Les 110 de Taillevent Review - Marylebone - London - The Infatuation

"We’re still struggling to pronounce the name of this place, but all you need to know is that it’s an excellent modern French restaurant in a space where you’ll feel like you’re having dinner inside the world’s largest wine vault. Les 110 de Taillevent is all about the finer things in life, and is there as a perfect spot for people who have already figured out that the best things often involve great wine, a comfortable place to sit, and stellar food. Speaking of food, the cuisine here is unabashed Gallic fine dining, with luxury ingredients like foie gras and truffles all over the menu – and the execution is never less than flawless. It costs, but we’ve never been disappointed, and it’s an experience that’s worth the price of admission. It’s a good call for a special occasion, and your parents will love it, too." - David Paw

Les 110 de Taillevent

"Under the aegis of the prestigious Taillevent name, this ultra - chic brasserie puts the onus on food and wine pairings. The concept is a success, with its remarkable choice of 110 wines by the glass, and nicely done traditional food (pâté en croûte, bavette steak with a peppercorn sauce etc). Elegant and inviting decor." - Michelin Inspector

Blind tasting the ‘secret’ wine pairing in opaque black glasses is a unique and amazing restaurant experience. For lovers of wine this is can’t miss. The ability to do more than a hundred different wines by the glass is nearly unique. Even if you don’t want to taste blind, for lovers of wine this restaurant is Valhalla. Highly recommend.

Really nice resto, I enjoyed the food and the service was very good as well. The wine list is Mayans the wines by the glass are a reason to visit alone. The Vol Au Vent was SPECTACULAR!!! Best I have had, so rich, sweet, earthy and umami! I will come back for that for sure.

A perfect Parisian experience from start to finish. My parents stopped in for a quick visit yesterday and were warmly welcomed by Victor, who was incredibly charismatic and genuinely passionate about the restaurant. He invited us back for dinner—and I’m so glad we took him up on it. We made a reservation for the full dinner with wine pairings, and it turned out to be the best meal I’ve ever had. The steak was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor, and each course was thoughtfully paired with exceptional wines that elevated the entire experience. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the ambiance was refined yet relaxed. Les 110 de Taillevent is a true gem. Victor and the entire team made the evening unforgettable. This is a must-visit if you’re in Paris and want a memorable dining experience.

Google
I had dinner at this restaurant last night. While the service was friendly, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. First, the wine list is outrageously overpriced, both by the bottle and by the glass, with no clear justification. Then, two rats ran across the dining room during our meal — a truly shocking sight — and neither the staff nor the management took any action, simply telling us they "couldn’t do anything about it." The dessert (a strawberry millefeuille) was completely tasteless and lacked any flavor. And to top it all off, there was no commercial gesture or even an apology offered in light of this string of issues. A disastrous experience I absolutely do not recommend.

Came here for a lunch celebration, food was so good and so is the vintage champagne 🍾 Definitely coming back for dinner soon 🩷

Google
Our evening at Les 110 de Taillevent, turned out to be a culinary revelation. Easily one of the most delectable meals we've savored in Paris over the past few years, this restaurant was a delightful surprise. The dishes, while elegantly presented, boasted a beautiful simplicity that elevated each flavor. Standout among the culinary symphony was the semi-cooked tuna, its virgin olive oil condiment sauce achieving a flavor and texture that surpassed typical "seared tuna" offerings. From the organic egg with mayo and caviar to the red mullet viennoise, and the Grand Marnier cordon rouge Soufflé, each plate showcased outstanding craftsmanship. Les 110 de Taillevent proves that true magic lies in the art of blending seemingly simple ingredients into extraordinary culinary experiences. A memorable evening that sets the standard for our future dining adventures in the heart of Paris.

Google
Food is amazing. They can customize their menu for vegan and vegetarian options (I'd recommend mentioning this in your reservation). Very good selection of wine and the sommelier is very professional and enthusiastic. We enjoy the pairing and conversation with the sommelier. Service is very attentive and friendly. We encounter a small incident with another customer, the manager immediately checks in on us and pays extra attention throughout our dinner. Overall, it's a fantastic dining experience and everything is amazing!

Yelp
Excellent lunch in a chic restaurant, friendly and professional service and beautiful food along with extensive wine list. RESERVATIONS / ARRIVING Reservations online were easy to make a couple of weeks in advance. We had a late afternoon lunch reservation and we were shown our seats immediately. SERVICE TEAM: We were 5 minutes late, but the staff was very friendly and welcomed us in, I really appreciate that the service team was so kind. This was the same throughout our meal; impeccable, professional, we did not feel rushed at all even though we had a later afternoon reservation. ORDERING / FOOD / WINE: There's an extensive wine list, and also wines by the glass and categorized by price point, which was very easy to read with the color-coded icons representing types of wine and their characteristics. The menu has a set menu option for lunch. We were recommended two signature dishes by the restaurant, including a Paté En Croute, which was a mix of meats with foie gras encased in pastry. We started our lunch with gougeres which were airy and cheesy and made us hunger for more! We ordered a menu set and also the signature appetizer. Everything was excellent. A small paper on my glass of wine neatly identifies which wine it was which was chic and handy. The entree of sea bass was cooked beautifully with crispy skin and fresh local vegetables. The dessert we chose was strawberries with ice cream and cream, with shavings of lime and also crunchy bits below and a poured strawberry sauce on top. SUMMARY: Wonderful experience, would love to return to try the other signature dish and anything on the menu. The taste level is so good and we felt taken care of the whole time.

Yelp
Our best meal in Paris. Kind of an unusual place in that it's a cross between its 1 Michelin starred sister restaurant and the other side- a Brasserie. So haut cuisine at a discount so to speak. We found out about it from a fellow traveler. Started with Fish carpaccio and squid dish - both superb. However the highlight was the duck and foie gras pastry and a seafood pastry with a foie gras sauce. Richly decadent and absolutely perfect. We complemented the meal with a bottle of St. Emilion Grand Cru. Desert was a chocolate mousse served warm - exquisite About €225 all in for 2. A keeper.

Yelp
Wonderful atmosphere and the bar area is so nice. Servers are excellent , friendly and speak English well. The food is super tasty and just right size proportions. I would greatly recommend.

Yelp
This place was recommended by the concierge at our hotel. It's known for their excellent wine pairings. This place did not disappoint. Their appetizers and entree were excellent. The duck and foie gras pastry... Soo good!

Yelp
Went for lunch - the good was good and the wine was offered by the glass. I found the place to be overpriced for the food items.

Yelp
The interesting thing about this restaurant is that it has detailed wine pairings for each dish. They are all cleverly coded on the menu so it's easy to figure out. The restaurant is not very large and most people are sitting at tables. It appears to be a business person's place. I can see how it would be a quiet place to discuss business over lunch. We saw a lot of that going on. This service was very attentive and the waiters were great at explaining the wines and suggesting which ones. We appreciated Mr. Thomas Fernandez, Assistant Manager. This young man was very kind and competent. Everyone here was nice and the service was impressive. Notables dishes that we enjoyed were terrIne, the perfect egg, and chicken. I imagine anything you order here would be fantastic.

Yelp
Service was spot on, the food was excellent and the wines were spectacular. I had the steak with fries, my husband is a vegetarian, he didn't have a lot of choices on the menu but the kitchen made him a fabulous meal. If we had found this sooner it would have been our GO TO spot.

Yelp
Great food and service. Pretty pricy, definitely get a reservation. Simple nice atmosphere.

Yelp
Classic French. Outstanding wine pairing and selection! Came for a special occasion and was not disappointed.

Yelp
High-end French dining at a fraction of the cost of its famous "brother" restaurant Taillevent. Stopped here for lunch. Easy online booking. Ris de veau was exceptional. Service was great. Bread was plentysome. Excellent chocolate dessert. Definitely worth the visit !

Yelp
New Years Disaster. Les 110 does not understand hospitality. Visited Les 110 for New Years at the recommendation of our concierge at Hotel de Berri, and can only surmise the concierge works with them. This story is worth the read. We arrived for our 9:30 reservation promptly at 9:30. It was a 195 euro per person priced fixed (no alcohol included) tasting. We were seated promptly but not greeted by a server till 10:00 and our first glass of wine not delivered till 10:22 (52 mins after arrived) Despite the name being 110 (for the number of wines by the glass), they limited the wine selections to 3 of each: champagne, white, red and dessert. Since it was New Years, you can imagine they offered very expensive glasses and would not let us order bottles. It would have been ok if the wine was good, but it tasted like they identified the 3 wines that were most expensive but were unable to sell all year. The wines tasted bad! Furthermore, we asked if we could have a small taste of the wine before we ordered them - they were expensive and did not want something we didn't like. They said they did not have enough staff available to let us taste the wine first. Suffice to say one was so bad we didn't drink it. When ordering our wine, we had to select all of them upfront - meaning before dinner was served. If we thought we wanted 3 wines throughout dinner, they had to be ordered in advance. When I asked if we could add or subtract throughout the meal, they said it could not be accommodated in a timely way because again, they did not have enough staff. The food was only ok. Way overrated for a Michelin Restaurant. For two people dining that evening the bill was likely over 600 euros total and they weren't staffed right. It was a sad experience and it should have been perfect. Slow service, understaffed, unwilling to help, mediocre food and a poor but expensive wine offering summarizes why the poor star rating. The ambiance is also worth noting. It was stuffy, quiet and not fun. That may have been a function of the New Years set up however. In the end I brought this to the attention of the manager. He thanked me for my thoughts and agreed with my comments on the wine. I asked him to remove the glass we didn't drink from the bill and he declined. It was only his 10th day working there, yet he was the New Years lead. My hotel called this a New Years fluke. At bare minimum you should take away from my experience that the restaurant does not understand hospitality. Should something go wrong, do not expect much. When in Paris, you will have SO MANY great choices. I would try someplace other than here.

Yelp
Spectacular service, unbelievable wine selection - all good, some excellent. And great food too! We ate here two years ago, and it is still excellent.

Yelp
Loved this place! Visited on recommendations from another food and wine lover and it was perfect. The hole concept is so cute, for each course you will get four recommended wines. It can be anything from champagne to sweet wine. Prices vary from 5-50 euros/glass, just fine your preferens and price range. This is not a place for wine snobs but absolutely for wine lovers. All wines can be bought by the glass so this is a great opportunity to try something new. The food was really fantastic as well. I tried the lamb which was perfect, the rhubarb dessert was playful and tasty too I can warmly and full hearted recommend this place!

Yelp
"Have you selected your wine? It's most important." My kind of place. They don't leave you hanging either and expertly recommend the wine that goes along with the selected dish. Sea Bream carpaccio is excellent. So light and fresh and well seasoned. The sea bass, apart from the simply impressive presentation, was delicious. I think I could have continued eating my portion despite the fact that I was full. I had the strawberries with sorbet for desert. It wasn't bad. I am not too big on sweets and frankly this selection didn't impress. Would certainly recommend, even if it did take 10 minutes to get someone's attention for the check.

Yelp
Sister to the famed Taillevent. About 2 blocks away but much easier to dine at. 110 wines by the glass and covering every price range. They also line the pairing of wine to food on the menu so you don't have to guess. I could eat here everyday. Uh, I did last trip to Paris! Lunch or dinner same menu with lots of variety. GO!

Yelp
We have not been back to this restaurant for several years. It is still as lovely as we remembered. Wine is the emphasis here. The menu has the food listed in the center. On the left are two suggestions of wine for each dish , up to 15 euros. May get small or regular size glasses. On the right side, two more suggestions in the higher price range. Again small or regular size glasses. Takes a little time to figure out. Printing is very tiny so difficult to read as well. Cheese puffs are served upon arrival. A nice touch. My husband had late en croute. Could have 1/2portion which was more than enough. I had risotto with asparagus. Cooked perfectly and garnished with black olives and Parmesan cheese Best I have had in a long time. For main course my husband had fried whiting and French fries. Wonderful flavor although he did not like seeing fish head. I had guinea fowl. A little tough. Nice vegetables accompanied fowl. We had 5 glasses of wine between us. Bill was 145 euros. Well priced for what we had. Gracious dining

Yelp
I love the concept of the wine pairings. Each item on the menu has 4 recommended wines ranging from cheap, to quite expensive (all by the glass). This included the apps and desserts as well. In terms of food, I was not thrilled with the choices. When I checked the menu (la carte) and made the reservation a couple weeks before, there were definitely items that looked right up my alley. By the time we arrived, the menu had changed however and there was nothing on there that jumped out at me. All of the meats were more on the unusual side: pigeon, duck, lamb, etc. Maybe my overall experience would have improved if they had a chicken or beef option. I chose the duck; turns out duck is not my favorite (not their fault). My husband had lamb (which he likes) and was happy with that. I thought the lamb was pretty decent as well. Overall, I would have liked to see a slightly larger menu, or just one with more variety. That said, if you're a bit more adventurous you probably wouldn't have that issue. Note that they do have an English menu. The service, while cordial, just did not make me feel very welcomed. It all seemed a bit cold and aloof compared to many of the establishments that we dined at in Paris. Although I can imaging others having a very enjoyable experience here, that was not how it went for us...hence the "average" review.

Yelp
We came for a very late dinner and tried a few different things. Although the wine selection was good, the food was a little disappointing. I had a salad nicoise (it sounded refreshing after a long day of traveling) but it was a little sour and quite oily. The meat was cooked nicely but nothing too exciting. Service was solid but nothing was memorable. I wouldn't make this a destination.

Jim S.

Yelp
Excellent meal great atmosphere very fun wine list. Was recommended here and it was great. It was a fun event to pair wines at multiple price points at multiple sizes with each course. Service was outstanding, each recommendation was better than the next. If your up for a little something different give it a try. Bob the general manager was outstanding and Michael And Thomas were great servers

Yelp
We came upon this restaurant by strolling by and liked it so much we came back for a second time five days later before leaving Paris. First, the manager, Bob Middleton, runs a customer focused establishment with excellent service. The menu is slightly limited in choice but still varied. Having said that, the calamari appetizer is a very interesting and tasty adaptation, and the steamed cod and veal t-bone are delicious entrees. You will enjoy the service and polite attention coupled with varied wine choices and a welcoming hospitality.

Yelp
We had such high hopes based upon the reviews. The meal was just "okay." There are tons of better options in Paris, and you should avoid this one to find a better one (shouldn't be difficult). We come to Paris quite a bit, and are "foodies" and we understand in Paris (1) the wait staff have tons of tables per person (sometimes in a small restaurant only one waiter); (2) don't expect fast service; and (3) just relax, a dinner is a few hour event and most of the time it's worth it, so leave that American attitude of fast pace at the door and you'll acclimate just fine. So this review isn't coming from a first timer whiney American is what I'm trying to say. Other reviews say terrible service. Trust them, it's terrible. It's way beyond just being "French." It's God awful....worst we have ever experienced in Paris in 10 years. It was THAT bad. The good: Wine by the glass...and good wines. The bad: Food was just 'okay,' not terrible or anything but "meh." Nothing outstanding to report. Please do yourself a favor and do not believe the good reviews. They obviously have changed which is unfortunate. Good luck in your dining out in Paris, it's a wonderful city with excellent options.....except this one.

Yelp
We had an outstanding meal here. The wine pairing recommendations were spot on. The director, Bob Middleton, was friendly, informative and very accommodating. The server was also fine. And it was a treat to have the chef come out and inquire at the end of the meal. A first rate experience. Thanks very much for a wonderful evening!

Paula A.

Yelp
This was our sixth time in Paris and this was by far the best restaurant we have eaten in. A++++ for service and food. The manager, Tom Middleton, spent time at each table making each diner feel welcome. His suggestions were only exceeded by the food itself. Do not pass on the hot chocolate mousse.

Connie C.

Yelp
This is the restaurant that you want to come back again! Great food, cozy atmosphere and nice staffs. Especially after a busy working day, you deserve to have it!

Yelp
Did not live up to its reputation. I was very much looking forward to my lunch here as it came highly recommended by friends and family who had dined here before me. Unfortunately, I left disappointed. The atmosphere is lovely, the restaurant is cozy without being cramped and maintains a very classical feel with it's wood paneled walls. My girlfriend and I were seated quickly upon arrival. My first gripe was with when I requested suggestion for wine with our main course, at that time our waitress should have sent over the sommelier, as she struggled to provide adequate direction. But ok, easily forgiven, if the only issue. My main complaint was with the lamb chop, which was covered in large chunks of fat and what little meat remained had been over-cooked and left tasteless. In hindsight I should have sent it back. The service also seemed to disappear after providing our main dishes, at which point we had to try multiple times to flag the service down to order dessert and then to provide the bill. Given this was the lunch service I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Though I found the lack of attention to detail concerning at a restaurant that is supposedly considered to be top quality. 3 Stars as the rest of the food was enjoyable and while the service was less attentive than I'd expect they were polite.
google avatar

Heather T.

Yelp
What a shame they even use the name Taillevent, it disparages the institution. The service was deplorable. Our food sat out on trays getting cold while the lead waiter chatted it up with customers. We repeatedly tried to get anyone's attention and were ignored. Having been to Taillevent, I had at least hoped for proper dining service at this more casual establishment. As for the 110 wines by the glass, I saw the bartender pour a glass back into to the bottle they had taken out of the coravin. Probably a error in teh ordeer but completely unexcetable. Horrible.
google avatar

Sherri H.

Yelp
The concept of this restaurant is brilliant - 110 wines by the glass to pair with the different courses. When you open the menu the food is in the center and 4 wine options are suggested on either side We chose the fixed menu. It is bold to name a dish "the perfect egg" when there is sooo much good food in Paris but as a first course it was, in fact, perfect! My husband had the cassoulet and I had the sturgeon - both were wonderful. For dessert he chose the hot chocolate mousse and I had the cheese course. The mousse was simply decadent! The wine pairings were spot on. The staff was friendly and helpful and the service was outstanding.
google avatar

Dennis S.

Yelp
Great concept, but the food was not impressive. They have 110 wines by the glass. You look over the menu and decide on your food. Across the menu by each food choice are four different wines to match with that food item. From cheaper on the left to pricier on the right. But the food was disappointing. I had le risotto cremeux aux asperges and vol au vent. Both were ok, but neither outstanding. We'd booked this restaurant in advance, based on the reference to it in one of Danny Meyer's books, as a place he always goes to in Paris. I can see his interest in sampling 110 wines by the glass. But I doubt the food is what brings him in. Service was fine as was the setting - very modern. We have plenty of similar places in Chicago with good food, good wine list, and expensive modern decor. There's no reason Parisians shouldn't have the same. But there's also no reason for us to come to Paris for such an undifferentiated restaurant experience.
google avatar

Peter F.

Yelp
Exceptional. Low key ambience a refined energy and precision. Soft wood decor. Hushed happy French voices. The food is paired with wine choices by the glass, which really stand out for their age and diversity. The food needs no description: heavenly.

Jennifer E.

Yelp
Terrible experience. The service was the worst we have experienced in Paris. Food was not worth the money. Service is slow. They brought out the wrong wine pairings for our starters. No description of the wine or the meals. Just put the wine and the food on the table and left. The staff seems to have zero knowledge of what they are serving. I do NOT recommend this restaurant. Do NOT waste your money.
google avatar

John A.

Yelp
Great experience. Wine choices were fantastic. Opportunity to pair glasses with food courses. Gourmet good, warm and inviting dining room.

B. Louvre E.

Yelp
How could anyone like this restaurant with its disjointed menu and lack luster food. Noticed that many reviews were old back to 2016 -- no wonder. Does not live up to the hype. Not recommended.

Nancy P.

Yelp
We went to this restaurant because a friend suggested it. We had a FABULOUS meal and thought the entire concept of the restaurant was unique and fun! The 110 in the name doesn't refer to the street number but the fact they have 110 different wines by the glass. I let the restaurant help pick the wines for my dinner and they were outstanding! The food was also incredible. Bob MIddleton, the Director, of the restaurant was so knowledgable about wines, food and history. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone who is going to Paris! It is a don't miss!

Steph K.

Yelp
This was a lovely, last-minute choice that really exceeded our expectations. We expected a typical brasserie - but the quality of the food was better, the atmosphere more elegant (a bit more formal than a brasserie but not stuffy - we sat at the bar, which was really comfortable), and the service spot-on. Great wine pairings, delicious classics (tartare was awesome, vol-au-vent terrific). And they definitely deserve a shout-out for gracious service ... we arrived a few minutes before the kitchen closed for the evening, but not for a minute did we feel rushed over several courses. They continued to offer more options despite that we were the last customers and even most staff was gone by the time we left - which we only realized once we got up to leave). They never gave us any indication that they had been waiting for us until they closed the night gate behind us after we left.

Morgan C.

Yelp
This was the best dining experience I have ever had. My girlfriend and I ate here as our "fancy date night" during our trip to Paris. When asked if he spoke English, our waiter smiled and replied "of course" in a very friendly way. I ordered the Veal Kidney which turned out to be one of the most delicious meals I've eaten in all of my life. When it was time to leave, we asked to doorman to take our picture. He was more than happy to do so. I expected him to snap a quick one for us but instead, he took several pictures and he even pretended to be a professional photographer; stepping back 15-20 feet and squatting and getting several angles. It was very funny and resulted in some great pictures with genuine laughing smiling faces. This place has a special place in my memory and I cannot wait to return someday.

Larry C.

Yelp
When there twice and was not disappointed. The food is simple and consistent. I like the wine pairing idea and the price is fairly reasonable. The food beats several five start restaurants in Paris.

Robin D.

Yelp
Very annoyed!! We bragged to everyone who would listen..telling them we were going to eat here. We made a reservation 3 months ago but showered up to a restaurant that was CLOSED! The workers where there but I have no idea what they were doing. Either way my husband and I were not to happy. Not to mention we came out in the RAIN to eat here!

Andre M.

Yelp
Amazing place, specially food on the grill. Great ambiance and very good wine selection.

Yelp
This restaurant should NOT have Taillevent in its name because its service and food are 360 degrees opposite (means terrible) to the famous Taillevent on Rue Lamnenais (noted for its food and service). We experienced a Saturday night that was so-o bad it is hard to write about it. First, a selfish, 30 something couple brought their about 2 yrs old with them and she proceeded to "scream" (yes, scream) for 2 hrs. We talked to the manager and asked her to do something (talk or move them) but she refused and said, "I cannot do that." Poor judgement to allow the large dining area to the right as you come in to be totally disrupted! Now for the food, my lamb was more bone than meat, the service was so slow and disorientated (they opened late and let everyone stand outside). They were uncertain about the pairings when asked anything specific, so we ordered from the wine list. The only good thing is the decor---frescos that are lovely. So a tip: Save your money and go to the "real" and worth every penny "Taillevent."
