We had the Fuego experience at LEÑA Marbella by Dani García. We really liked all the dishes, from the bread and butter served as appetisers to the mini burgers, croquetas, carpaccio, and everything in between. The staff were attentive, friendly, and professional, and the atmosphere struck a great balance between luxury and comfort.
However, we were quite surprised, and frankly disappointed, by the quality of the meat, which we had expected to be the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, we ordered it rare but wasn’t tempered before cooking, so it arrived very cold in the middle. More importantly, the flavour was lacking, and the cut itself was full of gristle and sinew.
Another unexpected detail was the cocktails. They were pre-made and poured from bottles, which felt out of place in such a high-end setting. In short, everything else was nearly perfect, which makes it all the more surprising that the one thing you'd expect to shine at a restaurant like this was what ultimately fell short.
That said, the desserts were absolute gems. We ate well and enjoyed much of the experience, but wouldn’t necessarily come back, especially when considering the prices against the overall expectations. The meat was a real letdown, particularly for a grill-focused restaurant, and ultimately the main reason we wouldn’t return.
