Your neighborhood cocktail bar with a stage
"This West Town bar occupies the large space on the northwest corner of Grand and Ashland. The cocktail menu is vast, and there’s something for everyone — the drinks are meticulously prepared, even as the space still carries a dose of dive bar; don’t judge a book by its cover." - Ashok Selvam
"At this come-as-you-are cocktail bar where the laidback atmosphere is a charming contrast to the impeccably made drinks, New Year’s Eve kicks off at 8 p.m. with DJ Tommy O’Rourke followed by live music from Family Junket. Three packages are available: $30 gets you access to entertainment, snacks, and champagne toast; $55 adds in two drinks; and $125 adds in all-you-can-drink access to special cocktails and well drinks." - Lisa Shames, Eater Staff
"Select cocktails are $10 from 4-6 p.m. at new West Town cocktail bar Lemon, poured alongside $8 glasses of sparkling wine and $7 mixed drinks. The bar’s goal is to put employees first and it welcomes other industry members and anyone looking for a nightcap with $12 absinthe suissesse, $8 carajillo and $2 “shitty beer” from 10:30-11:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 12:30-1:30 a.m. Thursday through Saturday." - Samantha Nelson, Eater Staff
"Since the pandemic’s start, there have been only a few new owner-operated bars in Chicago. Lemon is a throwback to the “owned by the people for the people” spirit with friendly bartenders who will make nearly any drink customers can ponder, including some very clever takes on classics. This bar doesn’t have a lot of fancy whistles design-wise, and that’s wonderful for folks who want a classic dive experience, but maybe actually want clean bathrooms. The space is dark but warm — ensuring everyone who’s not a jerk has a good time is the goal." - Ashok Selvam, Naomi Waxman
"Every Monday in June, buzzy West Town cocktail bar Lemon is collaborating with pop-up series Dyke Nite to celebrate music by and for queer people, exploring a new genre each week. The theme for Monday, June 10 is R&B and hip-hop with performers including TV Cam, PottiePocket, Jellomauri, and Linda Sol; on Monday, June 24, patrons can expect an evening of punk rock with musicians such as DMB, Vang! and HeirloomLocket." - Naomi Waxman
