Lenny's Pizza

They have a good variety of pizzas, just wish there was a bit more flavor and originality. They’re good, just a little bit bland. My pizza was warmed up for me but was cold, and the bottom was hot. I recommend the thick Margherita slice as seen below. I was coming from the gym though, so I did look a bit messy… the staff were giving me very judgmental looks. I only go here because it’s by my house, the pizza as listed in the photo is the only thing worth buying 100%.

This was my first pizza place in NYC! It was delicious I have no complaints. My favorite was the Granny and the classic cheese pizza :)

I went here because I thought this was the place that Saturday night fever was set in but it wasn’t here. the same exact name but unfortunately this is a different place. be careful, don’t get the same mistake as me. being said, the taste was excellent I assure you that.

If you call for an order and they tell you to wait 20 minutes. Get ready to wait over 40 minutes. So slow and don't honor it if you call in first. Horrible service. They said to make an item on the menu it would take 20 minutes Not 40 minutes to an hour.

Lenny’s has been a regular in our house for 7 years. The Tuesday and Wednesday deals can’t be beat, but the grandma is our favorite 😍 The meals are phenomenal too, from the lasagna to the vongole, it’s all fresh tasting and made with care. Service is quick and pleasant, we couldn’t love our local pizza place any more!!!

We love this neighborhood place. Every kind of topping you can think of. Plenty of seating and good service and atmosphere. I really enjoy the Sauce on the Plain pizza. I keep it simple but delicious.

They have good weekday specials and open-air seating. I've really been getting into their pastas, and the portion sizes are great! The eggplant parmigiana is a particular favorite and so are the calzones.

Great midweek deals! The owner is super sweet and always coming up with great conversation. Love the energy and the pizza here! Pizza is made fresh to go, and they have great choices of pizzas. There is ample seating and the pizzeria isn't cramped.

I sometimes go here because it's across the street but I really wish they had more variety in their pizzas. Sometimes is a hit and miss , the counter service is good though

This is my nephew's favorite pizzeria so I decided to give it a shot. i love their Wednesday special of $10 for a plain pie. The pizza is pretty good and I really enjoyed their sauce. The crust is not my favorite in the neighborhood but overall a good slice of pizza.

This place is a hit or miss , the pastas aren't bad for the price. My only issue is the consistency. sometimes the food taste fresh and sometimes it tastes old. Especially the salads and cheeses. I've ordered salads that have had slimy cucumbers and old tomatoes. Now i usually just stick to the pizza and pasta . They also need to change their prices online because it doesn't reflect the prices they have now .

They follow some covid safety protocols where all staff wears masks and have sanitizers in place for customers to use. They don't have temperature checks in place or space out ppl that are waiting on the line. Anyways, I only get the plain pizza pies here during their Wacky Wednesdays due to their deal which is $10 for a large pie. I found out that they have a deal on Tuesdays too which are wraps. I havent tried that yet. Their pizza pies are good. I will keep ordering their Wednesday pies as it is affordable and a great deal.

Although I use to recommend this Place to everyone and anyone I noticed their change in staff and honoring coupons. I called to order three pires 24 wings and (2) 2 liter sodas and they would not honor any coupon that I had from them. I asked to speak to a manager to see what offers they had and the girl preferred to say it was old offers and she would rather cancel my order if I didn't want it. So I did. Rather order from another place who will honor at least one coupon and not Lose the whole order to be right.

What a great pizzeria! Was passing by & decided to stop in for a slice. So good! Also noticed they had a Tuesday special on wraps and fries for $5.50. Tried the California Chicken Wrap & Caprese Wrap with my Fiancé and we loved them!! So fresh & delicious, makes for a great lunch, especially for the value. This will be our new go to pizzeria for all they have to offer seems great.

A completely unmemorable slice. About the only thing going for it is that a regular slice is 3 bucks but it's worth it to spend more to get better quality elsewhere.

First time ordering and the gyro was good. The chocolate mousse was even better. Saved half the garlic knots for my coffee in the morning :-)

I got a medium vodka pie and it was ok. It did the job but I've had better. Would probably try some other local spots before deciding which one is my favorite.

Pizza is amazing and the pasta is out of this world. Still have things to order but so far no disappointment.

Good pizza, TERRIBLE service. The girls who take orders frequently forget/don't hear/don't care, causing me to wait far longer than one should for pizza. Last time I was there, I ordered 2 plain slices, a beef patty, and a dessert and waited for 20 minutes as other customers cycled in and out - this is because the girl who took my order forgot to go downstairs and get my dessert while I was sitting there waiting, as my food got cold - when she did realize that she completely goofed, she sent someone else downstairs, didn't apologize and instead had an attitude. It's a shame because the pizza is decent/affordable, but I'll likely stay away going forward unless I need a pizza fix badly.

Delicious food. I have been looking for a good pizza place and Lenny's fits the bill. I'm a huge salad fan and finding anyone who makes salad using arugula is like trying to find a unicorn (lol) well Lenny's make a great salad and uses my favorite lettuce. Chicken wings are fantastic, crunchy and tasty. Love the tiramisu

The Lenny's staff is very efficient and always so nice when I stop in for takeout. I love their Wacky Wednesday plain pie special and their pepperoni rolls are delicious! I've tried other spots in the neighborhood but this is my go-to for a weekday dinner after a busy work day.

I always passed by uninterested because I've established that Joe's pizza in the city is the one for me, but I finally tried it and it's a great solid joint right in Sunnyside! They have a $10 whole pie Wednesday, which is what drew me in, and I would highly recommend their arugula walnut chicken salad, a great compliment to your pizza.

Pizza has become bland in recent years. Space is not very clean (and tables stay dirty for a while). I think they gave up their liquor license.. no more beer here. Disappointing... Sunnyside needs a good slice place.

We ordered from Lenny's before but this day we wanted to have lunch at Lenny's. So ok, we had calamari, baked clams, lobster bisque and small spaghetti with anchovies. That sounds like a lot of food but of course we had some left over. Of all the dishes, we liked spaghetti with anchovies the best. They made this quite good. I'd like to try and make something like this at home. The calamari was not bad but baked clams we could do without, too much breadcrumbs in baked clams, I couldn't enjoy it. For the simple place like this, I was a bit surprised they serve quite good dishes. The service was good. Maybe I'll try something else from here next time.

I must have walked by this place a thousand of times if not more. Today I decided to try the place. They did have a decent after school crowd and I did have to wait a bit to get my order. The staff was very nice and friendly. When I first walked in there were a variety of prepared pizzas, fresh Sicilian pizza, buffalo pizza plus more behind a glass case.. I personally opted for a plain cheese slice of pizza for $2.25. I know that is boring but that is what I normally order. How can you get that wrong? It really looked good and it was nice and hot but after my first bite I found that this slice was nothing special at all. The crust was thin, crunchy but very bland. The sauce.... well there was no sauce on the pizza that I could taste, plus a thin layer of cheese. Normally cheese makes everything taste better but not in this case. I felt that the ratio of sauce and cheese on their pizza was really off. I felt as though I was eating a crunchy cracker with melted cheese. I ended up just ripping the crust off my slice and scraping the cheese down to the to the tip of the pizza and just eating that part of it (hate to waste melted cheese). I unfortunately threw the rest out. Don't get me wrong this pizza itself was just not for me. They do have an extensive and interesting menu that offers a variety of specialty pastas, salads, sandwiches, plus more.

Traveling 2 hours to get the Philly Cheese Steak Pizza !! Worthhhhh it The pizza tasted fresh and the so did the garlic knots. I wish I could give an extra star for the super friendly staff who helped me with other food items to try such as chicken roll.

They misplaced our delivery and kept telling us the driver was on his way. I hate that, so I cancelled the order. Ten minutes later the owner showed up, apologized profusely and gave us the pizza for free. They made a mistake, but they fixed it wonderfully. The pizza is really good. I'd order from them again.

They don't fellow directions when you order ,they give you the food the way they want .and you're the one that spending money.Bad service would not recommend it to my worst enemy.....

After a relatively shakey start, Lenny's has blossomed into one of the more stellar pizza joints in Sunnyside. With plenty of pizza competition throughout Greenpoint Ave, Lenny's has managed to stand out by offering some of the hood's heartiest slices / pies while remaining reasonably priced and tasty. When I first had their regular pie, the cheese was practically falling off the slices. The crust was burnt but the sauce was solid. A first glimpse of the now defunct Taco pizza (thank goodness), was a disaster. The pie was not only heavy and messy, but it the beef was completely unseasoned and the fixins were so bland that my group of pizza lovers and I actually didn't bother with more than half the pizza left. On top of that, the delivery was ridiculously slow and the website was hideous. Now more than a year into their existence and they've come full circle. The website is much better, delivery is fairly quick, and they've managed to turn their place into a regular haunt for many Greenpoint goers. Their slices when fresh out of the oven are decent and they've done away with the odd specialty pizzas and stuck to the simple stuff. Unlike most of the takeout pizza joints in the area, Lenny's offers quite a few tables for in-dining and has taken some consideration into their presentation with pasta dishes and pies. Not sure where to start? I recommend the vegan nightmares pie (i.e. meat lovers), a hearty pie that has no skimpage of meats featuring army of pepperoni, bacon, and sausage bits. Another popular one is their buffalo pizza, which is decorated with ample chunks of chicken and a nice drizzle of blue cheese around the pie. Kind of crazy in theory, but delicious in reality. I am hope they continue to do well. There is some service snafus from time to time, but I know the staff usually means well. I hope they don't succumb to the rising price tags happening all over the pizza joints but for now they get a 4 from yours truly.

Excellent food! We order from them mostly when we host group meetings for our company. Their food is always well prepared, arrives in time and I like that they label everything with a marker so there is no confusion who gets what. Today we ordered again, and everyone was satisfied. I got their "Our Special Insalata Siciliana" with grilled chicken. I must say, the salad is fabulous! Really fresh and has lots of goodies in it, like carrots, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and artichokes. Unlike most of other restaurants, Lenny's gives a lot of chicken!! :) I think I got a whole breast. My coworker said he loved his shrimp parmigiana, he gets it every time we order from them. :) I really recommend this gem place. Thank you!!

This is my usual go to pizza spot, however tonight I ordered a beef patty and got It with basically no meat. Called in and asked for another to be sent and this time It looked as if It was old. The guy on the phone had an attitude and so did the delivery guy when he came back. Will not be ordering from here anymore.

I ordered a meatball pie, a salad and some garlic knots and literally the only nice thing about what happened to me here was how quickly the food arrived. The pizza is absolutely perfect if you think that pizza sauce and Heinz ketchup are exactly the same thing. The crust could not have been more flavorless it was like a person soaked some flour in water and put it in the microwave and then put some shredded mozzarella cheese fresh from the underbelly of Jersey City. The garlic knots arrived and I could not eat more than a single bite they were so dry and tough and impossible to understand I thought I was watching Christopher Nolan's 'Memento' with my mouth. The salad by itself would've been okay maybe but they forgot to include the dressing so even that tiny portion of the meal that could've been salvaged was decimated by negligence. I can very confidently say this pizza restaurant is a blemish to the entire city's reputation and if you are in the mode for some undeniably poor pizza because you're a glutton for self destruction but you could save some money if you grab a slice of wonder bread, squeeze some ketchup on it and put a kraft single on top and call it a day.

Made the mistake of giving Lenny's a second chance based on sheer convenience. Regretted it immediately. Not only was the pizza just as overpriced and bland as I remembered (cardboard-like crust, toppings flavorless to the point of being chemically improbable), but I spent most of the night racked with severe diarrhea and vomiting from which I'm still recovering three days later. Workers seemed on the ball with adequate customer service, so I blame greedy owners cutting corners with cheap and possibly expired ingredients. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Lenny's is a neighborhood pizza shop. It's pretty tasty, their dishes are good. I just wish their pinwheels were cooked inside. Otherwise they are delicious. Their other foods are decent. It's a relaxed place to go with the family for a bite, the dining area is now open to for indoor and outdoor dining. The side opens up for sidewalk dining.

I stopped ordering from there a long while ago, every now and then I'll get something. But their food shows up cold, and I'm not far away! Guess I'm finished with them. I mean, you couldn't even keep a small pizza warm? Probably because you forgot about my order, until I called. Meh.

Great lunch specials classic nyc pizza in queens. What makes this place awesome is the free refills on drinks, including coffee!!! The semi outdoor seating is amazing on a nice weather day too :)

My experience at this place really kept me wondering if it was just me... Based on the other reviews and the crowd they usually have, I might tell you that maybe I just went on an off day, or maybe it's just really not my taste, but nevertheless, here is my experience: The first thing I noticed here is the decor. Very nicely put together and I love the beautiful chalk drawings outside as well as the art they have on the walls. When we first walked in there were a variety of pizzas behind the glass case. The guy behind the counter was a bit rude and made me feel a bit rushed. I can understand that they want to move fast but it was us and one other person on line, it's not like they had a crazy crowd at that moment. Anyways, it's a pizzeria, I'm not here for the service but figured it's worth mentioning, so on to the pizza. I opted for a plain slice and a grandma slice which looked nice and crispy. And my boyfriend got the chicken and buffalo slice as well as the chicken and onion. Total: $12.00. I also asked for a bottle of water. The cashier told me they don't have water. No water? Ok... I ended up going to the deli across the street for that and I'm glad I did because I really needed something to get the taste out of my mouth. When we got the pizza and sat down to eat, the slices looked really good. I love a slice of good pizza but after my first bite I was immediately disappointed. The crust was thin, and looked crispy but it was really a bit soggy and based on how white the bottom of it was, I can say with certainty that it was undercooked. As for the flavor, it tasted bland to me. The sauce tasted like garlic powder and nothing else. Not my taste. When I was halfway done with the slice, I started feeling sick, and decided that it was not even worth finishing. I left with a bad taste in my mouth and feeling like I wasted my money. Sorry, but this place was a total miss for me. Will not be back.

My order got delivered an hour later, it was margarita pizza. For the taste i would give 2 stars but was hard like a rock. The driver was by far the most rude and disrespectful person I ever met in my entire life. He threw the box of pizza at me and was very rude. I would NEVER recommend the delivery and the taste wasn't that great either that I would go back to that place.

I live within a block of two very reputable pizza establishments but last week I ordered from Lenny's for the first time, which is about 5 additional blocks, and holy smokes. Best Grandma pie I've ever had! Everything was spot on, and the dough was so delicious that even the crust on its own was great! I can't confidently give any pizza establishment 5 stars without trying a plain slice, or at the least being a repeat customer, but, we are well on our way to that!

Please please please try the grilled chicken Caesar salad pizza. I've tried a few other selections, but I keep coming back to this one. So delicious. I could probably eat a whole pie by myself

I was in the mood for something different so I had the Dijon chicken pizza it was delicious although it didn't taste like Dijon at all, it tasted like mayonnaise but I'd get it again. Slices are quite big so I decided to have another one but this time I wanted something more classic so I had the plain cheese pizza and was not disappointed. Overall great place, nice environment and reasonable prices.

I ordered a gluten free pizza. For a 12" pie, it was $30. When we ordered online we were told one price - $18, when I picked it up, I asked to pay another - $30. If that's not a bait and switch, I do t know what is. No manager on site to be accountable either.

Why did this pizza despising lactose intolerant Yelp reviewer step inside a Pizza shop? For pasta. Lenny's Pizza is the first pasta shop to show up on the radar located in the awkward 6 way cross street of Greenpoint and 44th. By far the best pasta I have discovered in Queens. As soon as I entered, the cashier warmly greeted me and directed me to the menus against the wall. The menu is quite extensive with variety of pizza's, pastas, and Italian food, quite overwhelming at first glace. I ordered a small (large available) linguine with clams in white sauce, my favorite of pastas. The cashier asked me to sit anywhere I'd like and after 5 minutes, delivered the food directly to me. This place is not fast food nor a restaurant, but provides fantastic service! The linguine with clams was elegantly presented with fine linguine in the center sprinkled with sliced clam bites and six little neck clams surrounding the perimeter of the dish all emerged in white clam sauce blended in olive oil. Also served was two pieces of freshly baked garlic bread and one soft bun. Slurping on the noodles and dipping the bread in the white clam sauce rendered total satisfaction. The finest of pasta was devoured here for the fraction of the price for this dish at another restaurant. Lenny's Pizza is truly an undiscovered hidden gem in the heart of Sunnyside and I will be returning!

Terrible!!! Experience & Taste. It took 45 minutes longer than told to me. I called 20 minutes after it was supposed to arrive & I was told it would arrive in 2 minutes. 25 minutes later it still had not arrived. It finally arrived, but the pizza was junk. I normally love pizza, but this place is garbage. It's open late & delivers, but save ur money & go to sleep hungry. I will never eat here again. If I could give negative stars, this place would get a negative two. I would rather be kicked in the genitalia by a bull than ever do business with Lenny's Pizza again.

Lenny's is a neighborhood fixture in Sunnyside and Woodside, Queens. Located on Greenpoint Avenue, it serves a variety of Italian specialties, including salads, paninis, burgers, pasta, lasagna, meatballs, soups and, of course, pizza. It is great for takeout or eat-in service. I have been enjoying meals there for many years. Louis, who has worked as a chef in several Manhattan restaurants, runs the kitchen. Everything is prepared fresh. Also I'd like to add that Benny, who owns Lenny's, has made a special effort to remain open during the COVID19 pandemic. In short, Sunnyside and Woodside are lucky to Lenny's. Great food at reasonable prices!

I wish I had reviewed this place before now. For years I have gotten pizzas delivered from here, and they have all been wonderful. On April 22nd 2017, I got a horrible pizza (It was a mushroom and meatball pizza). It tasted bad (the sauce), and it was waterlogged. Also, the crust had the hardness and taste of a crust that was many days old. The mushrooms were not cooked properly, and were watery. Also, I was walking by during this week and saw a woman inside with a dog on a chair. She was feeding it pizza!

Their grandma pie is second to none in the neighborhood. Super garlicky and the crust is beautiful!

It's one of the few places with a REAL fresh crust that doesn't taste like cardboard. This place does a great thin and CRISPY style crust. Its really good. The Buffalo chicken pizza is decent. The thicker specialty Sicilian style slices are great too but not a big fan of the dough. It's very crispy almost like a giant cracker. I'd avoid those and stick to the regular thin crust. The REAL gem here is the Classic Margherita pizza. One of the best pizza's ive ever tasted. They use a fantastic sweeter sauce. Definitely worth trying. $7 for 12" pie $13.75 for 18" cheese pie, $2 per topping

Pizza is delicious! I love me some good pizza and I must say this is definitely a good spot.

I actually haven't tried the pizza here yet, because I'm usually ordering on Seamless for just myself.. God knows if I ordered a whole large pie, I would eat the whole large pie in one sitting! I am freaking addicted to their Alfredo sauce!! I find most alfredo sauces to be disappointing, and just tasting life cream without flavor. Theirs is DELICIOUS!!!!!!! Made with herbs and parmesean. So flavorful and rich but not too thick. I always add some black pepper and chili peppers and its PERFECT. Their pasta options are pretty standard, but dang that sauce is soo good! I'm also a HUGE fan of their garlic bread, especially the one with fresh mozzarella melted on. OMG. Get this please. I have yet to try the garlic knots because I keep ordering this, but based on reviews they sound good and I'll be trying them soon! Can't wait to try more on the menu!

I love Lennys. Lived in Sunnyside for 3 years and this was my go to place. Pasta, pizza, soup, they've mastered it all. The staff is amazing, so friendly, helpful and kind. Once I ordered for pick up and my hands were full, The delivery guy even held my dog so I can free up my hands. I've gotten delivery here many times and they were always on point. The restaurant itself is dim/warm...love it. When the weather is nice you get opened windows. I will continue supporting this business even hough I have moved. The staff are just such wonderful folks...diligent, hardworking and attentive. The food is absolutely delicious. The restaurant is clean.

Bad food! I ordered around 11:30, but arrived at 2o'clock. The bread was super hard. I ordered chicken and fries, when they arrived, they are mashed? Just not like chicken and fries any more! Waste my money! Do not order or go to this restaurants!

Me and my friends went here a lot throughout high school. They had (or have?) this sweet deal where we can buy 2 slices and a drink for $5 as long as we ordered before 3 PM. I love how much cheese they add to the pizza and how easily available the sauces are. They even gave me a great deal on my 16th or 17th birthday. It was also fun seeing soccer games there while eating.

The largest pizza place I have found in Sunnyside so far. Their pizza seems to be more Chicago Style Pizza than New York Style Pizza: the crust is thicker and the toppings are deeper. I am a huge fan of the Cheese Steak Pizza. My eyes say pizza but my mouth says Philly Cheese Steak.

Stopped here on way home from city. Food was great & nice quick service. Will be returning here with friends for sure.
