Les Fous de l’île - Review - Paris - The Infatuation

"The trend of young folks infusing flair and funk into old institutions continues on the Ile-Saint-Louis. This coq-themed spot highlights chickens, hens, and other fowl into its decor among other trinkets, but it still feels cool and current. The food is equally balanced—you’ll find starters like paté and burrata as well as less traditional dishes like sea bream ceviche topped with corn (kernels and popped) and tart pomegranate seeds. For mains, there’s beef tartare with fries, a creamy girolles mushroom risotto, and a rack of lamb for two for €89. They change the menu often, and while reservations are recommended, they’ll always try to accommodate walk-ins." - Sara Lieberman

We had escargot and an egg salad, both incredible! It was somewhat busy, and no seating outside was available, so we seated inside. Beautiful place and fast service, food was very tasty, and I recommend the escargot here

What a recommendation from Rick Steves! Food was amazing (beef wellington, half lobster, and chicken supreme) were all delightful. Also started with a Salad that was enough to split for 2-3. Service was exceptional and attentive to every detail.

The restaurant is in a tourist area so whilst it's nicely French, expect quite a few tourists. But then again that's what we were! Very nice Saturday night meal, one x sea bass and one sausage & aligot sharing a citrus cheesecake. Bottle of very good Bordeaux & coffee - €93 which I think is good for a few hundred yards from Notre Dame . Buzzy atmosphere & decent service, all good !

Google
The quality of the food is great! It’s the best restaurant we’ve eaten on our Paris trip of the week! We had homemade ice tea, escargot, linguine, paleron, chocolate cake with ice cream. Highly recommended!

Google

We were nicely greeted by what seemed like the owner of the restaurant and the waitstaff. We ordered two bottles of Pinot Noir which were delicious. We ordered the French onion soup and the scallop tartar which was the special, both were yummy. Then we ordered the steak tartare, and another special which was the fish and carrots the mushroom pasta and the steak ribs. We were told the steak ribs was sold out which was fine so we went with the crock Monsour. The steak tartare was under seasoned and lacked many classic ingredients. The Crock monsuir egg was completely raw however was yummy. The linguine was extremely under-seasoned and lacked flavour and the fish special with the carrots was honestly inedible. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was lovely but a miss from us.

I arrived at this establishment upon the recommendation of a close acquaintance, with the intention of indulging in a delightful dinner featuring cake. The venue itself, as well as its concept and decor, exude a remarkable level of creativity. Although the menu was concise, it offered an array of excellent options complemented by a select assortment of impressive wines. Furthermore, the atmosphere encapsulated a sense of tradition, and naturally, the location was impeccable.

Go! If your experience was like ours you, will love it. The menu changes often and is on chalkboard in French and English. Our server Jean was our friendly and knowledgeable guide through this delightful meal. It was the perfect meal for our last night in Paris.

Yelp
One of our favorite places in Paris! Came here the first night we were in Paris, and man, did it set a standard for food. Came here with a 9PM reservation, and we arrived a bit earlier (walked from our hotel) at probably 8:30 or so. They were very accomodating and we were able to get sat pretty much right away. They had English menus for us, which was greatly appreciated since my French stops at "Bonjour". We got a truffle sausage app dish that came with wonderful bread as well as the "Bouef" (filet) and a mushroom pasta dish. Both dishes were amazing. The filet was so soft and tender and perfectly cooked. The mushroom pasta was perfectly creamy and flavorful. We were so stuffed from our food that we couldn't stomach dessert. We were surrounded by locals, which is always a good sign for me.

Yelp
I visited here for my first time with my husband about 5 yrs ago and had such fond memories of the food, decor, and service, I brought my son here tonight on his first trip to Paris. We had another 5 star experience. The staff is friendly, attentive, and we're mindful of my son's allergies (all nuts). The menu has changed, but the food was just as divine. He wanted frog legs and a bacon cheeseburger, and I had truffle linguini. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Yelp
Definitely one of my favorite meals in Paris! A tour guide recommended and one of the major perks was the ability to make online reservations in advance. Great wine list. Truffle sausages, the chicken entree and rock chocolate were major winners for me. I had swordfish and that lacked flavor for my preference but the eggplant side was as phenomenal. We had great service and really enjoyed the charm and location.

Yelp
Loved this place and it was recommended by family (local) so happy we went! I love trying new places in France.

Yelp
Delicious. Quaint. Fast. Affordable. We were very hungry so just shared a nice bottle of wine and 3 appetizers. We had the beef tartare, ceviche and octopus. Everything was exceptional!! We finished with a chocolate caramel brownie with Berthillon ice cream. Heavenly!

Yelp
Excellent service, hostess and staff speak enough English for us to feel comfortable with no French of our own. Intimate venue, we were well cared for. We made reservations through trip advisor and got a discount! When we arrived 20min before our reservation time, they took us right away. It got busy around 8:00pm, but we were never neglected. My husband for the steak tar tar and enjoyed it. I got the fish (not pictured) and had the best artichokes I've ever had in my life. We noticed that most of the other guests were locals, which is always a tip off that the food is authentic and high quality.

Yelp
Such a charming experience! Delicious meal, warm ambiance, and excellent service. Hubby is vegetarian so had 2 starters as his meal: carrot and potato soup with crème fraiche first, then leeks with Parmesan crumble. The carrot soup was incredible; the leeks very good as well but not as incredible as the soup. I had the terrine (pork and fig) to start then the plat du jour: veal and mushroom stew over pasta. Oh my gosh, both were so delicious but the veal especially. The wait staff were very kind and spoke English which was helpful for us. Highly recommend. We hope to dine here again as we are staying just around the corner.

Yelp
This is a rooster themed restaurant I just came across on my way back to hotel from the Louvre. We were just wondering around the little streets and got super hungry. But again we don't like wasting our meal on just a random food so we looked around and saw that this place has been on Michelin star restaurant list for years. So we had to give it a try. It was late lunch so he place was slow. I ordered my usual Pinot Gris and then looked at the menu. It had different course options available. But since my stomach shrunk dramatically with small European portion sizes, I only ordered one thing which was main course. And my friend opted out for appetizer. We couldn't eat multiple dishes haha. Mine was pollack fish filet which was ok. I wasn't impressed since it just tasted very blend. It is have some mixture of vegetable underneath but it wasn't great. My friend ordered cold spinach soup with egg and she enjoyed it. They do offer English menu so it was easy to order. Our server was nice but slow since she was the only one serving. I wouldn't come back just because I wasn't so impressed. Not a bad experience just not a great one either.

Yelp
Food and service were good. Reason for very poor review is the table bread is reused. We asked to take our our table bread home. We were told "no", it is needed by the restaurant. WTH. Completely unsanitary. Will never return. Be aware, what else is being reshared.

Yelp
Wonderful place on the island of Saint Louis. The menu only has 5-6 items for each starter, main, & dessert. and (I guess) the ingredients are fresh, seasonal and dishes well done. Given the quality, it's very reasonably priced at €22 for a main, €27 to add a starter or dessert or €33 for all three. Friendly knowledgeable staff and the customers were 75% French / 25% tourist. The roosters theme and "Crazy" name (from a movie I think) combined with the food and service makes it feel like a fancy but friendly place.

Yelp
This Michelin rated restaurant is a true gem. After gallivanting around Paris all day, it was 9 p.m. and my husband and I were starving. We pulled up Yelp and saw a few restaurants nearby, after passing up the first option due to how busy it looked we went into Les Fous de L'lle. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere was cozy, warm and inviting. We got a table near the back toward the kitchen, but it wasn't loud. Our server was sweet and attentive. We ordered the cheapest rose on the menu, as we learned you can't go wrong with any wine, no matter how cheap in Paris. It was delicious. They offered the menu in English and French, which was very much appreciated. I go the Young leeks, quail egg, mustard shoots, and truffle vinaigrette to start, I have never had anything like it and was so surprised how good it was. It was tender, flavorful and light, a great way to start my meal. I followed it up with the Pan-fried gnocchi, porcini mushrooms & mushrooms, Parmesan cheese. I've never had gnocchi this good in my life. It was seared on the outside from being pan-fried, but tender on the inside. It was rich and creamy, truly a dream. The parmesan cheese was spectacular and the mushrooms were the perfect accent. I completed my meal with a scoop of tiramisu ice cream. My husband ordered the Beef tartare with smoked duck breast, roasted avocado, nori fries seaweed to start with. We both are huge fans of tartare and were so happy so many places in Paris served it. This one was a slightly different take with the roasted avocado, but it paired perfectly with the bread basket they brought and we couldn't get enough. This place is a must-visit in Paris when you need a moment of good food and a quiet getaway.

Yelp
We accidentally ate here- and as I've learned through Yelp, accidental dining experiences turn out to the best ones. We had planned most of our meals in France, but this was completely random. We had been walking around all afternoon and forgotten about dinner. By the time we walked around Île Saint-Louis again, we realized we were starving. We didn't plan ANY stops along this route, and just randomly picked a place off Yelp without reading the reviews. First of all, this place is amazing. There decor is hilarious and cozy, and the hostess is friendly. Their menu (pre fixe) is in French, and then completely in English on the reverse. The prices are outrageously great for the tremendous quality you get for the food. At the time, we had no idea this was a Michelin rated restaurant (can't wait to tell the BF!) We have a crab salad starter, which was very light and refreshing, and packed full of flavor. The BF isn't huge on seafood but thoroughly enjoyed this one. I went with the Beef Carpaccio, which came drizzled lightly with a pesto sauce and sprinkled generously with parma cheese, and fresh greens and french fries on the side. This is a very meaty dish, but it was surprisingly not overwhelming. The BF had a steak that was cooked exactly to his request (which, if you eat steak out, is hit and miss because many times, it's overcooked). It also came with greens and fries. He enjoyed it very much (as did I!) We finished with a crème brûlée, which was perfection in a cute little ramekin. I think this was one of our favourite meals in Paris, and I'd definitely make it a point to eat here again the next time we visit.

Yelp
Trendy atmosphere, attentive staff, and delicious meals. Bon appétit! This warm, romantically lit spot is mysteriously decorated with chickens- the product of an inside joke between the owners. Located on the Island of Saint Louis, Les Fous de L'lle, or 'The Crazy Guys of the Island', is a tempting lunch option for passersbys seeking a cool drink and break from the afternoon sun. My husband and I wandered in fifteen minutes prior to our reservation and were greeted warmly by Nicolas, who joked with us about our early arrival. It quickly became apparent that our French is 'très mauvais', so Nicolas graciously answered our questions in English. We were impressed with the menu, which is not large. This appealed to me as I've always been fond of menus which look more like love notes than manifestos. I decided to try the lunch special, three courses for 27€, and my husband selected dishes from the normal menu, 25€ for two dishes if memory serves. Our meals were delicious. I won't bore you with the specific items we had, because I don't believe you could make a bad choice. Everything was beautifully presented, flavourful, and prepared with care- everything we hope for when dining out. We sat up at the bar, where we enjoyed Nicolas's company when he wasn't busy helping others. I asked him to help us order in French, and he very kindly helped us with a few phrases. All in all, my husband and I felt very welcome, enjoyed the space, and sincerely enjoyed the food. Meeting new people and eating new things is our priority when traveling, and Les Fous de L'lle ticked both boxes. Day one of our twenty-day adventure in Paris is done, and I hope the next restaurants we encounter are just as lovely. x

Yelp
This is an excellent restaurant, with wonderful food, and cheerful helpful staff! My wife and I just flew into Paris this morning, and after a long flight and immigration processing procedure we were ready for lunch. We scanned Yelp and found that this restaurant was close by our hotel and had great reviews. We saw the menu from the window but it was all in French. Knowing only a little French we decided to go in anyway. Having grown up hearing how "rude" the French are, I was somewhat intimidated. I only speak a few phrases. This was my wife's and my FIRST PARIS RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE EVER. I asked the hostess, in French, if they speak English...you may wonder, are the French rude, snobbish??? And the answer... ...NO...!!! NOT AT ALL. The young lady smiled warmly and replied, "Yes, I speak English!" (in English). That was a wonderful beginning to our trip, instantly shattering years of rude French stereotype BS from our minds. They made our experience warm and enjoyable. They immediately got us seated and quicky brewed us a fresh double espresso for me, and a cappuccino for my wife; it was a Lavazza coffee which we love. For an appetizer we munched on a liver pate with a fresh baked baguette and some candied orange which was absolutely delicious. For the main course I indulged in a ham fillet mignon with mushrooms cooked with butter and garlic. These were the best mushrooms I have ever had in my life, having a texture that was almost crunchy when you bit into it, with a burst of flavour in your mouth. The meal was definitely one of the best I've ever had. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND PLAN ON RETURNING...!!!

Yelp
I have found perfection in Paris, and I am so happy about it! Everything about Les Fous de L'Ile is amazing! Right in the heart of the Marais, just a short walk from the Saint Paul metro, you can't go wrong. The decor is a mix of beautiful and eclectic and a little bit "fou." The menu (available in French and English) is short but complete. The service was surprisingly attentive for Paris and it was wonderful. I recommend the Coupe de Champagne. And even if you're not too hungry, stop in for a cocktail at a gorgeous bar.

Yelp
Wonderful service and delicious food. I don't speak french and they were very helpful. Everything they suggested was yummy and the entire experience was perfect. I came back again on another trip and my second meal was even better than the first. I highly recommend them and I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Fabulous service. Even though they didn't have English menus, they went out of their way to accommodate us. The food was superb and the service exceptional! Recommended by Thierry at Wine Tasting in Paris (which I also highly recommend) and it was spot on!!

Mark G.

Yelp
We were ignored from the moment we were seated. Literally. We watched several other patrons who were seated up to 15 minutes after us receive their menus, water, wine lists, wines, bread and even their orders while we waited with an empty table in front of us. We ended up leaving after about 20 minutes after having an unproductive conversation with the Maitre de when we politely asked her who our assigned waiter was and when we might expect to have our service begin. She was, at best, indifferent and offered no help. We will be advising our Paris friends and visitors to avoid this place and we will not be returning to give it a second chance. Too many other great Paris restaurants with excellent service and food.

JC C.

Yelp
We weren't very hungry our last night in Paris. We shared burrata with heirloom tomatoes, asparagus risotto and ile flottante for dessert washed down with a white Bordeaux. The food-delicious, the service-friendly & relaxed, a perfect finish to our trip.

Yelp
I visited Paris solo (and for the first time!) in October and happened up this place the final night of my trip. I LOVED it. Yummy food, unpretentious atmosphere, a server with a great sense of humor, and even though I was always a bit hesitant about my dining alone everywhere some brilliant tablemates (next to me) who kept conversation lively.

Yelp
We were on the island behind Notre Dame and my mom wanted to find the restaurant she ate at years before. After much searching, she decided this was this one. It was, but with new decor and owners. I have mixed reviews on this. The appetizer was to die for, but my main course wasn't so-so. I ordered a pea cappuccino with bacon and then mackerel with olive tapenade and polenta. I love fish, all sorts, but the mackerel was way too fishes/earthy for me. The polenta was a bit too dry. There was cod with pepper relish ordered and that was delicious. My husband ordered a filet and that was cooked at just the right amount of heat, it was still very pink in the center. Definitely, one of the best meals in Paris.

Yelp
I really wanted steak for lunch at a reasonable price. I spent about an hour looking for a good place to down and I finally came to this little spot. Their business deal looked pretty good so I went for it and I'm so happy I did! I didn't really enjoy the anchovy appetizer (but I don't think I like anchovies so much). But the Flank Steak was worth the whole experience. I got it rare and their french fries were McDonald style. And the Staff is very nice as well. I'm almost certain you wont regret it. Beer + Starter + Main = 23 Euro
google avatar

Yelp
Solid dinner choice in Paris. Quality food, not touristy. They had English menus, thankfully. They have set menu pricing. I can't remember exactly but it was maybe around 20 euro for appetizer + entree, or entree + dessert. I chose the former and picked foie gras for my appetizer, which added a 4 euro surcharge. The baked eggs are also a nice started. The lamb chops with potatoes were generously portioned and very juicy. Our neighbor had the hamburger that looked delicious and could be split by two people. I have absolutely no complaints about the food. The interior is full of chicken/rooster paintings and statutes and the lighting is a tad bright, so it's not the most romantic of atmospheres. We walked in around 8pm on a Friday night and didn't have to wait for a table, though most of them were full.

Yelp
This Michelin Rated restaurant was the highlight of our culinary adventure in Paris. It was late, we were tired and hungry and we had nop idea where to eat dinner after a long day of sightseeing.... and out the corner of my girlfriends eye she noticed the cute little spot & once I noticed the Michelin rating it was all over. We had the; Ravioli appetizer - 5 star Fish & Chips - 4 star Peppercorn steak - 5 star Creme Brulee - 5 star The restaurant was decorated with several chicken (of all kinds) and very cute. The service was quick, friendly and accommodating and the place was clean and well deserving of the Michelin rating... I wish we had gone back!

Yelp
Always a let down when one is hoping for a special meal from a starred venue. The service sets the tone and we felt as if we were intruding upon the chatting staff by having to request water, menus- dessert! A crust of bread on the floor got kicked around quite a bit by them before I asked if that wasn't a gift for their house mouse. The menu is small and food was only okay. What one could get at any decent brasserie in the area. Their tiny wine list was out of several of the choicest bottles which made selection difficult. How they rate a star- they have had one forever according to the tacky decals prominently displayed at the front entry- is suspicious to me. There are far better places to enjoy in this area.

Yelp
Honestly, though my friend and I were really looking forward to eating here, it was pretty underwhelming. The place was pretty popular--possibly owing to the praise it received in the Michelin guide--so it's possible we just didn't do a fantastic job of ordering. We contemplated ordering the three-course menu but realized that the one dessert we wanted (two scoops of ice cream from Berthillon) was actually cheaper if we just ate it directly at Berthillon, so we instead chose to go with the two. For my appetizer, I had the eggs mimosa with crab. While I thought it was pretty tasty, it was honestly just two, cold hard-boiled eggs with what was essentially a bit of crab salad inside (e.g., deviled eggs with some artificial crab). For my entree, I had the steak with some sort of sauce (which I didn't really like, so I ate it plain) and fries. I found the steak pretty unexciting, and it paled in comparison to what I'm accustomed to (to be fair, I'm from Texas, so I think my expectations might be too high). On a side note, it's a cute space, and their rooster theme makes for interesting decor.

R W.

Yelp
We went to this place based on Rick Steve's recommendation in his Paris book. Good choice. The service was fabulous. Our waitress saw that we are not French and she offered the English menu right away, which saved us from having to ask. The food was excellent. I had the candied tomatoes with the "good" bacon fat. My own fault because I have an aversion to fat, but the tomatoes were superb. The bacon fat, not so good. For the second course, I had the stuffed squids. The giant squids were stuffed with vegetables, and they were served with a generous serving of more veges. Right up my alley. Good food, good service, I recommend it.

Yelp
Delicious!! We loved this spot. We came for lunch and each ordered a starter and entree, then we shared a dessert and ended with two espressos. The food is incredible. I ordered the mushrooms to start - light and delicious, the egg was cooked to perfection! My husband ordered the roasted chicken rillettes, our waitress described it before it arrived (sort of like pate) so we were not surprised. It was very good and the mustard it came with was also exceptional. For our main course, I had the fish which came in a flavorful saffron sauce. The dish was light (a nice change from all the bread and cheese of our trip) but still filling which I appreciated. My husband had the duck which came beautifully presented and served on a lovely carrot puree. We shared a chocolate pineapple dessert which was very good - glad we shared, it was big! And we ended the meal with espressos, served with a very pretty French meringue on the side. I loved the rooster decor and homey feel of the restaurant. I wish we'd been able to come back a second time on our trip, everything on the menu looked amazing and this ended up being a favorite of the trip.

Yelp
Recommended for a light and easy dinner in Paris. Clean and unpretentious. We made a reservation for a Friday at 7:00. Busy but plenty of room. People in the room looked to be a mix of tourists and francophone locals/tourists. Wait staff was kind and spoke English well (which is good because I sound like a 2 year old in French). All of the grouped items (starters vs entrees) have the same price which makes the choice easy. I had pouched egg and spinach for a starter. Good flavors and egg was perfect. My entree was gnocchi with a tasty citrusy sauce. The gnocchi were seared which I really liked. Wine selection was strong but we opted for a carafe. No real complaints and solid experience all around.

Yelp
Absolutely stellar dining experience! My wife and I came here on our third night in Paris with the idea of having a great "French" meal. We were more than delighted by the food and the service. The interior decor is a bit quirky, but warm and charming and we were quite comfortable. Our three servers were indulgent with our attempts to speak French which was unnecessary as all spoke very good English and they did a wonderful job of explaining the menu and making recommendations. Speaking of recommendations...have the Camembert cheese plate for desert! It's served hot, almost like a Fondue, with toasted bread for dipping. It was beyond delicious and the perfect end to a fantastic meal.

Yelp
Food was good and spacial, excellent wines and cocktails selection. Service was welcoming and efficient. We loved the design and the atmosphere.

Yelp
Worth every penny! Visited this place twice in one week because of the delicious food and kind staff. They have an option of getting an entree with plat or plat with dessert or entree, plat, and dessert. No matter what you go with, it's the right choice. The tomato gazpacho was out of this world (I have never been about soup, let alone cold soups but this one has changed my outlook on life). The steak was just as yum. While you should absolutely try some wine their cocktails are delicious. I had the Mojito Royal because given the heat wave I needed something much more refreshing. My friend had the Le vie en Rose and was also a satisfied customer.

Yelp
Exceptional and trendy. They sure do have a thing for chicken..... They tend to get busy quick so go during the in between hours if you don't want to battle the crowds or rush.

Yelp
What an amazing establishment this place is small yet accompanies a really good group of people the food is five star

Yelp
We loved this spot. Great food. Great service. Relaxing comfortable atmosphere (unless you have a chicken phobia, but more on that later) Great service. Accommodates English but please, please, please make a full-hearted attempt to speak French! And it was fun. They have adopted an interesting modern day farmhouse vibe that amazingly avoids any hint of a shabby-sheik-Martha Stewart vibe despite the presence of rooster statues and figurines everywhere. Right in the heart of the Latin Quarter. They take all cards. A must visit. Must orders include the tar-tare, the foie gras, any seafood, the duck and even the hamburger. For dessert, order their "Greedy Coffee" which gives you a shot of espresso and a tasting of four individual desserts.

Yelp
My third stay on the Ile Saint-Louie and I always come back here. This is the wonderful, fun neighborhood bistro that everyone wants to find in Paris. Very friendly to locals and tourists alike. I had a marvelous starter of mussels, a main of squid nicely prepared, and my favorite dessert of all while in Paris, Cafe Gourmand. The wine list is complete without being voluminous and has remarkable choices for all budgets. Not to be missed for either lunch or dinner!

Yelp
We wandered into this cute little restaurant after deciding it met all my personal "how not to land in a tourist spot" criterias. (No one speaks English? Check. No one welcomes you in or asks if you like to try the place? Check. Packed at 9pm? Check. Cute and rustic? 30 minute wait? Check.) Delicious foie gras (melt-in-your-mouth good), good sea bass, amazing lamb shank (especially if you like a more gamey flavor), delicious duck... and thoroughly enjoyed the lively atmosphere and the adorable decor with displays of chicken surrounding the restaurant (ironic of course, being that there were no chicken on the menu). Glad we didn't get convinced elsewhere.

Yelp
The food really is not great. Went there with wife and a vegetarian friend. While they do advertise a "vegetarian plate", I should have known just by the absence of name that it would be terrible, and really it was terrible. The dish was just chopped vegetables in broth. I really felt bad for my friend. Also we were told at some point to stop eating bread since they were running out. Didn't even try a dessert, at this stage it would have been a waste of money. Thankfully we had much better food experiences during the rest of our stay.

Yelp
This is a very nice restaurant in the middle of Paris where you can get a lovely meal for a great price. They are even in the Michelin guide for very good price and quality. This is also in the middle of the city so it is great if you are on a trip to Paris. I made a reservation to have dinner here after I read the menu online and saw the quirky photos of the restaurant. The theme in the restaurant is the Rooster and they are everywhere; little statues, paintings and even a wall filled with rooster drawings by costumers (of course I made one as well!). I went with the 3 course menu deal which was about 26 euros or something, together with red wine (very nice). As a starter I choose grilled sardines and I got a whole bowl. It was simple and delicious. As a main I choose Carpaccio, which was also a big plate full, with salad on top and fries as a side. So good! Because it was so much food and I was more full than I expected in the beginning I decided on a light and simple dessert, the fruit soup. Which was exactly that. A could soup of spiced citrus fruits. Refreshing, simple and nice. Just what I needed. Also tried a bit of the risotto and a pear/chocolate dessert. very good as well! A very good deal with simple classy honest food.

Yelp
This was my favorite restaurant during my stay in Paris, so much so that we returned for a second meal. I highly recommend.

Yelp
I was looking for some good French Cuisine after a long day sight seeing and came across this restaurant on the way to find the Metro. The menu was simple French fare but well prepared. I had the chicken oyster in cream and finished the meal with an expertly prepared crème brûlée. The wine list is extensive and they take mercy and have their menu translated to English. I would recommend this place for lunch and dinner.

Yelp
The hanger steak is delicious and full of flavor . It just melts in your mouth. The fries are crispy and hot. The shallots are grainy and the mixed salad is mixed greens with a caper dressing. The meal was great.

Yelp
Beautiful small place, great service, and great food. The quality of the food was beyond excellent. I felt like we were in one of those Chef's shows on tv.... the food was delicious and a work or art. Service was great. We highly recommend this place.

Yelp
We were originally going to the Brasserie St. Louis but after reading the reviews and the menu, we made a last minute change because we were 2 families with 4 kids all under 15. What a find! From the moment we called to see if they could take 8 people in 2 hours for dinner in a Saturday night, to the greeting at arrival, and the very charming and patient waitress, we knew we were in the right place. The kids all had cheeseburgers, two of us had the filet which came with potatoes, and one had the carpaccio. All of them were delicious! The only negative was that I ordered my steak medium and it was definitely done. So I'd err on the side of medium rare. Also what they called Pesto was actually arugula on the carpaccio. For dessert, I'd highly recommend the coffee with small bites which turned out to be 4 bite size desserts - a pineapple compote, strawberry macaroon, some decadent chocolate ball and a mini chocolate muffin. All are made in house. In total, it was about 140 euro for 4 which included 4 main dishes, 4 desserts, small carafe of wine and bottled water. Delicious! And they are very patient with kids too! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Great French restaurant and was very reasonable especially since it is Michelin rated.

Yelp
Les Fous de L'Ile has an warm atmosphere decorated with chickens of all shapes and sizes. The food we ordered had great presentation and our server was very helpful and friendly. We ordered three appetizers, four main, and one dessert for our party of four and shared. Everything was very good, only complaint was that there didn't seem to be any grilled dishes. However, the meat dishes were delicious despite not being grilled. I would shy away from their dishes with seafood, as the two members of our party that ordered that didn't seem to enjoy their dishes as much as those that didn't. Would definitely recommend the dessert we had: a strawberry "pie". Though it was not like the pies we were used to (being American), it was still a tasty end to the meal. It came as a sort of biscuit-like dish with a layer of strawberry preserves on top, as well as fresh strawberries and cream. Overall, we had a pleasant experience with this restaurant.

Yelp
This was our first experience in dining on Ile Saint-Louis and just around the corner from our AirBnB rental. This is a quaint place, nicely decorated with chickens of course and offering inside dining only. The waitresses were very attentive, quick and hard working. The atmosphere within the restaurant was quiet but festive with lively but subdued conversation. We were quickly served our orders. The chicken and bean stew was fabulous as the chicken was melt in your mouth good, lightly seasoned with beans that were a just complement to the meat. The salmon dish consumed by my partner had a delicate taste, was simply seasoned and served with mixed greens. Actually warranted a 4.5 star rating.
