Lia’s Lumpia Opens in Barrio Logan With Filipino Street Food | Eater San Diego

"Launching a storefront in Barrio Logan on National Avenue this Thursday, Lia’s Lumpias — the local Filipino food truck — opens with mostly takeout-focused hours (initially Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.) while chef Spencer Hunter remodels the property's main cottage into a modern Filipino restaurant called Milagros. Customers can access some seating on the front patio as Hunter transforms the backyard into a permanent home for the street-food spot. The fast-casual menu offers classic lumpia alongside fusion versions filled with chicken adobo, mac n cheese, vegan curry, and pork belly ramen; a Filipino-style smashburger with kalamansi mayo, fries, and banana ketchup; pork belly sisig tacos; vegetable pancit; a variety of chicken wings; and desserts like banana and jackfruit turon and mini malasadas with ube drizzle." - Candice Woo

Filipino Food Truck Lia’s Lumpia Opening Modern Filipino Restaurant in Barrio Logan | Eater San Diego

"A homegrown food truck known for its creative takes on lumpia has found a permanent spot in Barrio Logan on Logan Avenue, where it will open a takeout shop and share a converted cottage and patio. Founded by local chef Spencer Hunter after launching as a pop-up, it evolved into a food truck and made it all the way to the finale of The Great Food Truck Race: Holiday Hustle; the truck will wind down its busy schedule—regular stops include Snapdragon Stadium and local breweries—to pivot to the Barrio Logan storefront. The menu ranges from traditional lumpia to inventive versions stuffed with mac and cheese, pork belly ramen, vegan curry, and pizza toppings, along with casual dishes like calamansi chicken wings, chicken adobo tacos, and Filipino-style smashburgers. Lia’s will initially operate from a to-go window off the cottage’s porch while Hunter works on turning the backyard into a communal seating area with the kitchen running out of a food truck or a renovated shipping container." - Candice Woo

I honestly do not understand how this place won Best Filipino Cuisine from San Diego Mag - couldn’t be further from the truth. The food is mediocre and the service has been a huge disappointment every time I have tried giving them a chance. Spencer, the guy working there, always comes off negligent, never friendly and never apologetic. The operating hours are inaccurate. More than once we have shown up when they were supposed to be open only to find the doors closed. One time we even waited an entire hour for our food, and when we finally went back to the counter to ask for a refund, no one was there and they completely ghosted us. The local businesses in the Barrio Logan community said they often get customers that wonder why they’re closed when they’re supposed to be open and generally don’t have positive remarks. Instead of taking responsibility, the attitude toward customers feels hostile, as if it is our fault they are busy. Here is a thought: maybe hire more people if you cannot handle the demand. It is frustrating because I wish there was a truly good Filipino restaurant in this neighborhood, but this place has been nothing but a terrible experience for us personally.

Google
The desserts, drinks and food is really good and authentic Filipino food. Highly recommend this place if you are craving Filipino food. We ordered the Kapu Ube iced coffee, Kuya Arnold, pancit with pork belly, and the malasadas.

Google
The food was nothing special and cold. They were extremely unkind towards me and my husband compared to others in the restaurant (based off our looks if you know what I mean). They gave us cold lumpia that had been sitting out instead of making them fresh like they were for the people in front of and behind us. We had hair in our food as well. On top of that we are both now suffering with food poisoning. Overall awful experience and if it were possible to give a zero star review I would.

Google
We saw the owner Spencer at Fox 5 news. So, we went on opening day after 5 pm. The place was cozy. The owner was friendly and nice. We ordered for take out only. We ordered mac & cheese lumpia, chicken adobo tacos, turon and mini malasadas and they were all on point. Flavorful. We want to try some of their food from the menu next time.

Google
Amazing food and amazing service. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very knowledgeable staff member that told us about the menu and their extensive list of daily specials. We split the lumpias (of course) in veggie and pork and I had the fire chicken noodles (the chefs original recipe) while my husband ate one of the specialty pork plate. All the plates came with a side of Mac salad and veggies. Last, we split an ube cheesecake with coconut whipped cream. Everything was rich and flavor, freshly made, and authentic. Would absolutely recommend.

Google
Phenomenal lumpia - we were in town for my husband's international high school reunion (school is in Manila) and I just happened to notice this place on a side street in the Gaslamp. The group with me had all lived in Manila and they're fanatics about good lumpia. This place more than lived up to their standards - they were piping hot and the chili sauce was so good. Our server was delightful, attentive and funny and keeping everything under control with this rather rowdy group. If you like Philippine food, don't overlook this place!

Google
Heard about this place from co-workers and had to check it out myself. It was DELICIOUS! The adobo chicken tacos were by far my favorite but we also loved the Lola’s lumpias and spam lumpia. Great outdoor seating to enjoy the San Diego summer day. 100% will go back to try everything off their menu.

Google
Alrighty soooooo after a few visits but they were not open. And after a a tiny hiccup about getting the hours of operation clear. The owner let me know they have been short handed lately. He advised me that the hours of operation was changed online. And the time that is posted outside the restaurant are now 👍🏾 correct. It’s a super cute small yellow and green bungalow. Very colorful and cheerful. It is kind of a reminder of the unique and quaint restaurants in Key West. Now with saying that I hope you all will give this tasty neighborhood restaurant a try. This is what I got today: CALAMANSA COOLER .. (I’m positive I spelled that incorrectly 🫠)….. was ABSOLUTELY DELISH!! Definitely gives Starbee’s refreshers a run for the money. LUMPIA…. They are a large size, a crispy golden brown, with a moist flavorful meat filling. SUPER TASTY CHICKEN ADOBO LUMPIA… Chucks of chicken adobo with rice. It’s wrapped in a crunch lumpia wrapper. Fried to golden brown perfection. You get a large order enough for two. Having had chicken adobo numerous times in my family. I guess did expect a little bit more of a 🧄 garlicky tangy flavor explosion. But it is still very delish to say the least. Do yourself and your tastebuds a favor and go check out Lia’s Lumpia. You will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Yelp
QUICK TAKE// Cool little unique smaller menu Filipino quick eats...but it feels like you're in someone's home. FOOD// Got the LOLA'S LUMPIA PORK & MIXED VEGETABLES, the CALAMANSI WINGS and LONGANISA SCOTCH EGG. All were very solid, and I was especially impressed with the scotch egg. I would next time want to try one of their more interesting flavored egg rolls - but wanted my first time to just see how their standard tastes. SERVICE// very good! Answered all my questions I had about the menu and gave recommendations. VIBES// truly in someone's home . In that respect it was a very unique experience. The first thing you feel when you walk in is like you're entering into their living room complete with a TV and couch! ETC// Parking can be a little tough on busier nights since it's located on a main street with a ton of other restaurants.

Yelp
This place is lowkey a hidden gem! We found this place on a whim, searching nearby for a snack before we head to the zoo. It was the cutest place, it felt so homey and cozy, like Tito be grilling in the back typa way. Not actually, but it quite literally felt like that. This business is almost out of someone's home. It felt like we walked into their front yard and asked for a seat at the table. The calamansi chicken wings were SOOO good. It was juicy and tender, fell right off the bone. The turon was alright, nothing authentic by any means, but the ube glaze was a nice touch! Since we were there to get out of the sun a bit and grab a light snack, we didn't get anything else. I would love to come back and enjoy more and understand how all this came about! For us anxious girlies: you go in, order at the kiosk, they give you a buzzer, then you find any space to sit (literally anywhere!!!). There was so much seating, I was overwhelmed with options, but we sat right across from the speaker on the porch & honestly, I think that was the best spot! After though, we needed to use the bathroom and found out there was more seating in the back that was shaded! The bathroom was also so clean and it's so hard to find a bathroom in downtown SD so god bless. Honestly I would come back just to study here & I'm not even from SD!

Yelp
What a cool little spot. It's a hidden gem as the lumpia's are unique and the ambiance in the store brings me back to my Filipino childhood days. A very warm and inviting place to hang out. The restroom is super clean too. We tried Lola's lumpia, spam musubi lumpia, and the Turon. Lola's is the traditional lumpia, the kind you're used to finding at "Filipino parties". The spam musubi is unique and matches the name well. It's a bit salty but it's expected with spam. The Turon is what stood out. It's like a churro Turon! The lumia all came out hot and crispy. They were all cooked well and were not oily. Give this place a try if you're in the area.

Yelp
Cute restaurant that feels like eating at my lola's house. Very unique Filipino dishes. We loved them all, especially the calamansi chicken wings and the ube coffee ice cream! There was no wait when we ordered, which was perfect. Everything was so delicious that we wanted to order more, but the dinner rush came in. We ordered anyway and it was a long wait like they warned us, but definitely worth it. Hope to visit again soon.

Yelp
This place is cute. Feels like you are at somebody's home. The vibe is chill. Music in the background from the olden days were nice touch. Feels very homey. Service was prompt, without frills. Food actually has room for improvement. I have tasted much better lumpias around san diego.

Yelp
We had a hankering for lumpia so we decided to try this place because of its name. However, these lumpia were only OK. I'm not Filipino, but I've had a lot of Filipino food. These lumpia needed a bit of salt or MSG or something. We ordered the traditional pork, the vegan, the mac and cheese, and Argentinian. They were mostly very bland and needed a bit of salt. They arrived perfectly fried, but that didn't save the experience. The traditional pork ones were very spare on filling as were the Mac and cheese. The Argentinian and vegan ones were good size, but the flavors were underwhelming. The sweet chili dipping sauce that accompanied them overwhelmed the bland lumpias' flavors. I see through other reviews that people enjoyed the other dishes. If we come back we will order everything but the lumpia. The service was good and it took about 15-20 minutes to get the order. There are indoor and outdoor seating areas and the outdoor seating had plenty of shade for a sunny day. The ambience is very casual.

Yelp
I saw this place on one of my feeds and immediately made an effort to try Lia's. I grew up eating Filipino food in Stockton and was excited to try another location in San Diego since there are so few. I ordered; -Lola's lumpia -Chicken adobo over rice -Calamansi chicken wings sauce on side -Vegetables pancit -Garlic rice Overall the experience was pleasant enough. A few patrons waited outside while the owner was opening at 1pm. He's a one man show he said so all is forgiven on my end, being anxious to try his delicious food. After a pleasant conversation and other friendly patrons sitting around past the time talking about the very clean atmosphere and other San Diego experiences, the food arrived in the to go bag and off I went on my 20 minute drive back home. I wish I could have eaten there since the drive did not help the foods travel. The flavors of everything is very pleasant. The wings were a bit dry but fresh cooked well with a nice seasoning of pepper as promised. The rice... well, not so garlicky and a bit lacking in umpf! Of course I ate it but again the travel didn't do it any favors. The lumpia was as expected, cooked well, not greasy and very enjoyable with the sweet dipping sauce. Growing up in NorCal we typically used soy sauce and vinegar, but the sweet sauce was good. The adobo was not bad, I'm just used to more sauce or gravy depending on what part of the country you're in lol. It was on point for the most part in my opinion. I will definitely go back, eat it there and try other items next time. Among the other Filipino restaurants in San Diego I'd say he's in the top three of several. Nice job and I hope you don't get burned out from all your hard work. Please be patient with this young man as he's a one-man show putting in the work! I'm sure it's easy to judge someone one time but give him a try, it's worth the wait Mark

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for so long! It was definitely worth the wait and I can't recommend this place enough. The lumpia sizes were huge and I definitely got full from just the one serving. The chicken adobo lumpia was really flavorful and the sauce it comes with was a good mix. Each lumpia was stuffed full of chicken and rice. They have a really cute patio area, and despite how busy they were the day I went, they were still quite speedy about getting those plates out!

Nahomi S.

Yelp
My mom and I wanted had been craving lumpia's recently, and we stumbled upon Lia's Lumpia. The restaurant was so cute and nicely decorated, it gave a very homey vibe. We ordered the Carne Asada Fries Lumpia, and it was exactly what we expected and more! It was just so delicious. And the owner was so nice and made this new experience very welcoming! Def recommend!

Yelp
FTW!!! (5 stars) For The Wings. For The Win. - FOOD: delicious - SERVICE: excellent - PRICE: fair - AMBIANCE: reminds me of going to someone's house for a Filipino party I thought about lumpia but went for the wings and clearly that order did NOT disappoint. Reminder to self... shame on you for not ordering a side of rice. :: BITE AND SIPPY :: CALAMANSI PEPPER CHICKEN WINGS (6/$10) - traditional bone-in chicken wings, calamansi mayo, crispy garlic, and green onions. I like my chicken wings not saucy and more on the dry rub style. They were able to accommodate to my liking and moderated the amount of calamansi mayo. DAMN these wings were amazing AF. Crispness, taste, flavor executed well. Light crispness on the outside, juicy chicken wings, and a their take of the lemon pepper flavor. The calamansi mayo gave this a lemon/orange flavor and the finely shaved crispy garlic was the best garnish. Flavor on flavor. I have no idea why I didn't order a side of rice when asked if I wanted rice. For sakes, I go to Wingstop and order to-go so I can eat it with rice. Don't pass up on the rice. HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOUR SEASONS ($2) - canned drink from the PI. This flavor was very tropical. HIGHLY RECOMMEND I cannot wait to come back and eat this again + more. JABA APPROVED. Until the next bite...

Yelp
Lumpia with a twist. There is some crazy creative things going on here at Lia's Lumpia. I talked with co-owner and chef, Spencer. He is part Filipino and Black. Spencer wanted Filipino food to be recognized for more than just pancit and lumpia. Taking a traditional Filipino staple he added different fillings other than the regular ground pork you'd find at every Filipino party. He and his mom have perfected the frying and wrapping of their lumpia wrappers so no matter what you get, it is crisp and not greasy. What gets stuffed into those wrappers borders on ingenious to WTH how did you come up with that? Take for instance his signature Mac N Cheese lumpia. Yeah I said "huh" also. He explained it was his marriage of Filipino and Soul Food. It must be good because it sells out and I was unfortunate not to try any on this visit. He has literally several dozen different takes that he rotates. I did get to try the following: -traditional-nice savory filling -pork belly- my favorite -SPAM musubi-the rice comes out a little crispy so it loses a bit of the sense of a musubi but the flavors are good Too note, I had to take out which meant about 30 minutes to finally sit down to eat after pick up. The wrappers were still crisp which was pretty nice. This place is totally chill to hang out as well. It's got a sense of home with a lot of family pictures, comfy couches, a dining table, and even an arcade game. The music playing was old school like ZAPP which was my groove lol. I think the best way to enjoy Lia's Lumpia would be with family and friends who are looking for an easy night. Put in an order, I suggest not all at once because these things are hefty, along with some beers, chat the night away and order more as you go along. See if you can talk with Spencer and his mom as well! It will definitely make you feel like you're visiting family not just dining at a restaurant.

Yelp
Came here with my boyfriend after browsing on yelp for some quick eats in the area. Service was quick and the location was so cozy-- the indoor area and outdoor area are very welcoming and homey. Food was unique and flavorful. My boyfriend and I are both Filipino and thought their unique lumpia flavors were great. Ordered the adobo and regular lumpia, and the smash burger. All was great and the portions were huge. Only note is that parking is very limited-- we circled around 5 times and found a spot a block away.

Yelp
Delicious lumpias! I tried the adobo lumpias and the pork lumpias. My daughter tried the burger and it was so delicious! Such a different unique flavor. We enjoyed it a lot too.

Yelp
Hands down MY PLACE FOR LUMPIA!!! The staff is AWESOME. Family business, Spencer and his mom Lia are amazing. We had a Christmas party and they seriously went ABOVE AND BEYOND. Customer service is stellar. Great place for get to togethers, they even have a kids size picnic table!!! Lots of space and the decor just makes you feel at home. The lumpia flavors are out of this world!! Their signature pork/beef lumpia is long and soo tasty. Perfect savory taste, don't need dipping sauce LOL. Portions are filling. Sisig lumpia was my favorite. There's hearty meat chunks and the flavor. OMG yum. Then their dessert lumpia. Just perfect. Lia and Spencer just make you feel at home. It's home cooking yummy. This is a must, you will not regret. All the food was eaten before we could take photos. We will most definitely come back because we need to do a social media taste share.

Yelp
Lia's Lumpia has moved into a brick and mortar location after being a mobile food truck for so long. The setup is at a house in Barrio Logan where the short-lived Cafe Califas did business for maybe half a year. The front patio still has outdoor seating, but you no longer enter the premises to place an order. A service window on the house porch is where you select and pay for your food. The current operating hours are Thursday, Friday, and Sunday from 1 to 8 pm. On other days of the week, the truck may be slinging grub elsewhere in town. Besides several varieties of lumpia, the menu offered three styles of chicken wings, sweets (turon, malasadas), street tacos, a smash burger, and two sides. Each lumpia order contained eight pieces. Although it's not written on the menu, you can get a half-and-half order which was what I did. My split was four pieces of Lola's (traditional) and four pieces of Pork Belly Sisig. I also selected the Chicken Adobo Street Tacos to complete my meal. The first set of lumpia contained beef, pork, celery, carrots, red onion, garlic, water chestnut, and Asian marinade. A dip of sweet chili sauce was provided on the side. The second set featured seared pork belly, red & green onion, rice, kalamansi mayo, crispy garlic, and micro chives. The crispy rolls were fresh out of the fryer when the takeout box was handed to me. The taste of the pork belly was unctuous. The only issue I had with the lumpia was the price. I'm used to paying $1 or less per piece from the local mom-and-pop Filipino spots. While this place has some creative versions (e.g. mac 'n cheese), the cost of $12+ for most of the orders was steep. As for the street tacos which came in a quantity of three, shredded chicken meat was marinated in sweet soy sauce. Rice, adobo mayo, cucumber, pico de gallo, crispy garlic, green onion, and micro cilantro were the other components. I was pleasantly surprised by the sweetness of the chicken. It balanced the savoriness of the garlic and vinegar. The property will be transformed into a modern restaurant (Milagros) next year so be on the lookout for the expansion and more Filipino cuisine to come.

Yelp
A couple doors down from Ciccia in Barrio Logan, this hidden gem is only a couple months old. Very homey and cozy (with great Christmas decorations!), you will feel comfortable as soon as you come through the front gate. There is seating in the front patio, inside, and the owner told us he was going to expand out under the back patio as well. We had a delicious meal of traditional lumpia, chicken tacos, and pork belly tacos, and delicious wings, all with unique tastes and toppings. It was very refreshing to try some foods that were creative and not the usual San Diego fare. The lumpia were more than enough for three people to split as an appetizer. Will definitely be back for more!

Yelp
Very friendly staff a nice patio outside! I love the cuisine in here we had lemon and pepper chicken, it was nice but too lemony for me; I got adobo lumpia that was perfect and the pansit which was very well and balanced. The decor is amazing thank you GOT LUMPIA?
google avatar

Sophie A.

Yelp
Wow! That was fantastic. That food made me very happy! We had the spam musubi lumpia, sisig tacos and smash burger. Honestly pretty slow service, but appears to be limited staff and everything is made to order! The lumpia was so crispy and we thought the "fusion" cuisine was well done. The sisig could have been a bit more sour/crispy for my personal taste, but it wasn't bad! Smash burger was fine, nothing stellar. But the fries were quite good! Friendly staff and nice outdoor space. Would come again to try some things they were sold out of!

Yelp
Came here for lunch for the first time. It's a small little cottage restaurant with a lot of seating in the back patio. Has a cute hole in the wall feel. The staff is very friendly. I believe her name was Theresa (could be wrong) but she was funny and friendly and helpful in helping what to order. We got the classic lumpia and the adobo lumpia and the mini malasadas. We also got the beef smash burgers. All were pretty good but my favorite was the adobo lumpia. It was different but fulfilling and the sauce with it was a good combo. The prices were decent as well. Would recommend to try.

Yelp
Came to spend the day at barrio Logan and came to check out this lumpia place (Lia's lumpia's) and it doesn't look like much but I swear the vibes are vibing here if you just want to get some lumpia's and hang out inside! The staff is friendly and helpful. They also have groovy music . Anywho y'all should check this place out 10/10 best lumpia's.

Alicia Y.

Yelp
Best lumpia in the San Diego area! They were welcoming, the food is great, and the decor is really cute and homey. I've never had wings that taste like actual lemon and pepper instead of artificial lemon before. We also got a smashburger but it didn't survive long enough for a picture. Everything here is so good, you can't miss.

Yelp
Not only was the food out of this world, but the service was also Incredible. It definitely feels like home walking in there. I highly recommend this place if you're in the SD area. Particularly Barrio Logan. They just won the award for best Filipino restaurant in San Diego and I can definitely see why.

Yelp
1st time here. I saw a few videos on IG and Yelp reviews about this lumpia spot. We ordered a 12 piece jumbo Lola lumpia. The lumpia was delicious, well seasoned, very crispy and tasty. A little pricey. Indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor seating in very inviting, similar to your aunty living room. My only concern- is there's only one person up front. She was the cashier and making orders. The wait for our order was over 20 minutes. There were 3 people in line behind me and one front. Overall positive experience

Yelp
Not the greatest ran business or customer service. I would go elsewhere for your lumpia fix. PROs: The lumpia did finally come out and was mostly fresh and hot. Not much else here. CONs: Couldn't tell what roll was what other than the mac n cheese and the banana. We had 2 other rolls and neither matched the menu description. Placed the order and it took almost an hour to come out even though we were told it would only be 15 mins. After 40 mins we asked for an update and the cook got rude, stated next time we're not taking big orders close to the end of shift, he was very irritated. When we finally got the food he said next time he's only taking 2 lumpia orders. Also, we ordered only 3 lumpia orders and we got 4. Not complaining but shows how focused they were. Complained about getting business, blamed the customer for it taking too long, and got the order wrong.

Yelp
Discover a hidden gem in San Diego! I tried the 8-Piece Pork Belly Sisig Lumpia and the 6-Piece Adobo Chicken Wings--both were absolutely delicious! The ambiance of this spot is cozy and inviting, with a homey vibe that makes you want to tamabay. This is a must-visit for anyone craving good Filipino food, autmouthwatering flavors in a warm and welcoming setting!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place while walking around in Barrio. As my friends and I were looking at the menu, someone recommended to try the Filipino smash burger so I had to try it. I also wanted to try one of the lumpia options and ordered the pork belly sisig lumpia. When you walk in to order, it definitely has a homey feel with all the Filipino decor. The customer service was outstanding. Lots of seating both inside and outside. Rating the food: Pork belly sisig lumpia: It was delicious, 5/5. It comes with 8 big pieces and the kalamansi mayo pairs well with it. I'd get this again. Filipino smash burger: It was good but I think the patty was way too big for the Hawaiian roll, 4/5. If it were like 2 sliders, I think it would have been perfect. Overall, I would come again and try different items on the menu.

Yelp
Best Philippino food that I ever had in San Diego, I ordered the steak/rice dish, lumpia and the chicken wings. Please take the time to show this awesome family owned business a try. Also met the son and his beautiful mother. Very wholesome people, great talks and love to spread! Will be coming back very soon.

Yelp
Step Daughter and her Fiancee Engagement Party! What a great venue, they closed the restaurant to host our event on the back patio. We had delicious food served:Veggie Lumpia, Mac and Cheese Lumpia, Vegetarian Pancit, Jasmine Rice with Garlic, and Kalamamsi Chicken Wings. Great party atmosphere, seating and steady stream of hot food. Nice find in Barrio Logan and I believe they will be there for a long time! Thanks for the hospitality!

Yelp
Located in the heart of historic Barrio Logan, Lia Lumpia originated as a Filipino food truck, now has a restaurant with outdoor (front and back) patio incorporating fusions of Pacific Islander and Hispanic flavors. What caught our attention were the Sisig tacos! We ordered the Sisig Tacos and their Signature Jumbo Lumpias. We were surprised by the sticky rice in the tacos, but it is typical to have rice in every dish as part of the Filipino culture. The sisig was flavorful and the tacos were delicious. The lumpia was good, however, personally I prefer Vietnamese eggrolls. Overall, this was a nice small bite experience before exploring more of the beautiful town.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE this song place! If you're looking for authentic delicious filipino food this is the spot! Menu has a great selection of dishes, you can come here for a big dinner or a quick bite. The spam musubi lumpia is my all time fave

Yelp
Our visit at Lia's Lumpia was nostalgic of our Filipino roots. It captured the true flavors of Philippine's comfort food yet with a new twist. To start, the atmosphere of the restaurant was warm, clean, and welcoming. It had an amazing aesthetic that captured the rich diversity of Barrio Logan. They were hospitable hosts with timely service. Overall, every food item (pork belly sisig lumpia, filipino smash burger + fries, mini malasadas, calamansi pepper wings) had an amazing quality and cooked to perfection. The lumpia's were very filling. The wings had a very rich taste and a nice crisp to them. We would definitely recommend this to anyone and we'll come back very soon!

Yelp
Food- excellent fresh and just the right amount. The lumpia is the best. They roll it the night before opening. Service- excellent we ate at the back porch with enough breeze. Ambiance- excellent. There's front seating, inside and back.

Yelp
I've been waiting for this storefront to open! I'm glad that they're open now. The good came out fresh and hot. Everything was so delicious! I'm really satisfied with the lumpia-i ordered 4 sisig lumpia and 4 traditional. The sisig lumpia is perfect-rice and sisig in lumpia. It's almost a complete meal! The staff was friendly, and we were able to meet the owner. We're definitely coming back.

Yelp
First time trying this place out and it was during an event called the "2021 Taste of Philippines" held at the San Diego Waterfront. Ease order was quick and simple. My wife and I decided to give the chicken adobo lumpias a try. The cashier mentioned it would take 20-25 minutes. No problem; order placed at 11am. It gave us chance to walk around the event and see what other vendors were offering. Came back around 1130am and come to find a bunch of people were still waiting passed their queued time. A lot of us were frustrated that numbers were not called in the order placed. Ex. Someone had #9, yet to hear #33 was called before them. My friend had #7 and was confused about whether they were calling the sharpie # written on the ticket or the actual printed number. Others had the same concern and had to flag the employee down to confirm. I understand staff was short but after 50 minutes of waiting, my wife said just go get a refund. It's not worth the wait for 4 lumpias that takes 1 hour to cook. The head cashier was nice to acknowledge and perform the transaction but the other staff member ran back and mentioned my order was coming off the fryer. I could of easily said no but didn't want to hold up the line and decided to give the chicken adobo lumpias a try. Now for the lumpias. They were fried to perfection. Crunch was perfect but the filling of the rice and chicken was bland. The dipping sauces made up for it but expected more. The jumbo size was as expected (see picture) but for $4 a lumpia =\. Loved the concept of two of my favorite Filipino dishes into one but for me I'd keep them separate. I would give it a second try to support my Filipino roots but for others I would proceed with caution coming here, especially if you're hungry.

Yelp
The guy was super rude, he had seen me standing there and completely ignored me. They were suppose to be open till 2:30, he then said it'll be 35 minutes and then said I'm not serving we're closed and walked away. How do you expect business when you're rude and push customers away? On top of that i seen the person after me ordering. Idk, i was looking forward to trying it but not with that attitude.

Yelp
Well then the cameras will clearly show I was in the building just after 230. Which will catch you saying it out loud to me. You keep bringing up cameras to "incriminate me" yet has it never occurred to you that it has a clock & records everyone's voices, not just mines? Also we were already talking before that lady walked in. You admitted that it was empty of customers when I arrived & now you're retracting your statement inventing that "that girl was already in there"? Lol. You're embarrassing yourself. You try to pass yourself off as some saint when you're just as corrupt as anyone else fainting lies. Go ahead, take a peek.

Yelp
This place has the WORST tacos in San Diego. Maybe all of California. The following statement is from the owner on Google reviews and is absolutely false. NOT "everyone leaves happy and satisfied'l "Acknowledging the issue to staff on site will allow us the opportunity to resolve any issues. Every customer leaves happy and satisfied (via google reviews) from Lia's LUMPIA." We left upset that we WASTED money on HOT GARBAGE Sisig Tacos!

Yelp
In terms of lumpia, this is as good as it gets. Now admittedly, I haven't had lumpia in a very long time, but I thought the lumpia here was fantastic and the sauces were just delightful. I had an order of 'lumpia with a vengeance'. No a little context: my buddy was in this movie with the same name which I confirmed they named it to after. So I had to get it. The special sauce that came with had a great spice to it that was offset with a creamy base. The order I think was $16 and it came with four very large lumpias. The best part? Lia was there sitting off to the side hand rolling these large egg rolls like they were fine cigars! Everyone at the tent was friendly and I even had a bit of convo about the movie I mentioned above while waiting for my order. Lia's Lumpia was one of the vendors at this beer centric anniversary celebration for a coffee place that I'm a member of. I have friends and I were able to get samples of the different places before actually ordering and I will say this was probably the best food that was available and it was a pretty high bar. Again, I haven't had lumpia in a long time and maybe I'm not the best judge, but I will say that as a big fan of egg rolls or Asian inspired rolls, this was a very tasty entry in that family tree.

Yelp
Love love loved the lumpia! It was so delicious. The Pancit was a little to vinegary for my taste but still very flavorful. We ordered: - Lola's Lumpia - Sisig Lumpia - Monthly flavor - Spam musubi Lumpia - Pancit The place is super cute and quaint. I would highly recommend!

Yelp
Just walked up on these guys and based off the reviews - got the house Lumpia. Really impressive!! Thick cuts of ham & veggies rolled up in egg roll goodness! The guys were extremely friendly- considering that their truck was sitting in the direct Sun (metal hot box!). Excellent portion and if anything- I regret not getting the pancit!! If you see this truck - pretty epic food!!

Yelp
Really nice. Feels like a family's house/restaurant. Super friendly service. The lumpia (classic) was really good, fried perfectly. Very personable ambience. Great after (or with) a beer.

Yelp
Okay so I ordered to go I can't say much about eating in as I have never done so... but I can say the customer service for placing a to go order was legit! My order was correct Everything was hot the seasoning was legitimate not too much and not too little it was fast I ordered right before closing so you know it could have gone either way... it was super legit & totally cured the Lumps craving!! Took it over to a bar near by and scarfed it!
