"This pleasant restaurant was opened by a pair from Brittany who can boast impressive culinary backgrounds. Here, the name of the game is bistronomy and seasonal recipes. Specialities include beef tongue carpaccio with ravigote sauce, and rum baba with whipped vanilla cream – a real treat! Tip: if the restaurant is full, go to Le Comptoir Canaille, just a few doors down, where they serve more contemporary cuisine." - Michelin Inspector

First of all, their hospitality is amazing. I had a long layover in CDG and made a reservation, but open checking in, I realized the reservation was for the previous day (honest mistake on my end). The woman at the reception was kind & understanding and managed to squeeze me in for a 1:30 time slot. The food was fantastic and the wait time was not too long. I ordered the beef tongue carpaccio, scallops, and raspberry pavlova as part of the set menu they offer. Highly recommend!

Google
Wonderful restaurant with delicious food, friendly service and lovely atmosphere. My husband and I went for lunch and both had the three-course menu. The food was incredible in flavor, preparation and presentation. The salmon and beef carpaccio starters were notably great and my husband said the soufflé was the best he’s ever had. We had our baby with us in a stroller and they were very kindly accommodating for the extra room. I look forward to returning one day!

Google
Fantastic experience! Tasty dishes, local and a friendly service. It's on Michelin's bib rating. French food at its finest. Great choice of excellent wines too. Highly recommend it if you are visiting Paris.

Google
Absolutely spectacular meal! The service, presentation and food was impeccable, I loved this restaurant. I came for lunch with my coworkers and we all ate everything on our plates so fast I don’t even think we even chewed lol. I would highly recommend this wonderful restaurant

Google
Very friendly staff, let us plenty of time to study the menu. Staff also gave us wine recommendations. The food was simply amazing, especially the scallop ceviche was superb. There was also small plates for free. Will definitely come back again.

I had my best meal since arriving in Paris at Les Canailles! Despite the absence of an English menu, the staff's understanding of English and the availability of Google Translate made ordering a breeze. I opted for a main course from the chef’s specials, and it did not disappoint. The dish, featuring sweetbreads, was exceptional—perfectly cooked with a delightful crispy texture. It was the best sweetbread I've ever had, surpassing even those from Michelin-starred restaurants. The accompanying artichokes were equally delicious, and I left my plate spotless. Les Canailles is a gem, and I will definitely return to explore more of their menu.

The restaurant staff's homey, smiling service and gentle attentiveness were very pleasant, and the food is exquisitely flavored with the best of the ingredients. The grilled steak has a wide variety of vegetables, and their seasoning is a perfect harmony with the meat. My wife and I did not order any coffee and dessert because we are small eaters. Although we did not order them, they served the financier and chocolates to us and they were amazingly delicious. I thought we should have ordered them because the waiter looked sad when we told them we were full after having main dishes. We recognized that they must be confident in their desserts. Actually they are very delicious. This restaurant must have so many repeaters. Thank you for giving us good time and food.

Delicious food, excellent presentation and service. They were very accommodating for our group of 10. Our favorite dishes were the seared foie gras on beef steak, souffle, lamb, sweet potato soup, but everything was tasty and well plated.

Yelp
**SOUFFLE ALL DAY** Paris knows how to make me swoon. One of my favorite bistro experiences. AMBIANCE ========= Cozy, somewhat modern, but not too casual. Nicely lit (not too bright) with soothing music. No tourists (yay), lots of locals and celebrations. FOOD ===== ENTREE + DESSERT = 27 euros ENTREE + APP = 27 euros --TERRINE with their house cognac sauce-- Can't get enough of foie gras or baguettes. Nice flavor and beautiful bread. RATING: 5/5 --SEAFOOD DISH of the day-- Monk Fish WITH LOBSTER were perfectly moist and flavorful. The French know how to cook fish without the horrid fishy smells. Beautifully done and generous portions. RATING: 5/5 --SOUFFLE-- With Grand Marnier and it was textbook perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better looking or tasting souffle. RATING: 5/5 BONUS ======= Gave us some truffles and almond cookies with our bill. OMG, those truffles. Nice ending to our meal. RATING: 5/5 SERVICE ======= Food came out timely and the staff was friendly. RATING: 5/5 OVERALL ======== Definitely my favorite bistro thus far in Montmartre. Good-priced (especially for the seafood entrees), excellent food, and nice atmosphere. WILL RETURN. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Yelp
Amazing dinner!! Authentic French food. They have a 3 course set menu for 32 euro. Food display and level of cooking is exceptional. Service was also very very good! will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Paris!

Yelp
I thought the restaurant had charm and was one of those "hidden gems" where the locals went for dinner. It was certainly a great Parisian dinner considering it was our first. The menu on the chalk board was in French but the maitre'd had no issue with translating it in English for us. I thought presentation and flavors were exquisite and their house red was robust and full-bodied enough to pair with my rack of lamb. I would have given them a 5 except that when the night carried on as more patrons entered, I felt we were forgotten. The cheese plate was underwhelming as a dessert plate as well.

Yelp
This restaurant is basically across the street from my hotel and they were gracious enough to fit me in for an early dinner (730pm) on short notice. One of the first things I noticed throughout my meal: this is a restaurant locals come to. I was the only American there. The two staff spoke English though (I know only a little French) and helped me with the menu. This was a delightful first meal in Paris, and also one of the best meals I've had in months...anywhere!! I had a white asparagus entreé (appetizer to Americans) with a fried egg and shaved prosciutto (?) on top. A pairing I would never have at home, and delicious! For my main meal, I chose a beef tenderloin (couer de rumsteak) which was served with "fried potatoes". I expected French fries of some sort when I was explained this dish, but the "fried potatoes" were more like fried balls of mashed potatoes. They were flavored perfectly and the tenderloin couldn't have been prepared better. I ordered it medium rare and it literally melted in my mouth. For dessert, I chose a sponge cake soaked in rum with chantilly cream. It wasn't my favorite dessert (a little too boozy for me), but I was stuffed anyway. And after two glasses of excellent wine recommended by my server, I'd had enough. I'll definitely be back before my trip is over. This place is too good not to sample more food from! Edit: I did come back for dinner a few nights later. It was just as good as the first night! Cold bean soup with carrot chantilly, more couer de rumsteak, and duck confit and pork belly for my friend. I can't recommend this restsurant highly enough!! It's on my list for future trips!

Yelp
Fantastic place to get a three course meal for 35 euros. Don't be fooled by the price because you will get a well done and filling meal for such a good deal. The atmosphere is casual yet intimate and there are no tourists! I would bring either a date or a group of friends to this place.

Yelp
Excellent food with attentive service. Their wine selection is great and the soup I had was awesome. Also really enjoyed the dessert I got.

Kendra T.

Yelp
Perfect date spot. You can see the food pop out of the kitchen. I would recommend reservations.

Yelp
It's a little restaurant not far from Montmartre. When we arrived at the restaurant they were fully booked but told us to wait 45 minutes and then they'd try their best to give us a table. The waitor gave us a nice recommendation where to go for drinks meanwhile. When we came back everything was ready in this lovely little, pretty restaurant. The menu was only in English but they helped us translate the things we couldn't figure out on our own. Had the cod with spinach and the most amazing sauce. The staff selected the wine, and it was a perfect match! Chose the chocolate cake and raspberry ice-cream for dessert. I really recommend this restaurant - good service, delicate food and lovely surroundings.

Yelp
Great food! This was my favorite place to eat at in Paris... I would highly recommend it. The menu changes frequently but the sole was great and the asparagus puff pastry was an excellent start. The flavors were very well executed. I loved the bread that you start with... it was so unique. (They also served the normal baguettes) The service was wonderful! They were able to get us in without a reservation, but they turned down several people after us. Its a small place and it fills up quickly... a reservation is a must. We just got very lucky... and went right when they opened. The chocolate souffle like dessert was so yummy, but they do leave you with something sweet at the end. A nice finish to an awesome place.

Yelp
We tried this restaurant mainly due to Yelp reviews. Our hotelier also confirmed it is well regarded and popular with Americans. We got the plat (appetizer) entree and dessert from the prix fix menu and all three options were very good (fish, red meat and pork). The portions were good sized as well (we were prepared for small French portions and were pleasantly surprised. We tried to go it in French, but they did offer an English translation when we came in. Take it when it's offered as we weren't able to get that later. Also, unless you are going early (1800-1900) make a reservation. We were lucky to get a table, and were seated with the caveat we had to be out for a 2100 reservation. The staff was friendly (for the French) and very attentive despite the busyness of the restaurant.

Yelp
Local gem. Located North of the Paris opera. Somewhat hidden. Small and packed with local customers. Creative and refined menu. Would be a hit in New York city.

Yelp
Le Canailles is the bistro you are seeking, just as one likes them. Excellent cuisine, charming service, in a very pretty restaurant. It is small, personal, and comfortable. The meal is astonishingly delicious, every time. It is very fresh and simple, with delicious sauces. The wines are superb. They have recently opened a 2nd Les Canailles in the 20th. We have spent a month in Paris almost every year for several decades, and we know a great value when we see one. We have already had dinner here several times, and will continue to return.

Yelp
What a delight to eat in this little french cosy restaurant ! We were genuinely looking for a good place to eat, only to find an *amazing* place : best meal in ages (and we were a group of French people, so we do know about good restaurants in Paris). Definitely a place to know and have in mind for good french cuisine (vegetables, meat and innovative yet efficient pairings) ! Plus a nice cook, a garçon both charming, polite and present (advised for good wines, let us taste, even jokes if the mood is at it), all of it with a quiet, very sweet atmosphere. Even took us in without reservations ...really, what a delight ! Do not hesitate to try it out, I would be surprised if it didn't suit your tastes. I personally had an amazing evening, really.

Yelp
For fantastically prepared French cuisine, you won't go wrong in selecting this place although it does get busy during dinner hours. Fortunately we were lucky and seated after a few moments wait showing up without a reservation. Situated in a fairly secluded street away from touristy attractions, it almost feels as if you stumbled upon a hidden gem. The service was impeccable, patient and friendly servers translating the menu for us Americans. The food was wonderfully presented. My wife had the fish of the day (pollack) and I went with the steak. Both were amazingly crafted to perfection and we finished off with a scrumptious dessert. The French are known to value their cuisine highly and this place is no exception. Highly recommend this place if you are ever in the Pigalle area of Paris.

Tanya K.

Yelp
A friend recommend this place - tomarkttomarkt.com - I'm so happy she did! I felt like a real Parisian but the staff was super nice even though I was an American. They made some great recommendations. Love love would recommend to anyone looking for a good Parisian meal!

Yelp
We ordered pate de foie gras a la campagne. My daughter loved the duck, and we enjoyed the steak. Sweetbreads of lamb was fun and very flavorful. The foie gras was delicious. They also brought us a special amuse course which was touching and delicious, also a little dessert including truffles and almond cookies, fun ending.

Yelp
Wow! What a fantastic dinner!!! This is definitely a step up from the street side bistro but still has a casual atmosphere. The food is excellent. The service is perfectly timed and gracious. There is a light hearted feel about the entire restaurant that makes dining here a fun and unforgettable experience.

Yelp
Our best restaurant experience in this area of Paris. Professional, attentive and knowledgeable service, small tables but with comfortable space between them and excellent food. Simple but well executed dishes, a beautifully prepared soufflé and a good wine list. Bravo! You will probably need to book.

Andrea B.

Yelp
Great food. Good quality and great service. Very good price vs quality. I'd come again!

Yelp
I ate here nearly a year ago and can't stop thinking about this delicious experience! Our first night in Paris, our concierge suggested this place. Across from our hotel in an adorable neighborhood, the menus were in French and the waiter spoke little English - a sign of an authentic experience to me! EVERYTHING we ordered was amazing. The potatoes were silky butter awesomeness. Yuuum

Mira C.

Yelp
We stopped in without availability. They try to arrange a table and ask us to come back later if we want. We are glad to go back and it's totally worth the waiting. Their service is the best during our 8 days stay in Paris. Food and atmosphere are very good. The menu is on the board only in French, but the staff is really patient to explain it in English. Highly recommended. We will come back definitely if we are in Paris again!! Thank you for letting us have a wonderful evening.

Saterah M.

Yelp
This was one of the best meals I've ever had. The braised pork cheek was spoon tender, the potatoes were whipped with PLENTY of butter, and the the ham cake was complementary but I'd pay top dollar for it! Desert? The lemon tart and caramel egg whites.
