"This property located on the Causse de Gramat, close to Saint-Céré, has a hotel with its restaurants, a peaceful garden, a pool, and a golf course not far away. This fine dining restaurant wins diners over with its elegant traditional interior looking out onto the summer terrace and the garden. The pre-Impressionist paintings on the walls point to one of the passions of the chef, who was an antique dealer in a previous life. Today, he devotes himself solely to cooking, delighting diners with quality produce and exceptionally fine craftsmanship. This lovely dining experience is also great value for money. Not to mention the attentive service courtesy of Madame Bizat." - Michelin Inspector

"The faultlessly bucolic Lot countryside provides the backdrop to this estate, which is close to Montal château. It is an ideal establishment for a country break. Spacious, comfortable rooms decorated in a modern vein." - Tablet Hotels

We discovered this little hotel during our trip to the Caves: Gouffre de Padirac. The reception was warm, and the service was efficient. The rooms were simple yet very comfortable, and they had a lovely terrace with a table and two chairs. The restaurant was filled with art, had good lighting, and provided outstanding food and excellent service. During breakfast this morning, every table was set with two croissants, two baguettes, and two pancake slices. Guests could also enjoy French coffee, seasonal fruit, and homemade peach and prune marmalade. Additionally, there was a choice of eggs, ham, bacon, or sausage. We chose to dine in nearby towns since the hotel restaurant at Les Trois was full. My favorite feature was the pool area. The water was chlorine-free and at the perfect temperature for an August summer day. We noticed many guests by the pool with their dogs,. There was a shower available by the pool and plenty of shade on the chairs. Just remember to bring your towel.

The food at Les Trois Soleils de Montal is really something special. We have been here three times now, from Australia, and each time it has been wonderful. My favourite courses this time were the cold tomato soup with herb sorbet (I did not even know that I liked cold tomato soup, til now), the Mont Royal squab cooked twice with sweet garlic cream(very tender), the upside-down basket of provincial apricots with raspberry and pistachio choux pastry, and the pork dish. I love the way Monsieur Bizat adds extra herbs, spices and other flavours to each dish to make it unique. It is very original cooking. The lovely sommelier found us a brilliant Chardonnay that was not too expensive. Madam Bizat always makes sure there are delicious macarons in the room for when we arrive. We really appreciated the big, clean pool, as it was hot for the 2 days of our stay. There was a shady tree that caste its shadow onto the pool so we did not get sunburnt. We had a health issue while we were there. Madam Bizat and another staff member were really kind and helpful.

Rooms are nothing special. Sometimes I feel I could make a living out of consultancy on hotel bathroom designs: it’s so simple. Take a few showers. Grope for a towel. Can’t reach one? Point made. But the 3 Suns is no worse than most in this respect.||||But the food! We had the €68 menu. An immaculate double amuse bouche of a tiny chilled melon soup and a tender leek offering with underlying pate of maybe tuna, to start. Then white crab meat with pink grapefruit, lemon and cucumber, topped with a crab flavoured foam. Next came a piece of pollock poached in a light green curried sauce, and cooked to perfection.||||The plat was milk fed veal with thyme flavoured wild mushrooms. Carefully selected cheeses were served with walnut bread, and followed by two desserts: an apricot concoction, and a chocolate mousse, bath delightful.||||And so to bed. Back next year we hope.

5 of us went for Sunday lunch. Two of them didn't eat seafood, so the restaurant suggested subsitutes within the fixed menu. Not everyone does that. I never choose to eat à la Carte, so the absence of such an offer did not surprise or disappoint me. Actually I applaud their decision, as it means the chef can spend more time on perfecting every dish. ||||Service was meticulous and friendly. Three very nice amuses accompanied our aperitif of a bottle of excellent white wine from Bergerac. I won't go through the food blow by blow. but merely highlight the meat course which was a magnificent dish of squab (hutch bred pigeon). The breast was roasted to perfection and the legs confit. Good vegetables, arguably a little too fussy - but what can a Michelin starred chef do? The Madiran we chose to accompany it was delightful. ||||All in all, this was a very satisfactory event on all counts. Our friends who come from the USA said that each course would have cost the price of our entire menu in most city restaurants there. We loved the food, the wine and the relaxed and friendly ambiance. Although this is my first review of this establishment, it was not my first visit, nor will it be my last.

We spent nine nights at Les Trois Soleils in June 2018. The grounds were lovely, the room (a junior suite) comfortable and spacious. The location for touring the Lot is very good; we went north to the Corrèze, south to the Lot valley and Cahors, and southwest to Figeac. ||||I agree that the restaurant had ts limitations. Everything was well prepared and nicely served, but we didn’t always want a five-course dinner. So we ate there three nights and elsewhere the rest of the time, and that worked out. The 12-euro breakfast was a bit overpriced for a croissant, a pain au chocolat, a bit of baguette, yogurt and coffee, but convenience outweighed everything.||||What was absolutely wonderful was the service. The owner must never sleep; she was always around with a bright smile to chat and to help. Over the nine days we got to know her a bit, and she helped make our stay perfect. But I wasn’t just her; the young man who also staffs the desk was a bit less polished but very accommodating and eager to please,||||St Cere is a real, functioning town, not drop-dead gorgeous like some of the MBV villages in the area but a great place to base (has a convenient easy to use laundromat about five minutes from the hotel. There’s also a really good italian restaurant where we ate a couple of times. ||||If we return to the Lot we would return in a heartbeat. And BTW the Lot is a gorgeous and unspoiled area, much less touristy than the neighboring Dordogne.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and ate in the main restaurant both nights. It was a very delicious and incredibly well put together menu. The staff were all very friendly and kind. The hotel is in a nice setting with rooms that have balconies. Apparently there is a 2nd more casual restaurant near the pool, but I didn't go there. The hotel rooms (at least mine) was a little tired, in terms of decor and t the shower was open into the bedroom except for a little screen. The female staff were especially friendly and charming and helpful with us selecting wines. I would definitely recommend eating in the hotel at least once, it's a little expensive maybe (€62 each, but you get 5 courses) but really fantastic food and service. Little touches like the macarons in the room and the aperitif are really lovely! Thank you

What a fantastic find. Lovely relaxed atmosphere our room had every need and the bed was very comfortable. The food we experienced was one of the best we have had in a 1* Michelin restaurant. Our stay was combined with going to Gouffre de Padirac but after torrential rain and a thunder storm the tour was cancelled on safety grounds so now we have an excuse to visit Les Trois Soleils de Montal again but really we don't need one.

My daughter and I spent three nights here while exploring St. Cere. I cannot say enough about the hotel. Our room had a lovely balcony that fronted the front of the hotel with was not a bad view. The room was spacious with a very modernized bathroom. The grounds are lovely. We walked around a good part of the day. There is also another small cafe a short walk from here where we had lunch one day. Breakfast is served daily and fresh french croissants are a staple. I can't' wait to return.

Great atmosphere and well coooked menu of french food. Service was good, professional and friendly. Can particularly recommend the snails in garlic butter - these made my day as they were cooked beautifully :-)
