Leo's Superfood Vegan Cafe

03/23/2025 I ordered the breakfast burrito bowl and the garlic chicken keto bowl. I's funny because I live less than a mile away and I haven't been here for so long and never made a review. Their food is healty and have keto menu and the service is always great even now that the business is under new ownership.

My husband and I have different dietary needs and finding good gluten-free and vegetarian options can be a challenge. We came here for breakfast and were thoroughly impressed! I got the southwest breakfast bowl and was a little skeptical of scrambled tofu, but with all of the seasoning and veggies, it was delicious! My husband got the super food burrito and loved it, great flavors. Only downside was the food took a while to come out because they had one cook. There's a small amount of seating inside and some outside. Friendly service. We'll definitely be back!

Got the grand slam. Never would have guessed the pancakes were both vegan and gluten free. Everything was delicious. The sausage and eggs are definitely vegan, but taste great. Service was excellent, excited to try other things.

Great little vegan eatery. I’ve been there 3 times already and only found it a couple weeks ago. The food is terrific. I was there once for breakfast and had their breakfast scramble and I came back twice for the chicken Alfredo. That is just an amazing dish. Wonderful place to grab a quick amazingly delicious bite.

When I went a couple years ago, the owner (I think named Leo) still worked there and the food was great, I had a good experience. When I went in June, only one person was working there, and there were only taking online orders. The food was, felt pretty overpriced. I was asked to eat outside in the front tables, and I ended up helping a few customers coming in after me while waiting outside because the person inside couldn't hear anyone knocking / had the door closed. Firstly I really appreciate that this restaurant exists, gluten free is hard to find, and for vegans I'm sure it's the same. But I don't make a lot of money, I don't eat out a ton, and I personally wouldn't recommend the restaurant in it's current state. Hopefully things improve for them.

I've been here a few times and it never disappoints! The portions are generous, the food tastes fresh and healthy and the menu is very expansive; offering everything from pancakes, to breakfast burritos, pizza, pasta, loaded fries, burgers, pastries, you name it! I've brought non vegan coworker's here and they love it too. I've ordered both take out and dine in and the food is always quick and the service is friendly. I love that they have a parking lot as well as easy street parking. I don't live in the San Fernando valley but I work out there and try to visit when I can, but my boyfriend and I have made the trek out a few times just to eat here! Please expand to more areas! And if you haven't eaten here yet, do yourself a favor and try it out!

This is a great spot to have lunch. You can order ahead to puck up or eat there. All the food is very tasty and the service is great, they are very friendly. We ordered the Breakfast Burrito, Breakfast Quesadilla and the Breakfast Pesto mini-rito. All were very tasty, but our favorite was the pesto one. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone, not only vegans.

The torta de milanesa was exquisite. I really enjoyed it. 😍. The green sauce was almost the same taste as my mother green sauce. I love the green sauce my mother makes. The Black Iced Tea was great. I like the fact that they made it less sugary. Perfect. 👌. I appreciate the service here 🙏. Thank you.

The crunch wrap is so delicious and I truly enjoyed every bite of it. I always pass by this place but I never got something, since I started eliminating meat from my diet so I have limited places to order from, but this place won my appetite. Today I called and place an order for pick up, so I showed up 15 min after and the food was ready. This place is a small cafe but enough chairs and tables if you want to dine in. I highly recommend this place.

Some of my family members do not eat egg or meat but consume milk, making this cafe perfect for us! This cafe is even more perfect for vegans! We did not have to worry about ordering the wrong dish or about having meat bits in our food. The dishes were absolutely amazing and I wish I could give more than five stars. Everything tasted very fresh and we could tell that everything was carefully prepared. The cafe is small, but the space has been utilized well in terms of seating, as there is plenty available. The service was exceptional as well. I will definitely be coming back!!

Five stars across the board. Leo's is fantastic. From the food down to the customer service, we really enjoyed our first time here. Now for the good part. I ordered the super foods burrito and it was moist, bursting with flavors and a bit of a kick too! My husband has the special, The Grand Slam. Dare I say I had the best vegan pancake I've ever tasted? So good. The prices are also very reasonable too. My vegan lovers and good food lovers: just try it. You won't be disappointed!

The food was good, and the owner was friendly. As a vegetarian, it's nice to be able to order anything off the menu. We all enjoyed our food, and I enjoyed talking with the owner.

What an incredible surprise this was! We were on our way to lunch and made a U-Turn as soon as we saw the sign. Leo's has a great diner vibe. Service was immediate and friendly. So many choices, wonderfully prepared. Especially loved their pancakes and we took plenty of donuts home. My favorite vegan donut anywhere ever. Even got to meet the sweetheart of an owner. He asked questions and even listened to some of our excited suggestions for them to "go global." Because the world needs more Leo's!

My family really liked this hidden spot. It is hard to find healthy, good tasting fast food and fast this place is it. It was especially liked by the vegetarian. Nachos were great and so was the sandwich we got. We will be back. It was a treat.

Very satisfying to say the least. I was looking for a good vegan place in the valley. This one lives up to its rating on yelp. The almond latte was super tasty. The Crunch wrap was tasty and packed with protein. The cheese quesadilla was a bit small, but the consistency of the cheese was just right. Only thing, I wish there was some kind of sauce or another cheese to elevate a bit. Overall, very happy with my foods and looking forward to coming again.

Tasty vegan food & baked goods at a reasonable cost. We ordered a cake and when picking up, decided to order breakfast. The staff was very friendly while we waited for them to prepare our stuff. They also have an ingredient list for their baked goods which is a plus. Will be returning in the future!

This is my third visit. I paid $25 plus a tip for food I didn't even enjoy nor eat. So this time I decided to try something new. I didn't tip this time because I wasted my money the last 2 times. The lady who handed me my food, didn't even say thank you. I truly believe it was because I didn't tip. I really enjoyed the sandwich this time, but I won't be going back! Why do restaurants who don't serve ask for a tip anyway! I called in a phone order and drove to pick it up and brought it back to work to eat, how does that equal a tip! I'm a tipper but I won't be buying from, nor tipping this place!

I live around the corner and this place is pretty great. I don't go too often just because I prefer to make food at home. But anytime I go they don't dissappoint. Even their donuts that I wasn't sure about at first, I've grown to love. And I've gotten their breakfast quesadilla which is great. If you're vegan definitely give this place a try. And even if you're not, try it anyway. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Food- Fire. They take so many precautions with being gluten free and avoiding cross contamination! They are also fully vegan. Service- Wonderful people, Leo is an absolute delight to speak to and everyone that is apart of his staff seem to be very genuine, educated, and kind hearted people. Ambiance- very lovely vibe... gives hole in the wall in the best way possible. I always feel very at home. P.S. ~ they also work with TooGoodToGo, an app for foods that are about to get thrown out but can be bought for super cheap! Less food waste

I've reviewed this before, but this time I drove out to it. ITS AN ENTIRELY GLUTEN FREE RESTAURANT!!!! My gluten free self was in heaven. As always I always buy wayyyy too much! Also I had been a vegetarian but gluten free vegetarian was so hard to come by and hit my nutritional goals. I'm a flight attendant so I'm on the road about half the month! So I always come here when I'm nearby. New favorite the black bean quesadilla!!! It is stacked and just amazing. Loaded up with the perfect balance of avocado, mushroom, black beans, and soy beef. I also just am not a cheese person and it's super light with the "cheese." Not sure if it's real cheese because it's called superfood vegan gluten free bakery. But regardless delirious and cokes with coleslaw. Protein pancakes amazing. I forgot to ask for sugar free syrup but dang it was so good!! Perfectly sweet by itself! Donuts I tried maple and chocolate. Again, for gluten free they're great but I would say if your looking for a carb-y food get the pancakes or a muffin instead! But if you have to get a donut get maple! It's the best! They have nutrition facts for the baked goods and that's awesomeee. Protein pancakes are only 6.55g protein. Worth every penny. And customer service is incredible! Always a great choice!!

Although I am not a vegan, I do love eating vegan food, especially at Leo's The owner, Dave, is so sweet & the staff is great too!

What an awesome find at in the middle of the Valley. LEO'S SUPERFOOD VEGAN CAFE is found in a fairly busy strip mall with its own free parking. There is no line to get in. When you enter, you have two options on how to order: using the kiosk inside the entrance or at the counter. There is limited seating space inside. It didn't take too long to get my GARLIC PESTO "CHICKEN" KETO lunch. Wonderfully seasoned. The "Chicken" has a great texture. The portion is large. Every employee that interacted with the customers were friendly and so accomodating. The drip coffee is FANTASTIC! Unfortunately, they don't sell their beans.

Had Quinoa Power Bowl for lunch today and it was delicious. I will definitely be back and make this my go to spot for work lunches. I'm not really a vegan, but have quit eating red meat, pork and almost chick. Better than I expected, really good

My family and I are big on vegan food, and we're always on the lookout for our next favorite spot. Well, we definitely found it at Leo's Superfood Vegan Café! This place is a sanctuary for lion lovers and anyone who's after a warm, welcoming vibe. What really makes Leo's stand out isn't just the food, which tastes and smells so good that even non-vegans would be impressed, but also the incredible customer service. The staff are kind, welcoming, and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The dishes are perfectly seasoned, not greasy or overly salty, and the hazelnut latte is a must-try, hot or cold. For anyone in search of delicious, healthy food and a friendly atmosphere that feels like you're being welcomed into a family, Leo's is the place to go.

The breakfast chorizo quesadilla was very cheesy, salty, full and indulgent. Loved the veggies in it. It gave the dish more texture and flavor. Enjoyed it with the salsas and chalula The Breakfast burrito is always a go to fav. This time we tried the beyond meat option and it looked like a sausage. I liked it and it was generally enjoyable. It was on a more peppery side and the vegan cheese stood out. Service was quick and pleasant. Would def come back again.

Finally a menu that satisfied my plant-based needs!! There's so many options. It was also so delicious. I had a burrito and tried some protein pancakes. David provided exceptional service. It was a great time and I'm definitely going again

I got the protein pancakes with a side of coconut whip cream and the vanilla latte with oat milk. First of, the latte was delicious! 2nd the protein pancakes were absolutely delicious. They were fluffy, sweet, and pretty big in size. These are definitely shareable between 2 people. Service was great, no line. The young lady that helped me seemed welcoming and friendly. The restaurant was surprisingly empty for dine in & I was there around 12 pm. I did notice a lot of people were picking up their orders and also their phone kept ringing and they were taking phone orders. So don't be fooled if it's empty! The atmosphere was pretty chill. Super clean. Quick service. Good quality of food & coffee. Prices are more on the high end.

Breakfast burrito is great! I got it without the vegan eggs. Service is excellent very nice people. Also enjoyed the music. I will be back to try more of the menu

Staff were friendly and helpful. The space is quite small and reminds me of a tiny donut shop I went to growing I up. Not many seats and not the nicest looking environment. I love bold colors (yellow is my favorite) and animal prints but this place is like a crazy circus. It's loud yellow with giant lion faces all over the place inside and out. They are really into their logo. There was easy parking in the lot on a Saturday afternoon. I got the crunch wrap which was quite tasty. My partner got the breakfast burrito which was delicious. Many of the items on the large menu are very similar with only slight variations. We split two donuts: Pros: they are vegan and gluten free and not overly sickeningly sweet. Cons: the texture was gummy and the flavor was not great. I'm guessing because they use sorghum flour which is nasty in my opinion. I do not recommend their donuts at all. But I do recommend stopping in for quick meal.

Just happened to drive by while shopping for a car. We saw LEO's posted all over out front in this little strip mall. Bright yellow and blue caught our eyes!! The wife is vegan, and I'll basically eat anything. We stopped in, and BAM right up front was the desserts glorified in all they're beauty... Donuts, cupcakes, cookies and cake ALL VEGAN & Gluten FREE!!! We shared a Maple donut, damn it was good. So buttery and soft even though vegan. The wife had the crunch wrap and I tried it. Sooooo delish... She asked for a side of nacho cheese and dipped it in it We also shared the vegan Chorizo Fries with some vegan chicken on them, they were FIRE I ordered the Hot Hash bowl with the vegan burger on top, so many flavors going on in that bowl. Service was awesome, Food AMAZING!! Bathroom was clean and nice, kitchen area looked good. Only complaint: not sure the AC was working right. Would had been a more comfortable eating inside experience if the temp was right. But that did not take away from how great the food was here. Portions were big too I must admit.. If you can't have gluten and are vegan, this place is the spot for you!!! Head over to Leo's they have a hell of a menu, I'll be back to try a few other items that caught my eye.

Picked up my surprise bag and it's not worth it. Nothing extra ordinary about their donuts. One of the donuts has after taste. If you are trying not to eat donuts that are not too sweet then these are not for you.

There aren't many Vegan spots in the valley, but I don't mind traveling now to find a better one. Extremely unprofessional. I ordered a cake three weeks in advance for a Bridal Shower and the day of the event "they forgot to make it." Given that you pride yourself on your vegan food and baked goods, I would have thought you would be more professional. Horrible experience for what should have been a happy occasion.

The food at Leo's was ok, I had the black bean burrito- two complains the rice was hard and the burrito was open face burrito, tortilla got stuck to the wrap. I order a burrito to grab a bite not to eat with a fork. I also had the pancakes those were Amazing, Service and the place was excellent smells good walking in and friendly staff. Am I going back, YES 100%

The most unprofessional people I have ever encountered! We ordered and paid for a cake for my sister's bridal shower 3 weeks in advance. The day of the event we called to confirm the pick-up time and they had the audacity to say "sorry we didn't make your cake but we can have it ready for Tuesday! 2 days after our event!! We had a Bridal shower with no cake!! They didn't offer to give us another one, just "sorry our baker is not here today so we can't make you another one."

My first time trying Leo's and I was blown away! I ordered a cheese pizza and a maple donut for delivery. Pizza arrived hot! When I opened the pizza box I was confused by the brown bread-like crust at first. Then I realized that Leo's is vegan AND gluten free (I am neither). Holy cow the pizza was delicious! Loved the sauce, great amount of "cheese" and the crust was thick and not burnt like many gluten free crusts tend to be. The cheese had a soft melty texture that was really nice. The outer edges of the crust had a really nice crunch to it too. It was the perfect size for one hungry person (I'm not sharing!). The maple donut was delicious too! The frosting had a delightful sweet maple flavor and white sprinkles. The donut was a little more on the firm side, not fluffy like a regular donut, but it was such a nice little treat. I would definitely try more of their flavors in the future. Next time I'll definitely come by dine-in and I'm looking forward to it!

I've been passing by this cafe and finally decided to give it a try. #SupportSmallBusiness. The front counter person was very knowledgeable about their menu and super helpful. Especially since I am still a carnivore. The cafe's ambiance is chic, simple, and clean. We decided to dine in. We ordered Audrey brought us our food and it was very flavorful. She made some excellent recommendations. I look for to trying this cafe again in the near future.

Fuego Fuego food. The service is amazing. All staff seem to be dedicated to quality service and food. The vibe is great too. Love the music selection. So glad I decided to take a chance on them. I drive by daily to drop my daughter off to school.

Hey Vegan Lovers . . . so I went to Leo's for the first time and had the breakfast plate. It was full of flavor and very good. Also it is a very large plate of food that easily makes two meals. I hope Vegans will come and support this cafe as I was informed they had to cut the hours open because DWP has been blocking the road for the last couple of months. So please give it a try and support a Vegan Cafe making the world a kinder place

I absolutely love this place because I can eat anything here and still feel energized and healthy after! The menu is huge so i bought a few things intending to try and have the rest later because i got too excited seeing all the options. At normal restaurants, I'm usually trying to find the let healthiest thing so I don't get like i got gut bombed unless I'm ready to take that risk but at Leo's it's all friendly! They have their big bakery case and delicious treats for a sweet fix, etc. Or you can really eat clean here and not have to make your whole kitchen a mess at home! They have the healthy quinoa power veggie bowls for the super clean eaters and the almost-like fast food craving style but all plant based like sandwiches and crunchwraps too! Their iced Leoccino (like a Frappuccino from Starbucks) is great with sugar-free vanilla and it tastes like Starbucks with out all the hormone /antibiotic laden dairy milk mixed in. I got the keto style breakfast bowl to try because I'm trying to eat less carbs because they can put me in a carb coma after. It was really good and I still light after but only needed to eat 50% of the keto breakfast bowl to feel full so I'll have more later. That's wild- usually if i ate an entree at many normal restaurants I'd still be hungry after because of whatever in it isn't real food that fills you up. Their food is filling because it's REAL food, not a bunch of fillers. Also, I tried the fries with beyond beef and also really good and fresh! I got a little bit of a naughty junk food taste without it making me feel like crap after and fully plant based. If you want a great and healthy routine then go take a nice exercise walk at the nearby Lanark or Balboa park then go get some Leo's iced coffee (they source their coffee beans locally and the super friendly founder told me about it!) There is so much care put into this business and the owner clearly cares about spreading healthy, caring habits in a real, accessible way for all. No judgey V vibes here. If we had more plant based and GF places instead of McDonald's chain on every corner then we could be a healthier and happier society definitely! I had eaten lots of junk food in my life and noticed after I'll feel exhausted and unhealthy while my body processes it after. After eating at Leo's, I felt light and healthy not like I need to recover from being kicked in the gut like a lot of fast food places leave you feeling. They have free WiFi so this is a great place to go and have a friendly study / laptop session or meet up and get some delicious but healthy coffee and treats. The food was good, service very friendly and fast, fun and cute atmosphere with happy lion decor, convenient location with decent shopping center parking, love the passion for a healthier planet from the founder, chill environment at 1pm on a Tuesday! I'll be back and happy to have a place where I can order anything and still feel vibrant and healthy after eating it! I love to see this- creativity and healthy and tasty options all in one! P.S. I would love if they added once in awhile baking / cooking demos or workshops especially since the owner has so much knowledge about this! Baking donuts like this would be fun!

I'm not vegan but we have heard a lot of good things about Leo's Cafe. The flavor made the food! It was good The place was clean and the customer service was good I will recommend and I will Do it again how much is it return I dined in and wasn't a fan of the plastic plates but I'm grading the food it was delish!

5 + if hotter. It was very good and tasty. Service was 100% the best. Look at pics as they show it all. Extensive beautiful menu well put together. I will be back for sure.

Amazing as always the workers here are such amazing people. I'm blown away by the chickpea wrap since it also has sun dried tomatoes and the chocolate cake tastes so decadent without any of the sugar. I'm coming back again

Sorry...don't know how people love this place if it's not for the cute marketing (why it's 2 stars for me and not 1). All the baked goods tasted liked bran muffins with vinegar mixed in with the worst vegan cream cheese money can buy. Had different flavored cupcakes and donuts. All looked like they could have been made in those Dash appliances meant for mini donuts and such. Most vegan baked goods I've had in my life have been tasty but the ones here were terrible. Wouldn't return. Bad flavor and super overpriced for ridiculously small portions.

Love Leo's super nachos are my go to...but I've enjoyed everything that I've ordered from their menu. Often taste is sacrificed when ordering vegan. Not here! Food is delicious and you can always expect friendly service! Good job Leo's!

I have been meaning to try this place for such a long time and today I decided to stop by for a quick bite. They have so many options for vegan and gluten free since everything here is vegan and gluten free. Honestly they get five stars just for that, so many restaurants market themselves as gluten free and vegan when they only have a few options. I love that this place is affordable for healthy food, I am a huge health food enthusiast: mainly gluten free & organic but I have been eating plant based a lot. Disclosure: this place is not organic and doesn't advertise themselves as organic. The customer service here is absolutely amazing, super kind, they have a rewards program you can sign up for. Also they serve breakfast anytime, you can come at 2pm for a breakfast burrito and coffee, which is amazing! Parking is decent, in a good shopping center with other stores. I tried the mac and cheese and red velvet donut, the food was okay. I am a huge snob so I would give it an 7.5. I am just so glad places like this are around that can give people healthy options. Definitely better than a starbucks or dunkin donuts. Will come back in the future to try other items.

The atmosphere in the cafe was very welcoming. The vegan cupcakes were so good. The lady behind the register was very nice and helped us with our order perfectly.

I was craving some vegan desserts and this was the closest to me! I was so hungry that I ate my blueberry muffin and part of my berry cheesecake before I took a photo. I wished the muffin was sweeter (I enjoy sweets when it's healthy ) but it tasted great with my homemade coconut cold brew. Their menu is very detailed and lists all ingredients and allergy alerts! I also recommend that this place serve coconut cold brew bc it's the perfect spot for it!!!

Trying to eat more plant based meals so ran across this place and it DID NOT disappoint. Not fancy at all, everyone is super friendly and EVERYTHING on the menu is vegan. We wanted to order one of each. My husband got the breakfast burrito (served all day) and the I ordered the quinoa power bowl-both delicious!! We ordered the "chicken" pot pie to go because she said they usually sell out super fast. We also ordered a few desserts to take home. Would highly recommend this place!!!!

The vegan and health food options are what drew me here and, though the food wasn't bad, it didn't wow me either. My husband and I ordered the same thing - Leo's superfood burrito and fries - yet his came out 20 min before mine. I ultimately waited about 35 min from placing my to go order to receiving it. Not a big deal but just a little odd. The superfood breakfast burrito: 3/5 It was hailed on the menu as the house favorite so I decided to try it. I love veggies and tofu and thought this would be a good intro to Leo's. The preparation of the tofu tasted much more like sloppy joe than scrambled eggs, which was a mild turnoff. The burrito itself was fairly small, not quite as big as my hand. Probably a good thing for healthy portion control but I can't typically finish my burritos elsewhere and this one was easy to get through. I thought the veggies were well seasoned but was a little disappointed that the cheese in the burrito and on the fries was in no way melted. The accompanying slaw had no sauce whatsoever and was literally just shredded cabbage. Fries: 4/5 I got the sweet potato fries with cheese and lime sauce and the flavor was top notch. I loved the taste of these fries and unlike other restaurants, the sweet potatoes actually taste like a potato - not too oily or over processed, just right. Only knock here was that the cheese on top was not even remotely melted. Maybe that's how they're prepared here but I was expecting cheese cause, not shredded. Overall, I'd probably come back and try something else, perhaps the quinoa bowl. The prices are very reasonable (though the $4 in add ons my husband got weren't worth it to him). I'm definitely a fan of the natural food focus and support that kind of lifestyle. The staff was kind, despite the wait, and the shop was clean.

I found out about Leo's Vegan Cafe during peak quarantine (2020) & was finally able to visit. This is a hidden gem in the SFV! The breakfast burrito was very yummy! Will be going back to try other items on their menu
