have any menu for me. So we decided to leave and not give this place anymore money.
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant is a staple in the cultural center plaza. It is always crowded so pro tip make reservations if you're going with a bigger party. The service was good once we were seated. Some dishes took awhile to come and it took some time to get more water and tea throughout our meal. However, the dim sum was good, we tried an assortment of dishes and nothing disappointed. I'd definitely come back here for dim sum.

Yelp
Dinner is very average compare to the mainland. However the dim sum is a better but this review is based on the dinner. We may have ordered the wrong dishes. The beef chow fun was 5 stars. List of bean sprouts and good for the island. We ordered the tomatoe beef chow mein it was okay it didn't satisfy my craving but did for others. The salted fish and chicken friend rice was average very little salted fish and what they had it seem like they deep fried the fish and it was on the chewier side. The string beans with minced meat was okay. Hot and sour soup was not spicy at all. We like it a little spicier. The sui mai was good and meaty. The pork chop with salt and pepper was not so good with flavor. But I am guessing it's good for the island. It was slow and the service was excellent. Parking in the lot near by is 1.50. The plaza is so quiet at dinner time nothing else is open.

Yelp
Gung Hee Fat Choy! To welcome in the Year of the Snake, our friend invited us to join a group of travel buddies to an authentic Hong Kong style seafood dinner at Legend Seafood Restaurant in the Chinese Cultural Plaza. The restaurant was busy, but we were seated promptly by their friendly, efficient staff. The fabulous VIP set menu included a delicious seafood soup, appetizer plate with my favorite jellyfish, abalone, scallop, sea cucumber, & shrimp ball, scrumptious crispy Peking duck with bun, garlic lobster, fried salted crab, dried scallops with mushroom & broccoli, delicate steamed fish, seafood fried rice, and red bean dessert (they were out of the almond pudding). All the dishes were well prepared and it was perfect for our table of 10. With its efficient staff, delectable cuisine, and convenient location, it was such a lovely way to ring in the new year with friends!

Yelp
For a authentic Chinatown no frills experience Legends is the place. This restaurant has changed names in the past fifty years but is a fixture in Chinatown that I hope stays for another half decade. Legends is busy, fast paced, servers rushing to take orders and deliver food. However this is all part of what makes Legends a delicious relic of the past. The dimsum has definitely gotten better. Everything is hot, fresh, basic and hits your soul. The har gow, sticky rice, fried egg rolls, beef chow fun all seasoned perfectly delicious. Legends gets packed on weekends. Definitely go before 11am for a good seat or you will be waiting outside for a table.

Marcus L.

Yelp
I don't usually rate any restaurants or if I do I never leave a bad review but this restaurant I just had to. The service was bad you have to look around and keep asking for water, they aren't packed or busy but they'll sit you next to strangers with no privacy because they're lazy. And they overcharge for their dim sum. The food is alright, if you aren't Chinese or speak Chinese, if they never seen you before they'll rip you off charging you extra.
google avatar

Donald B.

Yelp
A longtime Honolulu favorite. More competition now so it wasn't as packed as before time, but the food was still excelent. There were 11 of us so we had many different bao, some luk fun, and a couple of roast meats. No one left hungry. Service was good.

Yelp
Legend Seafood is located on the ground floor in the Chinese Cultural center. There is a parking lot but we parked on the street, metered parking. This is our "go to" place for dim sum if we're downtown. Legend has dim sum carts so you can see what to order even though you may not know the appropriate name! So much variety and selection to choose from. We ordered the usual siu mai (pork hash) , har gau ( shrimp dumplings), black bean spareribs, white book tripe which was tough, and needed to be cooked more! Our host wanted scallops with spinach. I ordered the tender juicy chicken feet! For dessert we got the egg whites custard tarts which are very healthy and just as good as the yellow egg tarts! You need to try it next time you go!

RJ D.

Yelp
Note we're newbies to the restaurant and to dim sum ordering, but we were up for an adventure and a new experience. We certainly got that. Chaotic ambience, and hit or miss service. Upon seating, a bunch of servers with dim sum carts converged on us, some aggressively pushing their dim sum. Our initial choices were very rushed as a result (with a couple of regrets), then we were practically ignored after. We finally decided to just call it a day and leave. Might've had a better experience if we went with others already familiar with this restaurant (and also if we spoke Chinese -- servers seemed to just speak broken English)... but that's on us. Other diners, almost all Chinese it seemed, seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Yelp
If you're looking for a classic dim sum restaurant, this is it! The customers were mostly Chinese, with a spattering of tourists, like me. There was even a table of brandy drinking men, loud, and having a great time. Reminded me of my departed uncle-in-law. The food was good. Noodle based items were thicker noodles than I'm used to. Flavors were good. Service was on point. I'd go back.

Yelp
We were craving dim sum, so we had to come here since all the locals recommended it. We had a plethora of different dumplings and gorged ourselves for lunch! We would highly recommend it if you are in the area and want dumplings. The bok choy? wasn't our favorite. Prob should have just gotten the broccoli instead lol

Yelp
Wow i was fortunate to eat here on a weekend in the private room! I had no idea they have a private room on the second floor (not directly above the restaurant but a short walk). The private room holds six tables. I had all kinds of dim sum for our table which included shrimp har gau, pork hash, spare ribs, look funn, turnip cake, bean curd, spinach and scallop dumplings, custard bun dessert and Seafood noodles. The dim sum was fantastic, Some members of our party reported they could feel the msg affecting them though so caution if that affects you. We were lucky that someone in our group spoke fluent chinese, I think it really helped w the great service that we got.

Yelp
I always wanted to go to a dim sum restaurant!.So I was very excited when my cousin recommended this place. So we said let's go!!.When we arrived it was quite Bz but, luckily a table just opened.Perfect!!.The place looked liked a topical older restaurant that could use a little make over?Other than that it was clean but noisy. So we didn't order anything from the menu.A person came with a cart full of bamboo steamers. Each steamer had a different dim sum or a different dish. She asked you want this?Try this?.So we took a few dishes. We had shrimp shumai, shrimp dim sum, peanut with chives dime sum,Sweet n sour spareribs n brazed chicken feet.So it was time to dig in!.I was so excited!.Wow everything was so good!.Good taste everything what I expected. Then soon after another person came with a cart. She had a variety of small bun's,Wonton's,Chicken wings n more.We had 2 different kinds of small pork bun's filled with sweet pork n Charsu pork. The buns were moist..It made it a perfect pairing to the pork filling. So delicious. It felt like I was in Hong Kong..Soon after another person came and she had the dessert cart. There were steamed cakes, sesame sweet balls just to name a few.We only took the little custard pies. That also was flavorful..So we were almost done with the first round of dim sum dishes n we were waiting for the lady to come back.It got really bz but she kept on passing us.We tried to call her but she was attending to other customers. We waited n waited plus I forget to mention that they didn't give us water. We finally asked and it took at least 10-15 minute for the water to arrive. So we finally just gave up waiting for the lady to return. She didn't even come back. She assumed that we were done?.Oh well's.So we payed the bill and left.I probably might go back?.Will see?Thats why I gave this place a 3 reluctantly...

Yelp
Typical traditional Chinese restaurant. The place looks dated and seems popular with the older Chinese crowd. We were there attending a wedding reception. They served us a 9 course dinner. They served seafood soup, steamed blue cod, cold ginger chicken, orange chicken?, roast duck, lobster, shrimp, spinach, fried rice, and tapioca. All the food tasted alright although I don't recall anything that was outstanding. I was so hungry that I forgot to take photos of the food. The service was lacking. We initially had to request water and then later had to request tea refills. It took a really long time to get the 1st course and then when the courses started coming in there were too many courses arriving at the same time so we had to combine dishes to make them fit on the lazy susan turntable. There was a another function that was just slightly larger in size to ours but the built in PA system was for the entire restaurant and that kind of held us hostage for the duration of their ceremony. Admittedly, I usually don't dine at Chinese restaurants often so this was a nice escapade for me. Not sure if I'd return though.

Yelp
Dim sum at Legend Seafood Restaurant is good again? I believe so! The word of mouth currently is that it's not good, but my previous experience says otherwise. There's some new faces, and possibly--(probably)-- a new dim sum chef since the last time I've been here. Prices are kinda whatever they want to stamp. Some are medium, some are x-medium, some are large, and it seems like nothing is actually small. Typical pricing from $4.45 to $6.45. Small is $3.45, but what's that?? When I went, there weren't many dim sum baskets in the cart, and a majority was steamed to order or in the process of steaming, which was great as everything was hot and fresh. The Steamed Beef Look Funn was excellent. Thin and moist look Funn that had a nice texture and consistency filled with juicy and tasty beef. Steamed Spareribs were quite tender and tasty with flavorful fermented black beans and garlic. The Steamed Beef Balls were amazing! It had a pink hue when it arrived at the table. Is it not fully cooked? Nope! It was perfectly cooked! I'll take this over brown anytime. The texture was very good. Firm and meaty, and also quite juicy and tasty. The Pan Fried Chives Cake was exceedingly good. Pan fried to a very nice crisp, and packed with tasty and flavorful filling with a generous amount of shrimp. The Fried Mochi Puff was excellent! Fried to a nice, not oily crisp with tasty and generous filling. The Mochi was perfect--not too soft and not too firm Bean Curd Roll has become a favorite of mines, but no one else's. I like how the bean curd roll is soft and soaks up the tasty sauce. This was packed with pork filling that had a nice meaty texture and a lot of other ingredients. Lastly, my favorite, chicken feet, were very good. Soft, plump, meaty, tasty, and quite flavorful with the savoriness of the fermented black bean and soy, umami from the oyster sauce, and slight sweetness from the sugar. Overall, this was a surprisingly top notch dim sum experience. Everything was freshly made, piping hot, well seasoned and well prepared, and even the service was excellent. Hopefully this is consistent! Will return soon!

Yelp
Even though it was a Sunday and they were extremely busy with a pretty long line waiting to be seated, we waited only about 10 - 15 minutes for a table for 4 people. Although seating was fast we had to wait at least 20 minutes for the 'cart girl' to notice us and that was with me being aggressive in waving her down! The food was good, not over-the-top tasty but good enough to be recognized as dim sum . The wait help was not very helpful either because each time I would ask them for an item (ie: water, forks instead of chop sticks) they would either ignore me or take forever to bring the requested item! Typical loud atmosphere for a Dim Sum restaurant; so loud I couldn't hear my poor Aunt, who was sitting directly across me, say anything when she was speaking! All-in-all, I would give this restaurant a solid 3-stars, at the most. Too much going on all at the same time!

Yelp
Comparable to Happy Day in kaimuki. It's what you would expect for China Town dim sum. Good selection. About average service. Not the best cleanliness but about average for China town. Favorite was the Shumai. Parking is not validated.

Yelp
Extensive menu with reasonable quality of food but Harbor Village Cuisine at Koko Marina is still our favorite for Chinese food in Hawaii. Staff is friendly and ambiance is exquisite.

Yelp
we eat here frequently but I always felt this place was too expensive for the amount of food I received. today I went with my wife and we only ordered dim sum. 1 plate with 5 pieces of chicken wings, 2 individual servings of rice soup, 1 fried chives, 1 3 piece shumai, 1 order 2 pieces of seafood roll and 1 order spare ribs and we was charged $47.08. these were all small appetizer sized portions and the total and was almost $50.

Yelp
Came here for a nine course meal with a group of friends. What a great place to celebrate a event. They have a private room on the second floor. All the food was delicious and plentiful. They kept adding dishes to the lazy Susan. What ever you didn't eat at the table, you were able to take home. The best dishes were the tofu noodle soup (smooth and silky). Chinese chicken salad ( fresh and refreshing). Shrimp with candied walnuts ( firm and tasty) sea bass fillets ( soft and light).

Beautiful place decorated with Chinese decorations with large picture windows to let the light in. Family owned and operated their staff is tenured, fast, and efficient. A wonderful assortment of Dim Sum offerings sure to please any taste or craving. They also have a great assortment of Chinese cuisine that features fresh seafood. Great place for any occasion or gathering.

Yelp
This place has gradually gone downhill over the years, and now they are raising their prices and shrinking their quantities. It used to be a great place to go, but I have found the flavor is not like it used to be, and the place is certainly not nearly as clean as it used to be. Unfortunately, our family will not be coming back.

Yelp
My fiancé and I love dim sum and try to go explore Chinatown when we travel to new places. We came here on a weekday morning after seeing all the good reviews and we were disappointed. The food was underwhelming. Not a lot of dim sum options here. They did have the ladies pushing the carts so you can see what to order. The food was also lukewarm and the shrimp didn't taste fresh. It's also very outdated inside and not the cleanest.
