L'Hôtel Particulier Bordeaux (Bordeaux, Nouvelle Aquitaine) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The 19th-century townhouse that inspired L’Hôtel Particulier’s name is just about as centrally located as it gets — stick your head out the front door and that’s Bordeaux Cathedral at the end of the road on your left. The scale is small, just three rooms, two suites, and four apartments, all of them in a hybrid style that marries historical romance with contemporary energy; the original bedrooms, with their parquet floors, moldings, and marble fireplaces, perhaps most romantic of all. There’s a pleasant courtyard, and breakfast is served in the well-preserved period dining room, and for the rest of the day the entirety of Bordeaux awaits." - Tablet Hotels

L'Hotel Particulier Bordeaux | Best places to stay in Bordeaux

"Set in the medieval heart of the city, in a superb location near the Cathedral and Place de la Bourse, L’Hotel Particulier is an excellent base for first-time visitors. Once the townhouse of Bordeaux’s 19th-century Cardinal Donnet, this historic building now contains home five romantic,  high-ceilinged guest rooms, as well as a handful of more basic self-catering studios and family apartments, which are perfect for longer stays. Bathtubs, Nespresso machines and balconies add a touch of homey luxury to the rooms; and the charming, English-speaking owners prepare superb breakfasts. There’s a lovely inner courtyard too. Bordeaux’s main sights, shops, restaurants, bars and waterfront are all within walking distance. One of the city’s sleek new trams conveniently passes right in front of the door, but it’s so quiet few guests even notice. " - Dana Facaros

I was pleasantly surprised at this very charming hotel in Bordeaux. Very centrally located and my single room was great. Small kitchenette , bathroom , single bed etc. the front door has a small private sort of terrace, I saw an ashtray on the table so :) there was a huge lively French window into the quiet courtyard which is set back from the street . I would highly recommend this for your stay in Bourdeaux !

Fantastic hidden hotel. Room was massive! Very comfortable, very nice welcome amenities. Location was great for needs - close to transit, close to the main square, close to the cathedral. ||Front desk was very helpful in helping us navigate to Saint-Emilion by train - very easy to do with streetcar/regional train.

Very nice hotel. I love the room I stayed in. It was very nice. The women at reception were exceptional and helpful. The only complaint I have is the breakfast. It is 20 euro but I don't think it's worth it. There was very little food. A croissant, some bread, yogurt, and fruits. Also, no one was there really to great or help you. The women there were in the back talking the whole time. If you want good breakfast, go to sip coffee down the street. It's less than 20 euros and better food

The hotel rooms are contained within an old building originally owned by wine merchants.|After parking our car nearby, we presented our ticket and received a 50% discount. The room was at the top of a flight of stairs, equipped with double glazing, a small kitchenette and bathroom with a shower. |We really enjoyed the spacious nature of this room and the sense of history within the walls.|The mattress was a little uncomfortable and the hotel owners had forgotten to provide knives, forks and a separate cutting knife. In addition, the shower drained away very, very slowly which made the experience quite unpleasant for the second person to take one!|Reception were delightful all round. We would consider returning, despite these issues. |A lovely, atmospheric stay.

We had the most amazing few days in Bordeaux and was capped off by the wonderfully amazing hotel just a few minutes walk from everything ! Our room was amazingly comfortable, decor was tasteful and loads of space as it was a small apartment with the complex ! The staff were amazing , the breakfast was such a joy set in a beautiful drawing room on an upper floor ! Overall it was 10/10 and we personally met the owner who made us feel extra special .. Safe , comfortable and perfectly located .. can’t ask for anything else..

We had two nights in Bordeaux and this hotel was perfect for our needs. Ideal location, and great staff who were both very knowledgeable and helpful. We felt very safe and secure for our stay. The room was well appointed and spacious. We did not need to use the cooking facilities but everything was there should we have needed to. This was my second stay, if you are looking for an authentic French experience in the heart of Bordeaux, that is very good value for money, this is the place for you.

The young lady at reception was very nice to us and gave us her recommendations to site seeing and dinner. Hotel room is very spacious, hotel's location couldn't be better at half block from Cathedral. Very clean with fridge, french press coffee at your own room. Comfortable bed and spacious bathroom.

There is no other word to describe this hotel than a fraud. This hotel allowed us to stay in a room with no heat on a night where the temperature was below freezing. They knew the heat wasn't working, lied to us at first, and finally admitted it would be days before it would be fixed. At first we were told it just took time to warm up. Finally, the night clerk admitted the heat was broken. But that was at 10:30 at night when we returned from dinner and had no other option than to stay. The worst thing is that it is now 8 days after we checked out and the general manager has not made contact with us. I hope she is embarrassed.
