"The French Moroccan restaurant from Amy Morton and James Beard Award-winner Debbie Gold has a huge outdoor space including both a covered terrace and fire pits surrounded by club chairs. Visit in any season to warm up with dinner and a cocktail like the signature G&T made with rosemary tonic and pink peppercorns or a festive Koval cranberry spritz. It's French Moroccan cuisine. The cheese plate is divine; the cheese selections change - we had a blue cheese, a smoky cheddar, and another creamy cheese. The portions were enough for a party of three. The tagine of chicken and couscous was delicious; the hot sauce on the side was too hot! The steak frites was savory. The mussels should have been my favorite; however, many were so small, I didn't eat them, and four shells weren't even open. I was disappointed. We ordered a side of roasted carrots; they were not "lovely" as the menu suggests. Some were too hard to bite, and a few were mushy. They have a varied selection of desserts. We shared the roasted pear; it too was tasty. The restaurant decor doesn't suggest France or Morocco; the seating is too close together. Prices are high; however, that is an issue because of the current economy. I would go back to order the chicken again. The service was average.

The restaurant is in a great location with a lovely ambiance, particularly in the summer. I had been looking forward to dining there, having passed by many times over the past few months. The staff were friendly and attentive at first, but after we expressed that some of our food was underwhelming, our previously attentive waiter seemed to vanish. The oysters we ordered were very small, and my chicken dish was just mediocre—likely due to the way the chicken breast was prepared (I skipped the bacon, which, in hindsight, was probably a mistake). My daughter requested chicken on her Caesar salad and was disappointed with the blanched chicken, which required her to peel off the skin. Grilled chicken would have been a much better option. Although the salad didn’t originally come with chicken and it was a custom request, I would have expected the waiter to advise against it. The third entrée, a salmon dish, was quite good. My daughter didn’t finish her chicken, and we decided to skip dessert due to the lackluster dinner experience. Considering the high price, I expected better service and for them to at least waive the charge for the chicken on the salad, but that didn’t happen. A $150 bill for two teenagers and one parent (including one cocktail, no dessert) felt excessive. Overall, the experience left us disappointed. Perhaps it was just an off night, but I won’t be returning—there are better and more affordable dining options in the area.

Overall ambiance was great for cocktails. Dishes are overrated lacking detail. My favorite was Tagine Chicken. The couscous lamb was not tender(over cooked), The fish still has a piece of scale in it (informed our waitress, just a ohh response from her), Red watercress was the dish I don’t get with no flavor and poorly presented. The toasted bread with the Duck Liver Mousse was unbreakable. Waitress’s service could be more friendly and attentive!

I loved Found and was really excited when I heard Amy will open a new restaurant at this place. My expectations were high and have not been disappointed. The space is great, not easy to bring a food atmosphere into this round building but I like it a lot. Had the couscous (veggie) & a good glass of wine. Cesar Salad upfront. Not cheap - but worth it if you like a good dinner experience and enjoy stylish venues. Glad our neighborhood has another excellent choice after loosing the beloved found!

Loved it here, went with a friend and really enjoyed all the food ordered. I started with a goat cheese tartlet and my friend had the chickpea stater, both good preferred the chickpea stater. I had the skate wing and my friend had the grouper, both good, preferred the skate wing. The service was good and the ambiance is great in the bar area where we sat in.

Google
French/Moroccan fusion restaurant in Evanston. I was skeptical at first, but Amy Morton knocked it out of the park again. The food was delicious. She must spend time in Morocco. I have to say, with all the great food on the menu, my favorite was the Morrocan mint tea. The large tea pot is stuffed with fresh mint, and then hot water is poured in the pot. What a way to settle your stomach after a big meal. Delicious!

Had a great ladies night out, we ordered multiple dishes to share. All the dishes were flavorful, we had a bread that was kinda extra toasty and hard and our server change it to a warm baguette that reminded me of Paris.

Love LeTour!! Sophisticated atmosphere balanced by welcoming warmth in the heart of Evanston. The staff is fantastic, upbeat and knowledgeable - very helpful with wine selection. The beet salad with goat cheese was absolutely delicious and the Caesar salad hits every note. One of our favorite spots in Evanston!!

Yelp
I came back to LeTour this past Wednesday and had a phenomenal experience across the board. The drinks were great (wine Wednesday is half off all bottles of wine!), the appetizers are wonderful and not too filling or too shy with the portion size, the chicken was absolutely delicious. Dessert was also top tier-- which was my main complaint from last time I was here. The ambiance is modern and upscale but with personable service and fun music. Our server, Rintska, was exceptional and lively without being overbearing. She also very kindly gave us an exit drink to cap off our night. This place has made changes since it opened, and for anyone looking for an upscale dinner in Evanston I'd certainly recommend it. The barn and letour -- both Amy Morton led-- are the best in town.

Yelp
The restaurant is in a good location and has nice ambience - especially in the summer. I was actually quite excited to go there as I had walked by this restaurant many times over the last few months. Staff was friendly an attentive, but our previously friendly waiter disappeared after we mentioned that we were not too excited about some of our food. The oyster we ordered were tiny, and my chicken dish was just okay - mostly due to how the chicken breast was prepared (I did skip the bacon which was apparently a mistake). My daughter asked for chicken on the Caesar salad, and was really put off by the blanched chicken (grilled would have been better) where she had to peel the skin off. To be fair, the salad didn't come with chicken and it was a custom order, but I would have expected the waiter to recommend against it. The third entree was quite good, a salmon dish. My daughter didn't finish the chicken and we skipped dessert due to mediocre dinner experience. Given the high price tag I would have expected them to be more forthcoming and at the very least not charge for the chicken on the salad, but this was not the case. A $150 bill for 2 teenagers and a parent (one cocktail without dessert) seemed too high. Overall I didn't have good vibes and we left very disappointed. Maybe it was just bad luck, but I won't be dining there again - there are better and more affordable restaurants in the area.

Yelp
Le tour was one of the restaurants that are listed as top ten for French food within Illinois. We went recently to try their items out and I would say they are okay. There was no major wow factor in my option. Their appetizers are very lacking size wise. The liver appetizer had only a tiny bit of bread to go with. I feel if they gave more bread or sliced it so it's more convenient to share it would be better. The service overall was good. I feel that she was attentive and because they ordered through a machine it allowed her to tell us in real time what was left of each dish. The ambiance is pretty good. We sat indoors so it was a tad dark and hard to see. I think it's a romantic spot if you are looking for a darker restaurant with candle light.

Yelp
This is such a cool spot located in downtown Evanston in the old Chase Bank building. They have plenty of space inside with beautiful modern decor and also an outdoor patio. We made reservations but they had plenty of seating especially indoors. This was the first time we tried LeTour and enjoyed it. We ordered a drink and the waiter was really honest about what was good, which was really appreciated. He steered us away from a drink and recommended some specific ones. We decided to start with the Ruby Red Beets appetizer and Wow!! That goat cheese was amazing- all the flavors complimented so well. My only feedback would be more hazelnuts on top!! We had a light sprinkle and I could have used triple that amount to have a crunch in every bite. For entrees we ordered the trout meuniere and the steak/frites. The fish was outstanding- it had great flavor from the brown butter sauce and capers. The asparagus was the perfect pairing! I liked the fish better than the steak. The steak was just okay- I should have asked what cut of meat it was before I ordered but because I like mine more done it was tough. I know certain cuts can do this when you cook it longer. The fries were crispy and flavorful. The ketchup has a strong vinegar taste, which I liked! We didn't try dessert because the person I was with was avoiding sugar. I would come back! Overall experience 4/5

Yelp
First timer at LeTour., I Tried the Brothy Banger Mussels for dinner. Delicious and abundant. Our waitress (C.C.) was wonderful and very helpful in deciding what to choose. I was a little concerned, since the mussels mentioned a spicy harissa broth, and C.C. told me they could customize the spice to my taste since "spicy" can sometimes be overwhelming... I was grateful. I started with the LeTour Gin and Tonic. Not a traditional G&T, using two different gins, with a sprig of rosemary, and a bunch of pink peppercorns, in a large wine glass. Very pretty, and very refreshing. The "traditional" in me really wanted to find a reason to dislike it, but the actual me wanted to order a second one. My dinner partners had the Chicken Paillard and the Steak Frites. Both were quickly consumed along with their non-alcoholic "Provence in a glass", and "ma petite". We sat in a nicely decorated corner of the restaurant and people-watched while we dined, never feeling rushed, while we were well taken-care-of by C.C. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
We were a party of 6 and they put us at a table which was in between the bar walkway, kitchen walkway, and front entrance walkway. I hate when I am at a restaurant and people are constantly walking behind you with barely any room to spare. Our service lacked because the water boy served us all waters and spilled. We did not tell him this right away thinking he will notice it and clean it up. NOPE! He left and we had to call someone else over to pick up all the water. How unprofessional and what lack of sense! Our food we rated at a 6/10 overall. My salmon was great the sauce of the salad was too salty. The oysters were great actually. Not too fishy, nor sandy, and very clean!! For dessert we waited about 20 mins before the waiter even told us that they were out of something that someone else had ordered at our table. Ummm why??? We had somewhere to be and nothing was said before to even notify us right away to make an alternative choice. The waiter knew we had somewhere to be. He did make up for it by giving us free dessert to go although forgot disposable spoons so again we had to ask someone else to bring it on over for us. Service lacks of an abundance!!! Ambiance is good!!! Food portions are small and are meh overall!! Go somewhere else to spend in my opinion!

Yelp
I can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was last evening: 1. A Happy Hour with great options. 2. An attentive waiter who was pleasant and engaging, but not overbearing. 3. A host who set a beautiful tone for the room through her pleasant exchanges with patrons and staff. 4. A caesar salad that was so delicious. Crisp croutons, shaved parmesan, a hint of dijon flavoring. 5. A tasty Sangria which had me ordering another. 6. A beautiful smashed burger with gruyere and grilled onions. Perfect! It almost tasted like steak - such a great texture and flavor! 7. A gorgeous ambiance with intriguing and aesthetically pleasing art. 8. Warm, fresh bread. 9. Patio options. 10. Super elegant restaurant. Will be back tonight and Friday for my Meetup. Their yelp rating is way underrated.

Yelp
I came here for lunch on 6/12/23 with my family and my sister's friend's family. We arrived straight after the Northwestern all-schools ceremony and it was full of families celebrating their grads - very warm environment! The restaurant usually isn't open on Mondays but likely offered the slot due to commencement. Our server was patient as we waited for the full party to arrive, and was even more helpful as two of us had to leave early for the airport. Our dishes arrived with enough time for myself and my dad to finish our plates without feeling too rushed. They gave everyone a free shot of prosecco which was awesome. The bread was also delicious. I ordered a chicken dish with polenta and broccoli and it was pretty good. I'm not the biggest fan of the mustard taste, so the bread dip and the sauce for my chicken didn't feel life changing to me. But overall a great meal!

Yelp
What a wonderful dinner! A beautifully appointed restaurant with a huge outdoor patio space, and even gire pits for lounging, great service, exquisite food. Lovely.

Ruth V.

Yelp
Service was friendly and attentive. Creative cocktails and dessert. The space is artistic and inviting...a great place for relaxing and conversation. Wish the salad and main dishes had less salt.

Cindy L.

Yelp
Le Tour Evanston offers a charming atmosphere with decent cuisine. The presentation of the dishes is nice, but the flavors are more on the ordinary side. The major drawback is the pricing - it feels a bit too high for the overall experience. The service is good, adding to the pleasant dining atmosphere. It's a nice spot, but be prepared for a higher bill.

Yelp
My wife and I went on our anniversary, had a great experience. We happened to sit at a table in the main dining room, which has a great overview of the corner of Davis & Orrington as the sun was going down. LeTour plays soft French music so we could hear each other talk. Our server "Ben" was friendly and attentive. Food: My wife had the "Sunday Supper," a three-course meal. She is a vegetarian, enjoyed her selections. I started with the Morrocan eggplant -- very flavorful. Then the mussels: At most places they are tiny but these were twice as large as others I've gotten in the area. They were cooked in a rich, spicy wine sauce -- so much I had enough to take home. Then the dessert, a truly unique butterscotch/graham cracker pudding-like concoction that was superb. After dessert, Ben brought out 2 small glasses of wine with a sparkler (when was the last time you saw one of THOSE???) to acknowledge our anniversary. We'll be back.

Jonathan Y.

Yelp
We had an excellent meal at Le Tour, our first time there. The food was delicious. We had an eggplant appetizer from the specials list. For the main course, I had the mussels in a spicy harissa sauce, which was outstanding. And our server brought lots of fresh bread for soaking up the sauce. My wife loved her monkfish dinner. For dessert, we had the chocolate mousse. The ambience and service were wonderful. Our server was very attentive, and she brought us complimentary Prosecco since we were celebrating our anniversary. We will come back again!

PJ S.

Yelp
Really wonderful food and great service. Prices were a little high and the bread that came with the duck liver mousse was over-toasted and really unpleasant to eat.

Yelp
Just had a truly lovely outdoor brunch at LeTour. Went with a friend for my birthday, and thankfully, the weather was gorgeous. We sat in LeTour's new outdoor seating, which had a mix of sun and shade based on the trees. Unfortunately, the trees were shedding some sort of pollen/seeds, which coated our table and clothes and hair and occasionally fell in our glasses and food. That was the only negative of my experience. Ordered the baguette with jam and butter, semolina pancakes, and egg souffle sandwich. All were delicious. Next time, I'll skip the baguette (good, but could easily recreate myself at home) and swap in a different appetizer. The table cakes were uniquely thick without being too dense. The egg souffle sandwich was seasoned to perfection - my favorite part of brunch. The waiter brought out two tastes of prosecco because it was my birthday. Unfortunately, those went to waste because I don't drink. But the gesture was nice. The cost for the experience was surprisingly reasonable, around $40 before taxes. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
This was our 1st visit to Amy Morton's not-too-French French restaurant, Le Tour, in Evanston, Illinois. We will be back ASAP. We had requested to sit outside on their lovely patio but when we arrived it was just too windy and getting a bit cool. The hostess offered to seat us anywhere we liked and suggested a table right next to the open patio door, somewhat sheltered; it was perfect. My husband enjoyed a nice Bordeaux, while I opted for a chef-made and delicious fresh Sangria, served beautifully. Our server, Steve, was excellent, knowledgeable and friendly (but not too friendly). My husband and I shared the delicious mousse to start; crisp bread and house-made jam. My husband ordered and enjoyed the steak frites (opposed to a previous review, the frites/fries arrived scalding hot & crisp). I ordered Salad Niçoise, one of my favorite things to eat. It was, hands down, the best I have eaten, in or outside of Nice, although it could have used a few more olives. OK, forget that. The tuna was just seared on the outside with the inside nicely raw; the potatoes were fried crisp, the first time I have had it presented thusly. Greens were crisp but soft, hb egg was cooked to perfection--not jammy but perfectly yellow. Green beans and capers were green and yummy. Chef Debby Gold certainly knows her way around the kitchen. Thank you, Chef! See you soon.

Sabrina C.

Yelp
The food ended up being good but they were sold out of the salmon on their brunch menu which is what I would have preferred to get. Overall I was satisfied with the meal. The dessert could have used more flavor though. The waiters were all pleasant and the place has nice decor!

Jessy K.

Yelp
I actually quite enjoyed the food. The reviews appear mixed but i felt the food was great! The bread was warm and soft and tasted great. I did slightly wish it was served sliced on a plate, but that's honestly not an issue, just for sake of convenience and ease. The mussels weren't over cooked which is rare sometimes at restaurants that serve mussels. The toasted bread served with the mussels was a bit harder than I'd like. The thinner sliced pieces were fine and soaked up the sauce, but the big chunk of hard bread was almost impossible to eat without making your hands a crumby mess. The monkfish was good and the risotto was unique with a slightly grainy texture due to the lentils. We also had mocktails which we were glad they served as I try to avoid alcohol. They were pretty pricy for the amount they give, but they were absolutely delicious. The water cups were a surprise to me. They were small and shallow, so we kept having to refill our cups. Cute novelty, slightly inconvenient. The interior was decorated beautifully and the tables were nice. I really enjoyed just looking around at the various paintings along the walls. Our specific table for two had chairs facing the same direction at the table, meaning we sat next to each other instead of across. That felt very French terrace dining-esque. I actually enjoyed it for the ease of conversation. Our server was very nice and we overall had a great time!

Yelp
Went with my mom for my birthday and had a wonderful time. I've been to a number of restaurants in this space over the years and I'm always interested in seeing how they make it less, I don't know, circle-y. The interior here is broken up into cozy rooms. It's intimate, it's lovely. I believe we both started with a Deb's Darling cocktail. It's so fruity, effervescent, and just sweet enough, kind of a preview of spring in the winter. They brought a lovely, warm baguette to the table for us. The crust shattered at our touch, just as it should, while inside, it was light, just wonderful! We started with some PEI oysters and the Burgundy snails. Both wonderful. Oysters are hard for me to resist! The snails could make a nice meal for someone dining alone, served on a luxurious bed of creamy whipped potatoes. For mains, the monkfish was a non-negotiable, and it truly delivered. Can we get rid of this "poor man's lobster" reputation? Le Tour proves this fish can stand--swim?--on its own. Served on a creamy bed of lentils, this dish was a stunner. It was gnaw-the-bone good. Our other main dish was the lamb couscous. I really wanted to explore the Moroccan influence on the menu. I thought it was unusual, and was excited to try this dish. It was really delicious. The final touch was, for my birthday, the server brought out a sparkler and little sips of champagne. I'd had such a nice day, and that was just so sweet. The small gesture of it really made the night. Thanks so much, Le Tour!

Yelp
Great place for a foodie happy hour! The duck pate and G&Ts were phenomenal and service was excellent. Definitely bookmarking this place.

Yelp
This place! Beautiful decor with friendly and knowledgeable staff. I've been here for brunch and this weekend we went for dinner. The cocktails were delicious and the food was AMAZING! Amy Morton outdid herself with this one!

Barry S.

Yelp
I'm glad we gave this a second chance. The food and service are getting better. We'll try again in a month or two. Hopefully, the improved trend continues. I'm hoping this will become a regular as the location and ambiance continues to be fantastic, especially on a nice evening when you can sit outside. The oysters were fresh and delicious. The Sangria was perfect. I enjoyed my Salad Nicoise and my wife said her Salmon was "better than last time."

Mary Ann C.

Yelp
Here to celebrate my best friends birthday. Amazing decor and the service staff and of course food are impressive. It's difficult to create a dining experience that manages to check all the boxes and Le Tour does it with style and grace. The lighting is perfect and the arrangement of tables is done so as to maintain a sense of balance . The food is not only impressive and delicious but visually appealing! I've posted our meal experience of Duck liver mousse appetizer, which was so rich and satisfying, followed by the Moroccan Tagine of Chicken, and Lamb Couscous. The chicken was moist and flavorful I believe it was equivalent to 1/2 chicken. The lamb was so tender and the couscous was the best I've ever had! Dessert was caramelized apple tart cake which is moist and light and the Crisp Meringue Pavlova was to die for ( who would think lemon crème chocolate caramel sauce would create such a refreshing decadent flavor! I will definitely come back to experience the rest of their amazing menu. Thank you for adding a much needed upscale dining experience to Evanston! C 'est Magnifique!

Yelp
Easily one of my top 5 favorite restaurants of all time. Tried it for the first time tonight. Beautiful space, peaceful patio, delicious food and great service. Our server was Ben.. I had chicken paillard.. absolutely delicious, my boyfriend had a burger and said it's the best he's ever had. Chicken was so moist and flavorful. They easily accommodated my gluten allergy. Great job! We will be back! Great spot for date night, special occasion or meal with girlfriends.

Ellie G.

Yelp
Looks very cool on the outside! My husband told me it used to be a Lyfe Kitchen. We were so hungry when we got in because we had been saving our stomachs all day for date night! We got the cheeseburger which tasted like French onion soup in burger form, and we also got the Tagine of chicken - delicious! For apps we got the Camembert (INCREDIBLE) and the lyonnaise salad. For dessert we got the meringue - also amazing. There are so many good options on the menu, it was hard to pick. It's very cool because they have French options, Moroccan options, and then fusions of the two. Definitely check it out, you won't be disappointed!

Regina P.

Yelp
As many other reviews mention, service is on the slower side. I was in good company, and not in a rush, but with no appetizer, main course and dessert our meal took 2.5 hours. Part of that was due to our chatter but most of it was due to the sluggish service. The food was fine, although I would have expected much more out of the French fries of a "French" restaurant, particularly when they are served with their signature Steak Frites dish. They reminded me of dried out McDonald's fries. Also, maybe serve them with some aioli? I got perhaps a teaspoon of ketchup. The cocktail and dessert were lovely. Additionally, some sort of green veggie as a side would be great to consider - carrots and two types of potatoes are all they currently offer. I won't be rushing back but might give them another try if I was in the area. I know business must be suffering due to construction in the area.

Betsy W.

Yelp
Mary was my server at a delightful dinner at LeTour tonight, and it reminded me of the last time I ate at LeTour's predecessor, Found, when Mary was also my server. I was on a first date with a guy from the apps. He rather loudly told Mary that it was our first date. When I later went to the bathroom, Mary made a point of approaching me to ask if the date was going ok and to make sure I felt comfortable. It was amazingly caring. Everyone on a first date should have someone like Mary watching out for them. Oh, and the food, service, and ambience was fantastic. A perfect place for a birthday dinner for my friend.

Yelp
Discovered LeTour by accident on OpenTable as I was looking for a place to have dinner with the cuz and cuzzette of The Doctor's, who live in Evanston. What an absolute lovely and amazing surprise! The restaurant has only been open for a short time, but I wou9ld say for the most part, they are most definitely on the right track to becoming a successful establishment. The restaurant is housed in the old Bank One Bldg, so the dining experience is in a round building with multiple room, giving a feel of being open and intimate at the same time. The décor is very whimsical, with a cherry blossom tree in the middle of the main room. There is a lovely mirror display as you walk in and the bar looks inviting. The waitstaff was amazing, with impeccable service. Upon arrival, we were seated at a table next to the kitchen and my cuzette was not having it. We asked for another table and were told that it would be 30 minutes to get one. Our server, Anna I believe (lovely red hair) brought us over complimentary samples of a lovely sparkling rose, which I got with dinner. She was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. But before we could place a order, a lovely gentleman came over, apologized and promptly told us that there would be another table ready for us, which it was within minutes. It was not in Anna's section, but our next server (Natalie) was just as nice. The menu does not disappoint and offers something for everyone. The menu is French-Moroccan. Natalie explained to us that "Chef" likes for people to order all of their savory dishes at one time and that they would be plated accordingly. We started out with a large loaf of warm bread with grainy mustard and butter. Bread was hot and delis. Next we had the Burgundy Snails (whipped potatoes, bacon, and persillade) and the Duck Liver Mousse (Medjool date jam, toasted country bread). These two dishes alone will get me back to this joint, they were amazing! The blending of mashed potatoes, bacon, and persillade was sublime! Never in my wildest dreams had I have thought of mixing those together but my soul left my body when I ate that dish! The mousse with the date jam was also amazing. Side note, this dish is deceiving in terms of how it is plated. When it first came out, we thought it was just a plate of bread and jam and were looking for the mousse, but Chef Debbie used the delicious mousse as a decorative swirl on the plate. What we thought was a pretty plate was actually the mousse spread across te plate with the bread and jam. Dinner consisted of Paillard of Chicken (Tomato confit, old fashioned mustard sauce, oven roasted broccoli, polenta), LeTour Smashburger (Double smash burger, raclette cheese, crispy onions), Brothy Banger Mussels (Spicy, red harissa broth with white wine-butter) and Tagine of Chicken (Braised chicken, green olives, apricot, preserved lemon, couscous)....there were no doggy bags. Yeah so sue me, I got a burger at a French-Moroccan restaurant and I don't apologize as it was that good. Having it just gives me an excuse to go back to try additional dishes. No dessert as we were stuffed and honestly I don't see myself doing dessert as there are too many savory delights to try. Only issue was that our entrees seemed to take a little time to come out, but this was not a deal breaker for me. I am making the assumption that since this is a new place, they are still working out the kinks, but what came out was great. This was a very nice evening and I am looking for my next visit for those snails and maybe the lamb dish.

I came here for an anniversary dinner and knew nothing about it beforehand. I quickly learned the owner is the daughter of the owner of Morton's steakhouse and has a very good track record. The menu is French and Moroccan inspired which was a nice change from a typical steakhouse. To start, we got a fresh baguette delivered to the table with butter and stone ground mustard. Who would've thought bread and mustard is delicious!! Everyone at the table loved it! My Deb's Darling cocktail was also very good and our waiter brought some Prosecco to the table when he found out we were celebrating an anniversary. For appetizers, I tried the goat cheese and burgundy snails. This was my first time trying snails and they were surprisingly delicious, tender, and garlicky. The goat cheese was tangy and rich. I was excited to try another food for the first time for my entree - skate wing aka stingray. Unfortunately, our food took forever to come out. The waiter even said it was coming out soon and it still took a very long time after that to come out. I would not recommend coming here for a quick meal. We saw several other tables being served while we waited. When the food finally came, I thoroughly enjoyed my skate wing. It was reminiscent of a white fish with a bit of a different texture. Everyone else at the table seemed to enjoy their food. The smash burger appeared to look pretty basic and the tagine of chicken came out in a very cool serving piece. On to dessert, this is where things started to go downhill. We were expecting top notch desserts based on how much we liked everything else we had eaten, but we were disappointed. The mille feuille was not as flaky as I'd expect and we didn't love the flavor of the vanilla cream. I was told the pavlova was too hard. Overall, I really enjoyed this dinner and think this restaurant is a great option for a special occasion. It is less than a month old and I'm sure they'll work out some of the kinks over time.

Yelp
We recently moved to Evanston and accidentally discovered LeTour. We were intrigued by the beautiful outdoor seating just to be surprised by even a more beautiful interior. The menu is quite diverse, the crispy octopus salad and the smash burger were delicious. I gave 4 stars not 5 because I had higher hopes for the veggie couscous. I'm middle eastern and such flavors and right up my ally, but the veggie couscous seasoning was overwhelming it needed something to balance the taste like potato or lemon squeeze I'm not sure, it was just overwhelming and needed to be toned way down. We had the vanilla Mille-feuille for dessert and it was so so good! Highly recommend. Otherwise, amazing service. The hosts and servers are very polite, nice and welcoming. We will be dining there again for sure.

Yelp
Had a fantastic dinner at LeTour last night. Gorgeous, artsy interior with a great vibe, super attentive service and fantastic food. Wanted to try everything on the menu! We were each delighted by the starters and entrees that we choose. Truly a five star experience. We had our globe trotting foodie friends up from the city and they loved it as did we. Will be back soon with more friends!

Yelp
Disappointing, especially the service. Table service was generally attentive, but products from the bar and kitchen took forever. 1 hour for first cocktail/wine, 2 hours for main course. Pretty space. Food was OK.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible service. Waitress forgot drinks and never asked us if everything was okay. Waited over an hour for our food and some of our dishes were undercooked. Manager did not seem to want to make things right after we expressed we were upset, he seemed very unbothered by the situation. Honestly would not come here again, the service is not worth it and employees couldn't care less

Yelp
What a lovely space and ambience! We were seated facing the street and the beautiful lighted trees presented a picturesque scene. Started out with a crusty and tasty baguette. It was quite hard to tear apart and may be better presented cut in rounds or strips in a basket. Loved the spicy mustard accompaniment! The Mezze plate features three selections of which I liked the beet hummus the best. The tahini yogurt was quite bland until I added a touch of the mustard and that addition worked perfectly. The monkfish steak with lentils was scrumptious! My wife enjoyed the steak frites, perfectly cooked to order. Our waitress was excellent as was the host. All in all, we really enjoyed our evening at Le Tour!

Yelp
Here for my birthday - the service is unbelievably bad. I know other reviewers said this too but wow. No host for 15 minutes, no waiter/waitress for another 15 - had to ask for one. Hostess didn't have enough menus to give us - not a joke. Slow on food. Super slow on drinks. Wild how understaffed this place is - I'd shut down until I can hire. The food is good but there's no way me or my guests would return.

Yelp
How dare you? Duck liver mousse? I've never actually consumed fancy feast but after ingesting this supposed food I wish I had just gone to the pet store and enjoyed a finer meal. Service was good. Bread was excellent. Mousse was nightmarish at best.

Yelp
There simply isn't anything Amy and Debbie cannot do. Congrats to two powerhouse ladies for launching another tremendous spot. LeTour gives a new, funky spin on French cuisine, with a Moroccan-inspired flare. The ambiance is incredible, with each section of the restaurant providing a unique dining vibe. We sat in the lounge area near the bar the first time, and the the Warhol-inspired dining area the second time. The service is tremendous - waitresses and waiters knowledgeable about the nuances of every dish/drink and able to provide sound recommendations for pairings. Dylan in particular was fantastic - young, confident, kind and patient, not to mention, cool as a cucumber during opening week. In my opinion, service can make or break a meal, and can take a dining experience from great to exceptional. Now, pardon my LACK of French as I am going to butcher the names of dishes. The cheese wheel - 5/5. To die for. Definitely large for 2 people to share, probably enough for 4+ to split honestly. Unreal flavors with the mushrooms, the jus and the Brie. I personally can get overwhelmed with cheesy dishes, but this was the PERFECT balance of flavor and did not sit heavily in my belly like some dairy dishes can. Imagine that, a half of a wheel of cheese consumed and already ready for more! *chefs kiss* Lamb couscous - 4/5. The lamb was melt-in-your-mouth good. So tender and so juicy. Beautifully paired with cous cous, chickpeas, carrots and prunes (would've loved a couple more prunes). There was a unique sausage included in the dish as well which I thoroughly enjoyed. A LOT of meat for a dish, so come hungry if you're ordering the lamb. Also definitely pair with the African sauce that comes in the side, I felt it definitely needed that little extra pop of flavor. Tangine of Chicken - 5/5. In my opinion, the show stopper. Juicy chicken and tremendous flavoring. Loved the side of cous cous as well. Incredible presentation to go along with the dish. Truly made you feel like you were at a traditional Moroccan restaurant. Gratin (potatoes side) - 5/5. Wow. Baked in a cast iron, these potatoes had the most wonderful crisp to them. Layered in a light cheesy (?) goodness, my boyfriend and I were fighting over every bite. A perfect side. Escargot - 4/5. Great flavors all mashed in with the potatoes. Certainly worth a try if you're not sure if you like snails! Enough for a table of 4. Carrots - 5/5. Locally sourced, cooked beautifully and complemented the dishes to a T. Generous serving size for a side! The crazy horse - 5/5. If you love Mezcal, you will LOVE this smoke-forward drink. Huge fan! Old fashioned - 5/5. A classic, that Le Tour does exceptionally well. All in all, Le Tour offers such a magical dining experience. The food is unique and serves up new tastes and smells to explore, which cities like Chicago/Evanston NEED. Come with an open mind and an empty belly and prepare to be wowed. I can't wait to continue exploring the phenomenal menu that the LeTour team has pulled together! Cheers! -MC

Yelp
Tonight was the third or fourth time I've been there. This place is a 10 in every regard! Went for my partners birthday today and it was fantastic! Great Server! Great food! Great music! They played Happy Birthday on violin and acoustic guitar! Even the girl bussing our table was great! The bill was about $50 less than I was expecting. Left me room for a great tip that was well reserved! We'll be back. Thanks. Jeff

Yelp
Overall really enjoyed LeTour but with some important quibbles. Prices are hit-or-miss; definitely on the higher side, but we assembled a meal of shared items for a respectable price. $6 per oyster, however? Would have loved a few but not at that price. Our baked Brie appetizer was delicious, as were the mussels - very large and plump and tasty. The "burnt cheesecake" dessert was less successful; not much flavor beyond the sweet fruit topping and the burnt bottom. The space is nice but maybe isn't a perfect match for the bistro-style food, especially for the tables to the right as you walk in. Feels a little like the restaurant isn't sure how hard to lean into the French thing - my suggestion is to maybe do so a little less (not sure the name helps here), as French food comes with an association with rich, buttery food that doesn't have broad appeal any more. Despite the quibbles, service was great and atmosphere is relaxed and upscale and the intercontinental menu is interesting enough to want to be back.

Yelp
Ordered a steak and fries. Leah was very friendly and attentive. Will go back in a second.

Yelp
Mary was an excellent waitress! A great experience all around. Love the ambience, creative drink menu, fantastic food. Will definitely be back. Thanks Mary!!!

Yelp
The vegetarian main course was quite bland. Less than expected dose. Many mushrooms are a vegetarian main course. Good vibes though.

Yelp
We will not be coming back. The ambiance was nice but the food was borderline inedible. The monkfish had zero flavor and was an over cooked brick. We ordered about 8 appetizers and they were very small and most were way too salty. The bread served with most of the appetizers was also impossible to rip and eat, it was cold and hard. They were not willing to make many substitutions (based on allergies) and made us feel bad for asking and everything was overall not impressive. Also, as an unrelated side note, the restrooms have low hanging plants in the stalls and over the hand dryers so beware of your head, it was very weird.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that I would go back, it just wouldn't be my first choice. The food was good but not great (the onions in my salad when I asked for no onions wasn't great). The ambiance was nice, service was a tad slow but fine, and the outdoor seating area was lovely. I would give it 3.5 stars.

Yelp
I was at Le Tour last night, big letdown. Some dishes were flat, others used too much of strong herbs/spices which overpowered the dish, and opportunities for really wonderfully flavored dishes squandered. The Tangine Chicken offered so much promise for an exciting dish and it didn't come through. The preserved lemons, apricot, olives were basically add-ons and didn't contribute to the overall flavor (they should have, squandered opportunity). The Mussels? Six were closed, meaning they're bad, not to be eaten. Why they were included in the dish brought to my table is a mystery. If that's not enough, the bowl of mussels also included an open mussel with a broken shell; there were bits and pieces of this broken shell in the broth which I had to remove from my mouth. Again, why a mussel with a broken shell made it into the bowl brought to my table is a mystery. Further, why the mussel broth included pieces of a broken shell is a mystery. The menu said the broth of the mussel dish was spicy but too much of that hot spice was used so it overpowered the broth. The leads to the Mezza Platter. The Lebneh Chermoula had so much coriander(?) it overpowered all other flavors of the Lebneh; same for the Tahini Yogurt, we couldn't taste the yogurt, and we only knew the Beet Hummus had Beets in it because the menu said so and the color of it, reddish/pinkish; there was absolutely no beet flavor in the hummus. The best thing about the Mezza Platter was the Khobz bread, absolutely delicious but even that was a let down, because it would have been even better served warm. Despite that, the Khobz bread was the best thing we ate the entire evening. Le Tour didn't live up to the promise. Big letdown and disappointment.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and service, good food. When you leave though there are bums around, so you gotta catch your cab quickly.

Yelp
Beautiful decor and who doesn't love a swivel chair? Great G and T. Happy Hour menu looks nice. Food was fine. One blunder made the experience less than optimal. My party of three ordered several starters and were told by the waiter that it is preferred that we order starters and mains at the same time and that "we will course them out." That's a great idea in theory--as long as the waiter keeps an eye on the table and lets the kitchen know the pace of the table--unfortunately, in practice doesn't always work well. Such was the case tonight. We ordered 4 apps--the burgundy snails (the base of whipped potatoes were very good and according to one of my friends--may even have been better than the snails themselves), the tarama-salata (delicious and served with great bread) the Caesar salad (dressed with a non-creamy dressing--light and refreshing), and the sea bass crudo (meh). The LeTour G and T was fantastic--I omitted the pink peppercorns. It was really good. We were still nibbling on our starters when a server (not the one who had taken our order) appeared with two of our main dishes. The table was full of dishes--because we were still eating our starters! So much for coursing it out! Note to self: I will NEVER fall for that line again. We told her we weren't ready yet and she took them away. This also means that our waiter hadn't been keeping an eye on our table to see if we were done with our starters or to alert the kitchen to slow things down--but also that no one had checked to see if the table had been cleared before the main courses were to be delivered. Completely unacceptable. We finished our starters and the table was cleared and immediately our main courses were delivered. We had the monkfish (accompanying lentils were good but not hot) and the skate wings--both good--as well as the steak frites--steak was really tasty, fries were not hot. We also had the roasted carrots which were very good. Not a great first impression. Food good, not great. Nothing was especially memorable except the "coursing out" blunder. Maybe I needed a second LeTour G and T....... I wanted to really like this place so would consider giving it one more chance. However, next time, I will do the coursing out! :-)

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in Evanston. From the creators of Found. Unfortunately, it is not as good as Found was. The easiest thing they could fix: the cocktail menu. The only spirit forward cocktail on it is an Old Fashioned. Usually a place like this would be a bit more creative. I still go here, because it is one of the best around, but I hope they do something about the cocktail menu. (The food menu is also not as good, in my opinion, as Found, but oh well.)
