LFM - Local Foods Market is a laid back place to get wines, pantry goods, and quick bites. I went here to stock up on my Mama Teav’s Hot Garlic sauce. They have a lot of unique wines, spreads, dressings, and more! The popular Graza Olive Oil ($13) seen all over Instagram food blogger pages and internet recipes is sold here, and it is reasonably priced and more affordable than HEB ($19)! They also have local goods here, such as chocolates from Mostly Chocolate, a Houston confectionery and chocolatier. Definitely stock up on your olive oil and other pantry goods here. We also had their chocolate chip cookie; it was not too overly sweet, which I personally like, and had mini chocolate chips. The staff were super friendly and parking was not too bad. Overall, I really liked the different snack and condiment selections; they had a lot of cool things to try for recipes at home.

Very neat place with food, coffee and market area for shopping. You order at the counter, take a number and go sit down. Food was good, seem they have some seasonal items on the menu, but lots of options for lunch and breakfast.

Good fresh food. Good soup - made fresh daily. I liked the atmosphere of the place. It’s not super fancy - but I give 5 stars for the freshness and healthy choices.

This place has the vibes. Real plants everywhere, and they're healthy. The place is clean with a great aesthetic. Mid-century modern with some industrial accents. Food was also top knotch. Highly recommend the truffle egg sandwich. A bit pricey, but the quality is worth it.

We tried the chicken posole soup and a taco salad. The posole soup was good, the taco salad was average, I didn't realize it doesn't come with a protein none of the options available are ground beef. Average experience. Watch out for the salt and pepper grinders, remove the bottom cap before grinding.

My brother took me here on Thursday and everything was so fresh and delicious. The service was amazing, every person had a smile on and the little store had amazing candles and spices. I ate the egg salad sandwich with homemade chips and my brother had the vegan bun mi with the butternutsquash soup. YUM! Definitely would go again and highly recommend this restaurant.

A well designed and integrated dine and shop concept. Super friendly staff guiding me all the way from store design to food ordering. A petite wine shop on the second floor, with lots of good bottles. Enjoy the outdoor patio, with natural breeze and contemporary fans. A great place for hanging out with friends or to escape for a peaceful lunch.

Nice addition/expansion to The Local Foods next door. LFM offers the same great menu as next door with many items to browse, purchase and take home plus a well stocked bottle shop upstairs. It's like a mini Phoenicia. Impressed. Enjoy.

As someone who has walked through Rice Village many times, I'm surprised I haven't come across this place earlier. The Local Foods Market finds a way to hit a lot of the attractive qualities of a health conscious restaurant (locally sourced ingredients, tasty food, aesthetically pleasing building design, adequate parking/walking accessibility) without sacrificing affordability and portion size. Chicken Shawarma Bowl: this is nothing like your local gyro restaurant. Its ingredients have been modified into a healthier theme, and comparing it to authentic chicken shawarma would be apples to oranges. Nevertheless, the dill yogurt and feta made the chicken very tasty. It also made the greens easy to eat. My favorite part of this dish was the brussels sprouts; crispy, well-seasoned, and felt like a cheat code for fiber. Crunchy chicken sandwich - this was my friend's order and I only took one bite but man, I'm ordering this next time! I shied away because I had a fried chicken sandwich the day before, but the reason this sandwich is named "crunchy" is due to the pretzel bun, not the chicken. The buttermilk ranch is to die for, leaving a savory aftertaste afterwards. If the weather permits it, I recommend sitting outside. The indoor seating is pretty too, but doesn't capture the urbanistic Midtown vibe as well as outdoors. Service is over the counter and you pick up the food yourself when it's ready. Support your local growers and give this place a try!

This Local Foods location is one of my first recommendations for lunch in Houston. It has a great, free parking lot. It has great restaurant food and a unique food market. My favorites are crunchy chicken sandwich or gulf coast sandwich. I also love trying their seasonal grilled fish and other chef's specialties. They accommodate all sorts of dietary restrictions and pride themselves in using high quality, local ingredients.

We came to this great store/restaurant after some medical appointments with my mother. Looked good on Internet and lots of great reviews! Unique menu items and friendly and helpful staff! Shout out to Raul at the cash register for making great suggestions for lunch. Will return and bring friends!

Fresh food prepared with locally sourced ingredients, and so many healthy options on the menu! The menu is vegetarian friendly with a variety of salads and sandwiches with several sides. My veggie sandwich with brussel sprouts, avocado hummus and greens was delicious and quinoa squash soup was perfectly comforting for a rainy day in Houston. Staff is friendly and service is quick. You can eat in the market area or a nicer dining area with spacious seating in the adjacent room.

Always a good time when we go, all the food always feels so cozy and homemade. The service was welcoming as well

I usually dine in but ordered to go via Door Dash this time. The order was completed pretty quickly. I got the Gulf Seafood sandwich with kale salad and potato salad as my sides. The sandwich was very fresh and filling as always. I love the flavors so much. The sides are good portions.

Vibe- Like the name says, they use ingredients from all over Texas! There's plenty of seating inside and outside too. There's also a shop right next door where you can shop some local products. Very chill vibes! Customer service- Great! Food/drinks- I got a refreshing seasonal sangria, cashew queso, and a quinoa burger (didn't like it that much but the chips were great :( ) Parking- There's plenty in the lot. *I'll go up to 5 stars once I find a vegan meal I like!

INCREDIBLE FOOD! Pricey, but well worth it. The whole place is very cute, and you can pop into the market after eating. The egg salad sandwich was incredible, and the pickles had a slightly curried taste and were great.

This is a cute little market next door / connected to Local Foods with some nice, gift-y food items plus unique pantry staples. It is always fun to browse this section when eating here. Plus, if you are looking for a quieter meal at LF, there are a few secluded tables in this section with a much more chill vibe - maybe this is the place to study/work over your meal vs the still nice but more bustly section next door.

This place is amazing! Everything I've ever ordered or anything anyone I've ever been with ever ordered has been amazing. This time our group ordered cashew queso, whipped goat cheese, taco salad, quinoa burger (the mustard was really spicy) lions mane sandwich (house made pickles were incredible), a couple desserts (3 carrot cupcakes, and something else that disappeared before I could take a picture) another cashew queso (everyone loved it so much a family law was passed to require two cashew quesos for all future), and a couple drinks. Oh, we also ended up ordering another carrot cake since someone (who I prefer to remain nameless) asked incredibly nicely and I don't like sleeping on the couch. Additionally, the service is always incredible which adds to the experience.

I totally dig this place, vibe check I initially found out about this place from following Eric Sandler on Instagram. Plenty of parking, former Benjy's, outside patio area. Go in to order, there is a left and right side, the left side has some local market items you can shop. They have some cool local stuff, like black beans, truffle salt, Asian items and chips, specialty chocolates, just to name a few. You gotta check em out yourself. We ordered the veggie sushi roll, pretty good - flavors come together nicely. Simple salad with shrimp - optional to get chicken/ tofu I enjoyed my salad, the dressing compliments but no overbearing. Brussel sprouts - decent, I don't remember I was so hungry and ate the whole thing lol Plenty of seating and booths inside and out, healthy fun options and I definitely want to return... like tomorrow. See ya there!!

So I am staying in the downtown area for the next few days and randomly happened to try this place based on the good reviews and let me say this---- they are not lying. This sandwich is delicious. I ordered the Gulf Seafood Sandwich with Gulf Shrimp & Blue Crab, Tomato, Pickled Red Onion, Mixed Greens & Green Goddess Ranch on Ciabatta. Absolutely delicious!

I went on Thursday for lunch. I was hungry, but I needed something light as I had a wine dinner in the evening. I had the salmon poke bowl and it was so delicious! Creamy egg, avocado, yummy rice. It comes with a soy based dipping sauce. Can't wait to get it again. Their salmon is always so good. My friend had the crunchy chicken sandwich and devoured it. The ambiance is very casual.

The newly redesigned Local Foods Market in Rice Village is a great place to check out! They also have a large outdoor patio with booth seating and tables. They also sell goods as well! As for the menu, there are the familiar items that Local Foods has and there are also other menu items that are specialized to LFM. Here are a few of my favorites: the cashew queso is a must. I also recommend the avocado toast and adding salmon on top. The twice cooked French fries are perfectly crispy. The spinach dip is also highly recommended. Also, I believe this may be a brunch menu item, but the Turkey hash is very flavorful! There's ground Turkey, potatoes, two perfectly poached eggs and seasoned veggies. Service is counter service and they bring your food to you. There's a large parking lot and I haven't had any issues finding a spot since LFM is the only business there for now. However, I do find that the spots are really narrow. Overall great place to check out for brunch/lunch food!

Warning! Local Foods' French fries are addictive Their burger was juice my and cooked to perfection I love the light atmosphere of this location. It's so easy to leave feeling happy and refreshed. They have multiple patios that are great for working or visiting with friends. Will was a very friendly and helpful server on our Sunday afternoon visit.

Love the food. Healthy with options for vegans, Pescatarians and meat eaters! Will definitely be back

Pkasters! Yes. Yes. Yes. Me and my Royal Rib thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today. It will help to know what to expect before you arrive. Do some homework. The food was fresh and no seasoning needed. The price is a little up there but again the food was scrumptious. The atmosphere is fresh, and on a cooler day, I recommend the patio. Check them out and tell them Pk sent you. #Pkast

local foods market is a very vibey place! the decorations are cute and ambiance is perfect for a chill lunch/dinner. service was also extremely friendly. i ordered the garden sammie which was DELICIOUS. the two sides (broccoli-quinoa salad & autumn's bounty) were packed with veggies and very yummy. i will definitely be coming back here!

I used to love Local Foods because the food was healthy, fresh and delicious. Unfortunately, in my opinion, it has really gone downhill. I loved the Power Bowl but began to notice less and less veggies over the past 6 months. I ordered it with just veggies and ended up with a tiny bowl of soupy vegetables for $20. I know Local Foods can do better

You probably don't need my review to tell you this is a great spot for grub in Houston. I ordered ahead in the car as we were on our way to the museum. We swung by and picked up two chicken sandwiches & two drinks. A little confusion on my part as there was only one drink sitting on the counter. The other one was a bottled drink tucked away inside. So we asked for our "second drink," which the lady kindly provided us. When we realized our mistake, she told us to just keep the extra drink. That kind of, "we're not mad at you for your dumb mistake" reaction makes you soooo happy as a faulty customer. But the food itself was excellent. We highly recommend the Crunchy Chicken Sandwich. It's was huge! We both could have just shared one. But I'm happy to have leftovers. Oh! Also! The potato salad side was phenomenal. You know that mystardy, mayonnaisey potato salad stuff that you hate? It's not that. It's something reeeally freaking good. But I can't identify the ingredients. Damn it. Also, the blackberry green tea was great, with three Splendas mixed in. I'm so happy it was sugar-free as we try to avoid added sugars. (We should've just ordered two of those to begin with. Sorry guys.) Delicious!

Food was so fresh. I had ordered the crunchy chicken sandwich and it was so good! They also have healthy foods and snacks like of like a little grocery store. I am kinda sad that their to-go containers were plastic :/ but over all very good experience

This was the BEST lunch I have had in the longest time!!! Delicious 50/50 burger (I left out the wagu) and amazing fresh kale salad! I will be back for sure!!!

This place was a first for me today and it was absolutely wonderful the salmon was so delicious the staff was all friendly and happy to be there and didn't look upset all of the staff including buss boy was very pleasant and happy to be there I never been somewhere were staff was like that. Please support places like this in Houston I never leave reviews but food and workers were just beyond excellent will be coming back here in the future

I ended up going here on accident, and am very glad I did! The service was great, everyone is very nice and helpful. The decor is welcoming and warm. I got the half chicken with a side of curry cauliflower and bone broth and everything was absolutely delicious. The curry cauliflower is to die for! Will be coming back.

This place is so so good! Our first time trying here but we were excited bc we love local foods. The customer service is 10/10 everyone was so attentive and got asked multiple times if we were doing alright. Food was great, we both loved our meals and it was nice to try something different than our usuals from next door. My 1/2 chicken was huge and so juicy and tender. Loved the curry cauliflower and the kale salad is always a great classic. Boyfriend enjoyed the bang mi w the fries! Portion size was awesome and well worth the price. They will be expanding soon and will have one cohesive menu with local foods next door which we can't wait to try. We will definitely be returning!

The food was delicious, the drink refreshing, but the service (!), that was on-point! It's not the kind of restaurant with table service. You walk up, place your order, get a number, serve your own drinks, and when your food is ready someone drops off your food. Timmy, the blonde haired, blue eyed gent behind the counter was the sweetest thing! Not only did he treat us to dessert because we were first time customers but he also came to check in on us throughout the meal and dropped off to-go cups without any prompting. He really made our experience stand-out! Whomever reads this, please make sure to tell him how amazing he is. He is making your customers' day!

My wife and I are in town with our little one for business. Needed a healthier option after a few meals of bbq and Tex mex. LFM was the cure!! Huge portions for their harvest salad with a variety of fresh veggies that made me come back for more 2 days later. The market style restaurant was clean and has a bit of a coffee shop ambience. Service was 5* before I was on hold for 10 minutes to place a to go order and then they forgot my add chicken request to my salad despite receipt saying it.

Delicious food and great atmosphere! I highly recommend this place for lunch and dinner for any occasion.

This place is close to where we live so we go there very often for drinks and snacks. Today we went back after a while as they have opened their patio and we were catching up with a couple of friends. Their patio is nice and relaxing with plenty of space, which in my opinion makes it more attractive than many other patios in the Rice Village. Another happy surprise of the day was the new burger item they added to their menu. It was definitely among the tastiest burgers I have had in Houston while being low fat. If you'd like to sit somewhere nice, have a few drinks, snacks and light meal, this place is one of the best.

I eat here quite a bit lately, so I must like it. Nice to have so many vegetable-forward options. They do fun things with mushrooms. Wish the superfood bowl tomatoes didn't have so much vinegar. And the togo sides could be bigger. Also would love if the daily specials were available on DoorDash (via the DD app). But those are my only notes right now.

i love this place. I went for the first time today. Love the atmosphere and items for sale. It was beautiful fall day and my lunch date and I sat outside. Orders are placed and paid for at the counter. Then a waiter brings the order to the table. I had the BLT with egg and avocado. My sides were kale salad and brocolli with quinoa, oh my! It was all delicious and very fresh. The waiters were friendly and really took care of our needs. It was a self-pour beverage bar, but a waiter was going around refilling glasses with their drink choices.. He even brought us two additional glasses of ice. I definite return for me to try other dishes such as the chicken and kale salad that my friend enjoyed.

Sat down with a family of 7 outside (away from other people due to COVID) and moved a 2-person table 2 feet so we could sit at a 5-person table. Waiter passive aggressive told us to move it back. We left. Overpriced food anyway.

We loved this restaurant. The menu (especially the sides and beverages) had a fantastic variety. The music/ambience was great, they sell lots of specialty items on racks by the windows. I grabbed a beer from an ice bucket during our short wait in line. Parking was easy and our meal was amazing! We got the chicken sandwiches (they came out warm with a delicious pretzel bun) and shared sides. We're definitely coming back!

My sister, my friend and I stopped by here after a long day at the Houston Zoo. The vibe of this place is great! The wait staff was friendly and the food was delicious. My sister and I split an Avocado BLT and were both full afterwards!

Absolutely AMAZING food. We had smoked salmon, fresh fries and some great pink lemonade. The customer service is immaculate, we were given a free discount by the manager and some free entrées to test out! 100% recommend!

My family has been coming here for years prior to pandemic. We were pleased that they re-tooled for take-out and we were regular customers. Since then, they have re-vamped this location and it's better than ever. Great place to hang out and always a treat to get some dinner and a nice glass of wine. The staff here are great, especially Fatima.

When I stop here for lunch I do not get the opportunity to take in the ambiance at this location. Yesterday, it was awesome! The vegan option was super amazing, the quinoa burger was great and full of flavor. It was just what I was looking forward to for lunch. The service was superior and kept our energy going for the remainder of the day. I highly recommend this location for lunch.
