21 Destination Restaurants in the Twin Cities Suburbs | Eater Twin Cities

"Lela’s sleek open kitchen is the first giveaway it’s anything but a typical hotel restaurant. The menu’s crudo section features raw selections from around the globe, including ceviche, ahi tuna poke, and beef carpaccio. The lobster deviled eggs and steaks, ranging from a petite eight-ounce tenderloin to an 16-ounce ribeye, are worthy splurges." - Stacy Brooks

Google
Lela was a fun bustling spot. The open concept gave it a festive atmosphere, which some could find a little loud. With it being restaurant week, we knew it could be busier than usual. The food was all presented in an elegant way, and the flavors were on point. Some of the restaurant week items are not on their regular menu, so this is all strictly based on one-off menu items. I ordered the braised short rib. The flavor was excellent, but I did feel it was slightly overcooked. My wife had the swordfish which was seared well and flavorful. Overall, we would give Lela a 4/5 with everything tasting really good, but not outstanding.

Google
Restaurant week here was a disappointment, even though the menu looked promising. Restaurant week is normally a showing of the most popular dishes or menu featured items so that diners have the opportunity to try one appetizer, one entrée, and one dessert. In this case Lela chose only non-menu items that tasted poorly mass produced for RW, which normally isn't an issue but none of what we ordered was very good in general. Flavor just wasn't there with most of the entrees, portions were smaller which isn't uncommon for MN RW but come on, $45 for a tasting menu, where 80% of it isn't good, yikes! We split a regular calamari appetizer while waiting for our RW menus. I had the braised short rib, while the tricolor carrots and mashed potatoes offered some flavor, the 'braised short rib' was devoid of it. It really needed some seasoning or salt, there was none at the table, so it was very bland. Everyone that had this at the table agreed it was very mid, flavorless, literally tasted like a crockpot recipe I could do at home, and I am not a cook whatsoever. My friend Lindsay ordered the sword fish and it was TERRIBLE, possibly the worst fish entree I've tried in years. The fish was unbelievably fishy and spongey, it gave off frozen fish steak defrosted in the microwave vibes. Also there was no cauliflower puree to speak of, mostly just clam velouté, the spring vegetables were abysmal. There were a handful of peas and a couple of asparagus tips in white sauce. Not an impressive dish, should have never been added to the menu, quality appalling. Desserts were good, I had the cookie skillet, others got the crème brûlée. All in all I would recommend passing on Lela Restaurant Week, the servers were not prepared for the rush of the event and didn't even really know restaurant week was happening, we had to ask for the RW menus two to three times. Server also gave attitude when my friend had to return her inedible fish. Not a great RW experience unfortunately! (Update: my other friend Leah who also ordered the sword fish got violently ill the next day, this is not okay; I suspect food poisoning from the bad fish, I wonder how many other people got sick that night!)

Google
Service was fantastic, food was amazing, and the atmosphere was quite nice/calm. I can see why the food does cost so much because it's the best food I've had in a long time. I highly recommend going here at least one time for the experience of the food and atmosphere.

Google
Sea bass tasted good, but nothing special. Portion was too small for this price. Bread was fresh and tasted great. Service was fast for food and toooo slowly for payment...

Google
Went as a work group and had excellent service. The drinks were good but not strong. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming. The womens bathroom was so clean along with the restaurant. The food was delicious. The crab cake was delectible, and the shrimp scampi was very good. The portion size for some things are small or real big but id recommend.

Google
This is an incredibly impressive restaurant in the first place, but especially for a hotel. The food was almost perfect (the pictures they have on Google represent the restaurant well), the atmosphere is that of fine dining, the prices are reasonable, and we were blown away. The service a fairly friendly but not as accommodating as one would hope; not a huge deal.

Google
I just went into this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised because I've been here a couple times and I really don't remember it being this phenomenal. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and it was so good and so were the employees the whole atmosphere I really enjoyed it definitely 5 out of 5

Google
Located in the Sheraton, this is a fine mid scale restaurant. Steak was tasty and well prepared and mashed potatoes were extra creamy. Appetizers and salads were good sized portion.

Yelp
Lela delivers a modern dining experience that feels both elevated and approachable. The Chilean sea bass was buttery and beautifully plated, while the crab cake offered fresh, layered flavor with a delightful crisp. The atmosphere is chic yet unpretentious--great lighting, open layout, and a calm energy that sets the tone for an enjoyable evening. Service was attentive without hovering, and every plate arrived looking like it belonged in a magazine. Bonus points for the extensive wine list and elegant presentation of their desserts. A perfect place for date night or a refined solo dinner. I will be back for sure!!!

Yelp
The old fashion drink met my expectations. I would def get the old fashioned again. The bathrooms were very clean and well kept. There is ample seating at the bar or in the dining area. They were not understaffed which was a great thing, as a result we did not have to wait too lo my when we needed extra service. The meatball met my expectations. I enjoyed it a little more than the calamari. The calamari sauce was nice and creamy.

Yelp
Lela is located at the Sheraton hotel. There was plenty of parking and you can enter from two different sides of the building. Inside is very modern, a little business upscale feel to it. The bar was busy and there were a moderate amount of people dining. We tried Lela during restaurant week. For $45 each person selects an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Their menu had items that were not on their main menu and are smaller portion sizes. For starters, we tried the crab cake, tuna tostada and the meatball. The crab cake was awful! It was really fishy and lacked any seasoning. I like when crab cakes are fluffy but this lacked that. It was odd. The meatball and tuna tostadas were tasty though! You get some nice soft bread with rosemary olive oil to dip in which is always a nice touch at restaurants. Next came our small entrees; A rack of lamb and braised short ribs. The lamb was really flavorful and tender, I would've liked to see more of the rosemary jus to make the flavors really pop. The potato pave that came with it also lacked flavor - it needed more cream and cheese and chives. The deserts were simple and tasty. It was fairly loud and echoed inside so it was really hard to hear our server. I'm not sure if that's why but our server was awkward and I didn't see one smile or attempts at being friendly. I think he forgot to put in our dessert order too because it took ridiculously long to get (and dessert shouldn't take long right?). It felt that much longer because we had been done eating for a while. I liked the menu options and felt like this would be a nice place to take the parents next time. They seem like they gotta work on some of the dishes though.

Yelp
This was my 2nd time here and i was excited as I rated Lela a 5 the last time. This time, I stoped here for Restaurant week and was excited that there was so seafood on the menu!! I don't normally get to eat the tasting menus as I don't eat beef or pork. (SwordFish was not a good choice) We had a good server but he got slammed and was maybe new? It took us a while to get our drinks/ restaurant week menu/ anything. Fortunately we had time and weren't starving as we ordered calamari to get a little snack and they also delivered bread. The bread was soft and the calamari was tasty. I would get again. Restaurant week 1st course: I got the tuna tostada and they were tiny but tasty! Another person got the ceviche (didn't excite me) and another got the menu (I'm sure it was good!) Restaurant week main course: My friends ordered the short rib- said it was meh and not that great. I got the swordfish and was very excited about it as I haven't had in years. I took one bite and knew something was wrong with it. It was flavorless, spongy with an off wateriness. The aftertaste was horrible. I can't explain it. I wasn't going to eat more of it. It seemed like frozen swordfish with the food service grill lines because it wasn't cooked through or warm enough to get those lines. *why do I still rate this place a 4?!? Because the server fixed it and I picked out one of the best items on the menu that sounded safe. The gnocchi (not on restaurant week menu). It took 25 min to get this but it was worth it!!! That gnocchi is incredible! Get it! It was packed full of flavor and clearly was hand made. Also, the crème brûlée was so incredible and made me happy they made it in house. I will be back for more on their regular menu but may avoid restaurant week items that aren't on their normal menu! Note: my friend that ate her whole swordfish was violently ill the next day... who knows but I'm glad I sent it back. I don't normally but trust your pallet.

Yelp
I had high hopes for Lela. My hopes were dashed. We had to ask several times for the restaurant week menu. My friend was given the wrong drink. The fish entree was sent back by my friend. I foolishly ate mine old to be violently ill the next day. We also asked to have separate checks and were given a dirty look. The only redeeming quality was the restaurant itself was gorgeous.

Yelp
I have had their breakfast twice in one weekend. Granted the first was my wedding day and the bridesmaids went and picked food that I might eat, I am not sure that first time counts. The second was the morning after the wedding. My new husband and I went for breakfast. We somehow too frequently end up ordering the same thing and this was no exception, we both ordered the Eggs Benedict and it was absolutely perfection! To this day whenever we drive by my husband talks about how good their eggs Benedict was. The hollandaise is perfection! The space is so cute and feels intimate but also not, which is great. The service is efficient and fast. We are hoping they open back up on the weekends so we can get back there soon for breakfast!

Yelp
I am staying at the Sheraton on. business for 3 nights and this was my first night in town after a day of traveling. I wanted to get a nice quality meal before my busy week begins. I got a half Cesar salad with salmon, side of asparagus and fries. This is not a 3 dollar sign restaurant. My salad was drenched in dressing, salmon was cooked on a flat top grill (under cooked), crutons from a mass produced bag, asparagus was too al dente, but the fries were great. I could have had this same meal at an Apple Bees... not trying to be snarky, but honest. Bartender told me they were busy to explain why my food was taking long. I didn't care about the wait, it's the quality that was insufficient. Everything is expensive I get it, but you can use inexpensive ingredients and make it appear to be more high end.

Yelp
Everytime I visit Minneapolis, I eat at Lela's for many reasons. The service is always great, the place allows for good conversation, and the food is always terrific. The pasta is house-made on site, and the sauce was very tangy and appealing. Waters are always refilled without requesting. I will probably be returning soon.

Yelp
It's been more than 5 years since I was last at Lela.. I hear they no longer have a AYCE brunch anymore , while it's a bit sad to see that go it makes sense. Our dinner was pretty good, I only got a few pictures but the rest was just as pretty. The service was great. Not over attentive or under attentive. The place looks as good as I remember. It's not super romantic but on the way there.

Yelp
We're never disappointed when we sit up to the bar for happy hour and are greeted by bar tenders. Christopher always remembers we need some extra bread to make sure we don't waste the amazing tomato sauces with both the mussels and meatball. We have had other entrees and have always been pleased. But the mussels and meatball keep calling us back -crave

Yelp
Ok, wait a minute. I previously had worked on the 494 strip for many years and never once tried Lela. WHAT THE HECK! A hidden gem. Yes, it's connected to the Sheraton. GET OVER THE BIAS OF A HOTEL RESTAURANT not being worthy. It's more than worthy, Lela is a destination. Flavors in the Mussels were amazing, as was the shrimp scampi. Staff were so friendly and gave great recommendations. Thanks to Chris behind the bar and Sammi as well. Book your next dinner at Lela, you won't be disappointed. Staff: 5 . Drinks: 5 . Food/flavors: 5 . Happy hour: 5

Yelp
Delicious food. Great choices. Good service. Ate a breakfast & a dinner in this hotel restaurant & was pleasantly surprised.

Yelp
Not a restaurant for a person that a true foodie. The ceviche was bland. The Scallops came out a bit on the cold side and bland as well. Didn't offer any unique mock-tails on the menu. The server was nice and did an excellent job. The food just didn't WOW me at all. Nothing to be excited about. the Ambience was ordinary as well. It's for some people but, however not for me. I've paid more for my meal and gotten a more flavorful pallet. Sorry. :-(

Yelp
This is my second review of Lela. Traveling for business and this place is consistently excellent. The meatball appetizer is excellent and of course the scallops. The burger and pasta also look amazing. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I came in for the first time for restaurant week with a few friends and had a great time! We ordered a round of drinks to start, they were tasty but very standard. For apps, we did the meatball, scallops, and ceviche. The meatball was massive and more than enough to share for 3 of us. The ceviche was a little more difficult to share & light on chips, but packed with flavor. The scallops came in an order of three and were the highlight of the course. For dinner, we had the short rib, snapper, and gnocchi. The short rib was a hearty portion of fall off the bone tender meat with potatoes. The snapper was good, but I didn't feel like it was cohesive as a dish & the cook was just okay. The gnocchi was such a different texture than I'm used to and it was phenomenal. It was almost cheese like and paired perfectly with the mushroom & tomato pesto.

Yelp
This was the best part of staying at the hotel. We've eaten many times here during our stay because it was convenient. Parking is ample since there is a large parking lot. For breakfast, I had two eggs any style (scrambled eggs with bacon and sourdough toast). You really cannot go wrong with this choice. I've also had the butternut squash ravioli. This was delicious, the sage and the mixture with the almond sauce made it decadent. It's one of the better hotel restaurants that I've been to and would recommend trying it at least once.

Yelp
Just popped in for drinks and dessert, but both were excellent. The atmosphere was very cozy and calm and service was fantastic. Got a Kir Royale and Apple Panna Cotta. The drink was a festive way to end the evening and the dessert was delicious (even though it was more like a cheesecake). Others had food that looked great as well.
google avatar

Yelp
I came here for breakfast, since I was in the area, which is a rare occasion, for a work detail. It was so tasty. I got the crabcakes eggs, Benedict and a hollandaise sauce that was sincerely perfectly balanced. Some hollandaise sauces just taste like mayo, or are super watery, or super sour. This was the perfect balance of well seasoned, sour, umami and, yes, I'm saying it, great mouthfeel. It has the right amount of seasoning, the sauce did not separate, and the béarnaise...it's just delicious. The egg was cooked perfectly with a soft yolk that breaks over the crabcake and English muffins like you always want. I really appreciated the salad, which had a nice acidic vinaigrette on it, to break through the savory food. So many times you see eggs, Benedict, paired with hashbrowns, and then it's just so heavy. It's hard to enjoy. and also, it is a beautiful location, beautiful, decor, and the services are just great. I wish I lived closer! Easy parking, too! I hope to stop by again when and if I'm in the area!

Yelp
Spouse and I came in on a weekend to sit at the bar. It wasn't very crowded, which made for a relaxed ambience. Service was attentive and friendly. We really enjoyed the food. I'd recommend trying a pasta! The old fashioned was fun albeit pretty sweet. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
I've been so eager to try our Lela based on so many positive recommendations from neighbors, friends and family, but my experience last night fell flat. We started off with some drinks, which were great, but weren't given napkins for our drinks so my espresso martini quite literally slid all around the table because the bottom of it was frozen. About 5 minutes after we got our drinks, a different server came up and said our server got cut off the floor so she was taking over (and gave us napkins for our drinks and tried to wipe up the table). The service from then on out was pretty abrupt and not warm and fuzzy. I've only heard splendid things about the service here, but I continuously felt rushed throughout our experience. The ambiance is so lovely and cozy, and I liked the drinks and burrata flavor. I expected a little more flavor from the bolognese and the lava cake.. but it was ok. I do hope to return as I live nearby, but for now Lela, you are a 3/5, sorry.

Yelp
Went for HH with some friends due to a proximity to the Braemer hockey arena around the corner. The restaurant has been nicely updated and has the ambiance of a very nice upscale restaurant. We made reservations and the place was 75% empty. Service was amazing. The food was great too. We had the salmon flatbread and fries with garlic aioli and they were both delicious! I had the Vanilla Old Fashion which was amazing! Would like to see the wine menu options more upscale. Will go back again to try the restaurant menu.
google avatar

Jeremy R.

Yelp
Lela is an amazing restaurant! Prepare for the whole experience! Ask for Adel as a server and Sammi for wine. Food is top notch! With excellent crab cake, gnocchi and best NY strip I have had in a long time. Deep wine list. Ambiance is nice as well! Quiet enough to have good conversation with good music that is not too loud. 5/5.
google avatar

Alyson M.

Yelp
Came here for a celebratory dinner. Wanted someplace classy with tummy food. Lela did not disappoint! The service was exquisite and the drinks were fancy and strong! The food was also very good. Had the lobster deviled eggs, which were SO good, but you only get 2 so pretty pricey even for lobster. I chose the bolognese.. can't say enough good about this.. and my friend got a fish dish, which again, portion size very small for the price. The reason for 4 stars is that even though it is a really nice restaurant, it's in a hotel and thus people treat it as such. We spent the first half of our meal with a group of about 6 women whooping it up about 20 feet from our table. It is an open concept so it was loud and echoed and was not relaxing at all. I get it, have fun with your friends, but this place seems way too nice for that kind of behavior. I hear they have a happy hour, so perhaps we'll give it another shot for that!

Megan M.

Yelp
No celery rim (yes it's 28 min until closing of brunch but I'm the only one) and for $12 I would like a bigger drink. But whatever. It does taste delicious and I got a virgin but wish it had the rim!

Emz P.

Yelp
In a hotel. The waiter was pushy trying to sell drinks and desserts. I had scallops. It was overpriced for what it is. Also it was overly salted. Taste was ok.

Hannah R.

Yelp
Sammy is the best manager ever! The whole team was nothing but fantastic! We love Lela

Yelp
Went here for the first time during restaurant week. They have a decent menu to choose from for $35. Prior to covid, I remember wanted to go here for their brunch buffet but unfortunately they don't offer that anymore. :(. The restaurant has a nice ambient and perfect for date nights. The tables are not crowded so you get some personal space. For appetizer: I got the smoked salmon flatbread. It was SO GOOD! 5/5. Highly recommend this. I thought it was going to be mediocre but I was wrong. Everyone loved it. My boyfriend for the meatball. It was 1 HUGE meatball. Lol. A little salty with the marina sauce and taste like regular meatball except it's really big. Can be pretty filling. 3.5/5 Friend for the snapper ceviche and it was good. Not too sour like your typical ceviche, in my opinion. We ordered off menu for the chicken wild rice soup which came after our entrees because they had to make a new batch. It was ok. 3/5 Entrees: I got the salmon honestly tasted like salmon at other restaurants I've been to. The portion was a bit small so I was a little disappointment. 4/5 But my flatbread filled me up. Had a bite of bf's lobster linguini and I think I liked my salmon more. The linguini had a good presentation but I think it was ok. I think the sauce Is marinara with a dash of lemon on it. I liked the lobster pieces though. 3.5/5 Desserts: I love Creme brûlée so of course I got it. The presentation looked nice. It was delicious like always. 5/5 Definitely a good choice and make sure you save room for desserts. The tres leche was rich and creamy. Also a good choice. 4/5. After the 3 courses, I was stuffed. Definitely recommend to come here and even more for restaurant week but I think it's worth it. I really do hope they bring back their brunch buffet one day. The service was mediocre. We weren't check on or water was refilled as often as it should have. So I was little disappointed with service. 3/5
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
It is a strange location. However the interior is well decorated and the chef was skilled. The presentation was great and taste was top tier. It was too loud and can use some upgrades on acoustics. The service was a slightly slower than expected especially with o Lu one server for our table of eight. Great spot for a business dinner.

Yelp
Hidden in the Sheraton Hotel, Bloomington, is a gem I've been dying to try! Had great start with breakfast and ended shopping day with delicious dinner. Prompt service and beautiful space. Eat and be happy!

Yelp
My husband and I planned a Christmas Day out and chose Lela for dinner, we are so happy we did! From drinks to appetizers to main courses were all phenomenal! Our server Brandon was awesome and gave us time to just enjoy our night together! The ambiance was perfect, very romantic but also ready for larger parties if needed! We tried the snapper ceviche, meatball for appetizers and the sea bass and lobster pasta for main courses. Everything was cooked and plated beautifully! If you are in the Bloomington/Edina area this is a must try!

Yelp
This is the best restaurant in the whole United states. I'm here for a week staying at the Sheraton and every night I have been coming to Lelas and the food just keeps getting better and better each night. This is five star Michelin Worthy restaurant. Every dish that comes out not only looks like an art masterpiece it tastes like one too. Last night I had the scallops which rocked my world, the next night I had the carpaccio and let me just say it was so delicate yet so flavorful with hints of truffle oil and capers and beautifully little potato string sticks that they made themselves. I also brought a bunch of the people that I work with here and we came for happy hour we ordered the espresso martini. The maitra g came to our table and topped off our espresso martinis with these beautiful delicates little baby white chocolate mini balls. The attention to detail in this place is crazy amazing. The staff really know their stuff highly educated and super personable. The food and the service are beyond my expectations and I have dined in fine restaurants all over the world. Literally I wish I lived here and I would just come every night and work myself through the menu.

Yelp
Oh Lela. You were my absolute favorite of restaurant week. I was taken back by this hidden gem. Walking inside on a beautiful sunny afternoon really is wonderful here because Lela's layout is very open with lots of windows that make it a beautiful sight to see and THEN there is the seating options! There are so many and I LOVED IT. You could literally feel like your in a different restaurant depending where you sit. This visit we tried the Prefixed Restaurant Week Menu but they usually have lunch special available during the week. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner is offered here. I'm a sucker for good bread and olive oil so when they brought it out I already knew I was going love this place. We ordered: 1) Tuna Taco - delicious! I highly recommend them 2) Lela Simple Salad- was tasty but I would really have to be in the mood for salad to reorder this item. 3)1/2 Turkey Panini and Soup of the day - the Panini was ok my girls loved it but the soup was chicken wild rice soup and it was AMAZING. 4) Fire Grilled Shrimp Salad - Perfection! I wish I could make this for myself everyday. 5)Tres Leche Cake - I'm not usually a fan of Tres Leche but it was made in a more westernized approach. Which I appreciate my taste buds were satisfied. -Usually Tres Leche is soaked with milk I beleiand it's everywhere. Lela's version does not have milk everywhere but it is moist with out and doubt and tasty. 6) Chefs Ice Cream Choice- we had Vanilla ice cream which was traditional and perfect my girls love it. When you come to a restaurant you good food and great atmosphere and Lela's excels in both. I have found a new spot to frequent and I am excited to see how Lela grows. Thank you to Lela's staff who were so nice and accommodating and put up with my one million questions and concerns. =)

Yelp
Delicious food! Plenty of options without being too wide of a menu. Service was a bit slow but it was during dinner rush. Our server also apologized plenty for the delay and she was so sweet and awesome! I ordered the meatball, salmon, and ended with chocolate mousse dessert. The meatball was amazing and very large, you're definitely able to share that app. Salmon was delicious and cooked to perfection! The chocolate mousse was a little disappointing as it was a layered cake and I was not expecting that. Overall, very romantic and delicious place to check out!

Yelp
TL:DR party of 13, on a Monday Night, not busy, food was great, but the kitchen took too long to make our meals. Monday night team meeting with a reservation. The place was not crowded, in fact there was plenty of seating at the bar and for dinner. the atmosphere was great, and the staff was wonderful. Our waiter Juan was great, and Cesar took care of our drinks. For the food and staff, I would say 5 stars for the kitchen and delivery of the plates, 2 stars We ordered our food together, which went well, and all our salads arrived together which was great. But when it came to our entrees, that is when it broke down. After 50 min of waiting, the first plates of our main course arrived.. Thank goodness for conversation and more scotch. Half the table received their food, and the other half was still waiting. So those who had their food waited patiently for the other half to receive theirs. after 10 min, and the plated food started to get cold, the people who received their plates started to eat, and by the time many of them finished their plate, then the second half received theirs. it was a good 25 min gap between the first half and the second half. Poor execution. But the food was good, no complaints and the staff was attentive. I would reconsider another venue if you have a large party. But for 4 or less, it might be worth while going. would I go back, for a small group of 4 or less, but not for a larger group.

Yelp
Had a wonderful night celebrating our anniversary. Great feeling from the moment we arrived. The restaurant service was very attentive and the suggested Seabass was prepared exactly the way we love and Bolognese so delightful and filling. We are definitely going again soon.

Yelp
Steak was amazing!! Truly melt in your mouth. Kids spaghetti was also delicious. We all loved our dinner so much, we went back for breakfast (which was also outstanding)! We will be back.

Yelp
I think the atmosphere is pretty good and it is definitely a good place in the area for people to gather. Certain parts of the restaurant are darker and there may not be enough light even when it is daytime. The server recommended the meatballs, and I could see why. A picture of the meatballs was also on the website. They were made from pork, beef, veal, and tomato garlic confit, and the overall taste was a great combination of all of those. For both the snapper ceviche and the ahi tuna poke, there was not enough ceviche / poke but a lot of nachos on the side. The heirloom tomato & burrata was a good starter as well. Its taste could be off depending on the person's taste. To me, it was pretty good. In terms of the dessert, I recommend the chocolate molten cake a la mode. The crème brûlée was tasty as well. Overall it was a fancy place and one to go for special occasions. I would consider it a place that parties of 3 and above can go to when around the area!

Yelp
I came to Lela on Easter for the their buffet. It was I think $45 per person. We were able to get a reservation just a few days before but it was for the last time slot of 3 - 4 pm. The service was fantastic. Everyone was super sweet and friendly. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there which I think tells a great amount about the restaurant and management. For the grub they had a build your own salad set up, shrimp cocktail, crab/lobster claw, and fruit. For warm entrees there was potato puree, green bean casserole, soup, salmon, corn, and potatoes. The carving station had ham and prime rib. My favorites were the salmon, potatoes, and prime rib. I was super impressed by their dessert set up! I like that they were festive and went all out with the desserts and Easter treats for kids at the host table. The dessert spread was amazing! I loved the carrot cake and this walnut/caramel brownie, yum! P.S. Make sure to check in on Yelp for a drink deal!

Yelp
I had been to this bright, modern, inviting restaurant inside the Sheraton Hotel for a Yelp Elite Event at Lela's famous Not Your Basic Brunch Buffet, so I was really looking forward to coming for birthday dinner with the Other Deb. I was not disappointed. We got all dressed up to make the evening more special with the white linens and the crystal wine glasses, impeccable service and delicious food. We started with a cocktail and our server kindly told us to relax, enjoy our drinks, and he would be back in a short while. At the perfect moment he materialized and we ordered. Typical Debs, we got exactly the same thing: the beet salads and the lamb chops. The beet salads were composed of both red and golden roasted beets, goat cheese, and arugula on an artistic beet purée swath. Lightly dressed in a vinaigrette, it was the perfect start to our meal. The salads are not side salads, they are huge but quite light. Then came the main event, the New Zealand lamb chops. Six bones in pairs with a mouth-watering crust that caused me a slight problem. I wanted to pick up the bones and gnaw off the remaining meat but we were in a *really nice restaurant! Served on top of a creamy, luxurious roasted parsnip purée, the lamb was indulgent and addicting. How so? Well...let's just say I requested all twelve bones in a to-go box, warmed them up and gnawed myself into happiness the next day! Finally, because it was my birthday dinner, they brought a pretty little flan to celebrate. I don't like sweets, but the Other Deb said it was light, creamy, and scrumptious. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
My initial restaurant options for Valentine's Day were all booked, and thankfully I stumbled apon Lela with one reservation spot open! The restaurant decor and ambience was nice! Perfect to take someone on a date. For starters, I got the Burrata Salad and Pork Dumplings. Then I ordered the 18oz Ribeye Steak, and Mac and Cheese and Seasonal Vegetables (asparagus) as sides. My girlfriend got the Pan Seared Barramundi, Lobster Tail, and a side of Creamy Potato Puree . The Burrata Salad was a great start! With all the ingredients in one bite (Prosciutto, Arugula, Fig, Toasted Walnut Balsamic Glaze), it definitely was delicious. The pork dumpling was next. I was expecting something like potstuckers or gyoza. However, what I got was... quite confusing. It was wrapped and fried like cream cheese wontons, but with pork fillings. This is not a pork dumpling. It left me disappointed. I don't recommend getting it. Next came our mains with sides. The ribeye steak was cooked to how I liked (medium rare). Great natural steak flavor. A big slab of 18oz. There's no going wrong here. Was it the best steak or one of the best\top steak I ever had? No. But like I said, it definitely was a good one. My girlfriend's Pan Seared Baramundi was delicious! Good flavor and well seasoned. The crispy skin did get soggy from the juices throughout the meal, but it was still tasty. It also came with a good sized fennel salad. She said her Lobster Tail was alright, and liked the Baramundi better. I'm allergic to shellfish, so I'm not going near it. The sides were meh... nothing special. The Creamy Potato Puree and Mac and Cheese were big in portion. Enough to feed at least two for each of them. However, they (including the side of asparagus) were more on the bland side I would say. Sadly there were no extra seasoning on the table, and didn't feel like it was worth asking for. Lela is a nice restaurant. My girlfriend and I had a good time together. The food overall were decent too. However, it's not a restaurant that I would be raving about or want to be running back to right away. But, it's also not a spot that will disappoint. Overall: 3.5/5

Yelp
I was staying across the street at the Hilton but read the reviews on Lela and felt compelled to check it out. Sat at the bar where I had the food fortune to be served by Christopher. After enjoying a perfect slightly dirty Grey Goose Martini with three blue cheese olives (thanks, Christopher for making those from scratch) I started with the seared scallops and some sourdough bread. Awesome presentation and better flavor. Switched to a glass of Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc and ordered the Shrimp Scampi. The Scampi was flavorful and the sauce didn't overpower the shrimp, which was exactly how I prefer it. If you're in the area, Lela is definitely worth a visit and you'll enjoy it even more if you sit at the bar when Christopher is bartending!

Yelp
We came here for the Thanksgiving Dinner special. Wow, it did NOT disappoint. This was probably one of the best turkey dinners I've had! The meal started with a Purple Bulleit cocktail (which was good and strong) and the Lela Simple Salad (light and a large size). We ordered the turkey dinner for the main entree. It was served with carrots, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, and gravy. The portion size was generous and it had both dark and white meat. The turkey was moist and everything had good flavor, especially the gravy. For dessert, we had black coffee and the pumpkin pie. I couldn't quite pinpoint it, but there was extra maybe cinnamon in the pie. It was excellent! The staff was attentive and helpful. We had asked for extra gravy and it was brought out quickly. The restaurant is very open but tables were spread out so it didn't feel like we were on top of our neighbors. I'm looking forward to coming back to Lela to try their dinner menu.

Yelp
Great to have something nice so close to home, eggs Benedict was good, the plate it came on was cool..., lackluster. Sourdough bread hard to cut through. Maybe if it was toasted on a grill? My husband had the Lela omelet- now that was delicious. You know it's the small things that " chap me". I had to ask for salt and pepper ( it's not on the table), my husband had toast soft butter given.., BUT NO JAM! we asked for some.., our server said it doesn't come with jam.., he brought a nice little jar selection ( no charge)! THINK! what does my customer need here? Come ON!‍ All in all it was decent. Will be back for lunch or dinner. It's worth coming back to. And tip well- it's more the service sometimes that brings one back to try an establishment one more time. I know our guy didn't ask questions, but he was nice, did bring our food in a timely manner.

Yelp
A wonderful restaurant! Food is delicious but I am writing mainly for the service. Bartenders and hosts are all friendly and accommodating, but makes it special for me is the floor manager or lead server of this establishment! My colleague and I almost missed a flight if it wasn't for the manager. Without going in to detail, we owe this gentlemen A LOT!
