"The latest restaurant from Alamo City’s busy Empty Stomach Group, this downtown slice shop is an unpretentious stop for lunch or weeknight dinner. The pies cover the basics, adding pizzas like the wild mushroom L.C. Special and the sausage and blue cheese combo The Coach. A pair of salads, frozen custard, and a handful of cocktails complete the picture at this easygoing storefront. Takeout orders can be placed online or in person; there are DoorDash and Uber Eats deliveries; and there are indoor and outdoor dine-in areas." - Brandon Watson

Absolutely loved this place! Hands down the closest we have gotten to NY style in SA. The staff are great and whole vibe is so NYC. Loved the window bar seating. It reminded me of Brooklyn. I just wish the windows opened bc it was pretty warm/stuffy in there. The LC style pizza was perfection. The crust had just the right amount of bite for a perfect fold. The sauce is flavorful and I loved the roasted garlic cloves and strips of basil. Our slices were so good we had to get a whole pie to go. Parking is pretty sketchy. The closest lot was like $27 but if you're cool to walk, you can park a couple blocks up for $5

Been so tired of the usual pizza places like Pizza Shack. Walked over from work with co-workers and it was good. Price was what would be expected but the flavor was great. The Mad Dog was a good spice & sweet mix to activate the tongues flavor zones. I also got the mushroom and the pepperoni. All were great. Don't forget your punch card to get a free slice after a few visits.

We got a $15 pie because it was Sunday! House veggie supreme and half pepperoni, it was made fresh and we were very happy with it. They also have frozen fuzzy navels, FYI. I want to take a special moment to mention the fact that they have an inclusive bathroom and a family bathroom. Bonus points to Leo's!

Stumbled on this place while staying at the AC Hotel. We first noticed the smell, and then passed by and saw the decor and knew we had to stop by on the way back from our destination. The atmosphere was fun and "vintage". They sell whole pizzas or pizzas by the slice ($4) which is what we ordered. It reminded me of this place I stopped at in New York! So delicious and Fresh. We went back a second time towards the end of the night to grab another slice before closing at 12am! Definitely recommend if you're in the area, the Saga is just around the corner as well! So grab a slice and go watch the free show 😊

11/7/24 ordered for my first time this afternoon. I attempted to drop in yesterday, not paying attention it being noon, and there was a line out the door. So today I went later in the day. I called ahead and found out there wasn't a cut-off time on slices, and they except cash. I was parked a few blocks away, so I ordered ahead. It was ready in less than 10 minutes, so it was definitely reheated slices. But with that said, hey, I give it to them. $10 for 2 slices and even reheated they still tasted good and crispy. The crust was a little hard at the edges because of the reheat. The peperoni had an interesting sausage taste, the cheese slice tasted parme so no extra parm was needed and they were a little greasy for me but i still enjoyed them. It had me curious and wondering how good their fresh pizzas taste if this was just quick to go slices. Definitely will be back 🔥 11/8/24 was working next door and called in again to go to eat on the go. Friendly staff, was ready really fast, which still gets me like ehhh but if you need it fast, you'll get it fast, so that worked for the moment. Bummer, though, the pepperoni broke on the fold. That's never a good sign. But none the less it still tasted well. Word of advice, though, if you're eating on the go, don't sprinkle parm on your slice if you're walking around the buildings it'll just blow away. 11/13/24 :/ attempted ordering to go right at opening to see if there's a difference from my previous orders and my slices went cold faster than when I've purchased them late in the afternoon. I'm still very curious about a fresh pizza one day, but I might have to hang this up as the slice stop.

Google
Very cool place with great pizza! It feels like stepping back in time with loads of nostalgia. It's great for a quick cheap bite downtown. It's definitely a hidden gem!

My daughter says this is her new favorite pizza. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun. The pizza is yummy and by the slice so very reasonably priced. Great for families as well!

Yelp
We made it to the restaurant 10 minutes to closing and their staff were amazing and made us a fresh whole pizza. The GM was awesome and very accommodating. He gave my boyfriend a sample of their new beer to try. The pizza was phenomenal. Definitely made with fresh ingredients. It is a pretty garlicky flavor but lots of cheese and pepperoni.

Yelp
I was in San Antonio attending a work conference. Leo's Hideout is located downtown next door to the Element San Antonio Riverwalk and a block away from the Riverwalk. Leo's Hideout is the recent eatery from Empty Stomach, the restaurant group known for creating fun restaurant, bar, and nightlife concepts throughout San Antonio that focuses as much on the employee experience as the patron. The old-school pizzeria is known for its pizza by the slice, whole pies, beer, and pinball. The eatery gives old-school (70s and 80s) pizza parlor vibes, from the memorabilia (including a basketball scoreboard) to its soundtrack, booth seating, menus, and pizza boxes. I ordered two slices each of The Coach (sausage, double onion, bell pepper, jalapeño, bleu cheese) and Mad Dog (smoked Calabrian sausage, hot honey, pickled jalapeños, ricotta cheese). The slices were generous in size (NY style), very flavorful, and I would happily eat there during my next visit to San Antonio.

Yelp
We came by since we wanted to finish watching the college football playoffs. THis place had the game on. $40 for 2 slices of pizza, a side salad, a beer, and an iced tea. I found my slice kind of cold. the salad had the tops and stems of pepperoncini chopped up in there. Iced tea was good and so was the ambiance. chill. unpretentious. i liked the old memorabilia. Would i come back? sure, friendy staff, but kinda pricy for what i ordered - i feel like costco pizza is slightly tastier than this place. jmho.

Yelp
I'm always looking for a decent NY style pizza in Texas since leaving NYC. Typically most places disappoint ( too bready, cheesy, soggy, etc.) I stumbled on to this spot and absolutely loved the pizza and vibe. It's a very retro (cozy seating, neon signs, dimly lit dive bar lighting) pizzeria that sells pizza by the slice. The pizza was perfectly thin and crispy with a great crust and charred undercarriage. The ratios we're just right and the cupped pepperoni was great. My wife tried the mad dog slice with ricotta, sausage, and hot honey which was also great. Overall loved this place, really hope we can see more of these outside San Antonio.

Yelp
Nice selection of ready-to-go slices and whole pies. The frozen bourbon & coke? Well, darn, that was unique. Look, when you walk in, it smells like an old school slice shoppe. The food came out promptly, and the crusts had a "real pizza" char. Just enough, that is. You can get one of the classics or House pies as we did - a slice each of the Mad Dog and the LC Special. While both were beyond great, the Mad Dog won the night. You can do a whole pie, too, either of the Classics/House pies or create your own. Additionally, they have a couple salads, if you are in the mood for something lighter. They are only a long block from the San Fernando Cathedral, down Soledad.

Yelp
Came here for pick up. They were having a $15 pie special which was awesome. Their indoor space was dive bar-esque. You can def come here to watch a game and have some pizza. We came here because we were told they have NY style pizzas and we're originally from NYC. We ordered the LC Special and Mad Dog pies. They were generous with the toppings and cheese. The LC Special had a kick so if you want a spicy challenge this is your pie. The Mad Dog was savory and pairs well with red wine. It def reminded us of NYC pizza however, there is something off with the texture. It's probably because it wasn't made the NY tap water but we're a long ways from there so this is as close as you can get. The only reason we gave it 4/5 instead of 5 stars was because they told us pies would be ready in 20-25 min and when we got there, they told us it was another 15-20 but they're conveniently located by the Riverwalk so we just walked around there until it was ready.

Yelp
New York Style pizza by the slice. Super fast, cheap, and delicious. Friendly, fast service!

Yelp
Leo's Hideout is perfect if you're looking for a fun, laid back vibe before a night out. This sports themed pizza joint has it all, pizza by the slice or a full pie, a solid bar, and some pretty epic frozen drinks. Stopped here before heading to the Aztec (it's just a short walk away), and I'm glad I did! The pizza hits the spot, and it's the kind of place where you can chill with friends, watch a game, or just vibe out before the main event.

Steven T.

Yelp
Just had an "LCs Special". It was Amazing!! Honestly, I'm 60 and have had Hundreds of Different Pizzas. This by far The Best!!

Pooja N.

Yelp
Great late night spot! Friendly staff and plenty of seating. Love the by the slice concept that we don't really see around here. A lot of cool decoration on the walls. The pizza was delicious and fresh! Love that they have great vegetarian options! No hard with pizza We will absolutely come back to try the veggie slice.

Lydia N.

Yelp
I got to come for their $1 slice opening day! The place was packed and there was a line out the door and wrapped around the building at lunch... So I came back closer to 5 for dinner and it wasn't nearly as busy. The gal taking my order was super friendly and gave me an estimated wait of 10 minutes for my ordered pizza slices. It took 30. Not going to hold it against them because it was not a typical day. I ordered a few veggie and a couple pepperoni slices to go. The slices were hefty slices - 1/6th of a pie. The crust was medium thickness and had a good chew and flavor. The bottom was blistering black in a lot of spots, so it was well done. Cheese was generously used, making the top a little oily. Veggies were the classic mix of red onion, green bell pepper, mushroom, and olives and were perfect. The pepperoni were smaller 1" slices, but looked so cute all puckered up on the pizza. It was quite tasty and I'll be coming back for a lunch slice through the week. Their specialty pies looked amazing (but weren't $1 that day) so I'll be trying those next time!

Valerie H.

Yelp
A great addition to downtown! We stopped in after bar hopping on the riverwalk and I'm so glad we found this place. They sell pizza by the slice but we opted for a full pizza which was huge, can easily feed 3-4 people. I love all the sports memorabilia that covers the walls, no detail was left untouched. There's a good amount of indoor seating and a few tables outside for side wall seating.

Tyler W.

Yelp
One of the best options if you're looking for a good slice in SA, which is actually super hard to come by lol. They've got pies, slices, drinks, and more so I would say check them out for all they have to offer! They have a great Sunday special that you can check out on their IG that we've gotten before :) they're also open til like midnight so in case you are looking for something other than fast food after a late night, you know where to check out!

Yelp
Turning 42 is a big deal for me and on my actual birthday I decided to drag my parents, sister, bro-n-law, nephew, and my dude to a new pizza spot in downtown San Antonio on a Sunday afternoon. I have to admit that the reason I chose Leo's Hideout for my birthday spot was because of how nostalgic the place looked from their website. This spot is happily reminding me of the 1980's/1990's feel of going to a pizza joint. The vibrant colors of green, orange, and cream is super nostalgic for me when you pair it up to the bold smells of pizza baking in a hot oven. I love all of the vintage sports banners, pictures, and team representation that is happening here. You will look and find something along the walls and say outloud, like I did, "WOAH Do you remember when the Cowboys had this design going in the 90's?!". Pizza was HUGE and delicious. We ordered two pizzas that was waaaaay more than enough for 7 of us. The slices are really New York extra large size. If you don't think you can commit to such a large pizza I would recommend you take a couple of slices. I had the slice with mushroom and sausage in addition to the two pepperoni pizzas we got for the table. I ended up getting a cheap pitcher of beer to have with my company but I believe you can order pints/singles if you would like. I also saw some frozen options too that would go perfect with your pizza slice and the game you want to watch. They have tv's here too so you can come in and watch your game (basketball, football, golf, you name it!) here. Service was fast and friendly too! Many of the workers were surprised I was down to have my birthday get together here and gave us plenty of extra plates and silverware for the cake we brought in to celebrate. I appreciated their kind service and made sure to throw them some extra money for tip and even a slice of cake for each who wanted one.

Yelp
My boyfriend and i love coming to this spot. It's always open later, which we love cause we work late a lot of the time. The mad dog pizza is soo good! And i love the caesar salad !! It's super chill and has an 80s vibe to it. Boyfriend loves baseball so MLB is always playing on the tv! It's a great casual date night spot. And the service is great! All the staff are welcoming and friendly.

Daniel R.

Yelp
Thin, crispy and delicious ! LOVED the pizza and the atmosphere at Leo's Hideout. It's hard to find quality pizza in San Antonio, but Leo's knocked it out of the park. We went during the lunch rush, the service was still fast and friendly. Can't wait to go back !

Brittany S.

Yelp
Place is AMAZING! My Italian fam LOVED the pizza and cold beer. Pepperoni pizza is a must. Service was over the top. Very clean! We all bought shirts! Thanks for a great experience...we will be back!

Jessica P.

Yelp
Great spot for lunch if you work downtown. You can order pizza by the slice or a whole pizza and they also have salads. Pizza is delicious and if you're coming by to have drinks the drink prices are affordable for being in the downtown area.

Emily G.

Yelp
Great pizza if you love new york style. Ambiance is what really made me want to come check this place out, very retro vibe. Also opened late. Perfect spot to come with friends after a night out! Parking was a little bit hard to find but we got lucky and found a spot on the street. Service was good

J S.

Yelp
Pizza joint was recommended by a server at a local bar. Outstanding pizza by the slice. Kiddo n wife got the the Mad Dog special and both loved it.

Alyxa T.

Yelp
Grabbed a slice & salad. Chill music and vibes Service was nice and food was good. Definitely coming back for a whole pizza

Kate K.

Yelp
I was in San Antonio for a birthday celebration and we were at the Maverick getting a drink. An employee there recommended this spot for pizza- I love getting recommendations from a local! Since Im from Chicago I have high pizza standards, but Leos didnt disappoint!! Its a very casual pizza spot where you order at the counter and they give you a number (an uno card specifically). You sit at a table and they bring your food out. You can order full pizzas or just slices. They also have salads and drinks. We each order 1 slice of pizza and a salad. This was plenty of food! Slices were NY style- dough was crispy and tasted fresh. I didn't love the artichokes in the Caesar salad, but that's just a preference thing. I ordered the LC Special and when the employee brought it out she told me that there should be more basil on the slice and took my slice back to add more. Really appreciated that! I would go back there! Overall experience 4/5

Juan V.

Yelp
Very good! So happy eating pizza here! $14 for a pitcher of beer, not bad. The food was so good and the service was great! Will definitely be back! If your looking for food pizza, try this place!

Justin S.

Yelp
Service was excellent the manager Melinda waited on us and was very informative on their selections. We tried the Mad Dog which had ricotta, sausage, and jalapenos finished with Hot honey which was surprisingly delicous. I highly recommend this place for a quick slice of great pizza and local beers on draft.

Zac A.

Yelp
I will give this place the benefit of the doubt being as though it was the night of the Ford River Parade. BUT, we waited an hour for three SLICES of pizza (not an entire pie). After waiting an hour we asked for an update and was told another 20-30 mins. They kept taking and making the phone orders but weren't serving the people right in from of them!!! Terrible experience, so we ended up passing on the pizza and asked for our money back. That took forever too. Anyway, the pizza is decent. Could be less over cooked. Cool aesthetic of a place tho.

Roxy R.

Yelp
Wow pizza is so good LC Pizza is absolutely delicious Wild mushrooms roasted garlic basil Words cannot describe the deliciousness Also get a fuzzy navel Pepperoni pizza was great the pepperoni was crispy small cups and great flavor

Christina B.

Yelp
So disappointing when you want to try a new place and their doors are closed with no explanation why. There were employees inside and no sign on the door saying they were closed.

Randy B.

Yelp
We were in San Antonio enjoying the riverwalk for the weekend. We came upon Leo's and bought a quick slice for our grandson as a snack. But we immediately knew we would be returning. And it didn't disappoint!! The pepperoni pizza with a few jalapeños was amazing!!! Slices are huge, so you might want to ask them to cut a little smaller if kids are eating. And the staff were very accommodating!! We will return.

Judith G.

Yelp
This is the perfect little pizzeria! The ambiance is very laid back, decoration is also very cool, like a gameroom basement from the 80s. The pizzas are by the slice or whole pie which was exactly what we were looking. We ordered the caesar salad and I must say the dressing was very flavorful and unique, I think they make it in-house. The service was excellent, the place is clean. Loved, loved, loved this place!

Gabriela G.

Yelp
It was a great family experience. Great value in Sundays and and inexpensive way to hang out downtown with the family. The ambiance was fun and reminded me of pizza places of my childhood. Great service too!

Chuck R.

Yelp
New York style pizza that actually tastes authentic. Fairly reasonably priced and has a cool 1980s pizza parlor/sports bar vibe with music to match. Counter service, pizza by the slice which is ready almost instantly if you order one or two like I did. I do like that you can get a single slice, as I work close to here and don't want a whole pizza to drag home after work. I hope Leo's sticks around, I'll gladly be a regular.

Ara N.

Yelp
Great customer service, good food at a low price. Two slices, soft drink $ gratuity and still under $20. Pizza was crispy just the way I like it

Keely M.

Yelp
I love Leo's! I had ran into Mandy at a restaurant nearby and she told me to check it out. My friend and I did and we loved it! The staff took care of us. Everyone was so kind. The pizza was delicious. They have the pepperoni cups which I LOVE. It was giving New York pizza. Or even 6th street pizza lol aka delish. The vibe inside is so nice. Old school sporty vibe. Perfectly decorated. Loved loved loved it and will be back! Thanks Mandy for not letting us miss out on this spot! Oh.... And they have drinks. They're yummy!!

Chea S.

Yelp
Best pizza in San Antonio. My kids will only eat proper New York style pizza and this is the only pizza they will touch in SA. They wish they could leave "infinity stars" on this review. We will definitely be back!

Susie M.

Yelp
Great pizza.. great atmosphere.. good service! I really don't have anything bad to say about this place. We are visiting San Antonio and wanted pizza. This was a really good choice.

Kelli B.

Yelp
The Caesar salad was great but my slice of pizza was burnt. It was a busy night and service was good for takeout. It may have been better to order a whole pizza to avoid the reheating of a slice that got burnt.

Emerald L.

Yelp
Great late night pizza!! Fast and friendly service!! Highly recommend after a few drinks before heading home!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Such a great find downtown!! Leo's has a great slice of za. The service is so friendly! Adriana is truly a gem. Check it out!!!

Gil H.

Yelp
The pizza is great at Leo's. It was our first time visiting from Houston and the staff helped out right away. They got us taken care of and we enjoyed delicious pizza and a Caesar salad. We sat inside and enjoyed the ambiance as it is both adult and kid friendly. Again, all the food was delicious and we will be back for sure.

SA_ A.

Yelp
The service was great! We asked a lot of questions and the staff took the time to answer. Food was prepared quickly and OMG delicious

Skylar M.

Yelp
Wow! This place has great slices. Try the mad dog. It's got some seriously fantastic jalapeños offset by a hint of sweetness. AMAZING! And this place has killer decor. Love the old school pennants and scoreboard. Great service!

Christopher G.

Yelp
Food was on point. Great customer service. I had the mad dog and the LC which were both great.

Gerardo R.

Yelp
I have tried many pizza places during my lifetime and this one is on my top 5............ Awesome Pizza, Great Service, Great Atmosphere

Joey L.

Yelp
Amazing new york style pizza. Great crust, very crispy. Would recommend. Will come back to try other pizza. They have beer on draft and tvs.

Frank

Yelp
Reminds me of Buffalo pizza. Must get the hot honey on the side it is a great addition to their pizza. I recommend telling them not to put the garlic butter on the crust. Has a weird taste.

Emily M.

Yelp
I had to take pics of the case on the way out because we ate our's too quickly! Super cute nostalgic place. Pizza and Cesar salad were great. Cheap drinks. Food came out fast and the place was really clean. We will be back when we return in April.

Luis R.

Yelp
Very yummy pizza, big single slices. Will definitely come back. Hidden Gem. Put out larger Ad sign

Armando C.

Yelp
I never received my order!!! This business charged my order and when I called they told me to dispute it with my credit card and hung up. This is by far the worse service ever received.

Lauren O.

Yelp
I went in to Leo's hideaway for my work break and the vibe was awesome with really cool decor. The employees were very friendly as well. Dana was great, she informed me of her favorite pizza which was the mad dog slice. I ordered that and a tap beer. They also validated my parking at Rand garage. Great experience, I highly recommend!
