Leon Gessi New York Pizza

I went in hoping to get a vegan pizza. Sadly, they didn’t have a plant based cheese. However, the person taking our order said she was vegan and made a recommendation. The veggie sub made vegan was great. My wife enjoyed her salad and several slices of pizza. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. I do wish they had dedicated vegan offerings on the menu. The menu did say vegan options available.

We got their Tuesday special, which is a free cheese pizza with purchase of 2 topping pizza. We ordered a mushroom and olive. Both were ok but the crust was bland and missing any flavor. But the up side is that the pizza was better cold the next day.

I ordered 2 topping 2 slices only, no sauce for me, and paid for additional toppings. It was really good! Next time I'll ask for less cheese though. About 4$ per slice was a good deal!

I ordered a chicken pizza with one topping. The way u order the sides online comes on the side literally in a cup. The chicken I asked for was very minimal it's like they are told to take some off at the end before baking. Overall a $25 pickup pizza with no chicken and toppings I had to put on myself left my very disappointed after this place has been hyped up all over the internet.

This was our first time trying Leon Gessi’s after being in CoS for 2 years! I was so excited after all the HYPE online. Once again, Springs food overpromised and under delivered. 🥹 This is their “Meatball sub”- made with GYRO meat- straight from a box. Absolutely disappointing and overpriced and NY would NEVAH. 😂 The slice of gluten free pizza was a duplication of a frozen Totino-esque abomination. Why must people lie about good food in CO? It does not exist and it’s so overpriced it’s not even funny. 😄 🥹

Leon Gessi is easily my favorite pizza spot in Colorado Springs. The New York-style pizza is legit—crust is light and airy but still has that nice crisp. Super tasty every time. Prices are really fair, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. They usually have good music playing, and the whole atmosphere is just chill. My kids love coming here too, which is a huge plus. Whether you live nearby or you’re just cruising through town, definitely worth a stop!

What a place! AUTHENTIC NY pizza. The kind you have to fold and dripping in delicious grease (in a good way!!) ((iykyk)) Has an awesome family owned feel with family pics up. Cool gold medalist signed pans from the 80s too. But the pizza? Not only the best NY Style I’ve ever had but one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had PERIOD. AND I EAT A LOT OF PIZZA! You have to try this place, plus BJ’s is just next door for the literal cherry on top! Staff was awesome, super fresh, tangy sauce, stringy cheese.. what else could you want after a day of Trail Riding?!

Amazing service and Amazing NY Style Pizza! Cute place inside and cute tables that reflect a NY style vibe. Hard workers getting each and every order out as quickly as possible! We asked for the pizza to be ready at a certain time and they did not disappoint! It came out exactly on time!

We have not been here for a couple of years, and decided to ride our bikes over on a pretty day. I was greeted by a cheerful, friendly young person at the register. The decor is very "New York-esque" which perfectly fits for Lyon guess's New York pizza! We chose to each have the daily special since we could customize our slices of pizza. My husband had tomatoes and onions on his slice, while I had onions and pepperoni on mine. The special also comes with a large, beautiful salad, and a roll, which appears to be made of pizza dough. There is also a drink and all of that is only $9.49! They brought the salads to our table, and we were amazed! Fresh lettuce with chopped tomatoes, pepperoncini, sliced bell peppers, black olives, and dressing on the side, all accompanied by the delicious roll made of pizza dough, I think. A few minutes later, our slices were delivered. Well, I am not usually a big fan of thin crust pizza, this slice was done enough that it held together when you picked it up and was very, very tasty! Next time we come, we may try their calzone as that also sounds wonderful And their pizza dough is absolutely fabulous.

I've been coming here for years !! This is a great place. Fun famiky neighborhood corner pizza place. BUT they've been slipping in quality lately. Less cheese on pizza, dough burnt, dry pizza bit tasting fresh , less salad on plate. Rolls still good and the dressing is the best in town. Service fantastic and prices fair but they've aren't as good as they used to be

Walking in to the store has a great atmosphere with tables that had a glass on top of a map of New York. Usually to me that means the establishment is either really good or somewhat decent. Their Buffalo Chicken Sandwich was great but not amazing. The spice was off. Their pizza is decent but when you want to take it home it gets cold too quick when you do takeout. But the quality of their ingredients is quite fresh. That is why I rate it 4 out of 5.

Such an adorable little pizza shop! Located on a corner lot, right next to BJs Velvet Freeze. They have great lunch & drink specials. Service was prompt & friendly. Make sure to order at the counter before you sit down.

I never noticed this pizza joint until my co-worker pointed it out even though I drive past it multiple times a day for work. So we decided to stop him for a bite. The pizza was pretty good and the service was very good as well. The staff were very kind and the wait was not too long for 3 sizes of pizza. It's a very neat little hole in the wall pizza joint that I will be coming back to again.

Finally! Real New York style pizza! This is the place! I had found my go to place when I lived in Arizona but these guys do it right. Everything from the crust to the sauce to the cheese are done absolutely perfectly. Now with that being said, Slice420 is the go to spot for more gourmet type slices but they can't do a cheese or pepperoni that well. Slice420 also doesn't reheat well. Leon Gessi reheats well and is overall my new favorite. Would have uploaded photos but the pizza was gone too quickly.

Amazing pizza! It has the hole in a wall, Family-owned and friendly feel. I've been here 3 times and the pizza has been great every time. This place came in clutch when I failed to make dinner plans while I had friends visiting from out of town. Luckily I was able to show up very last minute and they were able to seat all 12 of us. Of course, pizza was great. I've only been here in the colder months but they do have outdoor seating. I think it's be a good add if they put in some type of arcade games to keep the kids entertained while we're waiting for the pizza. Overall, this place is legit.

YUMMMMMMMMMMMMM. This place has great music and feels like New York. Definitely for a person who went there for vacation last year.

Perfect!- if you like a good old fashioned, neighborhood pizza joint this is your place. Competent, pleasant staff, taking care of business. They make it their business to take care of you. Not fancy, a little crusty but very good pizza. They seem to have multiple spaces including a patio area to choose from. We ordered a small basic pizza with one or two extras and a salad . Price was very reasonable, salad dressing was delicious and pizza was hot and tasty. We will likely return. One of the best pizzas we have had in a while.

In town for a vacation and decided pizza is what we wanted. I prefer to avoid chain pizza with some exceptions. As a native of NY I always seek out NY pizza. This place was right off the Main street. Parking is available in a small parking lot. Seating is small booths by where you order but there are tables and booths in the back. We arrived around 630 on a Saturday and they were busy. We got lucky because 10 minutes after we got there the wave hit. The line was 12-15 deep. Some takeout, some dine in. We walked up to the counter and ordered 4 slices of pepperoni and cheese sticks. The guy working was friendly and answered all our questions. We sat at a booth and our food came out in about 10 minutes or less. The slices were good size. The cheese was good well melted. Sauce was good as were the pepperonis. The crust was good the only issue I had, sometimes with slices this happens, the edge crust was a bit overdone. The pizza had a nice fold and droop when held up. This is an important thing in pizza, if you, you know. The garlic bread was good just a pizza crust with garlic and cheese. I would definitely recommend this place and would go back. Nice clean place no frills.

Delicious pizza! Friendly staff. They can even do your pizza dairy free you just have to bring your own cheese if you want cheese!

Good grief! Please turn the volume down on the music. We changed our minds, skipped getting beers and took our so-so pizza to go rather than staying. If I wanted to go to a bar with LOUD MUSIC, that would change my rating, but this is supposed to have customers eat there and order drinks. They must lose business due to the crazy atmosphere. Certainly the mark up on beer is better than their pizzas. Not returning.

Pizza is a floppy mess nothing close to a New York style pie about it! Don't give this dump your business you are better off at papa John's!

Ok, first, let me start by saying I love this place. Pizza is great! Calzone was amazing. The dough was delicious, plenty of meat, and was very filling. My only wish is that they had desserts other than just a cookie. Of the food items I've tried, the wings were not the best. Will not get them again. The breading was very heavy/ thick and soft, not crispy at all. I will be going back because the rest of the food is amazing, and for dessert, there's always bj's next door.

This has always been my favorite pizza place in Colorado Springs! I've been coming here since I was a kid, and today I was able to show my friends how great it is! I always recommend the daily special because you get a salad with their homemade dressing, roll, and a slice of pizza! It's so filling you won't need anything more! I love that this place is still a mom and pop owned, so you are supporting a local business, and that just makes the service so wonderful because they are proud owners! Stop by and enjoy a slice of heaven!

We've been coming here for years, and not once have we ever had anything but exceptional quality pizza. My husband loves their calzones as well. We came in today for a quick bite and were so happy we did. My husband got a calzone, I got the daily special which is a slice and salad, my son got a 10" pizza and my daughter got the pizza kids meal. Everyone left so happy and completely full.

pizza was really good but was disappointed in my wings :/ it wasn't busy so I could've waited if needed but didn't check until we got home.

Not bad! Not great. Specialty pizza looks the part, but does it deliver? This place is a half step above the competition in the area, and their location next to BJ's Velvet Freeze is ideal, but this is the kind of pizza I can eat half the pie and feel like nothing happened. Probably a good problem to have as a pizza shop owner, but as a consumer spending $20+ dollars on a 16 inch (15 inch) pizza, I'd prefer to feel full after a slice or two! Either way, the dough had a decent flavor, the toppings were good and the sauce existed but thats about it. No memorable flavor in the sauce, but again it wasn't bad! The free cheese pizza (coupon on website) was as flat as a pancake but it served its purpose as a freebie! I suggest just folding the thing in half and calling it a day. Will we be back? Maybe! Our quest to find actually great pizza out here continues..

This is a great place to go for slices and drinks without breaking the bank! Comfortable atmosphere with friendly service too. We will be coming back often to try more of their menu!

This was our first visit. From the front driving by it looks small but it actually has a lot of seating. When you walk in the menu is on the wall, order at the counter, take a number, & when it's really they bring it to your table. It got the kitchen sink. It was so good & not greasy. A great find! Enjoy

Great family neighborhood pizza place! They also offer salads, gluten free pizza and sandwiches plus choices of beer. Dine in or take out. You order at the counter and they bring you your food, then you bus your own table afterwards. Staff is very friendly, and our lunch service was quick! I like that they offer whole pizzas or by the slice. If you order a slice, it's still freshly made with a large selection of toppings. Decor nicely reflects NYC. Food tastes great, very reasonably priced and I recommend you give them a try!

My wife and I were out for date night and idk how we chose this place but so glad we did! Everything was just perfect! Their buffalo cheese bread is addicting and had a small but real nice selections of wine. We ordered the kitchen sink pizza and it was hands down the best supreme pizza I've ever had! I'm a pizza snob, and I can honestly say this is the best pizza I've found in Colorado since I moved here 12 years ago!

I'm from out of town, visiting family in the area. My sister strongly suggested we all hit this place up for dinner while we were there. Forget the chain pizza places because they do not compare to Leon Gessi NY Pizza. Best pie I've had in a long while and reasonably priced.

Order at the counter. If you sit inside, you are freezing or sweating, depending on where you sit. The ceiling fans blowing at a high speed in your face. Took a long time to get our pizza and believe me it was nothing special. We would not go back -between the atmosphere...the ambience and the pizza quality. I don't know why this place has such good reviews. I wanted to try it for a long time. Such a disappointment the only thing it's got going for it is been on for a while and it's convenient to the ice cream shop next-door. and there's no close competition. and it wasn't cheap.

There's been few places that Ive wanted to give a 5 star review to more than this place. The old school ambiance from the old worn booths to the checkered table cloths. This place oozes old time pizza joint. I walked in thinking this is the kind of place that I want to come to every day order a couple of slices and sit there and let the nostalgia wash me away to childhood. Unfortunately the pizza and the cheesy garlic bread that I ordered were the definition of mid. Pizza was slightly undercooked and chewy and the sauce didn't stand out to me at all. Cheesy garlic bread tasted like it was made on a premade piece of dough delivered from Sysco. It wasn't terrible and if you're hungry it will fill that empty spot but sadly the food just doesn't match the ambiance. I feel safe to say that if Dave ever reviews this place its a solid 6.4.

Guys, I can't even believe I'm typing this right now but I just had a PERFECTLY NORMAL regular slice of pizza from a pizzeria in Colorado Springs, Colorado that tasted exactly like any pizza I've ever had from Long Island, New York (where I had pizza on a weekly, if not daily (at times) basis, for 20 years). The place is called LEON GESSI NY PIZZA and the address is 1806 Palmer Park Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80909. I can't believe I've lived here for two years eating trash pizza and I finally found a normal pizzeria just like home!!! This is one of the most significant days of my life since moving to Colorado. I can finally enjoy a regular slice again! Check out the photos: They even had few gallons of Carlo Rossi red wine sitting out on the counter!! That's when you know it's authentic NY Pizza

This is an amazing pizza restaurant. I was in the mood for a slice of pizza and I happen to drive past this restaurant, so I stopped in and ordered three slices of pizza; I was thoroughly pleased. The pizza was very good and the service and hospitality was exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy New York style pizza.

If you don't like leons then you probably don't like pizza. Great food, good prices, and the staff is always nice. 10/10.

I was hungry on a Sunday afternoon so I decided to try Leon's after a short stop at work. Great pizza. After eating my slice I was trying to figure out when my next visit will be.

Now I remember why I stopped going here over a year ago!!! The razor thin pizza ,they seem to think that light sauce means light everything, or just load it up with cheese!!! And $20 for that!!! They should be charging $5 a pizza because that's about all its worth!!!

Great little family owned place. Service is great and the pizza is delicious! I love all kinds of pizza but I loved how fresh tasting theirs was. Definitely one of my favorites here in the Springs.

What's not to love about his place?! It's got a mom and pop feel and killer New York style pizza. At a great price, you can just keep eat pizza until your hearts content. This spot is in our neighborhood and we order pizza from here often. When we call a pizza order in, it's usually ready in 10-15 min. They are speedy, which is good because we are usually hungry! This pizza is a crowd pleaser. It's just effortless and good. It's pizza that doesn't need to cause a fuss and doesn't need frills to make it edible. It's just simple and good.
